ZACK SABRE JR, RICOCHET, TEDDY LONG, RUDE BOY RILEY, ANTHONY GANGONE, MARQ QUEEN & MORE: HOUSE OF GLORY COVERAGE FROM NYC

By Mike Johnson on 2016-12-03 19:41:00

HOG Crown Jewel Champion Ken Broadway vs. Rude Boy Riley.

Riley ducked Broadway and nailed some chops.  They had a pretty physical back and forth early.  Riley caught him in the ropes with a pair of nice looking knees.   He nailed a dive to the outside and then one to one of Broadway's entourage.  Broadway cut him off and stomped away at him in the corner.   They exchanged strikes and punches in the center.  Riley was worked over and tried to kick Broadway off but failed.  Broadway grabbed him by the legs and pulled him out of the corner, slamming him down.  From a pure wrestling standpoint, this is the best thing thus far on the show.

Broadway focused his attack on Riley's legs and then distracted the referee, allowing his entourage to attack Riley.  Broadway used a stepover toe hold to wear Riley down.  Riley caught him with a surprise rollup for a two count and nailed an awesome neckbreaker variation for a two count.    They battled back and forth with chops and punches.

Riley nailed a nice spinning backhand and hit a tope suicida, sending Broadway into the first row.  They battled on the floor.   Riley hit a running big boot on the floor.   Riley came off with a flying double knee strike for a close two count.  He placed Broadway on the top but was fought off.  Broadway went for a sunset flip powerbomb off the top but Riley held on.  Broadway smashed his lower back and used a sideslam off the ropes for a two count.  They started whipping out all sort of big move for near two falls.   Really good stuff.  Riley finally nailed a running knee and had the pinfall but one of Broadway's seconds attacked and they called for the DQ.

Your winner by DQ, Rude Boy Riley!

Another second, Leroy nailed the second.  The story is that Leroy has been abused by Broadway and his minion.  Think Ted DiBiase and Virgil.

Riley clotheslines Broadway over the top to the floor.  He offered Leroy his hand but Leroy wouldn't take it and was going to leave with Broadway.  Riley cut a pretty damn good promo on the mic, pushing Leroy to strike out on his own because the fans want him to do that  He then turned to Broadway and said Riley was now in HOG so his life was about to be a lot more rude.

Riley has a charisma to him like an old school wrestler and carries himself like one.  There's something really special about him and I expect a lot more promoters will start booking him soon.  Broadway had a fun entrance and worked super hard here.

Matthew Ryan Shapirocalled out Brian XL.  He wa carried out unconscious by Ryan's team the Trust.  Ryan demanded Brian make a decision.  He said No.  They began beating him.  Some of the babyfaces came out to clear the ring.

Teddy Long came out and announced there was going to be a tag team match, Playa!

Unfortunately for me, they didn't announce the names of the competitors so I have no idea how to do a PBP on this one, so I can't and won't!

Zack Sabre Jr. vs Marq Queen

There was a dance party early and everyone was putting on ZSJ's jacket but when the referee put it on, that was too much for Zack.  Zack wanted a fight not a party.  Everyone wanted a party. He was dropkicked off the apron into the arm of everyone who came to party with Queens.  The music played and they danced carrying him to the back.  Queen demanded he be counted out.  Sabre fought them off and got back out to the ringside area and into the ring by the count of eight.

Sabre was sent to the floor and hit with a big flip dive to the floor.  Back in the ring, he began unloading with forearms and uppercuts.  He began working over Queen's arm.  Sabre began tying him up working on his hand, wrist and fingers.  He controlled Queen for some time and scored several two counts.  Queen battled back and they ended up in the corner tangled up.  Sabre elevated Queen, who was able to turn it into a armdrag takedown.  He followed up with a rana off the top,

Queen began working over Sabre Jr. on the mat.  Lots of near falls.   Sabre nailed a Dragon suplex with a double arm hook, bridging over for a two count.   Queen came back with a flip into a DDT for a two count.  Queen is extremely athletic and is having a good showing here.   They went back and forth with some nice strikes and exchanges.  Sabre kicked him in the head and cinched in a triangle choke.

They began firing back and forth with uppercuts, then forearms.   Sabre slapped him HARD.  Queen responded with a leaping kick.   He nailed a standing shooting star press and went to the top for a 450 splash, scoring a CLOSE two count.    They began slapping and punching the hell out of each other.  Sabre grabbed a front choke, drilled him hard across the back and slapped Queen down.    Queen regained control and went to the top.  He went for a shooting star but was caught in a submission and finally tapped.

Your winner, Zack Sabre Jr.!

Very good, physical match where the idea was showing Queen could survive and even thrive against the well skilled European star.

HOG Heavyweight Championship Anthony Gangone vs. Ricochet.

A bit of a feeling out process early.    Ricochet began gaining control so Gangone began trying to stall.  He was able to catch Ricochet unaware and used a headlock. Ricochet broke free and whipped out a ton of cool offense.  He went for a dive but Gangone's second grabbed his leg.  Gangone jumped Ricochet and beat him down.  Gangone did a good job of verbalizing with the crowd to elicit a reaction out of them.  He worked over Ricochet and chopped him down.

Ricochet was sent to the floor, where Gangone's second slammed him against the apron.  He sent Ricochet into the rope and nailed a big lariat for a two count.  Ricochet finally caught Gangone with a dropkick to halt his momentum.   He sent Gangone into thecorner and nailed a 619 variation, then hit a bodypress for a close two count.

Ricochet caught Gangone in mid-air and nailed a big back suplex for a two count.  Ricochet went for a GTS like move but Gangone escaped and swept his legs.   He worked over Ricochet and scored a two count.  Ricochet nailed a running Ace Crusher and hit a shooting star press from a standing position to score another near fall.

They fired back and forth with strikes and kicks.  With big guys down after that sequence, the referee counted them both down.  They fought to their feet and went back and forth with chops and strikes. Ricochet went for a rana but was powerbombed down.  Gangone worked over Ricochet but was caught with a Northern Lights suplex for a two count.  Ricochet nailed a big suplex for another two count.

Ricochet drilled Gangone's second with a kick and hit a dive on him.  The referee checked on him, allowing Gangone to loose one of the corner ropes.  The referee yelled at him and tried to fix is, mising Ricochet nailing a package driver and having the pin.  The second ate a knee to the face and was kicked out of the ring. Gangone nailed Ricochet with the HOG title belt and when Ricochet kicked up, the place went INSANE.  Gangone cheated to win and the place was totally bummed out.

Your winner and still HOG champion, Anthony Gangone!

Good match.

Ricochet took the mic after the bout.  He gave a speech about being the first HOG champion and defended the belt against AJ Styles, Low Ki and others and promised he would return here soon and when he did, he was coming for the belt.

Ricochet's lip was busted open during the match and he's probably going to need stitches.

That's it from HOG!

They return to Jamaica, NY on 12/17 with The Dudley Boyz, The Hardys and more.  For details, visit www.HouseofGloryWrestling.net.
