Ultimate X time with Mason Andrews vs. Zema Ion vs. Kenny King vs. Sonjay Dutt. This should be sick. ... Dutt is the first one with a decent chance to go up for the title but he doesn't even get close. ... Ion tries next, uh no. ... Suddenly, King got close to the belt but Dutt stopped him. King has a lot of athleticism, for sure. ... At this point early on, they are going 100 miles an hour. No one is close to getting the belt yet. ... They just said that Dutt needs attention from the trainer and is being taken to the back. I don't see what happened. ... King tried to nail Ion on the floor but missed. Andrews tried a similar spot and hit both guys. With them down, he went for the belt. He got close until King did a springboard spear and stopped him in his tracks. ... Dutt is back@ and he is climbing the stanchion. The other guys didn't see him at first. So Andrews and King met at the belt and both fell to the ring. Ion and Dutt went to the top if the structure. Dutt seems a lot more comfortable up there than Ion (or I would be). Dutt went down to the cable but Ion hit him with the spray. Ion is alone and got the title belt. This was the kind of spotfest that you would expect but the finish was a bit flat. The hairspray to get the title was kind of weak. Unless Jesse Sorenson comes out right, it was a weak ending. ... Some moron at ringside is chanting Fruity Pebbles at Ion. Yeah, that dude will never, ever have a girlfriend. ... Sorenson never came out, I don't like the finish.

After the match, Ion dedicated the match to his inspiration, Jesse Sorenson. Breaking his neck tells him how dangerous he is. He is pretty too. I guess he is Muhammad Ali Ion. This better be setting up a big win for Sorenson.

And now it's time for the main event, Bobby Roode defending the TNA Title against Austin Aries. The build for this has been great, really great. ... Wow, JB is doing the ring announcing for this one. Double duty. He is really good at doing the intros, gives it a big fight feel. ... The fans are chanting for Aries already. ... The match started off as you would expect, Aries hitting occasional big spits while Roode kept taking control. ... Aries got momentum but then missed a tope to the floor and got all barricade. ... Roode has been in control since. I expect a hot last ten minutes. ...Almost on cue, Aries comes alive and hits the tope on the floor this time. He followed with the missile dropkick from the top but jumped into a running powerslam by Roode. This is really old school with the champ having "scouted" the challenger. ... They are trading/countering submissions and the fans are totally behind Aries. They want to see a title change. ... Aries went for the 450 but missed and Roode hit the spinebuster for two. Roode rammed Aries into the ring post and followed with the crossface. Aries is trying to get out but Roode is using his weight advantage. Aries finally got to the ropes. ... Roode went to the floor and got his title belt. Baby Hebner stopped him. While the ref's back was turned Roode hit a nut shot, but only got a two. ... Roode was arguing with the ref when Aries came back. After ref bump, Roode used the belt on Aries, woke Hebner but only got a two. ... Aries hit a kick to the head, brainbuster, one two three, new champion. Given that Roode had mostly controlled the match, it seemed like Aries would win and he did. The crowd was chanting his name and he raised the title. I liked the booking here. Aries had gotten over big, very quickly. In WWE that would mean "we have to bury this guy because we didn't plan on this". Even though TNA had what seemed like a plan to get James Storm to Bobby Roode, they called an audible and rode the hot hand and pulled the trigger on Aries. With Bound For Glory in October, they have plenty of time to get the title back on Roode if they decide to do so. But for not, they rode the hot hand. I like it.

As for the match itself, it was excellent. I enjoyed it a lot. ... Overall, the show was really good. It started slowly, which was understandable, but once it got rolling it really got rolling. They did a really, really good show.
