WHO IS THE CHAMP?, FIRST MATCH SET FOR PAYBACK, REIGNS AND SHOW STEAL THE NIGHT, NIKKI VS. NAOMI, DID JOHN CENA LOSE, WELL THE OPENER FINALLY ENDED, TAG TITLE TIME, THE SECOND MATCH IS ON BUT THE FIRST ONE ISN'T OVER - ONGOING EXTREME RULES BLOG

The one thing that jumped out to me during the pre-show were the CM Punk chants. I hope it doesn't make do a long night. Punk is gone already folks.

The pre-show match saw Neville take on Bad News Barrett. This is an interesting match up of guys who have been booked to lose too much. Neville was in control early but BNB got a few near falls. Neville then went up for the Red Arrow but BNB stopped him. He missed a Bullhammer allowing Neville to hit Red Arrow for the win. It was nice to see Neville get the win and it was fine for what it was, a pre-show, replacement match.

Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper is opening the show.

This is a Chicago Street Fight so let the plunder begin. And it has early and Dean has already grabbed a Kendo Stick and is putting it to good use. But then Dean went to use a chair and Harper reversed it and put Dean through it. Harper went to work with the stick. ... Harper tossed Dean into a chair that was prone between the top and middle rope and got a two count. ... They were going back in forth until they went to the back. Luke Harper got in an SUV and went to leave as Dean jumped in and Harper took off. The crowd didn't like it. The announcers were selling that there is no DQ so the match is still on. I am sure we will see them again. Give it a chance people.

In the back, Triple H was on his phone. He told K to find Harper and Ambrose. Seth Rollins came in and H told them it's time for them to stop being babies. They are on the same team. Work together. Seth agrees, but why did Kane through him into a Roman Reigns spear. This led to them bickering back and forth. It has to be to set up what will happen later tonight when we think Kane won't help Seth, but does. H said Seth has a point. Kane has been spending a lot of time lately proving he is the man he used to be. He doesn't want things to fall between the cracks tonight when he is keeper of the gate. The fans chanted boring. Kane said he assures them both he will do what is best for business tonight.

Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler in the Kiss My Arse match is next.

Stop me if you heard this one before.....this match early on was all about Ziggler getting beaten up and selling it. Sheamus kept yelling how little fellas don't belong in his ring. So what Sheamus, you want BIG refs?

But then Zig started throwing right hands and made a comeback. He hit a could of chest bumps but then ate a Sheamus right hand. ... Zig did get a how did that happen two count, but Sheamus took control and got a few of his own. Sheamus set up for the Brogue but got rolled up for two. Zig got a rollup for two. Sheamus with a slam for two. Then out of nowhere Ziggler rolled up Sheamus for the win. Sheamus has to kiss his arse. And he doesn't want to. He went to ringside and said it was only a two count. No it wasn't. He tried to leave through the crowd. A little guy ref stopped him. Back in the ring, he did the "I don't want to" and got close only to walk away. Watching this isn't my proudest moment, I will say that. The crowd is chanting "Pucker Up" though so they like it. Sheamus got down on his knees and did exactly what I expected, he crotched Ziggler. Then he laid him out. That's what you fans get for chanting Pucker Up. It was never going to happen. He's a heel remember? He then took the mic and said as much, no way I would ever kiss your arse. He took Zig's face and rammed it against his arse. And then left.

This show has been pretty pedestrian so far creatively. If they want to keep the free viewers they better step things up. Well, who knows it this will do it. The New Day is taking on Cesaro and Kidd for the Tag Titles in the match which was originally on the pre-show.

New Day is made up of Big E and Kofi, with Xavier at ringside. Early on, Cesaro locked up with E and got to show his power. Then they tagged their partners. New Day went to work on Kidd. Kidd finally made the hot tag and Cesaro went to work on Kofi. Cesaro got a two off of a backbreaker when he caught Kofi in mid air coming off of the top. Cesaro tagged Kid the suplexed Kofi into the ring from the second rope. He is one strong dude. Kidd his a springboard elbow drop but only got two. Big E then did a spear onto Kidd on the floor. Impressive. They had Kidd pinned when Cesaro came in and made the save. Big pop from the crowd. Kofi went for Trouble in Paradise but Kidd caught him and put him in the Sharpshooter. Big E ran right in front of the ref and broke it up. No DQ. WTF? Cesaro laid out Big E with the uppercut and did the Swing on Kofi. Woods got in the way so Natalya stopped him. Big E took out Kidd which allowed Kofi to grab the tights and roll up Cesaro. The match was good. The creative, eh. But the fans are behind the former champs, so good for that anyway.

The panel reminded us that Harper and Ambrose are somewhere in Chicago, not that we are seeing them. Then they showed us Neville beating Barrett on the pre-game.
