WWE NXT REPORT: WILLIAM REGAL MAKES A DECISION ABOUT THE NUMBER ONE CONTENDER, ASUKA VERSUS SANTANA, BALOR VERSUS CREWS, AND MORE

Tonight, Apollo Crews faces Finn Balor in order to prove that he deserved to be in the ring with the NXT Champion. Tonight it is a non-title match.

We are in Winter Park, Florida and your announcers are Corey Graves and Tom Phillips.

Match Number One: Aiden English and Simon Gotch versus Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder

English and Rawley start things off. They lock up and Rawley works on the wrist. English with a rake of the face but Rawley with a snap mare into a rollup for a near fall. Rawley with a cross body. English misses a clothesline and Rawley with a front face lock and Ryder tags in and he hits a neck breaker. Ryder sends English face first into the mat and hits a drop kick. Gotch stops Ryder from slamming English and Ryder with a hip toss. English hits Ryder from behind.

English sends Ryder into the corner and English with a back heel kick. English with a running back elbow into the corner for a near fall. Gotch tags in and they connect with punches to the midsection and kicks. Gotch is under the ropes so the referee does not count. Gotch with a forearm across the chest and he gets a near fall.

Gotch with a chin lock into a front face lock. English tags in and he punches Ryder. English chokes Ryder in the ropes. Gotch tags back in and Ryder with a kick to English and then he goes for an enzuigiri on Gotch but he kicks English. Rawley tags in and hits a flying forearm and then he hits a Stinger Splash and he misses a second one and hits the ring post. Ryder tags in and he knocks English off the apron.

Ryder with knees to Gotch followed by a missile drop kick. Ryder misses a Broski boot when English pulls Gotch out of the corner. English tags in and they hit the Whirling Dervish for the three count.

Winners: Aiden English and Simon Gotch

We take a look at what happened to make Carmella the Number One Contender for the NXT Women's Title.

Tom Phillips talked to Carmella earlier today about the title match. Tom congratulates Carmella on winning the battle royal. He asks how it felt to her. She says it felt incredible to win the battle royal. It is a feeling she will never forget. Tom brings up Carmella with Enzo and Cass but he talks about her talent. Carmella says that people would be surprised that she came from wrestling. Her father was in the WWE and he did some submission wrestling.

Tom mentions that next week, she will face Bayley for the title. Tom mentions the friendship between Carmella and Bayley and if it affects their friendship. Carmella says that Bayley was one of her first friends in NXT. They will be able to put their friendship aside for the match, but after the match, they will be friends again.

Tom mentions that Carmella faces Emma tonight and her thoughts on the match. Carmella says that when she beats Emma tonight, she will prove to everyone why she is the number one contender and next NXT champion.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Alex Reyes is with Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder. Alex asks them about their comments about Carmella, Enzo, and Cass.

Dash wonders how should they respond to the challenge by Enzo and Cass. He says they are the same song and dance like Groundhog Day. They demanded a title match and they were given a match in London. They lost, like they always do. They can ask for an opportunity for the tag titles, but they will never win them.

Scott says that they are at the top of the ladder in the tag team division. They are on their way to becoming the best tag team in history. If Enzo and Cass want another chance, but the result will be the same. They will ask Enzo and Cass How You Doin?

Match Number Tow: Carmella versus Emma (with Dana Brooke)

Emma has something to say to Carmella before they finally lock up. Emma backs Carmella into the turnbuckles and gives a clean break, but she tries to punch Carmella and she moves. Carmella with a side head lock. Emma with a reversal into a side head lock of her own. Emma with a shoulder tackle. Carmella trips Emma and hits a running drop kick for a near fall.

Carmella with an Irish whip but Emma with a clothesline out of the corner. Emma punches Carmella. Emma gets a near fall. Emma with a snap mare and knee to the back. Emma stretches Carmella by standing on her hair. Emma with a wrist lock and she rolls through and stretches Carmella with her feet on Carmella's clavicle. Emma gets a near fall.

Emma with a forearm and she chokes Carmella but Carmella with a monkey flip and punches. Carmella sends Emma into the turnbuckles and then Carmella with a head scissors out of the corner. Carmella with a bronco buster. Emma sends Carmella to the mat with some help from the hair. Emma runs Carmella into the corner and connects with shoulders. Emma slaps Carmella. Emma tries for a butterfly suplex but Carmella blocks and gets the three count with a back slide.

Winner: Carmella

We recap what happened at the end of the main event last week with Joe and Zayn forcing Baron Corbin to tap out.

Sami Zayn says at the end of the day it is out of his hands. It is William Regal's decision to make. He hopes that William makes the right decision. Both men can make a claim for winning the match. Sami says he had the Sharpshooter applied longer so that is why he should be declared the winner.

Samoa Joe is asked about the match and he scares the interviewer away.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady come out and they make their way to the ring.

