They ran a promotional video for Sonic 3 with WWE talents interspersed in.
They plugged NXT Deadline next Saturday.
Next up is WWE World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER vs. Damian Priest.
They worked a methodical style early, perhaps teasing a longer bout. GUNTHER went to the floor to break up the momentum.
Priest kept cutting off GUNTHER but looked to have hurt his shoulder. He went for a flapjack on GUNTHER but didn't get all of it. GUNTHER went on the attack, focusing on the arm and shoulder. He sent Priest into the barricade and kept working on the shoulder and arm. He came off relentless.
Priest tried to fire back but was caught with some hard chops. Priest finally scored with a leaping kick that left them both out on the mat. Priest lit up GUNTHER with a series of hard chops and put several big moves together, culminating with an elevated Flatliner for a two count.
GUNTHER cut him off and went for a powerbomb but Priest escaped and went for a triangle choke. He went for the Razor's Edge but his bad shoulder went out and GUNTHER went for a sleeper, then hit a powerbomb for a two count. The story was that Priest refused to lay down and was showing a lot of spirit fighting through the pain. Priest came back to nail the move but the champ kicked out. So close and so far!
Priest went for South of Heaven but GUNTHER attacked the arm and locked in a Kimura. Priest tried to fight to the ropes and finally made it. They battled back and forth with GUNTHER surviving a lariat. They battled to the top, wjhere GUNTHER went for a superplex. Priest shoved him off into the ring but Priest slipped and fell off the ropes to the floor. While he was out on the floor, Finn Balor came through the crowd and nailed a double stomp off the steps to the floor.
GUNTHER drilled Balor then tossed Balor back in the ring. GUNTHER tied him up and locked in a sleeper. Priest faded and the match was stopped.
GUNTHER retains.
This had a slower, but physical style and was different from everything else thus far on the show, but it was a good, physical fight.
