STEVIE RICHARDS VS. LUKE HAWX AND MORE: COMPLETE WILDKAT WRESTLING DEBUT IN PHILADELPHIA COVERAGE

By Mike Johnson on 2017-06-10 17:29:00

Ken Dixon & The Bruiser vs. The Handouts.

Dixon and Bruiser seemed to be the villains.  Handouts tagged in and out working over Dixon.   Bruiser tagged in and gained control.     In the end, the Handouts scored the pin.  Decent back and forth tag match.

Rory Gulak vs. Nick Comoroto.

Gulak played the local babyface while Comoroto looked good as a big, burly heel.  Comoroto teased using a chair but instead sat in it as he locked in a chinlock.  Gulak was still above to reverse it, which was funny.  Comoroto nailed a clothesline and worked over Gulak.  He went for a backdrop but Gulak caught him in mid-air and turned it around into a small package for the surprise win.

Your winner, Rory Gulak!

Very good all the way through.

Matt Lancie vs. J Spade

Some very good back and forth wrestling early.  Spade caught Lancie in a kneebar but Lancie made it to the ropes to force the break.  Lancie cut him off and drilled him with forearms in the corner.  Spade came back with some hiptosses and nailed a nice missile dropkick.  Lancie went to the floor but Spade dove off the ropes onto him on the floor.

Lancie cut him off as Spade returned to the ring.  Spade came back with a kick but was caught and slammed down hard for a two count.   Lancie worked over Spade, who came back with a pair of knee strikes and a missile dropkick for a two count.       They kept going back and forth until Lancie nailed a gutbuster.  Spade made a comeback with a spinkick and scored a two count.  Lancie wiped him out with the lariat for a two count.

Spade cut off Lancie on the top and put him in the Torture Rack then flipped him over into a gutbuster.  I liked that spot.  They battled on the top with Spade fighting off Lancie until being snapped with a dragon screw legwhip off the ropes and a lariat for the pin.

Your winner, Matt Lancie!

OVery good.  This seemed to be the match where the unknowns from New Orleans really got over with the crowd with their work.

Homicide vs. Mike Dell vs. LSG.

LSG showed some athleticism early.  Dell hit a nice dive to the outside.  Lots of near falls.  Dell hit a nice scoopslam on Homicide.  LSG broke up the pinfall and battered Dell with forearms.     Homicide gained control with chops and kicks.  He went for a dive but Dell nailed him with a big forearm.   Dell hit a flying bodypress from the top to the floor on both.

Back in the ring, Homicide stopped the Three Amigos and attempted the CopKilla on LSG but Dell returned to the fray and they all battles.  Homicide finally scored the pin.

Your winner, Homicide!

Wildkat Sports champion Stevie Richards vs. Luke Hawx.

Stevie Richards came out to the theme from Rocky wearing a robe based on Apollo Creed's from the film.  I popped huge for that.

They locked up with a lot of intensity, broke and then locked up again.  Luke slammed Stevie down.   He pressed and slammed Stevie.  Luke worked over Richards for a long time, focusing on his arm.   Stevie fired back with a series of knees to the gut.  Luke powered him up and drilled him across the back.  Luke followed up with backbreakers and scored several two counts.   Stevie finally nailed a Steviekick to stun Hawx.

Richards followed up with several clotheslines and a neckbreaker.  Stevie nailed a Steviebomb on Hawx for another two count.  He set up for a Steviekick but Luke grabbed him and powerbombed him for a two count.   Hawx nailed a pumphandle slam for a close two count.   Hawx continued working over Stevie until being hit with an STO and locked in an Anaconda Vice.  Hawx was trapped and tapped.

Your winner and still Wildkat champion, Stevie Richards!

Good main event.

Richards took the mic and said he wanted to thank the fans of Philadelphia and give a big "f*** you" to the fans in New Orleans.

There was a big "Wildkat" chant after Stevie left as Luke got to his feet.

The show was filmed and will air over Wildkat's TV series in New Orleans, the first episodes filmed out of Louisiana.
