PRE-SHOW NOTES
The show opened with a 10 bell salute for Afa Anoa'i, Kevin Sullivan and Sid Vicious.
They are sold out tonight but I believe there was a little less standing room sold based on the amount of people here.
They have a complete production truck outside.
They are selling Atlantis, CMLL, Alex Kane, MLW, Satoshi Kojima, Contra, Arena Mexico and an MLW tour shirt as well as action figures, hats and signed photos at the concession strand.
Atlas Security is in the house.
There is a part of the audience here specifically for the luchadors.
The legendary George Napolitano is shooting photos at ringside.
Vladimir The Superfan and Ringside Charlie are indeed, sitting ringside.
These first two matches are being filmed for future release:
Madds Kruger vs. Mr Thomas with Alex Kane
They battled back and forth. Thomas was smashed into the buckles but kicked off a charge into the corner and nailed a tornado DDT. He hit a big flying dive over the top to the floor, which is insane given his size. They battled on the floor and outside on the apron. Thomas was sent back into the ring and hit with a splash in the corner and a big suplex. Mads nailed another. Thomas reversed a third and slammed him after flipping Krueger in mid-move. They nailed each other big boots at the same time. NYC applauded. Two masked members of Contra Unit attacked Alex Kane on the floor. The distraction caused Thomas to get nailed. Kruger nailed him with a face-first slam and scored the pin.

If you like monsters fighting it out, this was your jam. Thomas is a hell of an athlete.
Mina Yamashita, repping Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling vs. Delmi Exo
Delmi sent Mina to the floor and nailed a dive early. Back in Japan, Yamashita worked over Eo xo's arm. She caught Exo with several hard kicks. NYC reacted to the sound of those. Exo responded with chops but was kicked down to the mat. Mina continued the assault, dropping a leg across Exo's arm. Exo retreated into the corner, where she was kicked hard. Exo battled back and grabbed a leg during a kick but was slapped. She shoved Mina down but was caught and sent into the corner. Mina unloaded with a series of kicks.
Exo was worked over in the corner, Mina used a hanging armbar to wear her down and then snapped the arm over the ropes. Exo fought back but was kicked in her arm and hit with a big back suplex. Mina kicked her in the corner but missed a move. Exo went for a package piledriver but Mina escaped and elevated her onto her shoulders. Exo escaped and drilled her with a superkick. Exo had her arm "snapped into place" and hit the package piledriver for the pin.

Hard fought match.
Exo said it's been a little over a year since Janai Kai took over the Featherweight division but now Exo is the top contender. So, she's running the show and Kai is on her time now. Solid promo.

MLW SUMMER OF BEASTS 2024
Since Richard is doing play by play, I will be shifting into live blog mode for the rest of the night.
Bobby Fish vs. Timothy Thatcher is the opening bout. As you might imagine, a lot of working over extremities and mat wrestling early. Thatcher tied up Fish, who escaped and tried to sink in a rear naked choke. Thatcher scored with several slams. He tried up Fish and even grabbed at his ear but Fish grabbed the ropes. This is very super technical stuff. They were going back and forth when Thatcher caught a low kick. No babies tonight! The story appeared to be Fish didn't "mean" to do it. Fish nailed several body shots and a dragon screw legwhip out of the corner.
MLW is aware they are having transmission issues. I can assure you they are going berzerk in the production truck trying to fix it!
Fish began railing away with kicks to the legs. Thatcher fired back with some great European uppercuts and had Fish trapped in the ropes as he walloped away. The referee got involved and was shoved out of the way by Timothy. Fish nailed a low blow while the referee was shoved aside so HE ABSOLUTELY MEANT IT EARLIER and rolled him up for the pin.

Brett Ryan Gosselin came out and interviewed Fish. He said he just defeated one of the toughest grapplers in the world and the only way it could have been better is if it had been done in a real city like Boston, MA. That was funny. NYC hated it. They promised to show why they are the epitome of excellence.
They are starting again in six minutes they just told the audience live.
Mister Saint Laurent came to the ring He came out to introduce himself and said he was a legitimate promoter. He was disgusted to be back in NYC. The fans chanted " Big Fat Joe" at him in honor of the hip hop star. He said that Contra has hacked the feed of the live show, so he is here to show his displeasure and to entertain NYC. He tried to take but the fans were giving him hell. He invited a female fan into the ring and she entered. The fans chanted, "She's been drinking" and perhaps....she had. Her name was Crystal and the fans chanted it, which she was absolutely thrilled about. This is all off the cuff stuff to kill time while they fix the transmission. MSL blew her off and told her to leave.
MSL called in a fan who was wearing a WTF shirt. He tripped getting in the ring. Poor soul. His name was Jonathan. He asked him questions about the WTF, which he didn't know the answers to. MSL ejected him and said he looks like a school shooter and he'd hate to see his browser history.
The feed is apparently back up.
MSL brought a female fan who as he described "is always in the front row and always in very little clothing" and asked if it was to sell her Onlyfans. She started to explain but he cut her off and said he didn't think anyone cared. He then asked her to talk about her first love. She pointed to her significant other in the front row. MSL asked for her first love, not her current one. She said Shawn Michaels. MSL said he has two things on his phone, Shawn's # and her nude photo. He's going to send it to Shawn tonight and he signed off the segment.
Hey, when you gotta kill time, you gotta kill time!
All the fans were good sports.
They re-started the Summer of Beasts opening video, so I guess Thatcher vs. Fish will be repurposed.
