By Mike Johnson on 2023-12-08 08:00:00

December 8th

On this day in history in ....

1959 - Billy Wicks defeats Pancho Villa in a tournament final in Pensacola, Florida to start his fourth reign as NWA Gulf Coast Heavyweight Champion.  The previous champion, Lee Fields, had vacated the title when he decided to purchase the promotion.

1971 - Dominic DeNucci (who went on to train Mick Foley, Shane Douglas, and others) defeats Waldo Von Erich for the National Wrestling Federation World Heavyweight Title in Buffalo, New York.

1971 - The Alaskans (Mike York & Frank Monte) defeated The Australians (Larry O'Day & Ron Miller) in Miami, Florida for the NWA Florida Tag Team Title, ending The Australians' second reign as champions.

1990 - Tony Anthony & Doug Gilbert defeat Jeff Jarrett & Cody Michaels in Memphis, Tennessee to win the USWA World Tag Team Title for the second time.

1994 - Harlem Heat, Booker T & Stevie Ray, defeat Stars & Stripes (The Patriot & Marcus Bagwell) to win the WCW World Tag Team Title in Atlanta, Georgia, ending the second reign of Bagwell & Patriot. This was the first of an eventual ten WCW World Tag Team Title reigns for Harlem Heat.

2001 - Psicosis defeats Juventud Guerrera to win the World Wrestling All-Stars International Cruiserweight Title in Glasgow, Scotland.

2005 - It is announced that WWE Diva Stacy Keibler would be a contestant on the second season of ABC's "Dancing With The Stars".  After appearing on the show and making it to the final episode, Keibler would never appear in WWE again.

2006 - Kurt Angle appeared on the Bubba The Love Sponge radio show, and claimed he would be having a Mixed Martial Arts fight. Angle stated his first "shoot" fight would take place in May or June on a "TNA broadcast." Angle commented that the fight wouldn't be in association with PRIDE or UFC, then dropped Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture (all of whom were associated with UFC at the time) and Daniel Puder as his potential opponents before saying that he couldn't confirm who it would be. Angle commented he has 3 or 4 fights in him and that he was making the rules for his fight, which would see headbutts legal. He stated the "shoot fight" (his terminology) would ignite a new "wrestling war" and commented that if he lost, it would "kill his career". He said that the chances were worth taking the fight because it would do "a million PPV buys."  The fight would never happen.

2008 - WWE presented the Slammy Awards as part of their Raw broadcast.  Richard Trionfo filed the following TV report:

We are less than a week away from Armageddon, but forget that, tonight is the Slammys on this special three hour edition of Raw. The six nominees for Superstar of the Year are going to be in action during tonight’s show as well as the two semifinal matches in the number one contender tournament to see who will face William Regal. On this three hour Raw, we will see wrestlers from all three brands and we can only hope that we will see some classic (dare we say 24/7 Classic) moments from Slammys past. Which version of Charlie Haas will win tonight? Will the Miz and John Morrison continue their streak of wrestling on every WWE television show since Wrestlemania? Will any new matches be announced for the pay per view? Will we see anything further between Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon as they battle for control of the Raw brand? Will Mike Knox torment smaller wrestlers tonight? Will Shawn Michaels start to work for Bradshaw tonight? What fun Christmas video package will we see from DX tonight?

In the Slammys ‘Technical and Scientific Awards Ceremony’ before the broadcast, the following winners were announced: Vladimir Kozlov was announced as the winner for “Breakout Star of 2008”; R-Truth was the announced winner of "Best Musical Performance"; John Morrison & The Miz's Dirt Sheet was named the “Best WWE.com Original show”; ECW announcing team Matt Striker and Todd Grisham were named the “Best Announcing Team”; and Charlie Haas won for “Best Impersonation for 2008” for his impersonation of Beth Phoenix.

We begin tonight’s show with a video package highlighting the Slammys that are up tonight.

We are live from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and your announcers are Michael ‘Happy Birthday Dave Scherer’ Cole and Jerry ‘Stand Back’ Lawler from Raw; and Jim ‘BCS’ Ross and Tazz from Smackdown.

