THE FINALS ARE UPON US: WWE LFG EPISODES 12 & 13 REPORT

Drake Morreaux starts off the episode by having some fun. He grabs a camera and starts filming and interviewing some of the Future Greats. The weight of what’s at stake, though, is talked about. Some of the men will be going home at the end of the episode.

Elijah Holyfiend and Chris Island are shown talking about how they have to get things done in order to move on. After that, Shawn Michaels gathers the Legends and male Future Greats. Just like the last episode, the Future Greats will be wrestling their teammates to see who stays and who goes.

Mickie James sits down with Chris Island and Troy Yearwood. Mickie loves that Island and Yearwood have formed a bond with each other. She hates that she has to pick one of them to go home. Yearwood believes that he has a ton of upside. Island has gained a ton of confidence thanks to the WWE accepting him and making him better. 

Bubba Ray stands with BJ Ray and Drake Morreaux. He stands behind them and tells them that he knows why Morreaux should stay and why BJ should go. All the legends think Morreaux should stay and no one knows why Ray is still around. It all comes down to the match against each other, though. Bubba Ray believes in Morreaux. Bubba Ray says that BJ has a legitimate shot because he has personality. Morreaux’s personality has only come out recently.

The Undertaker sits down with Shiloh Hill and Elijah Holyfield. Holyfield has been taught to fit in, but LFG has shown him that it’s more important to stand out. Hill feels that he knows moves, but has learned how to build his character. 

Booker T sits down with Anthony Luke and Jasper Troy. Booker T says that his team is better than all the other Future Greats. Booker asks Luke what he’ll do if he gets cut. Luke says that getting cut isn’t an option. Troy says that he isn’t thinking about getting cut because if Luke gets in the ring, Jasper will (bleep) him up. Troy is the best in the tournament. Luke says that he walked so that Troy could run. Luke has worked harder than anyone else. Troy only missed things because he was in the hospital watching his newborn daughter fight for her life. They get in each other’s faces while shouting until Booker T breaks it up. Jasper Troy, in a talking head segment, talks about the struggles with his newborn daughter and wife. He’s thankful that they are doing better today.

Chris Island and Troy Yearwood are shown getting ready for their match. They both know they have to put on the best match that they can.

Team Mickie Match - Chris Island vs. Troy Yearwood

They lock up and Troy Yearwood drives Chris Island into the corner and then the ropes. Island tries to roll Yearwood off, but the lock up is held. Yearwood drives Island back into the corner and then breaks. Island picks a leg, but Yearwood is able to get up. Island grabs a waistlock and then a side headlock. Island takes Yearwood over. Yearwood tries to roll Island up, but Chris kicks out and keeps a hold of the side headlock. Yearwood works out of it briefly, but Island reapplies the headlock. 

Yearwood is sent into the corner and Island hits a monkey flip for a two count. Yearwood hits a back elbow and a dropkick for a two count. Yearwood kicks at Island and then works him over in the corner. Island is lifted to the top turnbuckle and Yearwood tosses him to the center of the ring. Island kicks out of Yearwood’s cocky pin. Yearwood hits a forearm, but Island starts to fight back. Yearwood cuts him off with some clubbing blows and a suplex for a two count. 

Yearwood slaps on a neck and arm stretch and then rains down some elbows. Island fights back and hits a clothesline, an elbow, and a flying tackle. Island goes for a gutwrench suplex, but Yearwood counters with a roll up for a two count. Yearwood pushes Island off and tries a pin with his feet on the ropes. The referee sees it and stops his count. Island is able to pick a leg and slaps on the ankle lock for the submission win!

Winner: Chris Island

Booker T wants to know what’s up with Troy Yearwood’s gear. It turns out that he bought new gear and was sent the wrong stuff, so he improvised with what he had. Mickie James is happy with the match and says that her choice would have been easier if one of them failed.

Team Undertaker Match - Shiloh Hill vs. Elijah Holyfield

They lock up and jockey for position. Elijah Holyfield is driven into the ropes by Shiloh Hill. They break and Holyfield tries to quickly go after Hill after a push. Hill avoids him and then begs off. Hill hits the ropes and eats a hip toss. Hill rolls to the floor, but Holyfield follows him out and rolls him back into the ring. Holyfield gets a head of steam and hits a clothesline. Holyfield dodges a running attack and then hops up to the second rope. Hill pulls him off and then slaps on an arm stretch. 

Holyfield works out of the hold, but misses a punch. Hill hits a belly-to-back suplex for a two count. Hill slaps on a chinlock. Holyfield works out of it and lays in some punches. Hill bites Holyfield’s ear to cut him off, which pops the Legends. The Undertaker talks about the history of the Mike Tyson/Evander Holyfield ear incident. Back to the match - Holyfield hits a couple of tackles and a corner attack.

Holyfield hits a suplex and a shoulder attack in the corner. Holyfield hits a spinebuster for a two count. Holyfield goes for a punch, but the referee steps in the way. Hill uses the distraction to hit a double underhook slam for the win!

