AJ Styles defending the WWE Title against Dean Ambrose is up next!
Dean was out first to a nice pop. Then AJ's music played and he got a great reaction. He deserves it. I think he is probably the WWE MVP this year.
They charged each other and Dean got the better of it early. AJ then came back and put up a ladder but it is way too early for that. Dean ended up blasting him in the head with it. They went to the floor where Dean used the plunder to work over AJ. He even put a garbage can over him as he was abusing him. Dean tried to come off of the barricade but AJ hit him with a dropkick and then took control. But Dean came back and hit a chair to the face (which was better than a few really soft looking shots he threw earlier).
They brawled in the ring until Dean threw a chair at AJ on the floor. But AJ came back and pasted him with a chair. AJ did a sit out slam on a chair. Dean came back and did a seriously rude flip suplex into the chairs. It was RUDE. It gave Dean the advantage. It was painful looking. Somehow, Styles came back and suplexed Dean through a table perched in the corner. Dean came back with a lariat and then tossed AJ to the apron. he went up to the top and up they went to the second turnbuckle. They came down and AJ jumped into a kick and then thrown to the floor. He laid AJ on the announce table. He set up a ladder on the Spanish announce table. AJ got up but Dean laid him back out on it. Dean came off the ladder with an elbow and put AJ threw the table. Rude. Dean went back in and set up the ladder and went for the belt. But AJ stopped him with a Phenominal Forearm.
They got up and both climbed the ladder. They threw hands at each other. They got off of the ladder and Dean wheelbarrowed AJ into the ladder. They are abusing each other. Dean went back up the ladder. AJ went to powerbomb him but Dean dumped him over the top to the floor. AJ managed to put Dean on a table on the floor. AJ went back in the ring and HOLY CRAP did a springboard 450 onto the floor, putting Dean through the table. It was insane. The fans came alive, chanting THIS IS AWESOME.
AJ went to climbe the ladder when....you guess it, out came James Ellsworth. It got some boos. I think people wanted the match to stay clean. Even JBL said that. AJ then went to work on Ellsworth when he had the match won. Dean took advantage of it and laid AJ out. Dean climbed the ladder but AJ got up and they fought on the ladder. Dean knocked AJ to the floor. He went for the Title when....Ellsworth pushed the ladder and Dean went crashing to the floor, through tables. I had a feeling something like that would happen as I said in the Tip Sheet.
Styles started climbing the ladder as Ellsworth cheered him on. AJ got the Title belt to win the Title, as Ellsworth was celebrating.
It was an awesome, awesome match. The finish is designed to get you to tune in on Tuesday. I don't have a problem with it as I figured they would advance the Ellsworth storyline and AJ had the match won before he came out.
It was a great main event to end an overal solid show.