The nominees are: Carlito and Primo; Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes; The Miz and John Morrison; and Cryme Tyme. The winners are The Miz and John Morrison. They celebrate as if they won the World Series. They fight over the Slammy for a second. Miz wants Maria or Festus to kiss his hand. Miz messes with Festus since he is in his catatonic state. Miz slaps Festus and tells him to leave. Morrison thanks the Academy and Admiral Ackbar. Then they channel the spirit of the President-Elect with their comments. Miz says that not only are they the best tag team of 2008, they are the greatest tag team of the 21st century. While Miz celebrates in the background, Morrison makes his way to the ring for his match.

We see William Regal and Layla watching from the back.

Hunter was the star, Flair was the legend, and Batista was the muscle. Orton was the crown jewel, but the group imploded. Orton points out that he was the youngest champion and he was attacked. Orton suggests that him, Cody Rhodes, and Manu are challenging Hunter and Batista to a handicap match instead of the one-on-one match between Hunter and Batista. Tonight, The Legacy is born.

2010 - PWInsider.com broke word that The Fight Network's parent company, 619661 Canada Inc filed for bankruptcy.  According to bankruptcy documents, the network owed creditors $13,748,318.06.

The network remained still operating per usual and according to sources as the network, there are no plans for that to change in the foreseeable future. The bankruptcy filing appeared to be a way for the network to jettison older debt while building for the future. I know there had been several changes in the corporate ranks in recent weeks prior to the filing.

Launched in 2004 as a niche cable network that would focus on MMA, boxing, pro wrestling and other combat sports, The Fight Network carried a number of different entities as part of their television programming and maintained a regular radio series after purchasing longtime Canadian wrestling radio show "Live Audio Wrestling", which was eventually moved to satellite radio.

On the wrestling side of their broadcasting, The Fight Network carried programming from TNA, Ring of Honor, Dragon Gate USA, CMLL in Mexico, FMW and Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan as well as several Canadian independent groups. The network also licensed tape libraries from Stone Cutter Media, The Savoldis, and Larry Matysik, among others to air classic footage from Texas, St. Louis and Memphis, as well as other territories.

A number of the aforementioned entities are among those listed as creditors in the filing.

The network also dove into producing its own original fare, including the highly touted and well received "Bret Hart: Survival of the Hitman" documentary, produced by John Pollock, tracing Hart's career and return to WWE as he prepared to face Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania 26. Hart is not listed as a creditor, although MMA star Randy Couture, another documentary subject, is.

At one point, the Network had looked into expansions in both Latin America and the United States, but those did not come to pass. They purchased a similar network in Great Britain, The Wrestling Channel before shutting it down in 2008.

The Network remains in operation today and is now available via online means in the United States.

2011 - TNA broadcast Impact.  Stu Carapola filed the following TV report:

Welcome to the Impact Wrestling Report here on PWInsider.com!

We start off tonight's episode with a video package looking back at last week as Sting laid down the law on Bobby Roode, as well as a video package hyping tonight's confrontation between Kurt Angle and James Storm. We then go to the arena where Sting and his gloves kick off the show by coming out to the ring and demanding that Bobby Roode come out and talk to him. The World Champion comes on out and Sting says they still have consequences to deal with, and he now calls Dixie Carter out to the ring as we're reminded to follow Dixie on Twitter. Sting says not to worry about Bobby Roode, but Roode put his hands on Dixie Carter, which is the same as putting his hands on Sting, and he needs to apologize to Dixie. Roode says he apologizes, then asks Sting for space so he can apologize to Dixie right. The crowd chants "on your knees" as Roode says he sincerely is sorry for not being completely honest with her, but as she can plainly see, things are a little different now and he's not scared to say anything because he's the champ and she needs him. Business is better than ever since he beat James Storm for the title, and everyone wants to jump on the Bobby Roode Express, including her, but he wouldn't sell her a ticket because she couldn't handle the ride. She's a rich girl who had everything handed to her on a silver platter and she couldn't run a lemonade stand. Roode asks who she thinks she is, and he says he's Bobby Roode and he's the World Heavyweight Champion, the It Factor of professional wrestling and the leader of the Me Generation, as well as the face of this wrestling company. He's just spit in the face of authority, and then he spits right in Dixie's face before heading for the hills as Sting chases him up the ramp.

