GCW’s 24-hour telethon style wrestling marathon show wraps up with this final show of the day! What is the main event of a marathon like this feel like? Feel free to ride along with the wrestling reports here and my rising levels of delirium and non-awakeness on Twitter (@juliusblaise). 

Match 1: Eli Everfly vs JJ Garrett 

Fast back and forth to kick this off. Garrett drags Eli to the ground with a headlock to ground him. Eli escapes into cross face into a cross arm breaker. Garrett saves his arm, heads to the apron. Eli moonsault but Garrett catches him and slams him to the floor. Back in the ring, Garrett with a splash to the back. Seated chops but Garrett has elbows and headbutts. Battling back to the outside, Everfly with a sliced bread to the apron. Everfly hits his moonsault. Garrett catches Eli on the top but that just sets up a tilt a whirl head scissors from the top. Eli with a stunner for two! Garrett with a sliding elbow and a popup double stomp to the back of the head. JJ with an inverted senton for two. Garrett throws Eli to the bar top outside. Powerbomb back into the ring and a splash to follow up. Kick out! Eli stuns with a head kick and gets Garrett with a destroyer off the top to get the pin!

Winner: Eli Everfly

Wild opener. Heavy offense all the way through. Garrett put Everfly through hell here. 

Match 2: Chris Dickinson vs Juicy Finau

Juicy backs Dickinson into the corner and lands clubbing shots to the back before the Dirty Daddy makes space. Couple of shots to the heads from Dickinson and Finau steamrolls him to the corner again and crumbles him with shots. Dickinson crumbles under the weight of Juicy slams. More forearms from Finau sends Chris outside. This requires extreme measures and he blasts Juicy in the head with a trash can a few times to stagger the big man. Juicy with a big right hand and headbutts, Dickinson is really in trouble. Tornado DDT on Juicy for a near fall. Tilt a whirl slam from Juicy for his own near fall. Juicy going up for a Banzai drop and Dickinson kicks out the knees. Dirty Daddy has a shovel and jabbing into the knee and leg. The ref tries to stop this but Dicksinson beats the ref with the shovel and send him outside. He beats Juicy with the trash can more and wrenches on the leg. Dickinson gets a single leg crab. Juicy drags to the rope. Chris uses the garbage can to kick out the knee before heading to grab a door. Juicy sets up the door and tries to cannonball Dickinson through it...but Daddy moves. Dickinson smashes a half door over Juicy’s head. Juicy gets mad and landing more heavy blows a huge Samoan drop for two! Juicy to the top...Dickinson DVD’s him off there for the pin!

Winner: Chris Dickinson 

Dickinson couldn’t do it with pure wrestling so he dipped into the land of plunder to get the edge he needed. Absolutely wild matchup and a hell of show. Dickinson is still mad though and gets the mic. He says anyone that wants to make it, needs to go through him first. It doesn’t matter how much twitter hype you have, you better have your sh** together to take him on because he’s not coming here to embarrass himself against social media favorites. Strong words from the Dirty Daddy. 

Match 3: Brayden Lee vs “The Iron Demon” Shane Mercer

Good lockup into a monkey flip for a two count. Mercer whips into a clothesline but gets caught with a kick to the face. Lee wants a suicide dive but Mercer catches him by the throat and press slams him down.....Lee’s on his feet! Lee press slams Mercer!

Hitting the ropes,Lee with a high angle dropkick. Mercer slams Lee into the ring post and yeets him onto the stage, where he skids into the crowd. Running Press slam from the stage to the ring. JEEEEEESUS. Tour of the Islands variant slam for two. Brayden stuns Mercer and tries a senton from the top, Mercer catches him and tosses him across to the other corner. Mercer wraps up the legs of Lee but he gets the rope. Lee with a german and running chest kicks. Lee dives and hits a shooting star press. He tries to take Mercer off the top, Mercer slips it but tries a molly go round. Mercer catches it, heads to the top and hits his moonsault powerslam  for the win!

Mercer is an absolute unit but Brayden Lee gave one heck of a fight here. This was good stuff. 

Match 4: G-Raver vs Cole Radrick

Radrick working fast with arm drags and clothesline and a lot of dodging. Running snare mare sends G-Rave outside. G-Raver with a headbutt to cut off a suicide dive. G-Raver slaps back and forth with the Wildheart. G-Raver sweeps the legs and hits a running knee to the back of the head. Rolling forearm from G-Raver. Half and Half suplex for two. Radrick with a stunner and a super stunner. Radrick goes over the ropes and bounces G-Raver and a door at ringside. Radrick recovers, grabs a pair of chairs but G-Raver uranages him through them. Radrick with a scoop slam through another chair, twisting the metal with G-Raver’s body. Both up top and Radrick trying to put him through a suspended door. G-Raver with a senton puts Radrick through the door and that’s the three.

