Last night I watched CM Punk do everything I love about pro wrestling. It’s a different day. Welcome to my SummerSlam blog.
On the pre-show, a woman who won a contest to ring announce brought out Big E and Baron Corbin. Why? Corbin stole Big E’s briefcase. OK, stupid concept for a match but hey, it’s WWE. Big E won. Both guys worked hard. The story wasn’t their fault. He has his briefcase back. The best part was the lady who won the contest. She was great.
We are opening with AJ Styles and Omos defending the Raw Tag Team Titles against Rated RKO. My Allegiant Stadium looks great and the fans are hot. They are saying we have over 50,000 expected. I didn’t buy tickets for resale. Maybe I should have. Big pop for Riddle. Bigger pop for Randy, who kind of looks like Snidely Whiplash now (if you don’t know who that is, google it). AJ got a pop too. Omos went along for the ride. The crowd is super live early on.
Riddle took abuse until he could tag in Orton. AJ is doing the heavy lifting for his team, thank God. Omos tries and I appreciate that but his talent hasn’t caught up to his size yet. I hope he does some day. AJ definitely carries the team, as you would expect.
AJ could only do so much and he ate an RKO. New tag champions. I had hoped Riddle would score the pin but such is life in VinceLand. The match was exactly what you would expect. At least (hopefully) AJ can move away from Omos and back to singles action.
On the way out, Randy stopped Riddle so they could pose with the Titles.

Charlotte Flair is selling the WWE credit card. I am also too busy to get that.
I am watching a recap of Eva Marie talking down to Piper Niven over a doll. Yeah, not psyched to see her fight Lily. I mean Alexa Bliss.
Early on, Eva slapped Lily. She hit Alexa with it. That fired up Alexa. Alexa got the doll. People popped. That’s why WWE does it folks. If they didn’t pop, well maybe Vince would to it anyway. Alex missed Twisted Bliss and Eva got two near falls. Alexa hit a DDT and got the pin. That was it. Uh, OK. I didn’t expect much and I got even less.
Eva went for Piper’s hand and she instead got the mic and announced that Eva was the loser of the match. Piper then put on her robe. I wish she would bring out Kay Lee Ray and the two of them work a half hour match.
Mario Lopez is here. He is cool with Riddle and Orton. He mentioned WWF, go Mario. Randy put over the letters, RK Bro.
Damian Priest gets his shot against Sheamus’ US Title next.
Sheamus in control early. Priest is selling. He has some bad ass tights on though so he will be coming back.
Sheamus beat Priest up a lot. He was selling his back and doing hope spots.
Sheamus got a bunch of near falls. He is a really good worker.
He went for a Brougue but ran into a kick and got nailed for a two with a sit out chokeslam. Priest got nailed by a big knee but kicked out at two. Priest ripped off the mask and Priest threw hands. He hit Reckoning and Priest won.
I like the change but would have liked Priest getting in more. It was like, maybe, 80-20 for Sheamus. But he won, so let’s see where it goes from here with him.