We're back, and Mike Tenay is sickened that we have to show what we just saw with Bobby Roode spitting in Dixie Carter's face...then we show it again. We go backstage where AJ grabs Roode and says Roode doesn't know who he is because Dixie gave him everything and hewants to take Roode apart right now, but tonight, he's going to leave him just a little so he can take him apart at Final Resolution. Sting comes roaring into the back to kick Roode's ass, but AJ and Jeff Hardy hold him back because they're going to take care of Roode.

Let's head to the ring for our opening match...

Samoa Joe vs Abyss

Joe fires off some shots, but Abyss floors him with a shoulderblock. Joe dodges a chargeand hits a leaping enziguiri and then Abyss boots him in the face as we go to commercial.

We're back, and Joe is gouging the eyes of Abyss before delivering an inverted atomic drop, running boot, and running senton drop for 2. Joe with more right hands and headbutts and then he goes to the second rope and comes off right into a goozle. Joe elbows his way out but runs into a series of clotheslines and another goozle, but Joe breaks out and hits a leaping enziguiri and a running high knee into the corner. Joe puts Abyss up top to go for the Muscle Buster, but Scott Steiner comes out to distract the referee while Bully Ray comes out of nowhere and knocks Joe silly with a chain so Abyss can hit a chokeslam for the win.

Winner: Abyss

Bubba and Steiner come into the ring to give Abyss a pat on the back for his win and raise his arms in victory, but Abyss gives Steiner a Black Hole Slam and then stares down Bubba until he bails out of the ring to fight another day.

Karen Jarrett is backstage telling Madison Rayne and Gail Kim that ODB screwed up last week and that Madison needs to get into the ring with Mickie James and tear her apart so she won't show up to Final Resolution to face Gail. In the meantime, she told Gail she had the night off, but she's putting her in the ring with Traci Brooks. Gail is livid because Traci's going to take all her anger out on her, but Karen has a plan...and she closes the door on the Mystery Cameraman before she explains it.

Sting is backstage telling Gunner it's over with, and Gunner says it's over when he says it's over. Sting goes to walk away, but Gunner grabs him and says Garett has asked for a match with him twice and Sting has granted it. All Gunner wants is a rematch, one on one, with no Bischoff and no Flair, and that's all. Gunner extends his hand and Sting shakes it, then shoves Gunner and reiterates that there willbe no Flair and no Bischoff, and Gunner says he has his word.

Time for our next match, but firsty, Devon and the Pope call Crimson and Matt Morgan out to the ring and Devon says they were beating the hell out of each other, but put that aside to become the team they should have been. They took the title from Mexican America and Devon thanks them very much for that, but since he was half of one of the greatest teams of all time, and he's won 23 titles with his brother and faced some of the greatest teams of all time, he knows Morgan and Crimson have what it takes to be the best team in the world and stay there for a long time, but the thing they have to understand is that Devon and Pope are now a tag team who will be facing them at Final Resolution. He's expecting their best and their A-game, and he doesn't want any excuses at the end of the night because when all is said and done, Christy Hemme will be announcing new champions. Devon tells everyone to testify and says may the best team win.

Crimson and Morgan shake hands with their challengers and the music starts, but then Pope says to cut toe music and says that he doesn't agree with everything Devon says, they do agree that Morgan and Crimson are two ofthe dumbest honkies they've seen in a long time (his words) and 23 titles don't matter as much as the almighty dollar, and with the gold on their shoulders comes the money. As long as they have it, Pope is gunning for it and he doesn't care how low he has to go, he's going to take those titles away from them and testify to that because Pope has spoken.

Morgan lays Pope out nad starts pounding on him to start a big brawl between the two teams and Crimson and Devon brawl up the ramp as Pope uppercuts Morgan in the Blueprint. Suddenly, Devon's kids Terrence and Terrell jump the guardrailand help Pope beat Morgan down, but Morgan pops up and Pope and the Devon Family head for the hills.

Karen Jarrett, Gail Kim, and Madison Rayne are backstage, and they're...WALKING! And so is Mickie James!!

James Storm arrives at the building, and then we go to the ring for some HARDCORE COUNTRY!

