DOES THE STORY END OR IS IT NEVERENDING? - MIKE'S COMPLETE WWE WRESTLEMANIA 40 NIGHT TWO BLOG FROM LINCOLN FINANCIAL FIELD

Next up is LA Knight vs. AJ Styles!

Big reaction for LA Knight in Philly.  I love that Styles came out angry and went right to fight Knight, instead of playing up any pomp and circumstance.

The fight was on and the crowd was super into screaming YEAH with every piece of Knight offensive maneuvers.'

There was a big "turn the light off" chant during several points in the bout as one of the lights on the top of the truss on one side was blinding fans trying to watch the show.

Knight stomped away at Styles.  Styles came back with a series of German suplexes but was unable to score the pin.

They battled on top.  Knight turned Styles inside out with a German superplex.

The crowd is now singing "Oh Please turn the light off."

Styles gained control of the bout and slammed Knight's leg into the ring post.  He kept attacking Knight's knee.  A piece of the padding on the floor was released.  Knight went to nail a move but Styles backdropped him onto the bare floor.

Live, the crowd took a long time getting into this because of that pesky light.  Knight was almost counted out and the crowd got into counting that.  He made it back in and they battled.  Knight kicked his way out of a Styles Clash attempt.  AJ went for the Phennomenal Forearm but Knight nailed him and Styles crashed and burned into the ropes.  He nailed BFT and scored the pin.

Knight wins his Wrestlemania debut.  I'll have to go back and see how this came across on the broadcast but live it seemed fine, but the light and chants were distracting from settling into the groove of watching it.

As we broke last night, the next Saudi Arabia PPV will be King and Queen of the Ring on 5/25.  The night before will be Smackdown live frm Jeddah as well.  Philly BOOED the announcement.

WWE played a Hall of Fame video package and brought out the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame class.  Paul Heyman came out to the ECW theme and there was a massive ECW chant in Lincoln Financial Field.  By the way, the first time that song was heard was Barely Legal in April 1997...which took place right here in Philly as well.

This show, live, has been very fun.

The United States Championship match is next.  Do we get a Jake Paul appearance?

Logan Paul came out riding a Prime Energy truck, which we had reported we had heard may be part of his entrance.  The Prime mascot came to ringside with him.  Is Jake Paul underneath?  Is it Pete Rose?  I guess we will have to wait and see if this mystery, which I just invented, is solved by the Scooby Gang!

Kevin Owens came out with ECW type font and colors for his Titantron.  Hey, why not some MORE ECW chants?

Owens drove a golf cart down the ramp, then drove it backwards to pick up Randy Orton during Orton's entrance.  That was pretty damn funny.

Logan was taking a beating at the hands of the challengers early as they slammed him into an announce table several times.

The challengers were on the same page until Randy tried to hit Owens with an RKO.  So, they started fighting, allowing Logan to nail a Buckshot Lariat.

Philly rejected Logan so bad they chanted "Gatoraide" at him.  You have to love good old Philly.  They then chanted, "We want water."

Logan took control and looked so damn good, it was ridiculous.  He should not be this good.

Orton tossed him out and prepared to hit the hanging DDT on Owens but Logan interceded.   Orton hit a powerslam and nailed both with the DDT.  He set up for the RKO but Logan shoved him into an Owens superkick. Owens nailed a Codebreaker on Orton, landing on a prone Paul at the same time.  They teased a Tower of Doom spot in the corner but Orton punched his opponents woozy.  Owens nailed a powerslam variant off the ropes and hit a great moonsault for a two count.

Owens and Orton battled with Owens eating an  RKO and almost being pinned.  Logan nailed Orton with brass knucks and almost scored the pin.  This has been real good.  Orton nailed the RKO out of nowhere. Orton got his hands on the brass knucks but gave them to the referee.

I was just told Jake Paul is sitting ringside, so he's not inside the bottle.

Orton went for the punt kick but the bottle pulled Logan out.  iShowSpeed was revealed to be the bottle.  He's a Logan Paul YouTube personality.  Orton trounced him and nailed an RKO on a table.  That allowed Paul to attack Orton from behind.  He went for a splash but Orton moved.  Owens powerbombed Logn for a two count.  Philly chanted this was awesome.

Owens went for a pop up powerbomb but was hit with an RKO out of nowhere.  Paul knocked Orton out of the ring and hit a frog splash for the pin.  Logan Paul retains.

That was a hell of a match!
