AEW Champion Bryan Danielson vs Jon Moxley w/Marina Shafir
So, will we find out who is the power behind Moxley?
Mox attacks Bryan before the bell and they brawl on the floor as Final Countdown keeps playing. When they hit the ring, Bryan gets the running knees in the corner and lays in chops. Bryan is going all out to try to win quickly. The fight to the Spanish Announce table and Mox gets a pile driver on the table. Mox tries to choke on Bryan with a cable and then slaps Nigel McGuinness before they go to the ring.
When the ref is distracted, Shafir assaults Bryan with knee strikes. Mox is in control after that, beating him from pillar to post. Mox will also lecture Bryan between moves. As Mox works Bryan over on the floor, Shafir pulls up the padding at ringside. Mox tells a fan it has to be this way as the fan says he is you f@#$ing brother. When they get to the bare concrete, Bryan reverses a power bomb into a backdrop.
They return to the ring and fight on the top and Mox pulls off Bryan’s tape. Bryan locks Mox in the Tree of Woe and starts kicking and the crowd lights up. Bryan misses a flying headbutt and Mox hits a curb stomp for two. Mox then gets a sleeper and it’s followed by a side headlock. As Bryan works out they confront each other in the middle of the ring and have words before they fire shots back and forth.
Bryan moves to the Psycho Knee for two. Bryan has a goose egg over one eye. Bryan then stomps Mox’s head in. This leads to the Labell lock. Mox is able to get to the ropes and when Bryan dives on him, Mox is able to get a DDT on the concrete. Mox rolls Bryan into the ring for two. Bryan powers to his feet with Mox having a sleeper on him and then falls backward from the top onto Mox to break the hold.
They kick at each other on the mat and Bryan gets the Labell lock again. Mox tries to escape and Bryan makes it a triangle lock. Bryan hits a suplex and the Psycho Knee for two. Mox hits a pair of lariats for two. Mox calls for the end and hits a death rider for one. Mox tells Bryan “Don’t make me do it” and hits a Gotch style piledriver and goes for a sleeper. Bryan is reaching for the ropes and slowly starts to fade and he drops to the mat and the ref calls for the bell.
Winner and NEW AEW World Champion: Jon Moxley
Claudio, Pac and Shafir join Mox in the ring and put the title belt in a bag. Mox pulls out a plastic bag. Wheeler Yuta and Darby Allin show up with a chair to chase them off. WQheeler Yuta then attacks Allin. They duct tape Allin to the corner and Yuta has his head in hsi hands.
Mox has the plastic bag and he gives it to Yuta. Yuta puts the bag on Bryan’s head. Security is kept out of the ring as Bryan goes out. Private Party and Jeff Jarrett try to help and they are fought off. Claudio puts Bryan’s head in a chair and then stomps on it after Mox gives a short talk. The locker room empties to help Bryan and Mox’s team leaves.
Bryan is stretchered out as Mox’s team leaves through the crowd.
