KYLE AND ADAM GO TO WAR, NXT TITLE TIME, CAN THE WAY LEAVE WITH GOLD, WOMEN'S TAG TITLES BEING DEFENDED, OPENING WITH THE LADDER MATCH, WE HAVE NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS FOR THE TAG TITLES: FULL NIGHT TWO NXT TAKEOVER: STAND AND DELIVER BLOG

Reed is in control early.  They are selling that he worked a lot last night so that could factor into the finish.  Reed is using his size to toss Johnny around until Johnny got in some shots but couldn’t put him down.  Austin Theory is at ringside for Johnny.

Gargano thought he had Reed but got caught on the floor when he launched himself.  But Johnny raked the eyes and pushed Reed into the corner of the announce table.  That allowed him to get control of the match.  Well, for a few minutes anyway.

Reed is a strong dude, that’s for sure.  He got a two after dusting Johnny.  He is selling the midsection.  He is also really agile.  This is good big man/little man because of the rib sell.

Johnny just put on the Lock but Reed made it to the ropes.  Reed had him but missed the Tsunami off of the ropes.  Gargano got a two with a kick to the head.  Reed went for the Tsunami again but Theory popped up and Reed hit him.  Johnny used that to crotch Reed.  Reed is sitting on the top and Johnny is going for the rana, but he slipped out.  Reed grabbed him and hit a powerbomb.  Theory put Johnny’s leg on the rope at two.  Reed went to the floor to attack him and Johnny came flying on him but they were both left laying.  Reed then did a tope and wiped out Theory.  Johnny tried to take advantage but got laid out for a two.  Johnny fought though and hit two superkicks but Reed hit one himself.  He went up but missed the moonsault.  Johnny hit two quick One Final Beats to retain his Title.

This is one of those matches where a person loses but comes out more important.  Great performance by Reed and give he wrestled last night and Theory helped the champ, the loss doesn’t hurt him a bit.

This was a strong Big Man-Little Man match.

They killed my post match buzz with an insipid commercial with Alexa Bliss and Randy Orton.  Ugh.

So far there are no commercials other than WWE.  I think I will stay with the regular Premium on The Cock.  No need to spend an extra five bucks a month.

Finn Balor defends his NXT Title against the guy who never lost his belt, Karrion Kross.  The video package leading up to the match is awesome.

Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch are at ringside watching.  Scarlett has piercings in her cheeks.  She knows how to bring the crazy, and I mean that in the best possible way.

I can’t even adequately describe Scarlett’s outfit.  Seriously.  Kross has a Roman gladiator gimmick on over his tights.

Great entrances by both guys.  They come across as stars who should be fighting for the Title.  That is all I ask for when I see a Title match.

Finn is being cocky early and it ticked off Kross. But as he gets Kross mad, Finn laughs.  The story early is that Finn is using Kross' anger against him while Kross' physicality keeps getting him back in it.

Finn is working over the left shoulder while Kross comes back with his power.  He had a chance at the pin but he is selling the injury and that cost him the second he needed.  This is storytelling.

Finn thought he had it but he ran into a clothlines and a stiff side suplex.  But Balor came back. Coup de gras from the top, two count only plus Kross reversed it into a submission.  Scarlett is yelling in Romanian at her guy.  He is beating Balor's back with shots.  He hit a German.  Finn looks dead.  Doomsday on Finn.  Finn gets up, Finn goes down.  Kross pounded Finn in the back of the neck and down he goes.  1-2-3, new champion.  Well old champion but you get my drift.  That was a lot of fun.  They worked really hard and told a great story.  Excellent stuff.  I hope that doesn't mean that Finn be called up to the main roster to be used badly.  Again.  With the new night on USA I have hope that won't happen.

Santos Escobar put over Jordan Devlin but reminded us he is the man in the division.

Raquel is in the crowd.  We will hear from her Tuesday.

Kyle O'Reilly and Adam Cole are about to go to war.

Both guys have security around them.  They will be let loose, like rabid dogs.  Kyle is out first.  He gets the pop.  Wade Barrett just said what I typed about the security.  New music for Kyle.  Will Adam get the UE theme?  He shouldn't.  He doesn't.  Good.  Love the theme but the UE is dead, at least for now.  Cole still did the Boom gimmick though.  He had to do Bay Bay himself.  He is not liked by the people in attendance (or the guy at the sound board).