Winner: Shiloh Hill

Bubba Ray thinks Shiloh Hill has been the most consistent performer this season. He loved and hated the biting of the ear, but feels that they didn’t give it the correct amount of time to set in. Booker T is impressed with how quickly Elijah Holyfield has improved. Mickie James agrees and calls Holyfield a star. The Undertaker is happy with the match and feels that he has a hard decision.

Drake Morreaux and BJ Ray are shown getting ready for their match. Roxanne Perez, Morreaux’s girlfriend, fools around with Drake before the match and is there to support him. BJ Ray is ready to show why he deserves to win. Bubba Ray talks about how people would pay to watch BJ Ray get punched in the face.

Team Bubba Match - BJ Ray vs. Drake Morreaux

Drake Morreaux goes for a lock up, but BJ Ray ducks under it and then puts on some of Morreaux’s beads that Drake was handing out during his entrance. Ray tries to grab a single leg, but Morreaux stays on his feet. Morreaux blocks another takedown. He sprawls nicely on a third attempt and then alligator rolls Ray into a pin for a two count. Morreaux hits a splash, but doesn’t stay in the pin.

Ray drives Morreaux into the corner and works him over with some punches and shoulder attacks. Morreaux is sent to the opposite corner and eats another shoulder attack. Ray lifts up Morreaux and carries him into a slam. Ray grabs a waistlock on the mat, but Morreaux works out of it. Ray cuts him off with forearms to the back. Morreaux counters with some punches. Morreaux goes for a slam, but Ray wiggles out and hits a bulldog for a two count. Ray slaps on an abdominal stretch. Morreaux shimmies out of it and hits a hip toss. Morreaux tackles down Ray and then hits some punches. Ray eats an atomic drop and another tackle. Morreaux hits a chokeslam for the win!

Winner: Drake Morreaux

Mickie James says that Drake Morreaux and BJ Ray are two very different athletes. She wants to say bad things about Ray, but he’s entertaining. Bubba Ray talks about how it’s called “World Wrestling ENTERTAINMENT.” It’s more about the entertainment than anything else and, because of that, his decision is tough.

Anthony Luke and Jasper Troy are shown getting ready for their match. Their fight from earlier in the episode is shown again. Luke will do anything to win. Troy is locked in.

Team Booker Match - Jasper Troy vs. Anthony Luke

Jasper Troy tries to get at Anthony Luke during his entrance, but the referee stops him. They stare each other down when the bell rings and then lock up. Troy shoves Luke into the ropes. They lock up again and Troy sends Luke into the ropes and hits a tackle. Luke is able to grab an arm and crank it. Troy drives Luke into the corner, but Luke doesn’t let go of the hold. Troy has to drive Luke into the corner two more times to break the hold. Troy then shoves Luke over the top rope and to the floor. Luke is slow to get back into the ring, but once he does - he eats a big tackle and a splash for a two count.

Troy slaps Luke in the corner and then drags his face across the top rope. Back in the corner, Troy turns Luke around and hits a shoulder attack to his back. Luke is sent across the ring hard into the corner. Troy clubs down on Luke’s back and then splashes him for a two count. Troy grabs a bear hug and cranks it. Luke eventually fights out of it with punches and then kicks Troy in the gut. Luke hits a leaping kick and then a clothesline in the corner. Luke hits a spinebuster for a two count. Luke lifts up Troy, but Troy wiggles out and hits a slam. Troy drags Luke to the corner and hits a Vader Bomb for the win!

Winner: Jasper Troy

Bubba Ray wants to know why Jasper Troy looks annoyed. Troy doesn’t like being so close to the edge. Bubba Ray asks about the tension between Troy and Anthony Luke. Troy says that they talked it out in the ring. Bubba Ray says that this might be the hardest decision of the competition. Booker T is happy with his team.

Before the Legends decide who goes home, they must award the point. Booker T says that his team had the best match. The Undertaker picks Team Booker. Mickie James picks her own team since she’s so far back in the standings, which Booker T doesn’t appreciate. As Booker T rips into the choice, Chris Island laughs - which Bubba Ray rips into. Bubba Ray and Island have some words. Bubba Ray picks Team Booker. Team Booker gets the point.

It is time for the Legends to decide who stays and who goes home…

Mickie James thinks both members of her team will go on to do great things. Troy Yearwood has to keep developing his personality while Chris Island has to learn how to stay quiet sometimes. Mickie picks Chris Island to stay.

The Undertaker is proud of both Shiloh Hill and Elijah Holyfield. He can’t believe how close Holyfield made the choice based off of how long he’s been with WWE. The Undertaker picks Shiloh Hill to stay.

Bubba Ray reminds his team members that their future is in his hands. It all comes down to who can put asses in seats. Bubba Ray picks BJ Ray to stay.

Booker T hates that he has to choose between Anthony Luke and Jasper Troy. They both have stepped up. There’s one thing that stood out, though - Anthony Luke’s spinebuster. It reminded the Legends of The Rock. Anyone who has tried to be The Rock has failed. Therefore, Booker T picks Jasper Troy to stay.

The Legends talk about how Jasper Troy is taking the competition very seriously and The Undertaker says that he’s treating it like the Legends used to back in the day. Troy calls his wife to give her the good news.

Next week - the LFG semi-finals begin. Two women and two men will move on to the finals to go for the NXT contract in Madison Square Garden.
