RED VS. GANGONE NO ROPES, ARIES DEFENDS IMPACT TITLE, CALLIHAN VS. LOW KI, SURPRISE APPEARANCE OF WWE HALL OF FAMER: HOUSE OF GLORY 'HIGH INTENSITY 7' COVERAGE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-08-17 19:19:00

HOG Crown Jewel Champion Sami Callihan vs. Low Ki.

Callihan attacked Ki before the bell and worked him over.  They went to the floor, where Low Ki took the fight back to him and they went all over ringside.  Ki hit an intense kick through the ropes to the floor.  He sent Callihan hard into the barricades.  They were lobbing bombs at each other on the floor.   Ki charged at him but was dropped across top of barricade.  Ki returned to the ring but was tossed back out.  He hit a dive low through the ropes, sending Ki into the crowd.  Ki returned right before the ten count.  They battle resumed on the floor.   They returned to the ring, chopping each other.  Callihan nailed a catapult towards the buckles but I landed on them and rebounded off with a double stomp.  Callihan came back with a powerbomb and locked on the Stuff Muffler.  Ki fought his way out and went for a kick but Callihan nailed him with a low blow and was DQ’d.  That finish sucked unless they are coming back with some stipulation rematch down the line.  The work was very good.

After the match, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley came out and faced off with Callihan, who went to hit him.  Callihan was stopped and hit with a powerbomb.  Ray cut a promo saying that if you didn't want to come to him, he'll come to you.  He said he may be the Callihan Death Machine, but do you know who I am?  The New York City Death Machine.  The crowd popped and chanted "ECW."

In a 5 on 5 Elimination Tag Team Match, Team House of Glory (Team Captain Leroy Green & The Mane Event (Midas Black & J-Lyon) & Larger than Life (Brian Burgandy & TJ Marconi) defeated The House of Gangone (Team Captain Juba & Smiley & Thomas Odin & Bonez & Ezekiel Lewis).   All sorts of ridiculous dives.  Too much to recap.   It came down to Leroy being left.  He was able to fight back and eliminate the others on Team Gangone, leaving him with Smiley.  Smiley gave him a brainbuster onto the top turnbuckle and scored the pin.

Austin Aries' Impact Wrestling Heavyweight Championship Open Challenge.

Ken Broadway took the challenge.  He has a hell of an entrance and has been a featured player here.  He had Aries in a head scissor but Aries bounced out and nailed a dropkick.   Aries mocked Broadway who fired up.  He went for a dive but Aries got out of the way.  Broadway came off the apron and nailed him.   Broadway reversed a whip on the floor and sent Aries into the railing.   Back in the ring, Aries worked over Broadway's shoulder for a long time.   Broadway came back with a double jump moonsault.  Aries went for a dive but was nailed with a big elbow as he hit the ropes.  Good, solid match thus far.  Broadway garnered a CLOOOOOOSE two count with a running knee but Aries grabbed the ropes.  Aries came back and nailed the brainbuster for the pin.  Good match.  Broadway has something.  He's hasn't completely found himself as a performer but you can see he's on his way.

They announced Callihan vs. Bully Ray for 10/5.

HOG Champion The Amazing Red vs. “One Above All” Anthony Gangone - No Ropes Match.

The stipulations are that if Red loses, he loses the title and must join The House of Gangone.  If Gangone loses, he cannot get another title shot for as long as Red is Champion.

Red attacked Gangone out of nowhere and knocked him from the ring, then dove off the apron to nail him.  They brawled around the ringside area.  They finally battled back into the ring, where Red dropkicked Gangone out of the ring into the barricade.  The crowd popped HUGE for this and chanted, “Holy sh**!”  Gangone came back and powerbombed Red from the floor into the ring.   Gangone brought a kendo stick into the ring and began beating Red with it.  He tried to whip Red into the ringpost but Red blocked it.  Gangone tossed a chain into the ring.  Red was busted open.  Gangone went for a DDT but was shoved into the ringpost.  Red drilled him with a chair.  The referee was accidentally knocked out.  Red nailed a tiltowhirl DDT for a two count.  Red went under the ring and brought a table into the ring.  He and Gangone battled back and forth with chops and strikes.  Red grabbed him and hit a Spanish Fly out of the ring through the table on the floor.  The crowd chanted "HOG."   Gangone bridged a table between the ring and the rail.  He went to kick Red through it but instead the ref was hit and went flying through the table.  Red was hit with Sliced Bread #2 and locked in cattle mutiliation.  Red escaped then turned a powerbomb attempt into a sunset flip.  With no ref, the company's authority figure took off his shirt to reveal a referee's shirt and counted the near fall.  Red grabbed a bag and they were full of tacks.  Gangone nailed a low blow.  He slammed Red down on the tacks but Red got his shoulder up when Gangone went for the pinfall.  Gangone set up a BIG ladder outside the ring.  He began climbing it but Red nailed him with a chair to the back.  Red dove off the ladder with a double stomp, drilling Gangone's face into a chair.  He covered Gangone but pulled him up before the three count.  He slammed Gangone into the tacks.  Red climbed to the top of the ringpost and hit a frog splash for a two count.  Red had words with the authority figure and nailed him with a chair, taking him out.    Red began pulling the ring apart.    Red climbed to the top of the ladder but Gangone nailed him with a chair.  Gangone climbed up and nailed a superplex from the top of the ladder down to the ring.  OUCH.  Gangone recovered first and grabbed the chain but was kicked in the groin by Red.  Gangone was trapped in a submission but there was no rferee.  Brian XL came down to ringside and Red began arguing with him.  Gangone charged but Red wrapped a chain around his throat and climbed on his back with a sleeper.  Gangone dove backwards onto the entrance ramp and it sounded brutal, with Red being driven into it.  Gangone piledrove him into the ramp.  The crowd chanted for Red to make a comeback.  Gangone brought him back to the ring, used the chains on him and began stomping away on him.  Brian XL tossed a towel in to end the match.  Gangone took the towel and tossed it back out of the ring.  Gangone nailed a knee to the face and finally scored the pin to win the title.  Red is forced to join the House of Gangone.

Your winner and new HOG Champion Anthony Gangone!

This was an absolutely great main event.  Not only was this the best match of Gangone's career, but it was the best Red match I can recall in a long time.  This was absolutely a PPV main event style bout with all sorts of twists and turns over the course of the bout.  Everyone involved did a great job.
