Chris Jericho came out and said that the Garden is great.  He said that tonight is his 25th anniversary in the business.  He pointed out that night, he did a 10 minute broadway (draw) with Lance Storm, who was there and acknowledged at ringside.  He put over his dad, Ted Irvine, who played for the Rangers.  He put over Don Callis and Dr. Luther, who were sitting with Storm at ringside (Joey Styles HAS to be there, he HAS to be).  The fans chanted for him.  He thanked them for allowing him to live the dream.  He has the time to make history by being the 10 Intercontinental Champion tonight.  Win or lose, thanks to the fans.  Out came Kevin Owens.  Time to put the man over Chris the way that you just put this show over.

Jericho started hot, but Owens came back.  As he was beating his butt, Owens said, “Happy Anniversary Chris”.  That is the kind of nuanced thing WWE needs more of.  It really adds to the match. … Anyway, Jericho came back and got control for a while, even though he was no help a few weeks back to Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.

With that said, Jericho worked a hell of a match.  They did a ton of back and forth stuff.  At the end, Jericho went for the Walls and Owens poked him in the eye and rolled through to retain the Title.  It was easily the best thing on the show by far.

The Dudley Boys then made their return to MSG against The New Day team of Kofi and Big E.  This match went exactly how I thought with the New Day controlling most of the way and as soon as the Dudleys got control, X Woods came in and broke it up to get the New Day DQ’d.  The New Day set up a table.  Kofi said we are still the champs.  Woods played the tuba.  The Duds came back and put Woods through the table, just like at the PPV last month.  Deja Vu all over again.

Remember what I said earlier about how they can’t treat a WWE broadcast like a normal house show?  Yep, it happened again here.

They showed Jon Stewart in the crowd with his son.

Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show is next, so you know who is closing the show.  Of course.

The Big Show got the reaction you would expect. Brock Lesnar got the reaction you'd expect as well. Paul Heyman looked really really happy to be in his hometown.

Brock went right to work on Show at the bell but got thrown out of the ring.  Show had control early and hit three chokeslams. Brock popped up after the first two but Show made a cover on the third. Then Brock went into Suplex City mode. He went for an F5 but didn't have it and rolled through.   He did more suplexes and then hit the F5. After he pinned Show, he left. But then he came back when Show got up and did a Suplex and another F5.

The match was short but really physical. The announcers were selling that Undertaker better get ready for HIAC.

Show got up, slowly, after Brock left and got some decent applause from the crowd. He deserved it. He worked hard and took so abuse.  Then as he was leaving some fans chanted the Goodbye deal. Sad. He worked hard. He didn't deserve that.

They plugged Bayley vs. Sasha at NXT Takeover next week. I can't wait.

Next up, the US Title match between John Cena and Seth Rollins.  I would say that since it is for Cena's Title he wins, but he would win anyway. They also just reminded us what Jon Stewart did so I bet he gets to make good tonight.