Mickie James vs Madison Rayne

Madison backjumps Mickie and chokes her out in the corner with her boot, then rams her hard from corner to corner. Mickie with the Jannetty Bulldog for 2 and then rams Mickie's face into the mat before gouging at her face. Madison goes to a rear chinlock and Mickie fights her way clear, but Madison hits a messy bulldog thing for 2 and then chokes Mickie on the ropes. Madison with a vertical suplex and rolls through into a rolling neckbreaker for 2. Madison goes for her neckbreaker on the knee but Mickie reverses to the jumping DDT for the win.

Winner: Mickie James

Gail Kim comes out to the top of the ramp to stare down Mickie, who looks determined.

Garett Bischoff is backstage, and he's...WALKING!

Bully Ray and Scott Steiner are backstage saying that they got Abyss girls, they helped him win, and hestill isn't coming back to Immortal. Bully Ray says he's already talked to Bischoff, so now Steiner needs to go talk to him. Steiner says he's going to walk off, then he...walks off while telling Bubba he's going to go talk to Bischoff. And Bubba says go talk to Bischoff. It was much funnier than it sounded.

We go to a video package detailing the history between Eric and Garett Bischoff, then we're off to the ring...

Gunner vs Garett Bischoff

Gunner sends Eric Bischoff and Ric Flair to the back, then begins unloading on Garett in the corner and rams him to the corner for repeated shoulderblocks and forearms. Garett gets a pair of bulldogs and a flying clothesline but Gunner no-sells and catches Garett with a back elbow and boots him out to the floor. Gunner goes out after Garett and slaps him around at ringside before ramming him into the ringpost. They head back to the inside where Gunner continues the assault, ramming Garett into the corner and yelling in his face until Garett gets a fluke rollup out of nowhere and pins Gunnera third time.

Winner: Garett Bischoff

Gunner is really pissed off now and dumps Garett to the floor andrams him into the stairs while the crowd informs Gunner that he sucks. Gunner goes to piledrive Garett on the floor until Eric comes to ringside and tells Gunner to stop. Eric then pulls back the mats at ringside and tells Gunner to go ahead, and Gunner obliges, piledriving Garett on the concrete floor. What a couple of heels!

Eric Bischoff and Ric Flair applaud Garett as he's being wheeled out to an ambulance on a stretcher and Eric says he'll go home to tell Garett's mother that he's doing just fine.

Mike Tenay and Taz debate Eric Bischoff's coldhearted nature, and then we head back to the ring for a big face to face confrontation we've waited weeks for. James Storm comes out and says that Angle called him out so, since he's never backed down from a challenge, he's here and tells Angle that if he's got something to say to him, to say it to his face. Angle comes out and says Storm's either stupid, or one of the bravest men he's ever met. He hit Storm from behind so hard he almost gave himself a concussion, but at Final Resolution, he's not going to screw up again because when he gets in the ring with Kurt Angle, he's in his world and it's not going to happen again like when Sting forced him to defend the title against Storm. He's thought about Storm day and night, but Storm said it creeps him out to know Angle thinks about him when he goes to bed. Storm says Angle wins most matches before they start because everyone's worried about what happens when they get in the ring with an Olympic gold medalist and a 13 time World Champion. Storm rattles offa bunch of family members who died under tragic circumstances, and he's stared death in the face and there's nothing on this earth that scares him. Angle can say what he's going to do all he wants, but the last time they were in the ring, Storm knocked him out and won the World Title. The next time, Storm's going to crush Angle's head with his boot like a beer can and, to show how intimidated he is of Angle, he's going to turn around and if Angle feels froggy, he can go ahead and jump. Storm does indeed turn around, and Angle does nothing. Storm says that's what he thought, and he'll see him this Sunday. Oh, and it's real...it's damn real.

Karen Jarrett is backstage explaining tonight's Gail-Traci match by saying she's a fair person, so Gail has to wrestle Traci because she's not fair. Karen tells Traci to lay down, which she knows Traci has no problem doing, and if there's any funny business, she'll have to face the wrath of Karen Jarrett.

