The semi main event will be Nia Jax defending the Raw Women's Title against Ronda Rousey, in her first singles match.
Yeah, that kind of scares me to write...Will WWE say that the pub that Rousey gets is worth having her win the belt in his first singles match? We shall see.
The champ is out first. At least they said it was her champ's choice to come out first. Ronda is smiling, as usual. She is over with the fans. Nia got some love too.
Nia charged her to start the match and tossed her around. Ronda tried to get back but Nia kept after her. Rousey tried to lock on the choke. The fans are split. Nia used a sit out powerbomb to break the submission attempt. Ronda is dazed. She tried to get up but fell through the ropes to the floor. Nia picked her up and slammed her sideways into the barricade. Ronda managed to kick out at two. She tried to throw some blows but Nia kept working her over. Another near fall.
Nia came in and Ronda jumped on her and did a guillotine. Nia used power to get out and then threw Ronda around. She locked in a bearhug. But Ronda managed to get out of it with a shot to the head. But she ran into a Samoan Drop for a two count.
Nia went for a legdrop but Ronda moved. Nia went for a spear in the corner but Ronda moved. Ronda locked an armbar on but she was in the rops so she had to break at five. Ronda got on the apron and went to the top. She hit a splash for a two. Ronda hulked up. She started throwing hands and kicks. She did a judo throw, which was impressive as hell, to get a two.
Ronda went for the arm and locked on the arm bar but Nia rolled it into a pin to break it. Ronda did a uranage and went for the arm bar again. She finally got it when Alexa Bliss came in with the briefcase and destroyed Ronda. And also Nia. She worked Ronda over by throwing her in the post. She then thought cashing in and bit instead hit Ronda with the case and threw her over the announce table. Nia got up so Bliss hit her with the case a few times. She cashed it in. Here we go. Nia vs. Alexa.
DDT but Bliss on Nia. She grabbed the injured arm and stomped it. She went to the top. Twisted Bliss. 1-2-3. Alexa is your new Rw Women's Champion.
Tremendous segment. Ronda and Nia had a great match. Ronda looked amazing. Nia looked amazing. And then Alexa came out and did what she does. Now, two monsters are going to hate five feet of fury. Three way at SummerSlam? Whatever happens, this was great stuff.
The men's MITB match is our main event and up next.
The last guy out was the New Day's entrant. All three came out. E faked it would be him. Then X acted like it would be him. He tore off his shirt and it said KOFI on his chest. Kofi is the New Day's guy. The fans like that.
Everyone went after Strowman at the bell. It didn't last long as he made his own save. He went to the floor for a ladder but the other guys went back to work on him. They buried him under a bunch of ladders. Miz tried to sneak up a ladder for the case but Joe stopped him.
Kofi was the next one to rey but KO stopped him. KO went up but Finn Balor met him. Down they went. Now it's time to jockey for position.
KO put Balor on an announce table and set up a ladder on the floor in front og it. Rather than go for the case he went up. Rusev went up the ladder so KO had to run in the ring to stop him. And plunder ensued.
Kofi landed on everyone on the floor, and then Balor did too. Finn went up for a ladder and that brought Braun back to life. So everyone went after him again.
KO got people to work on Braun and put him on a table. Joe locked on the clutch as Braun was fighting back. KO kicked Braun in the face and Joe said go up on the high ladder. Rusev and Joe couldn't hold Braun down and he got up as KO was on top of the ladder. KO ran down but Braun ran up and caught him and pulled him back up. He threw KO off of the ladder through the table, which was a LONG way down! Braun then went to work.
Finn and Roode tried to use a ladder on him and he ran throught it, knocking them down. Miz tried to get the case in a hurry but Braun caught him and laid him out. As Braun went up, Joe used a ladded on him and took him to the floor. Finn ran and dropkicked Braun over the barricade.
When the dust settled Rusev cleared the ring. He did a double accolade on Kofi and Roode. Miz gried to break it up but Rusev came back and did a triple. But Joe locked on the Clutch. Rusev came back with a kick and set up the ladder while the fans chanted for him. As he got there Miz pulled down the ladder. Miz wen up and had it but Kofi came up and stopped him. Roode pushed them off of the ladder. Balor cleaned house. He went up to the ladder that was on the floor and did a high Coup on Roode. He went up for the case when Braun came back. Down goes Balor. Then Joe. Then Miz.
Finn went up. Braun on the other side. Kofi jumped on his back and Braun kept going up. Down goes Balor, then Kofi. Braun is up top. He gets the case. He wins MITB.
These guys all worked really hard and took some serious abuse. Braun sold a lot but kept coming back. The crowd popped when he won.
Now he gets to stalk Brock Lesnar....well at least on the nights that he shows up to work. I really hope Braun cashes it in on Raw for a match at Summerslam. We shall see.
