- Andre the Giant (with Ted DiBiase and Virgil) pinned WWF Champion Hulk Hogan to win the title, ending Hogan's four-year long reign atop the WWF mountain. Hogan's shoulder clearly came up before the three-count, but the referee counted it anyway. DiBiase, according to the storyline, had paid for the referee to get cosmetic surgery to make him look like referee Dave Hebner, and paid off the new referee to take Dave's place. This was, of course, the WWF officiating debut of Dave Hebner's twin brother Earl, who previously had been working for the NWA. Andre said that he was surrendering the title to Ted DiBiase, then gave him the belt. Dave Hebner ran to the ring and attacked the imposter referee as DiBiase put the belt on left the ring with Virgil. Hogan then threw Earl over the top rope onto DiBiase and Virgil. DiBiase actually was announced as champion at events on February 6 in Boston and Philadelphia and February 8 in Los Angeles, before an announcement by WWF President Jack Tunney aired on the February 13 edition of WWF Superstars, stating the title was vacant and a tournament would be held at WrestleMania IV to fill the vacancy. This marked the first (official) time that the WWF World Title was vacated in its then 25-year history. The title had actually been vacant on three separate occasions in 1979 and 1982, which WWE doesn't officially recognize.
- WWF Tag Team Champions Strike Force (Rick Martel and Tito Santana) defeated The Hart Foundation to retain the title. Only the beginning of the match was televised due to time constraints.  The finish would never be seen until 2014, when WWE would add the additional footage to the WWE Network version of the special in their Video on Demand section.

2003 - TNA held its 30th weekly pay-per-view event live from the TNA Asylum in Nashville, Tennessee. The show featured the TNA debut of one-legged wrestling sensation Zach "Tenacious Z" Gowen.  Buck Woodward filed the following report:

NWA: Total Nonstop Action for February 5th began with Larry Zbyszko standing in the ring with the NWA World Heavyweight Title belt.  Zbyszko talked about how last week he did something nice for himself by using AJ Styles to get back in the limelight.  He said this week he is going to do something nice for AJ Styles.  Zbyszko put over Styles ability, and demanded that Jeff Jarrett give Styles a title match.  Jarrett came out, obviously bothered that everyone keeps taking the title belt.  Jarrett said Styles could have a title shot if he would be man enough to ask him face to face for one.  Jarrett then demanded his belt back, saying he would take it back if he had to.  Zbyszko said he only does things the hard way, but as Jarrett walked to the ring, AJ Styles attacked him.  Zbyszko tried to get AJ to back off, and this allowed Jarrett the chance to go after Styles.  Zbyszko tried to pull Jarrett off, and Jarrett slugged Zbyszko, laying out both men and grabbing his belt.

A group of men in camouflage and masks came out and attacked Jarrett, then dragged him to the parking lot.  It was obviously Sports Entertainment Xtreme. Mike Tenay and Don West then tried to restore order, while wondering where they were taking Jarrett.

Jorge Estrada defeated Glen Gilbertti (Disco Inferno) in 6:52 with a backslide.  Glen wore a mask and camos to the ring, then took the mask off to wrestle.  He was accompanied by Mike Sanders, also in a mask, which he took off, who joined the announcers for commentary. Glen still did the old Disco Inferno dance and dominated the match, often stopping to dance or talk to Sanders at ringside.  Glen kept setting up for the Chartbuster (stunner), but Estrada kept blocking it, finally reversing an attempt into a backslide for the win.  After the match, Sanders and Glen attacked Estrada, ripping off his Elvis outfit.

Goldylocks interviewed Bob Armstrong about the Jeff Jarrett kidnapping.  Armstrong said he had someone on the case.

A "SEX Sells" graphic was shown.  The lights went out, and a spotlight shown on Disco, back in his mask, then moved to Vince Russo, in fatigues and medals, with "F U" painted on his face.  Russo announced that SEX was declaring war on everyone.  Russo said Jeff Jarrett was in no harm, because he loves Jeff Jarrett. Russo said he was doing all this for Jeff Jarrett. Russo then told Glen that he needs to go "develop the character" of Jeff Jarrett.  Russo said when he comes back, Jarrett should be cursing, caring only about T&A, and flushing tradition down the drain. As Glen walked off, Dusty Rhodes came out and laid him out with a bionic elbow. Dusty Rhodes then got in the ring and got on the mic.

