We go to the back where Jey Uso is getting ready for his match.
Solo, Tama and Tanga walk by, look at him and shake their heads. Paul Heyman follows and does the same. We can definitely get back to where Jey sides with Roman in the war, for sure.
Time for Damien Priest to defend the World Title against Jey Uso.
If you didn't think the crowd would lose its collective mind for Jey's interest, come on already! It was an amazing spectacle with Jey coming out of the crowd, the lights everywhere, people dancing, wow. Graves said he thinks he has vertigo, the walls are moving, he never felt anything like this. There may have never BEEN anything like this!
Priest looked like a star coming out. He got a lot more cheers than I expected, which is really good.
Priest was keeping it slow early, while Jey was fired up. He finally caught Jey jumping to the floor and then took control.
As an aside, I could definitely see Solo, Tama, Tanga and Jacob Fatu vs. Roman, Rock, Jimmy and Jey at some point, maybe SummerSlam, with Paul Heyman hanging in the balance.
DP was working over Jey for a while until Jey made his comeback and got a two with a splash from the match.
After the first two bangers, they are slowing it down a bit here. The crowd is still insane though. Jey hit a tope on the floor on Priest. But JD came out and distracted him and Priest got a two. Then he realized JD was there and he asked him why he was there. He doesn't want him so it seems that is legit. Jey took advantage of them fighting, dusted JD and got a two off of a splash. The fans are chanting for Jey.
They are throwing hands with the fans doing the Yeet/No Yeet bit. They both went down after the bombs and the fans cheered for them, big time, showing respect.
DP hit a Razor's Edge for a two.
Side note, some people were upset about the Prime Logo being in the ring. I literally just saw it for the first time.
Jey hit a spear out of nowhere but only got a two. He went to the top but Finn came out of nowhere. Jey knocked him out. DP didn't seem to know Finn came out and hit South Of Heaven. Jey kicked out at two. This is really good. The fans say it's awesome.
DP kicked Jey down and told him to rise. He did and ate another kick. DP said rise again bitch. He did and nailed a kick to DP, then another, then a third. And a fourth, then a spear. He went to the top. He hit the splash and had him when JD put SP's leg on the ropes. That one looked like the champ needed it. Fans are chanting "asshole" at JD.
Jey came to his feet and did a tope on JD, then a spear on Finn. He went to the top but the champ took out his legs. South Of Heaven from the second turnbuckle, Damien retains.
So he retains and didn't want the help from the Judgment Day but he probably wouldn't have had they not helped. After the match JD and Finn attacked Jey. Priest stopped them. Problems in the group are getting worse.
It was a really good match, certainly a much better bout than Jey had at Mania. I have no problem with the finish. It protected Jey and DP needed to retain.
The French announcer in the ring said something that fired up the crowd. Cole told us that this is the largest gate of any arena show in WWE history. Considering that there are under 12,000 tickets sold, those puppies were expensive.
The Kabuki Warriors defend the Tag Titles against Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair next.
The champs are out first, with Dakota Kai. Bianca was next, then Jade got the big entrance. She seems super fired up and why not?
We started out hot with Bianca and Asuka. Then, they tagged out. Jade showed off some power and then made the tag. They destroyed Kairi and Bianca got a two. The challengers were in control until Bianca missed a move to the floor. Kairi nailed Bianca with a splash from the top to the floor and now the heels are in charge. The story was that they worked over Bianca and kept her away from Jade. It makes sense that Belair does the heavy lifting since Jade is still learning.
Bianca almost got the tag but Sane jumped off of her back and then nailed Jade, knocking her to the floor. The Warriors did a double team and got a two. Jade is still down on the floor. She is waiting to pop up for the hot tag.
Jade is back up on the apron Bianca made the tag and Jade splashed into the ring on both Warriors and then kicked Asuka. She put them in the corner for Stinger Splashes. She chokeslammed Kairi but Asuka broke it up.
Auska got the tag and they both smacked the crap out of Jade. Kairi went to cover Jade but the ref told her she wasn't legal. That allowed Jade to come back. Bianca is out on the floor selling. Jade is getting an in-ring lesson. She clearly has a lot of potential and you can see it but she also needs more reps.
Bianca came back and both Warriors had the challengers in armbars. Both powered up and dumped the champs. The fans think it's awesome. I will go with very solid,.
Jade and Bianca did a wild power combo on Sane, but only got a two. Asuka mugged Jade on the floor. Bianca charged the corner but missed. Kairi hit the elbow from the top and had her but Jade made the save.
OK, what I just said about Jade? What I just saw her do I can't describe but it was amazing. You give that woman all the time that she needs because I have never seen anything like that before. They used that to get the pin on Sane, now champs! I was pretty sure that they would do that here as it made a lot of sense. Very, very good. I can't wait to see where Jade is in six months or so after getting more reps. She's a stud, for sure.
