COMPLETE WWE PAYBACK COVERAGE: STYLES VS. REIGNS, WOMEN'S TITLE MATCH, A NEW MEMBER OF THE COMMENTARY TEAM, A SCARY MOMENT & MORE

By Richard Trionfo on 2016-05-01 22:55:00

Eden Stiles is in the ring and she introduces Vince McMahon.

Before Vince can start, the Chicago fans chant for people who are no longer with the company who might live in Chicago.

Vince says Raw is the longest running weekly episodic show and there have almost been 1,200 shows.  Raw has been successful because it has been able to change and reinvent itself over time.  Vince wants the crowd to get into it with their chants.

Vince says that Raw has been able to morph over the years because they have reinvented the show.  There have been different eras of Raw.  One of his favorite times was the Attitude Era.  There is a new era.  A show taht has a terrific set of ethics and business acumen.  Someone with a vision of where they are going to go.  This person needs to be more than a great businessperson, they need to be a person of ethics.  Who should run Raw?  Should it be his son Shane . . . or his daughter Stephanie?

Vince brings out Stephanie McMahon and she hugs her father Vince.

Stephanie blushes at her father Vince's comments.  Stephanie thanks everyone for their outpouring of support after Roman Reigns speared her at Wrestlemania.  Vince tells everyone to shut up and show Stephanie respect.  He calls them animals.

Stephanie says it is okay.  She does not want their support or compassion or sympathy.  She would rather have respect.  Under their leadership we saw the greatest Wrestlemania.  We saw the Divas Revoultion.  We saw the debut of the Shield, Kevin Owens, The New Day, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Charlotte, and AJ Styles.  The biggest accomplishment was the launch of the WWE Network.  Taken from a germ of an idea into 1.8 million subscribers.  You may not agree with all of her decisions and she might not be the most popular candidate, but everything she did was best for business.

Shane thinks he can run Raw because he is a man.  The myopic viewpoint will hurt Raw.  Remember that Shane walked away from Raw for seven years.  Is that a leader?  What will make him leave again?  Shane lost to the Undertaker.  She says that leap off the Hell in a Cell was stupidity.

Remember that Shane blackmailed you.  He stabbed you in the back and spit in your face.  How can someone who lacks intelligence and integrity run Raw.

There is only one choice . . . HER

Shane McMahon shuffles his way to the ring.

Stephanie says the crowd reacts to Shane's pandering.

Shane says he normally wouldn't come out here to talk about himself, but since they are vying to determine who will control Raw.

Shane asks how many headlines have you received about how good a job you are doing running Raw.  Shane points out a few recent ones that appear on the TitanTron.

Shane mentions the WWE Network.  It was the brainchild of you, but about 18,000 of the 1.8 million subscribers are here tonight.  The people who can take credit for that are the subscribers.  There was a jump around Wrestlemania 32.  It was an amazing event.  There was one match everyone was extra interested in.  Shane says one person in that match is standing in this ring.

Stephanie says that Shane's humility is inspiring.

Shane says he left because his voice was not being heard.  That led to differences between himself and the chairman.  It left a void that Stephanie and her husband filled.  The direction the company was going to take was replaced with Stephanie and Hunter's vanity.  This poison spread all over the company and you almost burnt this thing to the crowd.  He is insuring the future for his kids as well as Stephanie's kids.  That is why he returned.

Shane tells Vince to listen to the people because they speak for him.  Shane wants the people to show their support for him or Stephanie.

Vince says that Stephanie makes a lot of good points.  Stephanie says that Shane is more likeable but running a good business is not for a likeable person.

Vince says that Shane shouldn't be here but he showed humility after losing at Wrestlemania.  You did a better job than he thought Shane would do.

Vince says he does not listen to anyone but him.  Vince says this is about what he wants.

Vince says he wants blood (figuratively).  He wants to see each of them slit each other's throats.  He wants to see them disembowel each other.  Maybe we will see a collaborative effort.  He says that you are both going to run Raw so go figure it out.

Vince leaves the ring.

Shane offers his hand and Stephanie shakes it.  It will be a collaboration of Honor.

We go back to the Kickoff Show Panel for their thoughts on what has happened tonight.

Jerry says the handshake might have been the icing, but he does not see it working out.  What will happen?  Your guess is as good as his.
Corey talks about Kevin Owens vanquishing Sami Zayn and then Zayn costing Cesaro the Intercontinental Title.

Booker says that Dean Ambrose earned respect tonight.

We see highlights from the Kickoff Show Matches.
