Night Two 5/4/25
1 - Batten Burabura and Mentai Kid vs. Gedo and Taiji Ishimori
This was a comedy opening match. Both Burabura and Mentai Kid are from Kyushu Pro Wrestling, an independent promotion.
Ishimori pins Burabura with a Gedo Clutch.
2 - Master Wato and YOSHI-HASHI vs. Jakob Austin Young and Great O-Khan
Wato pins Young with Tsutenkaku (bridging German suplex).
3 - Stardom Match: KOGUMA, Hazuki and Maika vs. Yuma Mizumori, AZM and Starlight Kid
Hazuki pins Mizumori with a brainbuster.
4 - Boltin Oleg and El Phantasmo vs. Rocky Romero and Konosuke Takeshita
Oleg pins Romero after a Kamikaze.
5 - Tajiri, Chikuzen Ryota, YOH, Toru Yano and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Hartley Jackson, Kosei Fujita, Robbie Eagles, Ryohei Oiwa and Zack Sabre Jr.
Tajiri, theJapanese Buzzsaw returns to New Japan after 14 years.
ZSJ challenges Tajiri to start the match. Good wrestling between both men. Awesome stuff.
Jackson picked up Tanahashi on his shoulders. Tajiri sprayed the green mist into Jackson’s face. Ryota hits a Slingblade. Tanahashi hits a High Fly Flow.
Tanahashi pins Jackson.
Tajiri looks good after all these years.
6 - TAKA Michinoku, Taichi, Tomohiro Ishii and Shota Umino vs. BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi, Tetsuya Naito and Shingo Takagi
The pop for Los Ingobernales de Japon was huge, particularly for BUSHI and Tetsuya Naito in their last match for New Japan.
Naito was emotional in his last walk down the ramp.
Naito hits a Destino on Taichi. BUSHI with a tope suicida on Umino
Takagi pins TAKA after hitting the Burning Dragon.
After the match, Naito gives one more LIJ fist bump, while the fans chant his name.
7 - IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship: Yuya Uemura vs. Yota Tsuji
Good match. Uemura and Tsuji both had submission game plans. Uemura weakened Tsuji with a figure four. Uemura hit a German suplex. Two count. Uemura with a top rope splash. Two count. Uemura goes for a Deadbolt but Tsuji reverses into a Stunner. Uemura hits a Deadbolt but is unable to get the pin. Tsuji hits a Gene Blaster.
Tsuji pins Uemura.
Yota Tsuji retains the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship.
After the match, Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi, BUSHI and Tetsuya Naito come to the ring. They pose as a group one last time. Naito gives the final LIJ fist bump.
Naito and BUSHI leave the ring. Tsuji pays respect to both of them. He puts over both Uemura and Gabe Kidd. Kidd comes to the ring. Kidd says they both got knocked out and Tsuji never beat him. They will meet at Dominion on June 15 for the Global Title.
8 - IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: Callum Newman vs. Hirooki Goto
Good match. Newman was able to match Goto’s pace throughout the bout. He bumped hard and looked like star.
Goto hits a hard GTR and gets the pin.
Hirooki Goto retains the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
Callum Newman has solidified his spot in New Japan with this match.
As Goto gets the mic, Zack Sabre Jr. comes to the ring. He of course demands a rematch. Goto accepts. Shingo Takagi comes to the ring. He wants a shot at the title. Takagi wants to face the winner of their match.
It will be Zack Sabre Jr vs. Hirooki Goto at Resurgence on May 9. Shingo Takagi will face the winner at possibly Dominion on June 15.
Best of the Super Juniors begin on May 10.
