Time for the WWE Title match. Shinsuke Nakamura is getting his live music intro again. And here comes the man himself.
The fans love to sing along with Shinsuke.
The Singhs then singh along with their man, introducing the champion. Yes, I know that pun was atrocious.
If Great Khali shows up again, Brooklyn riots.
Tom Phillips said Jinder has gone from an upstart to a dominant champion. Tom called the Punjabi Prison match and he still said that. Vince is in the headsets for sure. Jinder has not been a dominant champion, not by a long shot.
Nakamura was in control early, which led to a 3MB chant. Ouch. With an assist from the Singhs, Jinder took control and went to work on him on the mat.
Nakamura came back with kicks and went to work. He locked on the Triangle but Jinder made the rope. Shinsuke missed the Kinshasa and Jinder blasted him with a knee but he missed the spear and hit the post. Nakamura then let the Singhs distract him and that led Jinder to hit his finish for the win. So a one-armed Randy Orton could beat these three and almost Khali, but Nakamura can't.
The match was fine for what it was, but it was anti-climatic. And the finish came out of nowhere. It doesn't make Nakamura look good at all.
Main Event time, Fatal Four Way for the Universal Title.
Braun Strowman is out first. Then Joe. Before he even came out, they had the boos ready for Roman Reigns. If they have him win and the Shield reunites and the fans pop, Stu Carapola would have called it and Mike Eps and I will have the greatest show ever next weekend. Finally, out came Brock, with Paul Heyman. First pin wins.
16,128 in the house.
The fans wanted to see Braun and Brock lock up and when they did Braun sent Brock to the floor. Joe locked the Clutch on Brock but Roman came out of nowhere and speared Brock through the barrier. Got got out the way. Braun tossed Joe over the table. It's carnage everywhere. Braun put Brock through a table with a running powerslam. The crowd is hot for this. Stowman is killing everyone, especially Brock. He just did another running powerslam on him through a table.
With Brock on the ground Braun just pushed another announce table on him. Braun is an animal. Heyman is losing his mind. Braun does not need to win. He's already made. The fans are going nuts for this.
Paramedics are at ringside for Brock. He is on a gurney. He is being wheeled out. Brock has taken a beating so far. Through two tables, and a third dropped on him. Brock has been rolled out. Strowman grabbed the ring steps and went to work on Joe and Roman with it. He is a monster.
If Brock doesn't come back, at least he was destroyed, even if he didn't job.
With Braun out for a second, Joe went to work on Roman. Roman came back and drew the ire of the fans. So, Braun came in and attacked him and Joe. They liked that.
Braun is bleeding from the ear area.
Guess who's back? Yep, Brock! He came in and went right after Braun. He is throw hands. But Braun fired back. Brock tossed hjim to the floor. Brock his suplexes on both Roman and Joe.
Brock locked an arm bar on Braun but Braun wouldn't go down. Roman came in and nailed them with forearms, Joe too. Roman hit the spear on Brock. Two count only.
He went for another when Joe came up from behind and locked on the Clutch. Braun kicked them and poweslammed Joe. He had him pinned but Brock pulled the ref out before he could make the three count. Roman nailed Brock with the superman. Roman hit Braun with it as well, but only got a two.
Roman ran into Braun but got powerslammed. Brock broke it up. The fans love it.
Brock went to take out Braun but he fought out. Roman then speared them both. Braun on the floor, Roman and Brock in the ring. Joe came in and tossed Roman and locked the Clutch on Brock. Brock fought out and hit an F5 but Roman broke the count. Roman teeded up a Superman. Brock went to one knee. Another. A third. Down goes Brock. Roman went for the Spear and Brock instead caught him, F5. 1-2-3. Brock retains the Title.
Well, the match was great, no doubt. Everyone worked their asses off and took a ton of abuse. So if you look at it in a vacuum, it was great. If you go a little deeper and realize that once again a part time guy just beat three top guys, with the odds stacked against him, all while he is teasing going back to UFC, well that makes me scratch my head a little bit. OK, a lot.