Dusty Rhodes said Bob Armstrong called him in because of the Jarrett abduction.  Rhodes then called Amazing Red, Jerry Lynn, Ron Killings and America's Most Wanted to the ring.  Rhodes gave all of them a pep talk, putting over their talents, and stressing that when Ron Killings won the World Title a "man" won the World Title, not a "black man".  Dusty then said he was going to go find Jeff Jarrett, and that he was leaving the five of them to "kick some ass" tonight.

Sonny Siaki defeated The Amazing Red to retain the X-Division title in 9:45.  Desire accompanied Siaki to the ring. At the end, Desire crotched Red on the top rope while Siaki had the referee distracted.  Red fell to the mat, and Siaki hit the Siakolypse Now (pumphandle into Michinoku Driver) for the win. After the match, Desire shoved Red, and he shoved back.  Siaki and Desire attacked Red, but Kid Kash and Trinity made the save.

They aired a video package on Konnan's recent attacks, then aired a sit down interview with Mike Tenay.  Mike Tenay asked him why he was attacking wrestlers.  Konnan bragged about his Mexican success years ago.  Tenay agreed with Konnan that WCW did not use him to his potential. Konnan talked about Mike Tenay calling the "When Worlds Collide" PPV as being a factor in him getting a job in WCW.  Konnan said that TNA has renamed lucha libre the "X Division" and it was an insult.  He said that wrestling is racist. He said that the top golfer is black and the top rapper is white, but wrestling is still stuck in the past.  Konnan said wrestling was racist against Latinos.  Mike Tenay said the X Division has raised the bar, and that Konnan would have to keep up with them.  Konnan called Tenay a racist, saying everyone is a racist, and that he was there to make sure that "we" (Latinos) never get  "f'd" over again.

Goldylocks interviewed Bob Armstrong, and BG James came over.  The audio on the interview cut out.  James said he was worried about his father.  BG James music hit, and Armstrong said he had a surprise for his son in the ring.  James headed to the ring.

Tenacious Z defeated BG James in 4:02.  Tenacious Z came to the ring, and as he removed his prosthetic leg, Mike Tenay explained that the 19 year old lost his leg when he was eight years old to cancer.  James attacked Z with punches, but Z came back with a dropkick, and holding to the top rope, hit a series of kicks in the corner.  James shoved him down, but Z went for a rollup, before being hit by a clothesline.  Tenay explained that Hulk Hogan visited Z in the hospital when he was a kid, and that was his inspiration to accomplish his goal.  James went for his dancing punches, but Z hit a leg lariat and James fell to the floor.  Z hit an Asai moonsault on James on the floor. Back in the ring, James took back over, but refused to pin Z, instead playfully slapping referee Scott Armstrong, his brother.  James hit a suplex on Z, then refused to pin him again.  Armstrong argued with James, and when James shoved him, Armstrong slapped him.  Z rolled up James from behind for a two count.  James tried to clothesline Armstrong,  Armstrong ducked and kicked James low, and Z grabbed James in a small package for the pin. After the match, Raven hit the ring, and he and James beat down Z until Armstrong pulled him from the ring.

Raven got on the mic as James left the ring.  Raven said Styles had property that belongs to him (the NWA World Title belt).  Raven demanded that the belt be brought to him now.  Raven then cut one of his promos about the road he has traveled.  Styles came out with the belt, and Raven said that unless Styles was a "p****" he would come to the ring.  Raven said Styles hasn't beaten anyone until he faces him.  Styles hit the ring, and Raven attacked.  Styles battled back, hitting a baseball slide and tossing Raven into the guardrail.  They made it back to the ring, and Raven hit a clothesline and a kneelift.  AJ came back with some right hands, a discus lariat and a spinkick.  Raven hit a lowblow, then ripped at Styles fingers, trying to break them.  Raven then grabbed the belt and took off  as Larry Zbyszko hit the ring with a chair.  Styles was helped from the ring, clutching his hand.

