Show 6 of 18!

GCW’s 24-hour telethon style wrestling marathon show continues...now it’s AFTER DARK! It’s worth noting that after the power outage earlier in the night, we’re only 15 minutes being the schedule at this point. Good job to everyone working to get us back on track and streamline the transitions. Feel free to ride along with the wrestling reports here and my rising levels of delirium and non-awakeness on Twitter (@juliusblaise).

Match 1: Billie Starkz vs Solo Darling

Billie has a big smile and Solo takes her legs out right away. Solo working to wrap up her legs over and over. Starkz escapes and hits a LOUD kick to the back of the head. Solo staggered but works back to hit a drop kick. Solo catches Starkz in the up and over and buckle bombs her. Solo wraps her legs up on the post. Battle to ringside, Solo doges and Starkz kicks and elbows the post. Starkz finally catches Solo with a rolling elbow and they trade strikes in the center. Solo decks her and hits a honey steamer suplex. Starkz fires back but walks into a german and a series of chest kick. The Space Yeezus hits her own German for two. Up to the top and a Swanton for two. Starkz with a basement dropkick from space. Solo drags Starkz to the rope, hits another kick and a draping DDT to the apron. Starkz is KO’d and Solo drags her back for the three count.

Winner: Solo Darling

These two UNLOADED on each other at parts. They had a post-match show of respect but you could have told me that was a shoot and I might have believed it. Good stuff from both. I haven’t seen a lot of Solo since the quarantimes started so it was great to her her in action. This was definitely one of the best matches I’ve seen Starkz in.

Match 2:  Kerry Awful vs Philly Mike Swanson

Swanson is VERY hyped to be here, going strong at 4:30am. Awful says Swanson can’t wrestle so he forces him into the lockup. Swanson is all energy and takes it right to Awful, battering him inside and outside the ring. Awful manages to uranage Mike on the apron to take control of the situation. Trading shots in the ring briefly before Awful just tosses Swanson to the bar top. Awful gets backdropped onto the back, taking out a hanging light on the way. Surprise, more glass! O_O Awful holding Swanson down in the ring and ripping his shirt and hair out. Owwwww. Swanson pulled off the top rope into a face kick. Swanson tries a roll up and Awful punishes his wrist and fingers. Swanson with another close pin attempt but Awful catches the arm  into a crux shoulder breaker and stretches him to submission.

Winner: Kerry Awful

Awful was merciless here but the debuting Philly Mike Swanson was here to impress. GCW head honcho Brett Lauderdale found his way to commentary and he seemed quite taken by Swanson. This was a good showing for both guys. Another semi-shoot feeling match up. The right energy for near 5am! XD

Match 3: Milk Chocolate (Brandon Watts & Randy Summers) vs Young Dumb and Broke (Charlie Tiger & Ellis Taylor w/ Jordan Oliver)

Give me all this energy. Milk Chocolate has been putting on some low-key bangers over the last year or so. Milk Chocolate ambushes during the entrance but YDNB batttles back without even taking their jackets off. Watts hit with a running senton and Tiger goes to work on the Shred God. Watts endures and baseball slides Tiger into the stage. Summers in to lay the beat down and set up some tandem combos. Summers with a cool double uranage into an elbow drop. Milk Chocolate distractingly the ref to lay in some cheap shots on Tiger. Tiger finally catches Watts with a many rotations blue thunder bomb. Taylor in to lay a bunch of shots in. Running kick for two on Summers. Milk Chocolate cuts off a double team and goes back to trying to put away Charlie Tiger. Huge combos of kicks and elbows and Taylor has to make the save. Tiger hits a double spear and gets Taylor back in. Watts is cleared. Top rope double stomp/DVD combo to Summers and that’s it! Bag ’im and tag ‘im.

Winners: YDNB

Tiger took so much heat through this. Milk Chocolate is such a good tandem, looking great even in defeat (like usual). A little surprised at how Jordan Oliver was a non factor in this match, especially with MC working the ref distractions heavily. Still, great tag war!

Main Event: Colby Corino(c) vs Lucky 13 vs Cheeseburger (for the Catalyst Wrestling Championship)

Three way dance going down and a lot of quick pin attempts out of the gate. Cheeseburger with a hot offense and wraps up a double submission. Lucky 13 sweeps the leg and kicks CB right in the face. CB with an armbar and Corina superkicks him right in the face. Lucky with a double stomp to the gut on Corino but Cheeseburger breaks it up. 13 with a package piledriver to Cheeseburger. Corino with a DVD to 13. Cheeseburger flying stomp to the arm and goes right to wrenching it off of Corino’s body. Trading shots, Corino slips into a flip crucifix driver for the pin.

Winner: Colby Corino

Solid fast-paced 3-way here. Some good spots throughout but this was a sprint to the finish (and it was a cool finish). And that’s it for “After Dark”! Every match here was a war. Get on that. “After Hours” is up next! Until then!