The ref is only there to count the fall.  As Wade said, it started out as a hockey fight.  These two have to be loving this, seriously.

They are on the floor, using everything at their disposal.  Cole want to work on the injured neck.  And after getting dumped to the floor, he has Kyle hurt.

Cole is working Kyle over, like the heel is.

And like a heel, Cole gave his former friend too much guff and it brought Kyle.  Fans in the building want tables.  They will probably get that and more.  Wade called them “a bunch of blood thirsty louts”.  They resemble that remark.  They are doing some plunder and it’s early in the match.  This may get crazy.  Like a flying kick from the apron to a seated Cole on the floor.  Ouch.

Cole tried to use a chair and Kyle punched it into his face, getting a two count.  DAMN!

Kyle brought in a chair but Cole used it on his before he could.  Now they are fighting over it.  Kyle is wrapping it around his leg.  He is using it to kick Adam in the face but he reversed and locked on a Figure Four on O’Reilly using the chain.  But a right hand got him out of it.

Kyle went to run the ropes but Cole pulled up the chain and O”Reilly got it in the face.  Then he used it for a backstabber and got a two.

This is what it should be, a war, not a match.  Moves don’t mean anything when you want to kill the other guy and have the chance to do it.  I am glad they aren’t wrestling.  They shouldn’t be.

Kyle just had a moment of conscience and wouldn’t dust Cole on the ring steps.  Come on man!  Nothing is out of bounds here!

Well he seemed to get that when he suplexed Cole on the announce table.  And it didn’t move a bit.  That is a serious OUCH!

Speaking of which, Kyle just got a big monitor smashed in his face.  He got tossed into the ring and Cole just found a toolbox, which he emptied.  He wants the pliers.  Uh oh.  Luckily Kyle blocked it.  Now he has a tire iron but he got kicked in the knee.  Big clothesline by Kyle.  Brainbuster but Cole kicked out at 2.

Kyle used the chain for a few submissions.  Us he out?  No.  He used the tire iron to the gizzard.  I love the word gizzard, as long as no one hits me in mine with a tire iron.

They are chanting FIGHT FOREVER.  That’s what they are doing, fighting.

They are sitting in chairs, across from each other.  They spoke, but then they threw hands.  And in Cole’s case a nut shot.  Then a superkick.  In slo mo it looked STIFF.  Cole gave Kyle a chair necklace and then grabbed another.  He went to use it and the ref said don’t.  Cole said shut up so he hit the ref.  He can’t get DQ’d but Roddy and/or Fish could come out now.  Well, they could anyway.  Cole hit Panama Sunrise but the dumb ass just hit the ref so guess what, when you say get up he isn’t going to listen to you either!

Cole told the ref he has one job.  Too funny.  He went to the floor, where he threw a chair into Kyle’s head.  Don’t like that in CTE 2021.  Cole is attacking on the floor when Kyle throws him into the barricade.  Kyle put on the choke but Cole rammed him into the barricade.

Cole was looking to ram Kyle into the barricade when Kyle locked on the choke.  Cole jumped and went through the ramp way (think Taz vs. Bigelow if you are an old fart like me).  Cole came out first.  Cole’s hand is bleeding.  He kicked out the side of the ramp way and pulled out Kyle.  The ref is back up.  They are both showing worse for wear but they are back in the ring.  Well, Kyle just fell out.  So, Cole suplexed him on the steps.

Cole tossed him back in the ring two count only.  Kyle HAS to win this.  He has to.

Cole is went for One Last Shot but Kyle couldn’t stay up for it.  Cole is talking smack, he went for it again.  Kyle rolled through and grabbed the legs.  Cole grabbed the chain and hit him with it.

Kyle knows now is the time.  He pulled down the brace and hit the Last Shot but Cole kicked out at 2.

Kyle is going up to the top.  But he got hit with a chair.

Cole set up a chair to kill Kyle.  But he talked and Kyle gave him a nut shot.  He used the chain around his leg.  Knee to the back into the chair.  1-2-3.  Kyle wins!

That was a war and EXACTLY what it should have been in every way.  Great match to end a great show!  Thanks for reading.