Goldylocks went to interview Bob Armstrong, who was talking with Jim Mitchell, Brian Lee and Slash.  America's Most Wanted stormed in, and said they wanted their tag title rematch.  Mitchell said they could have a title match after Lee and Slash win them.   AMW threatened to go through them right now, but Armstrong separated them.

The history leading to the four corners match was shown.

Ron Killings defeated Jerry Lynn, Mike Sanders and David Flair in a four way elimination match in 8:42.  Sanders and Flair agreed to work together, while Lynn and Killings seemed more reluctant to do so.  Sanders and Flair worked as a tag team, keeping Killings from tagging Lynn.  Lynn finally tagged in, with the bout seeming much more like a tag match than an elimination bout.  With Lynn fighting Flair at one point, Jorge Estrada ran down and dropkicked Mike Sanders from the top rope.  Lynn pinned Sanders at 7:06 to eliminate him.  Flair and Lynn went at it, and Flair went for the Figure Four, but Lynn rolled him into a small package for the pin at 8:19.  Killings accidentally hit the referee, and Flair hit Lynn with his burlap bag, and Killings covered Lynn for the pin to win the match.  After the bout, Killings went to pick Lynn up, but Lynn shoved him away, leading to another argument and shoving match between the two.

Goldylocks interviewed Elix Skipper & Low Ki.  Goldy accused them of stealing the tag titles.  Ki and Skipper said they were family, and that they would retain the titles.  Desire and Sonny Siaki entered, and Desire said she should be interviewed, since her match was next.  Desire said that Goldy had a bad boob job.  Goldylocks gave her the finger and called her a "bitch" as she left.

Trinity defeated Desire in 8:23. Sonny Siaki came with Desire to the ring, and Kid Kash accompanied Trinity.  Siaki interfered throughout the match.  At the end, Kash held Trinity so Desire could not monkey flip her out of the corner.  Desire crashed to the mat, and Trinity hit a moonsault for the pin.

Mike Tenay and Don West speculated on where Jeff Jarrett could be.

Low Ki & Elix Skipper vs. Brian Lee & Slash went to a no-contest in 15:35, with the NWA World Tag Team Championship being held up.  Jim Mitchell accompanied Lee & Slash to ringside, and the New Church attacked Ki & Skipper on the floor to start the match. After three minutes of brawling all over the place, the match settled into a traditional tag match in the ring.  After going back and forth, the referee was knocked out when Slash went to powerbomb Low Ki at the fourteen minute mark.  A second referee came in, and we ended up with a double pin, with Ki on Lee and Slash on Skipper (which looked bad, since the one pin was set up before the other, and the referee just waited to count for no reason).  I think Lee and Ki were the legal men, but the referee was counting any pinfall attempts during the final minutes.  Head referee Scott Armstrong came out and said the belts would be held up because of the double pin.  America's Most Wanted ran in to attack Low Ki and Skipper, and two masked men (the Harris Brothers?) hit the ring and attacked Slash and Brian Lee.  This led to a very long brawl, with Russo running out to ringside saying that there was a war tonight.

The brawl went on and on, for over ten minutes, with wrestlers coming to the ring from both locker rooms.  Bob Armstrong ran out and started brawling with one of the masked men, pulling the mask off to reveal it was BG James, and Armstrong continued to pound on his son.  Slowly, the members of SEX beat all the NWA wrestlers into their locker room, then locked the door. We saw that Raven still had the NWA title. Vince Russo then got in the ring with two masked me, presumably Mike Sanders and Disco Inferno.  Russo said he wanted Disco to tell everyone that they did not hurt Jeff Jarrett, they just "tweaked his character" a little.  At that, Disco Inferno, in his underwear, came stumbling down the ramp, and the person Russo thought was Disco unmasked to reveal Jeff Jarrett.  Jarrett slugged Sanders and tackled Russo, starting to hit him as the show ended.

2010 - Scott Steiner and TNA parted ways.

2010 - The title of Chris Jericho's second autobiography is revealed to be "Highlight of the Night."  That title is changed to "Undisputed" prior to its release.

2011 - WLTX TV in South Carolina ran a story on a woman winning $100,000 from the Ric Flair scratch off lottery. It noted her husband was running around the house "Wooing" afterwards.   You can check out the piece by clicking here.

