Bryan is in the back with Brie. He is ticked at how the match went. She told him he will get revenge since he has overcome so much. She said she would hang with him. He said no, go watch the Alexa-Ronda match. It's not next by the way, Jeff Hardy vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the US Title is.
The last two matches are the Raw singles Title bouts.
Hardy was out first. When the match started, the crowd was chanting Nakamura's theme. He liked it.
They did a fun sequence early where Jeff mocked Nakamura's mannerisms and the COME ON. It was pretty funny.
The champ dominated early on but then Jeff made a comeback. Shin missed a knee in the corner and Jeff got a two off of a Whisper InThe Wind. He went back up but Shin took out his legs and blasted him with a knee to the chest. He hit another knee and got a two count.
Shin went for the Kinshasa but Jeff blocked it, and an attempted low blow. Jeff hit the Twist of Fate, then the Swanton. He was slow to the cover but only got a two.
Jeff went up as Shin rolled to the apron. Jeff went for the Swanton but Shin moved. OUCH. For real. That was stiff. Shin rolled him back in and set him up for Kinshasa. He hit it and got the pin.
They have a very good match. It seemed as if the crowd was in a bit of a lull here, probably because they didn't expect a change and also because the show is long. Jeff is nuts for doing that Swanton on the apron. OUCH.
After the match Randy Orton's music played and he walked out to ringside, then walked back. He didn't do anything to anyone. Luckily, I have a tablet because the damn feed dropped on my Roku AND my TV. Comcast has been crappy here for the last week.
Natalya came out first, wearing her late father's jacket. That was a nice touch. Alexa was out next. The Bellas sneered at her. Ronda came out last. It was mostly cheers but some boos.
Ronda was in crazy, angry mode. But Alexa didn't sell it at all. Early on she isn't acting scared. I hope that keeps up.
Ronda nailed her early and she bailed to the floor. While Alexa was on the floor Ronda sat down and gave herself up. Alexa ran in and put on a choke and Ronda just got up and broke it. She destroyed Bliss with a sick suplex. Alexa came in and Ronda just abused her. Badly. I am watching on my iPad now because while my iPads and Macs can connect to the internet, my streaming devices can't. Comcast couldn't have anything to do with that could they?
Ronda attacked the arm bends all over the place and locked on the armbar to beat Alexa for the Title. It was a total squash, which I totally hated. I get that they want to put the belt on her and all but it shouldn't have been at the expense of Alexa like that. It wasn't even a match. I would have thought they would have learned their lesson about putting a UFC talent over their own people but I guess not. It would be one thing if Alexa put up a fight, but she got killed. If the champ can't put up a fight against her, who can? Well, Stephanie McMahon can. And that is another big problem. Sheesh.
Natty came in to celebrate with her. Then the Bellas. Why they are happy for her, I have no idea. She went over and hugged her husband. She's happy.
Time for the main event. Roman Reigns came out, to the expected reaction. Brock is out next, with Paul Heyman. This should be interesting, to say the least. Reigns got a mixed reaction on the announcement. Paul did the intro for Brock, so the fans chanted along. But as Mike posted earlier, he too didn't get a great reaction. And then.........ROAR. Out came Braun Strowman with the briefcase. Now THAT got a pop.
The fans want him to cash in. He has a mic. He refuses to be a coward and cash in when a back is turned. He does things face to face. He is going to be here watching and whoever wins, will get these hands. So wait a minute, he doesn't pick bones, but he didn't join the match? That makes no sense. It started so well and then it made no sense. Sheesh. A real man makes it a three way, he doesn't wait and pick the bones. Dumb!
Anyway, Reigns just attacked Brock at that point with punches and spears but Brock locked on the choke as Roman came in with a Spear. The crowd is split for Roman. He got up and did a spinebuster to break the choke. Roman went for a dive but Brock moved and Roman landed on Braun. Brock went out and hit an F5 on Strowman. He laughed after doing it.
Brock then went into Brock mode with suplexes. The fans chanted You Both Suck.
Lesnar destroyed Braun on the floor. He took the briefcase and beat him with it. He then threw the case at the rampway and beat up Braun with the chair. He went back in the ring to use it on Roman but Brock ran into a Spear and Roman pinned himto win the Title. Roman has the belt. Braun is laid out and the briefcase is in the East River. Will he get up and go find it? Nope, he won't. Roman is now your champion.
So let's get this straight. Braun says he is a real man and does things head on, then says you boys beat each other up and I will pick the bones of the winner. Brock kills him and Roman. He leaves Braun laying and tosses the briefcase to Hoboken. He gets caught with a Spear as he is trying to use a chair on Roman, and loses the Title. Brock looks strong as he leaves to go to UFC. Braun looks like a clueless putz. And Roman looks lucky to win the Title. Brilliant.
Man, this was a really good show overall until the last two matches. The booking in those bouts were just terrible. That show ended like a fart in church, such a shame.
