Catching up on what's going on across the Indy Landscape. It's been awhile since I've had the time to do this but this was a pretty great week with a lot of news.
Maryland Championship Wrestling
Maryland Championship Wrestling held their annual "Rally In The Ally" to kick off the Baltimore Ravens Football Season at the Della Roses on the Ave in White Marsh on 9/6. The free fan appreciation event was headlined by a Too Cool reunion as they challenged MCW Tag Team champions Napalm & Solo with the champions retaining. They also kicked off the MCW Women's championship tournament as Jessie Kaye (winner of the 2014 Reid Flair scholarship in August, really hard working talent) defeated Renee Michelle (extremely pretty exotic female, won't be shocked to see WWE give her a look one day just based on her look alone) and Amber Rodriquez defeated Kylie Pierce via forfeit. The Athletic Commission would not let Pierce compete due to a hand injury. The storyline had been that Pierce had resigned as MCW Commissioner so she could compete for the title, so they will have to address that going forward. The undercard saw The Brusier beat Hoss Haggod and MCW Rage champion Chuck Lennox beating Brandon Scott & Fenix Fury
MCW will have the biggest undertaking in the promotion's life as they present five shows this October with a ton of names appearing. The MCW schedule for the month:
Friday 10/3 at the Unique Sports Academy (109 Post Office Road) in Waldorf, MD 20602 with a Hart Foundation reunion, MCW champ Matt Hardy, Diamond Dallas Page, Christian York, Black Wall Street, Mandy Leon, Jessie Kaye, Reby Sky, The Bruiser and more.
Saturday 10/4 at the MCW Arena in Joppa, MD with the same crew, including the Hart Foundation, DDP, Hardy, plus Ruckus.
Friday 10/17 at the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department (24801 Three Notch Road) in Hollywood, MD 206 with Lita, Ron Simmons, Bob Holly, Luke Hawx, The Bruiser, Christian York, Shane Strickland, Christian York, The Hell Cats, Black Wall Street and more.
Saturday 10/18 at the Frederick Indoor Sports Center (1845 Brookfield Court) in Frederick , MD with the same crew plus Luke Gallows, Mandy Leon and more.