2012 - WWE Raw ran Wichita, Texas.  Frisco Tank sent the following:

Wichita Falls doesn’t typically draw a good crowd, thus we only get house shows, but to me, this one drew better than most. Probably 70% full. The new stage for house shows really does add something to the overall experience, but the sound was TERRIBLE for some reason all show long.

Match 1: Brodus Clay vs. Michael McGillicutty. Definitely longer than what Brodus has been working on TV. McGillicutty got a little offense in, but Brodus dominated the majority. He won with an Ultimate Warrior splash instead of his “What The Funk?” finisher. Crowd seemed to be into Brodus, but could’ve been just the fact he was the opener.

Match 2: Ryback vs. Alex Riley. I remember when Alex Riley was getting pushed. Apparently so did everyone else, because he got quite a nice reaction and crowd was behind him the entire way. I’ve heard Ryback’s character is supposed to be a Terminator like character, but I didn’t see it. All he did was keep slapping his head and acting like Brock Lesnar in his mannerisms. Match was back and forth, but Ryback caught him in what I can best describe as a modified Fisherman’s Buster. Decent move to pick up the victory. Riley gets a nice ovation as he leaves.

Match 3: David Otunga vs. ??? I want to say this guy’s name was Ken Cameron and he was billed from England. He looks like Seth Rollins, but definitely wasn’t, because I would’ve recognized him from ROH obviously. Crowd was DEAD for this match. Otunga is terrible. The kid showed some flashes with a couple nice dropkicks, but Otunga wins with his spinebuster finisher.

Match 4: Kofi Kingston vs. Jack Swagger. This wasn’t announced as a US Title Match. Definitely match of the night. Both guys put in a great effort and had a very entertaining chain of reversals near the end. Kofi was way over with the crowd. Swagger tried to get his feet on the ropes for leverage as he got the 1-2-3, but was a little too far out, so basically was just a normal rollup to win, but that didn’t take away from the effort of the match. Really enjoyable and crowd was fully into it. Post match, Swagger went to shake Kofi’s hand, but then pulled back to mock Kofi. Kofi hits Trouble In Paradise to make up for it though. Intermission Time.

Match 5: Eve vs. Beth Phoenix for the Divas Title with Santino as guest referee. Typical Santino comedy bits. Not used to having a divas match go longer than 45 seconds. Both women got some nice offense in. Beth kissed Santino at one point which, “knocked him out” as Eve then knocked Beth down and hit her moonsault to get the 1-2-3, but Santino obviously couldn’t make the cover. Once he recovered, Beth got the upper hand and hit the Glam Slam for the 1-2-3.

Match 6: The Miz & KANE vs. R-Truth & John Cena. Faces come out first and Wichita Falls was 98% pro-Cena. They erupted when he came out. Miz & Truth were the workhorses for the match, doing the majority of the work. They had a danceoff at the beginning of the match where everyone involved danced, but Kane ended up putting a stop to it. Regular tag match with Cena getting the hot tag and Truth diving to the outside to take out Kane while Cena hit the AA on Miz for the victory.

Main Event: Dolph Ziggler vs. CM Punk for the WWE Title. Very cool moment to start the match. Punk went to throw his shirt to a kid in the front row, but some guy snagged it and took it back to his seat. Punk yelled that he wasn’t gonna give it to the kid, so he decided to make it right. Punk leaves the ring, walks across the arena to the merch stand, grabs a new shirt and personally delivers it to the kid that he intended for in the first place. It’s things like that that make House shows fun. Lots of stalling to begin the match, but once they hooked up, they put on a great effort. The lights went out about halfway through the match and Jericho made his appearance, sitting ringside for the rest of the match. The finish saw Punk get Dolph in the Anaconda Vise, but Jericho was distracting the ref. Punk got rid of him, but then the ref ended up taking a bump which led to Jericho hitting the codebreaker on Punk. Ziggler only manages a 2-count after Jericho gets the ref back in the ring. Jericho tries to attack again, Punk clotheslines him out and hits the GTS on Ziggler for the win and sends everyone home happy.

Overall it was an entertaining show. Zack Ryder had the most merch at the merch booth, but his lack of appearance took away from the show a bit.
