I don’t feel the need to recap the match.  Rich did a great job of that, as he always does.  And frankly, I bet most of you know how it all went down.

In case you didn’t, they had a great match.  The crowd chanted how it was awesome, and they were right.  You should go out of your way to watch it if you haven’t already.  And, of course, John Cena won.  Sure, they gave us a ton of HOPE spots, which is weird when they do that for the heel against the babyface, but in the end, Cena beat the World Champion. Again.  Just to show everyone who is really the main guy in WWE, in case you missed it for the last decade.

And what makes it worse if that Seth was on the top of the case and I still knew he would lose, even if Kane’s music hadn’t played.  So instead Seth came in off of the top of the cage with a huge spot, missed and Cena wins (let’s be real, he would have won anyway).

And in case you didn’t get that the guy who just worked an amazing match is fodder, Kane chokeslammed Rollins after the match and did a Tombstone after that.  The fans cheered.  But will the watch on Monday night?

So, here is what infuriates me about John Cena.  I love to watch him work.  He busts his ass and has great matches.  I enjoy them for 98% of the time I watch them, until the finish.

Why? Most of the time, I know he is going to win so it keeps me from getting truly invested.  That is the perfect way I can describe this match and what is wrong with WWE creative to all of the people that have tuned out.  The work was excellent.  Both guys worked their asses off.  There were great counters and great bells and whistles, but every time I though Rollins could win, I knew he couldn’t.  I knew he wouldn’t.  And he didn’t.  He hit Cena with a lot, but he didn’t kill him.  So, he didn’t win.

And that, right there, is exactly why WWE is seeing viewer erosion on their TV.  It used to be, “Anything can happen in WWE”.  Now it’s more like, “You know EXACTLY what will happen in WWE”.  That is great for Jon Stewart’s young kid.  But he will get older soon and move on.  Doesn’t it make sense to keep him invested?
