Show 3 of 18!

GCW’s 24-hour telethon style wrestling marathon show breaks into the early morning hours with some death match content! We’re still playing catchup from the power outage. Feel free to ride along with the wrestling reports here and my ongoing levels of non-awakeness on Twitter (@juliusblaise).

Match 1: Homicide vs Effy

Homicide’s original opponent Low Life Louie couldn’t make it so Effy was quick to step up into this spot. Effy trying to flirt his way into Homicide’s head. Homicide wants to work and Effy wants to go low. Homicide is sick of this and starts tearing at the eyes and nose. Effy with a larait and a two count. Effy with a rocker dropper! Homicide fishhooking Effy. Homicide sent outside, apron lariat from Effy. Homicide is done with this and grabs a fork. Time to dig that fork into Effy’s forehead and teeth. Homicide ripping up Effy’s fish nets with the fork. Exploder suplex. Effy wants a Swanton bomb but misses. Homicide misses a diving headbutt. Superplex from Homicide. Effy replies with one of his own. Both guys striking their way to their feet. Chain of reversals, Effy with a blockbuster for two. Back to the top and Homicide hits a super Ace Crusher for the pin!

Winner: Homicide

You know...This was a straight forward solidly great wrestling match! Both guys worked up a show for us. It just...feels weird to have this HERE, in the “ultra violence” block. Effy does have to work later so getting cut up probably ain’t in the cards right now. Good stuff, watch it! Now for some BLOOOOOOOOOOD.

Match 2: Madman Pondo vs Jeff Cannonball

The ring is full of plunder for this. Time for violence. Thumbtacks down early, Pondo slammed into them for the two. Cannonball cracks a can of coke and gives us a short soda review. Coke? It’s “Classic”. He then feed Pondo some tacks and punches them out. Cannonball with a conchairto to Pondo’s nethers. Cannonball with a cannonball to Pondo on a hardware board. Cannonball with a pizza cutter and Pondo is opened up. Pondo puts Cannonball through a barbed wire board and started to cut him up with a circular saw on a pole. Pondo crushes Cannonball into a chair and tacks...and he goes for a sledgehammer and cinder block. He sets up the block on Jeff’s crotch and crushes it with a hammer. Cannonball screams in pain and to his feet. Pondo with a whip and clanks a stop sign over Jeff’s head for the pin.

Winner: Madman Pondo

Clash of Titans here as Cannonball gets his dream match against a death match legend. This was ALL Cannonball at first but wow, Pondo turned it up and delivered a crazy finish. This certainly was ultra-violent. :D

Main Event: SHLAK vs Orin Veidt

Ring loading up with light tubes. Such a small space for all that spooky gas. SHLAK and Viedt go right to it, smashing each other into the glass. SHLAK wraps up the arms and pounds a tube right into Veidt’s chest and cuts up his forehead. God the SOUND of the tubes exploding/cracking is crazy in this small/low audience venue. Veidt tossed. through a door set up at ringside. SHLAK with more glass and choking Viedt with a chair. Veidt goes to the eyes to create space and blasts SHLAK with tube bundle after bundle. Nick Gage is on commentary and he is clearly getting worked up from all this violence. SHLAK is just a monster and eats it all. Sliding elbow into more tubes. SHLAK with a corner spear into more tubes. Viedt is mad and going toe to toe with strikes. Trading tube shots to the head. SHLAK with more chairs and sets up a door. SHLAK lights his elbow on fire and hits an elbow drop. SHLAK’s on FIRE!, he rips off the elbow pad and throws it out. Cameramen dodges the fireball. Veidt traps SHLAK in a submission but he powers out. Trading pin attempts. SHLAK with a powerbomb for two. Viedt with a driver through tubes for two. Hangman’s neckbreaker to SHLAK. SHLAK drags Veidt to the mat into a STF variation and Viedt is forced to submit.

Winner: SHLAK

Crazy crazy bout. SHLAK has some tubes left and throws them at Viedt, who returns fire with glee. This was wild. They have a few minutes to clean up before the next block.

And that’s it for “UV60: The Death Hour”! A solid wrestling match and 2 wild plunderfests. After the commercials, we kick into “Jimmy Lloyd’s Up All Night”. Until then!
