Zero Hour - AEW WrestleDream Preshow

Renee Paquette, RJ City and Jeff Jarrett are the panel to discuss the upcoming show and to do the hype. Chuck Taylor shows to discuss matches as well. He leaves and then Nyla Rose joins.

The first match starts at an hour and 15 minutes to the start of the show.

The commentary team is Excalibur, Nigel McGuinness, and Tony Schiavone.

Atlantis Jr (Ring of Honor TV Champion) vs Brian Cage

Cage comes out alone, no sign of the Gates of Agony.

Atlantis has his upper back covered in tape, which acts like a target for Cage, and Cage dominates the match early on. Atlantis gets in some kicks here and there, but Cage cuts him off quickly each time. Atlantis is able to get a dive into Cage and follows with a second dive for a two count. Cage cuts him off with a big suplex from the second rope, bringing in Atlantis from the apron.

From here, they go back and forth with big moves and two counts. Cage finally hits the drill claw for the pin and the win.

Winner and NEW Ring of Honor TV Champion: Brian Cage

In the back, Lexi Nair is with MxM Collective who unveil their Third Man, Rico Constantino.

Anna Jay vs Harley Cameron

They start in a standard way, and indulge in brawling on the floor. Anna bows Harley around the ring post, and Harley then pulls Anna into the post. Harley takes over the match at this point. Anna gets a flurry of offense where she works with kicks and a nice slam off the top into a two count. They then trade quick two counts with rollups. Anna wins with a Gory bomb for the pin and the win.

Winner: Anna Jay

MxM Collection (Mansoor and Mason Madden) w/Rico vs. The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) w/Billy Gunn

It starts as a by the numbers tag team match with everyone getting some spotlight time in the ring. Rico pulls Caster off the apron and lays in a few blows until Billy Gunn comes over to cast intimidation. Caster then gets to be the babyface in peril with Rico interfering when the ref isn’t looking. Caster gets the hot tag to Bowens after a sunset flip.

Bowens is double-teamed and when he tags out, Caster gets hit with the Centerfold and kicks out. MxM has pretty much both been in the ring since Bowens’s hot tag. The Acclaimed toss Mason into Mansoor for the Scissor Me Timbers and then follow with a traditional version of the move. Bowens gets a big cross body front he top to the floor on MxM.

Rico tries pulling Mansoor into the ring and Gunn hits him with the Famouser. Mansoor takes the Arrival and the Mix drop and Caster covers for the pin and the win.

Winners: The Acclaimed

Pretty average match with Rico there to get attacked by Gunn.

We get footage of Mercedes Mone and Kamille arriving and Mone demands her dressing room. Queen Aminata tells Mone to quit being rude.

Tony Khan brings out Antonio Inoki’s grandsons to do Inoki’s chant as this show is created to honor Inoki.

Dax Harwood and Adam Copeland have a pretape where they show people how they can help with the victims of the hurricanes.

Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly and the Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) w/Rocky Romero vs Premier Athletes (Tony Nese and Ariya Davari) and The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds and John Silver) w/Mark Sterling, Josh Woods, and Evil Uno

We get Outrunners and their team dominating for the first part of the match, and everyone is able to get ten in the corner on Reynolds until Cassidy who only does one. After this, when Cassidy goes to the floor, all of the ringside folks and then the rest of the Athlete’s team stomp him down before he is tossed back in.

Cassidy finally gets the spinning DDT for the hot tag. Turbo Floyd runs wild, with body slams for everyone. Then he slams Truth onto his opponents. The fight moves to the floor where the Athletes take over. Turbo is able to turn the tide, and sets for Cassidy to hit the Orange Punch, but Sterling breaks up the count and gets a drop-kick from Cassidy for his trouble. The Outrunners hit a two-man slam on Nese for the pin and the win.

Winners: Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly and the Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd)

In the back, Renee is with Kazuchika Okada and he is here to support the Elite. Kyle O’Reilly asks for a match since Okada is cleaned and Okada says hell no….bitch. Kyle says next time he’ll try a different approach and pops him in the mush. They are pulled apart and Christopher Daniels ejects them from the building.

WrestleDream 2024 is in the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington.

Our starting commentary team is Excalibur, Nigel McGuinness, and Tony Schiavone.

Hangman Adam Page vs Jay White w/Juice Robinson

White starts the match by dodging Page’s attacks and then slapping him to make him mad. When Page catches him, he beats White down. The crowd is booing Page whenever he gets the upper hand. As the match starts to speed up, Page is going for power moves and White is being more surgical and precise with his attacks. The story quickly becomes that Page is in control because of his power attacks.

White sees the Buckshot being set up and just walks away to the corner. White takes over at that point with precise shots in the corner and when Page tries to reverse a hold, White turns it into the swinging neckbreaker. Page acts as if he hurt a knee and White zeroes in on it with his attacks. Page gets caught in the ropes on the top with his bad knee and White attacks him ruthlessly as he’s tied up.

Page keeps trying to set for the Buckshot Lariat, but White keeps cutting him off. When the fight spills to the outside, Page runs White into the steel steps. Page pulls off his belt, and the ref stops him. This allows White to pick Page up and drop his leg into the edge of the ramp. White rolls Page into the ring for a Dragon Screw. Page tries for a low blow in front of the ref, but White blocks it.

Page hits a Deadeye and then his knee is too hurt to follow up. Page goes for the Buckshot right into the Blade Runner from White who gets the pin and the win.

Winner: Jay White