Once in the ring, Enzo says he wants to reiterate something to the audience that he made clear in the UK. If they had a dime for every time they stayed down when knocked down, they would have zero dimes. They are standing on their own two feet with lint in their pockets. One thing remains the same. They are hardbody.

Colin says that anybody who is going to try to take them down, there is ONE WORD to describe them and he is going to spell it out, well maybe start because the crowd finishes the word.

Match Number Three: Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady versus Man in Green and Man in Red

Enzo and start off and Enzo with a side head lock. Enzo with a hammer lock but he is put in a side head lock. Enzo stomps on the foot to reverse the head lock. Enzo with a trip and he walks across his opponent's back. Enzo avoids punches and he connects with a punch. Enzo with a knee lift and he tags in Colin.

Colin sends Enzo into their opponent in the corner. Colin with a forearm to the back. Colin with a boot to the head and Colin runs his partner into the corner and connects with punches. Colin throws the illegal man in the ring over the top rope. Colin with a sit out uranage and then he tags in Enzo for the Rocket Launcher for the three count.

Winners: Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady

Apollo Crews is in the back and he is asked about his match against Finn Balor. Apollo says he had a chance to become the NXT champion but it was interrupted by Baron Corbin. After that, there was a void. He knows deep down that he has what it takes to be champion. He will show it to the fans as well as Finn Balor that he has it in him.

We go to commercial.

We are back and we go to William Regal's office for his official decision. William says that after reviewing the conclusion of last week's main event over and over, he has made a decision. There will be a rematch.

Baron Corbin comes into the office and he says that he better be talking about what happened last week and it better be a rematch.

William tells Baron that there is one thing that is conclusive and that is since you tapped out, you will not be in the match.

William says that the only decision is that there should be a rematch. Samoa Joe will face Sami Zayn with the winner facing Finn Balor.

Match Number Four: Asuka versus Santana

They lock up and go to a stalemate. Santana with forearms but Asuka does not mind. Santana with more forearms and a head butt and Asuka smiles. Santana slaps Asuka. Asuka with a running butt splash against the ropes. Asuka with kicks to Santana but Santana blocks a kick but misses a punch. Asuka with a punch and then she goes for a Shining Wizard but Santana moves and gets a near fall with a rollup.

Santana with a side Russian leg sweep for a near fall. Santana with a wrist lock submission while trapping the other arm. Asuka with a waist lock but Santana with an elbow. Asuka floats over into a cross arm breaker but Santana escapes. Asuka goes for the crossface chicken wing and Asuka locks it in and Santana taps out.

Winner: Asuka

Finn Balor is asked by Alex Reyes about the number one contender match. Finn says that Regal made the right decision to let Sami and Joe settle things in the ring because that is what they do in NXT. Tonight, he faces Apollo Crews. He will not have to wait any longer to see if Apollo can beat him. Apollo is very good, but Finn says he is better.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Five: Finn Balor versus Apollo Crews in a Non Title Match

They shake hands before locking up. Balor with a waist lock and Crews with a standing switch. Balor with an arm bar and arm drag. Crews with a reversal into a wrist lock. Balor with a side head lock and take down. Balor holds on when Crews tries to send Balor off the ropes. Balor with a series of side head lock take downs. Balor with another side head lock take down and he gets a near fall.

Balor continues to hold on to the side head lock despite Crews' attempts to escape. Crews with a rollup for a near fall. Crews backs Balor into the corner and Balor releases the hold. Crews with a side head lock take down but Balor with a head scissors. Crews escapes and Balor takes Crews back to the mat with a side head lock take down.

Crews with a drop kick that sends Balor to the floor.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Crews with a reverse chin lock. Crews goes for a sunset flip but Balor rolls through and hits a drop kick. Balor with a Fujiwara arm bar. Balor with an arm bar. Crews backs Balor into the corner. Balor with a shot to the midsection followed by a kick to the head and Balor gets a near fall. Balor with a chop. Balor with another chop. Balor with an Irish whip and running chop for a near fall. Balor returns to the arm bar.

Crews with an Irish whip but Balor gets his feet up. Crews with clotheslines and a Stinger Splash. Crews with an Irish whip but Balor goes to the apron. Finn misses a chop from the apron but Crews does not miss on a flying clothesline. Crews does a moonsault onto the floor but he lands on his feet when he realizes Balor is not there. Balor with a flip dive and then he goes up top and hits a double stomp to the back of the head but Crews kicks out at two.

Crews with a flatline and he punches Balor. Crews with a Samoan drop for a near fall. Crews is the first to his feet. Crews misses an enzuigiri but Balor does not miss with Slingblade. Balor goes for a running drop kick but Crews with a clothesline. Crews hits the Apollo Combination but Balor kicks out. Balor lands on his feet and Balor with an enzuigiri followed by Slingblade. Balor with a running drop kick to send Crews into the turnbuckles. Balor goes up top for the Coup De Grace and then Balor with Bloody Sunday for the three count.

Winner: Finn Balor

After the match, Balor helps Crews to his feet and he applauds Crews' performance. They shake hands.
