By Richard Trionfo on 2022-04-02 11:59:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com’s coverage of NXT Stand and Deliver from Dallas, Texas.

Your host is McKenzie Mitchell and she is joined by Beth Phoenix and Sam Roberts.

Sam mentions that this it he first time that many of these superstars wrestle on this big of a stage. Beth says she has watched so many claw their way up to this point and she is excited to watch them deliver.

They run through the card for tonight’s show.

We see Bron Breakker arriving at the building earlier today.

We also see Tommaso Ciampa arriving at the building.

Sam says that it seems like it is Ciampa’s last match in NXT. Is tonight Ciampa’s retirement match? Beth says there is so much risk when you walk into the ring. He has created a legacy and Ciampa is resilient. He keeps getting back up and there is no way his career ends tonight.

McKenzie asks Sam his favorite Ciampa moment. Sam mentions his match against Johnny Gargano at Takeover Chicago in 2017. Beth says her favorite moment was when he won the NXT Championship the second time in November 2021. Ciampa took the torch for NXT again that night.

Sam says Ciampa executes incredible moments. If this is his last night, he will burn this house down and bury Tony D’Angelo under the ashes. Beth says Tony knows how to play the game, but he won’t outplay Tommaso Ciampa.

We have a video package for the NXT Women’s Championship Match.

Kayla Braxton and Peter Rosenberg join us to talk about the Women’s Championship Match.

Peter says it is a fan’s dream to have Stand and Deliver into Wrestlemania. He says he might be a little emotional but she is going with the girlhood dream of Cora Jade. He believes that someone who loves this as much will thrive in the situation. Kayla mentions Mandy Rose. She is used to this big stage. She things Mandy will win.

Kayla and Peter talk about Gigi and Jacy’s match as well.

Beth says Cora Jade has momentum and that will count tonight. Sam says the moment may be escaping Cora. Is it her time now? Mandy Rose is here to conduct business.

They mention the Women’s Tag Title Match.

We go to footage from yesterday when Trick Williams tells Carmelo Hayes they have been running things for five months. Carmelo says that he has brought the North American title to new heights and I will continue to do so when I am at the top of the ladder tomorrow. When I shoot, I don’t miss.

We see Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams with the referee in the locker room

We see footage of Gunther arriving with the NXT Tag Team Champions.

We see LA Knight arriving at the building.

They talk about LA Knight and Gunther.

McKenzie says they have different mindsets but it will be hard hitting. Sam says Gunther only participates in matches that are hard hitting. LA Knight’s ego might not be able to see that. Beth says a hard hitting style can work, but LA Knight uses the cerebral game. If you can throw Gunther off his game, you can beat him. Sam says you can’t outsmart someone when their jaw is broken.

McKenzie asks if LA Knight is the epitome of a WWE superstar. Beth agrees and she wonders if Knight can take down Gunther.

Sam mentions the tag title match.

Malcolm Bivens joins McKenzie, Sam, and Beth. Malcolm says it doesn’t get any bigger than this. This is a big money match. Sam says there are other things to consider. He says he felt like he was in danger talking to Imperium, but how can the Creeds compete with them. Malcolm says that money is the biggest motivation.

McKenzie mentions MSK and Beth says her heart is with MSK. She thinks it is MSK’s night. Sam picks the Creeds (because he is afraid of Malcolm).

Edris Enofe shows up and he says it is about his boy Malik The Freak.

Malik asks if it is ‘big enough’ and he says that this would be a nice gesture for Mandy because she has a big match. Edris tells Malik to be man. Edris tells Malik to just walk in because what can happen.

Malik enters the room and Edris takes off the Toxic Attraction sign and reveals that Malik walked into Imperium’s locker room. Edris tells Malik ‘April Fools’ and Malik reminds Edris it is April 2nd.

We go to footage from yesterday with Grayson Waller and Sanga. He says Melo has been a great champion but your time is up. It is time for the title to go viral. He likes the view from here, but it will look better on top of the ladder. Wrestlemania week will feel the Grayson Waller Effect.

We are back with Legado Del Fantasma. He says he climbed the ladder last year but this one will mean more. They will see Santos Escobar become the greatest luchador. He leaves four other superstars in the dust, climb the ladder, and get the North American Championship. I do it for history. I do it for legacy. I do it for family.

Akbar Gbaja-Biamila joins Sam and McKenzie. They ask him about the Persia/Duke and Indi/Dexter stuff going on.

We go to a Dexter Lumis makeover with Indi Hartwell.

We go to Duke and Persia and Duke complains about being in a store for an hour and Persia says an hour usually isn’t a problem for him.

We see that they are having makeovers in the same store. Indi and Persia argue about which one of their men will look better.

We see both couples in the back and McKenzie tells everyone to vote for which couple you prefer.

McKenzie asks Akbar how it feels to be in the building. He mentions the drama, action, and excitement. Sam asks if there is anything he is looking forward to and Akbar mentions Bron Breakker and Dolph Ziggler.

Sam mentions the North American Championship Ladder Match.

McKenzie asks Akbar who he thinks has the skill to win. Akbar says he is going with Carmelo because he has the athleticism and the ruthless aggression. Sam asks about Grayson Waller, a man who thinks things through, unlike others on the roster. Akbar says Grayson is a student of the game. The one flaw he sees is that he is a clout chaster. He tells Grayson to do his job. McKenzie mentions Cameron Grimes’ reason for wanting to win. Akbar mentions how he had one of his best games thinking about his wife’s passing. Sam brings up Santos Escobar. Akbar says he does not know if Escobar can do it without Legado’s help. McKenzie asks Akbar about Carmelo’s cockiness. He says every athlete has to be confident. All he has done is go up on the ladder.

Sam moves on to the NXT Championship Match.

Akbar says that Dolph is intoxicated by his greatness.

We have a video package for the match.

Dolph Ziggler walks in the building with Robert Roode.

McKenzie mentions how shocking it was for Dolph to win the title. Sam says that Dolph has been at the top of his game for years and one of the top sports entertainers. He says it is a shock that people were surprised he would win. Akbar mentions that Bron is someone who can break someone in half. McKenzie asks if Bron being in his first big match will affect him. Akbar says that Bron is the underdog and he could beat Dolph tonight. Sam says everyone thought Bron would be the star and now he has to back it up.
