Bull Dempsey vs. Mojo Rawley is up next. And that fast, it’s over. Bull destroyed Mojo and beat him with a Flying Headbutt from the top. SQUASH. Bull was booked as a monster.
In the back, Enzo is mad that he didn’t see someone bald. Cass said as soon as they find Marcus he would be bald. The found LeFort and Marcus and Syl ran again. Cass grabbed Marcus, who had a towel on his head, and brought him back to the ring. Enzo pulled off the towel and Marcus had most of his hair gone. He has a few patches, that’s it. Marcus ran to the back as Enzo and Cass enjoyed it.
Enzo said he had a new word to describe Marcus. BAWLD, Bald.
Time for the first of our two main event, Charlotte defending the NXT Women’s Title vs. Bayley. They recapped how Bayley beat Sasha. Twice. They did an emotional story about Bayley. Charlotte came on and showed no respect to her. She even used the “learn to love it†line her dad Ric Flair made famous.
Bayley came out first. Then the champ. Bayley had a good burst early but then Charlotte took control. They did some spots where Bayley would get a cover, but Charlotte kicked out and re-took control. Charlotte has definitely shown steady improvement over the last year. … Charlotte goaded Bayley to fight, and she obliged by nailing some shots. Charlotte came back and got a near fall. Then Charlotte went to the top for a moonsault and Bayley stopped her. Bayley then followed her up to the top and hit a rana, laying both women out. The fans chanted this is awesome. Bayley crawled over for the pin but Charlotte kicked out. Charlotte got a two and then whipped Bayley headfirst into the bottom rope, nasty. Charlotte went up and almost hit a moonsault (it wasn’t perfect) for a two. She then hit Natural Selection to pin Bayley and retain her title. … It was a really good, fun match.
After the match, Sasha Banks came out, into the ring and read Bayley the riot act and then attacked her. Charlotte, pissed, came back and pulled Sasha off of her and threw her in the corner. They sold it like Bayley earned her respect.
They then put over Jojo and the announce job she has done. They told us she sang before the show and we can see it on WWE.com.
Finally, we got the Sami Zayn vignette. The main event is next.
It started out with Sami working with Tyler and Neville working with Kidd. Then it turned into the heels working together and the faces taking the brunt. The heels did a double duplex on Neville on the stage and Zayn on the ramp. The heels dragged Zayn into the ring and worked him over. Neville tried to get in the ring but they laid him out. The heels kept working over Zayn until they got into it themselves. Kidd got a near fall on Breeze after turning on him. He then got one on Zayn.
On a side note, the three person announce team works much better in NXT because they focus on the action.
Anyway, Kidd was still working on Zayn in the ring as Breeze and Neville sold on the floor. Whenever anyone would try to get in, Kidd would take them out. He is carrying the match at this point. It feels like it’s about to pick up. Neville came in but Kidd dumped him out. It didn’t last, as the champ went to work on Kidd and Breeze came in as well. Sami was about to do a tope on the heels on the floor when Adrian stole his spot with a springboard moonsault. This led to Sami facing off with Adrian. Bring it on. They didn’t go long before Tyson came in and broke it up, as the fans were chanting “This is wrestlingâ€. Kidd got a two on Sami with a neck breaker. They did cool spots where Zayn fought out of sharpshooters but Breeze came in with Superkicks to get near falls on everyone. Good stuff. I can’t keep up, you gotta watch it. … For some reason at this point some idiots chanted CM Punk and got booed by the fans whose parents are brother and sister. … They set up a crazy spot with all four guys that I can’t even describe where Sami got a two. Breeze went to the floor when the other three were in the ring. The fans chanted this is wrestling.
Sami then went to work on Kidd but as he ran the ropes Neville blasted him in the face with a kick. Neville went up for Red Arrow and hit it on Zayn. Breeze poached the pin but Sami kicked out. The crowd went nuts. They want Sami to win BADLY. Breeze went for the Beauty Shot by Sami ducked and Kidd locked in the Sharpshooter. Breeze was about to tap when Neville dove in and caught the arm before he could. Very cool spot.
Sami then faced off with the champ until Neville ran and Sami ducked him, dropping Neville to the floor. Sami hit an Exploder on Kidd, a tope on Neville a DDT on Breeze and then nailed Kidd. He had him pinned but Neville pulled the ref out to save his title, which is legal. Zayn was pissed and went to the floor but Neville nailed him with a kick to the mush. Neville went to the top and hit Red Arrow on Kidd to win and retain his belt. That was a great, great match. I mean stupid good and worth going out of your way to watch. And now Zayn and Neville have some issues to follow starting next week. They did a great job of leaving me wanting more.
Overall, it was a really good show with a strong opener, a strong Women’s Title match and great main event. It was worth the $9.99 for the month just for this show. Thanks for reading!
