Josh Alexander vs. QT Marshall w/Sheldon Jean
We are told QT has a new finishing move, the Tariff.
They lock up and QT forces them to the corner, and he tries to break with a punch, but Josh dodges it. Josh lays in chops and gets a back elbow after QT comes off the ropes. QT lays in his own strikes. Josh comes out of the corner with a big boot and then grabs an ankle lock. QT whips him to the corner as he gets out and they battle over the top rope to the floor.
Josh tossee3s QT into the ring and Jean whips a foot out from under him on the apron, and QT pulls Josh into the ring for two. QT works Josh over in the corner, Josh fights his way free, and QT is whipped into the ropes. QT comes off with a handspring and an insigiri. Jean nails Josh while the ref is talking to QT and QT gets a two count. Josh fights back with a headbutt and strikes. When QT is whipped into the ropes, he gets a power slam, followed with a springboard moonsault from the second rope for two.
QT calls for the Diamond Cutter and instead goes for a sharpshooter, but Josh kicks him off and knocks QT over the top. QT skins the cat, but Josh works over QT and gets a back body drop. Josh gets a kamikaze roll followed with a knee drop from the into the ankle lock. QT rolls over and kicks Josh off. QT gets a backbreaker followed by a slam for two.
They block moves from each other until QT gets a pop-up forearm. Josh follows with a running clothesline and he drops the straps. Josh puts QT on the top and QT fights him off. Josh runs back up and gets a German Suplex from the top into a torture rack slam for two. Josh goes to the top and QT nails him with a kick to Josh’s face. QT joins Josh on top and Josh knocks QT down. Jean jacks Josh’s arm to knock him down, and QT covers for two.
Josh gets a back slide, dodges the insigiri and grabs an ankle lock. Josh turns it into a sharpshooter and Jean gets on her apron to distract the ref. Jean gives up on the distraction, followed by QT tapping out.
Winner: Josh Alexander.
Sam Leterna is in the back with No Class Bobby Bass, Soul Man Ricky Johnson, Ron Hutchinson, former MLP stars, and as they talk memories, Matt Cardona shows and insults them saying they couldn't cut it and he will take the MPL title back to the US just for them.
Zack Sabre Jr. vs Jonathan Gresham
They shake hands to start the match. They lock up with a greco roman knuckle lock and move to chain wrestling before the break. They trade arm bars and wrist locks. Zack gets a snap mare, but Gresham hangs on for a take-down. Zack gets another snap mare, and Gresham hangs on for a new wristlock. They use spins and flips to break free. Gresham holds out a hand for a shake and Zack kicks the hand away.
Zack forces them into the corner and when Zack tries to whip him to the corner, Gresham sits down to stop the whip, and finally gets an arm drag. Gresham gets on Zack;’s shoulders for an arm drag, but Zack gets an uppercut to break the hold. Zack moves to strikes and then grabs a leg scissor, Zack starts with ankle manipulation and moves to snap the knee. He then grabs a calf cutter and grabs Gresham’s arm to stretch him. He moves to a modified STF into a bow and arrow stretch.
Zack stomps on Gresham’s arm. Gresham gets a snap tejaris and then a drop-kick to Zack’s back, knocking him to the floor. Zach dives into the ring, taking a kick and an arm drag from Gresham. Gresham moves from a side headlock to an ankle capture into a forcing Zack into a calf cutter using Zack’s own legs. They grapple on the mat until Zack bridges out. Gresham brings him back down and it’s back to grappling.
Gresham has control on the mat and when he goes for a pin, Zack is able to escape/ Zach gets a PK and they trade kicks and strikes. Zack goes back to joint manipulation. Zack starts laying in strikes and keeps Gresham on the mat. They run the ropes and Gresham gets an arm drag and they get a quick series of two counts. Zack is able to get the European Clutch for the pin and the win.
Winner: Zack Sabre Jr.
These two always bring out the best in each other, and just an excellent duel of technical wrestling.
They shake hands after the match.
Sam asks Josh Alexander if his shoulder will hurt him in the battle royal and he says it will hurt but he will win the title. Nice promo with a lot of fire. Josh is going white meat Canadian Babyface here.
Miyu Yamashita vs. Serena Deeb
They lock up and Deeb moves quickly to arm bars with Miyu getting reversals. Deeb pulls Miyu down and Miyu turns it into a head scissors as Deeb breaks free. Deeb takes Miyu down with an arm drag. She and Miyu trade arm bars on the mar. Deeb switches to the side headlock. Miyu whips Deeb into the ropes and Deeb gets a shoulder tackle. Deeb follows with a surfboard stretch. Miyu works free and gets a side headlock. Deeb escapes into an octopus hold on Miyu.
Deeb gets an arm bar whip to the mat. She follows with a leg capture twist. Miyu gets an arm drag and then a big kick on Deeb. She follows with a snap mare and a PK. Miyu lays in a quick series of kicks and a running kick on Deeb in the ropes. They fight into the corner and Deeb gets a dragon screw in the corner and then goes to work on the same leg.
Deeb hooks into the legs and fishhooks Miyu’s face. Deeb wraps the legs and keeps up the work on Miyu’s leg, and Miyu lays in blows to free herself. Miyu gets a quick back and forth with strikes and follows with a lariat for two. Miyu gets a series of kicks and Deeb captures the leg and follows with an uppercut. Deeb comes off the ropes with a clothesline and Deeb gets a neckbreaker in the ropes.
Deeb hits the Pepsi twist for two. Miyu is able to reverse a hold into a fireman’s carry, nails Deeb with knees while Deeb is hoisted, then hits snake eyes and follows with a Death Valley Driver for two. Deeb gets a German suplex off the ropes and Miyu follows with one of her own. They clothesline each other down.
They get to their feet and throw strikes at each other. Miyu lays in kicks and finally Deeb is dropped and Miyu covers for two. Miyu gets a skull kick and Deeb is knocked to the floor. Miyu tosses Deeb back into the ring. Deeb shoves Miyu at the ref, and when Miyu stops short, Deeb hits a chop block and follows with Death by Deebs for the pin and the win.
Winner: Serena Deeb
PCO cuts a promo in the back about holding the Internation title like his heroes before him, and tonight he will win the MLP Title in the gauntlet.
