BULL NAKANO APPEARS, CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH SET, LIVE NOTES & MORE: COMPLETE SUKEBAN PREMIERE EVENT COVERAGE FROM NYC

By Mike Johnson on 2023-09-21 19:36:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing coverage of the Sukeban premiere event from Capitale in NYC.

PRE-SHOW NOTES:

Tonight's show will stream live on the promotion's Tik Tok channel at this link.   Veda Scott and Sam Leterna will be the broadcast team.

The arena has been set up to feel like Shin-Kiba 1st Ring from Tokyo, right down to Sukeban branded pillows for fans to sit on at each level.

When fans entered the building, the lobby was decorated to look like a Japanese fair with free popcorn, drinks and snacks for everyone as they waited to enter the arena.  The promotion did a great job setting this up.

The promotion has also some really high end looking posters, hoodies, shirts and Tote bags featuring the Sukeban logo as well as the logos of the different factions.

Speedball Mike Bailey is here working behind the scenes.

The promotion has a live DJ playing and mixing music.  At one point, he played Faith No More and I was a very happy soul.

The legendary Vladimir the Superfan and Ringside Charlie are sitting front row.

AEW's Emi Sakura is here visiting.

Looks like about 750 fans here.  They sold out within 90 minutes and then added some additional seats to their wait list, which we are told sold out within a minute of being released.

Since all the talents are portraying new personas for this promotion, I will likely do coverage using those names and after, go back in and denote which talents are portraying them.

The show began at 8 PM on the dot with a video feature explaining the promotion and the different factions.

The ring announcer came to the ring, announcing each faction as well as The Stray Cat.

SUKEBAN PREMIERE

Cherry Bomb Girls - Crush Yuu, Supersonic, Riko Blondie vs. The Vandals -  Atomic Banshee, Otaku-chan, BINGO

The masked Supersonic started with Otaku-Chan, who grabbed a side headlocked and worked her over.  Otaki sent her into the ropes and they criss crossed back and forth before Otaku hit an armdrag and they faced.  Bingo and Riko tagged in but Riko was quickly tossed out.  This led to Crush and Banshee hitting the ring.  Crush used her might to fight off Banshee and finally took her down with a big kick.  She controlled Crush but couldn't score the pinfall.

Supersonic and Riko quickly tagged in, working over Banshee.  The crowd chante for Banshee to make the comeback and she finally nailed a DDT before crawling back to her corner.  BINGO tagged in and rained down with right hands.  The Cherry Bomb Girls attacked but BINGO tricked them into running into each other.  She faced off with Crush and stomped her foot.  She tossed Riko into her own partner and kicked her, making her give Crush a jawbreaker.  BINGO scored a two count on Riko.

Crush tagged back in and unloaded hard with chops on poor BINGO.  Oktaku-Chan, the smallest competitor, was going to step up to Crush but thought better of it.  Everyone battled.  Crush nailed Otaku-Chan with a back senton splash but somehow she kicked up, which got a big pop.  Crush nailed one off the ropes and that was it.

Your winners, Cherry Bomb Girls - Crush Yuu, Supersonic, Riko Blondie!

This was a lot of fun.

Special Attraction Three-way Match: Saki Bimi vs. Queen of Hearts (Miyuki Takase) vs. KONAMI

KONAMI was a mystery opponent and NYC popped huge.

Lots of arm drag takedowns and near falls early on before they faced off to a round of applause.  KONAMI grabbed Bimi in a camel clutch.  Hearts added a Boston Crab, so it was a double submission.  The crowd chanted for Saki.  Heart and KONAMI double teamed Bimi, sending each other into the corner.  Hearts nailed a snapmare and set up KONAMI to nailed a kick to the back.

They controlled Bimi for a long time, giving the crowd a reason to sympathize with her.  Her opponents took turns giving her hair mares and tossing her across the ring,  Hearts and KONAMI soon turned on each other, allowing Bimi to nail them with a double bulldog.  The crowd popped and chanted for her - so simple but effective.  Bimi cleaned house and placed Hearts across the top.  She knocked her into the ring and came off the ropes with a Vader Bomb for a two count.  Hearts came back with a big dropkick and locked on an abdominal stretch. KONAMI grabbed her in one, which allowed Bimi to slip around and locked them both in a submission.

They all started wailing away on each other with forearms.  Bimi and KONAMI finally had enough and took out Hearts with a double boot.  KONAMI offered Bimi a handshake but they turned on each other and began forearming each other.  Bimi caught her with a big boot as she rebounded off the ropes.  KONAMI came back with a great German suplex with a bridge for a two count.  Bimi came back to lock her in a pendulum submission before dropping her to the mat.   They went into a series of near falls.

Queen grabbed Bimi from the outside and called for KONAMI to nail her, but Bimi moved and Queen was knocked off the apron to the floor.  Bimi tried to go for a powerbomb but was rolled up and pinned.

Your winner, KONAMI!

Super entertaining three-way.

The atmosphere and ambiance of the environment makes this so much fun live.
