Ian Rotten’s IWA Mid-South, which through all the shenanigans and insanity, has still survived over the years, will return to action at the Jammerz Rollerdome in Clarksville, Indiana with Chris Hero returning to the promotion where he first made his name challenging IWA Mid-South champion Kongo Kong, BJ Whitmer vs. Jonathan Gresham, Jimmy Jacobs vs. Ace Perry, JC Bentley vs. Reed Bentley in a Dog Collar Match and more.
Dennis Stamp is booked! Cleveland’s Absolute Intense Wrestling, which is a great little promotion, has booked Stamp for their 2/20 return to Our Lady of Mt Carmel School. Already announced for that show are Colt Cabana vs Chris Sabin. AIW Absolute champion Tim Donst (who is awesome) vs. Rickey Shane Page and Ethan Page & a Dream Partner vs. Eddie Kingston & a Dream Partner.
On Point Wrestling will hold their Anniversary show on 2/7 in Williamstown, NJ at the OTW Arena - Monroe Business Center Building C - Suite 1 with Oz Tyler vs. Sam Shields to crown their first champion in a tournament final, a “Bulldozer's Boxes & Pits of Brutality" Deathmatch†with Kyle The Beast vs. CZW regular "The Bulldozer" Matt Tremont, Drew Blood vs Xavier Cross. Joey Janella vs. Joe Gacy, Gran Akuma, Latin Dragon, plus The Heavy Hitters, Monsta Mack (who has dropped a ton of weight) & Lowlife Louie Ramos. Ben "The Beast" Ortiz, who trained at Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore, is also on the show. I’ve heard good things about OPW.
Mike Morgan’s ACE will be running 2/7 in Union City, NJ at the Jose Marti Freshman Academy with “A Hero’s Welcomeâ€, a show designed to honor the life of Morgan’s 17 year old son Michael Jr., who died in December after he and his brother were struck by a hit and run driver who ran off the road and onto the sidewalk as they, and their sister, were walking home from a movie. The driver was later apprehended in Maryland, where he was hiding under a bed while trying to come up with a way to return to his home country of Guatemala. Michael Jr. had been around the New Jersey independent scene since he was very young working for his father and helping out at a ton of shows. The accident and his passing really tore the heart out of the scene. Scheduled for the show is Jay Lethal vs. Rob Vegas, Crowbar vs. Vince Steele, Dan Maff vs. Stockade (NYWC regular), Eddie Kingston vs. TJ Marconi, a Six Man Aerial Assault match, and a four way for the Diamond Division championship. Steve Perkin’s Big Time Wrestlng has a pretty busy February. On Friday 2/6, they are running Altoona, PA at the Jaffa Shrine in Altoona, PA with Sabu vs. Rhino, Tessa Blanchard (daughter of Tully) vs. Renee Michelle, plus Mick Foley, Kevin Nash, Brodus Clay, Ron Simmons, The Patriot (Tom Brandi) and more appearing. They debut on 2/7 at the Newburgh Academy in Newburgh, NY with Sabu vs. Rhino ina Streetfight, Val Venis vs. Brodus Clay, Blanchard vs. Kasey Ray and more. They are bringing a Ric Flair/Ricky Steamboat reunion (signing and photos before the show) to their 2/20 event at the Vance Middle School in Bristol, TN with Kevin Nash, Jimmy Valiant, Bunkhouse Buck, The Rock N’ Roll Express, BTW champion Flex Armstrong and more.
