WWE NXT'S SAMI ZAYN CONFRONTS ETHAN PAGE AND MORE: COMPLETE EVOLVE 50 COVERAGE

EVOLVE champion Timothy Thatcher vs. Trevor Lee

Lee was playing subtle heel early, stalling and trash talking Thatcher.  They go into some really great counter wrestling.  Lee dropkicked Thatcher through the ropes to the floor and charged across the apron with a kick to the chest while Thatcher was on the floor.

Back in the ring, Lee controlled the match and worked over Thatcher, scoring several two counts.  Thatcher came back with some strikes.  Lee went to the ropes and drilled Thatcher in the jaw as he advanced upon him.   They continued back and forth with some well worked wrestling.

Lee began trash talking Thatcher and drilled him with right forearms.  Thatcher fired back and they cracked heads with Lee going down.  Thatcher's angry body language as he went for the prone Lee and muscled him up into a side salto suplex was awesome.  Lee came back with a great superkick for a close two count.  Thatcher's timing in kicking out was great.

Out of nowhere, Thatcher locked in a Fujiwara armbar and scored the submission.

Your winner and still EVOLVE champion, Timothy Thatcher!

Very good match.  Thatcher is such a different style and stands out as really unique in what he does in the ring, so he is great as the lynchpin of the promotion.  Lee had a really good showing here.  If you want very logical mat-based wrestling, Thatcher is your man.

Drew Gulak came to the ring and told Thatcher told him that the last time they were in the ring, he told Thatcher to get out but Chris Hero made the save.  He said he doesnt see Hero here and told him to get out of his ring.  TJ Perkins hit the ring to make the save but Thatcher shoved him aside in order to confront Drew.  Perkins attacked Thatcher from behind and laid him out, playing off the fact that they weren't on the same page last night.  They worked over Thatcher and left him laying.  The angle didn't seem to get over live in the building.

RPG Vice vs. Tony Nese & Caleb Konley with So Cal Val

RPG Vice controls the action early, double teaming Konley.  Tony Nese got in Baretta's mother's face in the front row and she actually tried to go after him, which was awesome.  Konley got control of Baretta and worked him over, including hitting a double jump moonsault.

Romero tagged in with a big flying bodypress on Konley.  He and Nese went back and forth with some nice action.  Nese dumped him over the top and set up for a dive but Baretta grabbed him and pulled him out of the ring, then held him for his mother to slap around.  Isn't that a DQ by Stunt Mama?

Romero worked over Nese but Konley tagged in and nailed a big spinning back fist.  He kicked and worked over Romero.  Now Nese and Konley were the ones working over Romero as they tagged in and out.  Romero fights his way out and goes for a tag but Nese catches him and prevents it.  He and Romero battle on the ropes.  Nese is sent into the ring and nailed a pair of knees.

Baretta finally makes the tag and scores a two count off a tornado DDT on Konley.  Val was great as the vocal manager on the outside.  She's extremely underrated in that role.    They all went back and forth with big spots.  Romero nailed a big clothesline on Konley.  Baretta nailed a double stomp on Konley.  Nese nailed an exploder off the apron to the floor on Baretta.

Everyone goes back and forth with big moves.  Lots of near falls.  Very All Japan style with all the big moves and last second pinfall breaks.  Romero went to the top but Konley crotched him and tied him to the tree of woe.  Konley went to the top for a big double stomp and nailed it.  He backdropped Baretta over the top to the apron.  Baretta went to the top for a superplex but Romero pulled them down.  Nese sailed with a Van Terminator on Romero, who was still hung upside down.

Konley nailed a top rope DVDR followed by Nese nailing a big 450 splash off the top.  That was beautiful, but it was only a two count.  Baretta tries to steal a win with an inside cradle for a two count.  Nese is pissed and tells Konley to beat him down in front of his mother.  The battle continues until Romero dropkicks Nese as he's being set up for Strong Zero and Baretta gets the pin.

Your winners, RPG Vice!

Just a sh**ton of great athletic exchanges and near falls.

Baretta's mother got in the ring to hug her son and Romero for their victory.  Baretta took the mic and thanked her for supporting him the last 13 years.  He said it's been a hell of a night but he and Rocky were talking earlier and said something is missing - The EVOLVE Tag Team championship.  He said that short and sweet, they want those titles.
