SURPRISE DEBUTS, NEW TAG CHAMPS CROWNED AND MORE: COMPLETE ROH MANHATTAN MAYHEM VI COVERAGE

By Mike Johnson on 2017-03-04 23:27:00

 Dragon Lee vs. Will Ospreay

This is the match I've been really looking forward to seeing.  This should be a lot of fun!

Some nice matwork early with Ospreay working in Lee's arm.  They mirror each other by landing on their feet when the other nailed a rana.  Lee gets sent to the floor.  Ospreay hits a shooting star off the apron to the floor. Lee is tossed back in but kicks out at two.  Lee nailed a suplex and Ospreay went to the floor.   Lee nailed a BIG flip dive to the floor.  Lee nailed a series of suplexes for a two count.

Lee went for a rana off the apron but Ospreay landed on his feet, like a cat.  They fought but Lee sent him to the floor and did a running leap over the ropes, landing on Ospreay's shoulders and hit a rana.  This is great stuff, too much to type.  Ospreay hit some dazzling aerial moves but couldn't score the pin.  Ospreay snapped Lee off the ropes after taking his legs out from under him.  The crowd chanted for "Ospreay."

Lee went for a springboard move but was caught and hit with a back suplex into the buckles.   Lee and Opsreay battled on the top.  Ospreay nailed a cartwheel into the corner but was nailed.  Lee hung him upside down and came off the top with a double stomp.   The crowd chanted, "This is awesome" after Ospreay kicked out.

Ospreay came back with some insane spinning kicks.  He went for the springboard stunner but was caught and turned into a sitdown driver and pinned.

Your winner, Dragon Lee!

There was some stuff I couldn't see from my sightline because the crowd was standing, but if you like highspots and good physical action, this was for you.  My favorite thing on the show thus far.

This was the first time they've ever faced off and I hope they do a series of these, because it's only going to get better and it was already very good.

ROH Tag Team champions The Young Bucks vs. Lio Rush & Jay White

HUGE reaction for the Bucks.  I have my work cut out for me keeping up!

Lots of fast action early on.  Rush and White have control early but the Bucks corner Rush and double team him.  They pick up and drop Rush.  Rush surprises them with a rana on both at the same time.  He gets grabbed by Matt Jackson and held on the apron, allowing Nick to drill him with a superkick on the apron.   Rush gets powerbombed on the apron.  Bucks nail stereo dives to the outside.  Crowd is rabid chanting for the Bucks.

The Bucks worked over White but Nick accidentally nailed Matt, which became a theme, as did Matt getting chopped over and over.   White escaped several back suplex attempts, landing on his feet each time and tagged in Rush, who nailed a series of clotheslines.   Rush avoided a Facebuster from Nick and superkicked him, then hit a five on Matt.  White returned to suplex Nick onto Matt in the corner.  Rush hit a cannonball onto them.

Rush and White cont ued working over the champions.  Nick finally drlled them each with superkick after superkick.  He superkicked Lio off the apron but Matt caught him and placed him back up.  He nailed another and Lio landed on Matt's shoulders.  Nick went to the apron but was caught by White and smashed down with a STO.  Matt, seeing this, went to run Lio into the ringpost but was caught with a reverse rana on the floor.

The battle raged on with the Bucks gaining control and Matt powerbombing Lio onto White in the corner.   They went for the Meltzer Driver but were thwarted by White.  Nick fought off White and they nailed it on Lio, scoring the pin.

Your winners and still ROH Tag Team champions, The Young Bucks!

Good match with lots of athletic and.....then THIS HAPPENED!

The lights went out and when they came back on, Matt and Jeff Hardy were in the ring.  They challenge the Bucks to face them right now and the Bucks agree.

They start brawling.....

There is a referee so this is apparently an official title bout!

ROH Tag Team champions The Young Bucks vs. Matt and Jeff Hardy

Matt gets control on Matt Jackson but is superkicked by Nick.   Jeff tags in but is nailed and told to "suck it" before every kick.   Nick superkicked him so stiff, it was ridiculous.  The crowd went nuts and chanted "This is awesome!"

The Bucks double teamed Jeff in the corner.   Matt made the save and the Hardys worked them over in the corners.  They tried to whip the Bucks into each other but was caught with superkicks.   Bucks nailed a double 450 splash.   Jeff made a comeback with a double clothesline on The Bucks.  He sent Nick to the floor and tagged in Matt, who worked over Matt Jackson with headbutts and strikes.   Hardy nailed the Side Effect for a two count.

Matt went for  a superplex on Nick but Matt Jackson slipped underneath.  The Bucks nailed the powerbomb/kick to the head combination, then superkicked Jeff.  Matt Jackson nailed Matt Hardy with a Twist of Fate.  Nick nailed a swanton off the top but Jeff broke up the cover.   Jeff shoved Matt off the top.  Matt nailed Nick with the Twist of Fate.  Jeff came off the top with a swanton and pinned Nick.

Your winners and new ROH Tag Team champions, The Hardy Boyz!

Well, I didn't see that coming.  That was a hell of a swerve!

Matt Hardy said that when they left that "dreadful" TNA (which led to a huge "F*** TNA chant), people thought they would sign with "MeeekMaaan" but now they are in the Honorable Ring.  Matt Hardy said that the Young Bucks signed the biggest deal in ROH history...until the Hardys signed theirs with ROH.  Hardy said they would be at the PPV next week, the TV after that and the Lakeland show.  They said the Bucks are going to be faded away and classified as Obsolete as Jeff sang the song.

We are now at intermission.  The Hardys stormed through the crowd, leading fans to follow them like rats to the Pied-Piper as the crowd chanted "Delete!" and "F*** TNA!"  The Hardys are signing

We will return with the remainder of the show, which has been EXTREMELY interesting to say the least.  We'll see if the second half holds any more surprises soon enough!