Winner: G-Raver

Hard hitting match that didn’t need to go full ultraviolence to be a good watch. Radrick had his moments but G-Raver is just a monster for this.Jimmy Lloyd hits the ring to take it to G-Raver, choking him and carving him with with a loop barbed wire. Folks from the back come to break it up. This ain’t done by the long shot. 

Match 5: Joey Janela vs Everett Connors

Connors is so shiny under these lights. He keeps getting Janela into bad situations and taunting cutely. Janela throwing hammers to the face, that Connors stops being able to return. Joey’s got his ribs taped. Connors keeps playing. Janela is sick of this and pushes a suicide dive through to the garage door. Back in the ring, Joey is stalking with kicks and clubbing punches to the head. Janela with a rolling slam and a head scissors. Connors eats a kick to the face. Janela misses a moonsault and Connors in with a slingshot ddt to the apron. Heat seeker piledriver for two. Connors finally takes his velour jacket off. Janela with a tilt-a-whirl piledriver. Janela sets up a door on the bar top. Janela with a pair of brain busters. A defiant Connors throws the double birds add Janela take him out for a brain buster on the bar top. Connors won’t give up and Janela waits for him to crawl back to him. Stiff superkick to the jaw. Janela up to the top and Connors pushes him off through that door on the bar. Janela struggles up and out and stalks back into the ring to lay shots into Connors’ face. Trading shots back and forth. Sliced bread from Connors and Janela pops up with a superkick. Package piledriver but Everett kicks out! Connors gets a camel clutch on...Janela barely makes the ropes. Connors to the top, Janela kicks him hard and hits a falcon arrow off the top. Kick out! Janela with the elbow drop but Everett rolls up Janela for the pin!

Winner:  Everett Connors. 

Joey with a heartfelt emotional speech on the mic about how his confidence has been shaken since going to AEW (and most notably when he got KO’d in his main event match against Omega). Connors helped knock some sense into him and remember just who he is and Janela is grateful for that. Janela got the wake up call he needed to remember he IS that main event guy but also to recognize that Connors is that NEXT guy. I’m glad Janela got this from the match. As a viewer, I truly hope Connors grows on me over the next year or so. Maybe I had Dickinson’s post match speech echoing in my head for that whole bout...so I think I need to see more first. 

Main Event: Ricky Shane Page vs Blake Christian

And here we come to the end of Fight Forever. RSP defends the GCW title against Blake Christian, who has put his GCW career on the line against the champ. The crowd demands that RSP be introduced as “Little D*** Rick”. Emil Jay can’t get the words out but Blake Christian obliges. Christian out of the gate hot. RSP dropped and corkscrewed splashed for two. RSP drops a few heavy shots and Christian is on the defense. Elbow drop and Blake’s out at two. Rsp with a toss away suplex and grinds out Blake’s face with his boot. Christian taking a bunch of heat, a backdrop with a kick on the way down. RSP can’t help but taunt the still injured Nick Gage at commentary. Christian firing up with kicks. Big dropkick from the top. Split leg moonsault for two. RSP sent over the top and driven into the support pole. Frog splash and a springboard 450 for two. Christian hits a rolling DVD on RSP! Another frog splash but the knees are up. RSP with the choke breaker, kick out. 44OH! Is out to eff things up. Second gear crew with Nick gage headed down to the ring to send 44OH! Back to the locker room. Christian with a german and a running knee for two! RSP misses a choke breaker and Christian with a head kick. RSP trying to use the GCW belt. Christian with a huge low blow while the ref ain’t looking. backfist to the head and Christian wraps up a STF. RSP rakes the eyes of the ref and taps out. Christian thinks he won and celebrates but the ref didn’t see it. RSP powerbombs Christian off the top rope and the ref recovers to count the three.

Winner: Ricky Shane Page

Great match with a lot of story and a sad ending. Evil prevails. Say it louder for the people in the back: F*** OHIO. So Blake Christian has to say goodbye to GCW.  Christian says he SHOULD be GCW champion. Christian calls out the work he did with Alex Zayne, Jordan Oliver, KTB, & Tony Deppen. He will miss them so much but it’s fitting that he opening the marathon and that he ended it. He loves everyone and says he’ll see us down the line. Thank you, Blake Christian. 

And that’s it for FIGHT FOREVER! We made it! Almost 25 hours of content. I am very sleep deprived. I’m going to go crash now but this was a crazy memorable day of wrestling. I might take a week or so off from writing anything up. Until. Then. <3