Devon is backstage shoving his kids around and threating to knock them out. He says he's the one who calls the shots and tells them never to get in the ring again. Pope comes in and Devon LAUNCHES Pope into the wall and says he blames him. One of the kids grabs Devon's arm and tells him not to do it, and Devon asks if he's out of his mind and says he's going to leave before he does something he regrets. Pope comes in and asks the kids if they're okay and says not to worry about the kids because he'll be okay, and that they just need to stick with Pope and they'll be in the main event before they know it.

Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles are backstage and they're positive about whatever it is they're doing tonight, which hasn't been announced yet so I have no idea what they're talking about.

Traci Brooks vs Gail Kim

It's the Battle of the Canadian Knockouts! Traci lays down and Gail makes a cover, but Traci kicks out at 2, then shoots a double leg and runs Gail over with elbowsmashes and a runningshoulder in the corner. Traci with repeated shoulderblocks to the ribs and another back elbow and covers for 2. Traci slams Gail's face into the mat and kicks her in the face, then runs her over with a clothesline. Traci with a spear and Karen comes trotting down to ringside to yell at Traci. Traci grabs Karen, but Madison Rayne comes in from the crowd and nails Traci with her tag title belt behind the referee's back and Gail rolls Traci up for 3.

Winner: Gail Kim

Karen gives Traci a little kick in the ribs before leaving with her crew. Speaking of Jarretts, Jeff is backstage saying he's going to take Jeff Hardy out tonight before he ever gets to Final Resolution, and Roode says if you think the odds are against him with AJ Styles, think again. Okay, I guess they're facing AJ and Hardy in the main event. That makes sense.

Christopher Daniels is backstage saying he's beaten Bob Van Dam enough times, and at Final Resolution, they can settle things by wrestling like they were trained to do. We then go to Mike Tenay and Taz as they run down the card for this weekend's Final Resolution PPV, and then it's main event time!

Jeff Hardy & AJ Styles vs Jeff Jarrett & Bobby Roode

They start brawling during introductions and the fight spills out to the floor where Hardy pairs off with Jarrett and AJ with Roode. Jarrett sends Hardy into the ringpost and then goes after AJ and we finally head into the ring. AJ with a big dropkick to Jarrett and then goes out to the apron and springboards into the ring and hurts his knee. Jarrett goes to pounce but AJ tags out to Hardy and Jarrett zooms over to his corner and tags out to Roode as we go to commercial.

We're back, and Hardy headscissors Roode before hitting a double legdrop to the crotch and covers for 2. AJ tags in and goes after Roode with right hands and chops, but Roode kicks him in the bad leg and AJ goes down in a heap. Jarrett tags in and gets hiptossed by the hobbled AJ, who then clotheslines Roode off the apron but gets dragged down to the apron by the champion, who slams AJ's leg on the ring apron. Jarrett puts the boots to AJ's bad leg and tags out to Roode, who rakes AJ's back and stomps the knee. Jarrett tags in and cheap shots Hardy off the apron, but AJ rolls Jarrett up for 2. Roode tags in now and stomps on AJ's groin behind the referee's back, but he picks AJ up and Styles hits a Pelle kick and tries to make the hot tag to Hardy, but Jarrett knocks Hardy off the apron and Hardy goes after Jarrett, leading to a brawl all around ringsode and to the back. Karen rakes Hardy's back, but Hardy keeps going after Jeff into the catacombs under the bleachers. Meanwhile back in the ring, Roode gets AJ in a half crab but AJ makes the ropes. Roode argues with the referee and then eats boot on a charge into the corner. AJ with a series of clotheslines and a labored backdrop. AJ goes for a fireman's carry but his knee buckles, so Roode hits a spinebuster and goes for the Perfectplex and AJ small packages him for the win.

Winners: AJ Styles & Jeff Hardy

Roode goes after AJ again after the match but AJ knocks him silly with a flying forearm and drives Roode out to the floor. AJ slingshots himself over the top rope onto Roode and Roode heads for the hills while AJ hobbles after him. AJ thinks he's safe and his music hits while he plays to the crowd, but Roode comes back out and clips AJ's knee from behind and rams his leg repeatedly into the scaffold on the side of the stage, then crouches over AJ and says he'll never be the champion because he can't beat Roode.

2012 - CZW held their Cage of Death event in Voorhees, NJ.  Mike Johnson filed the following live report:

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing coverage of CZW Cage of Death 14 from the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ! The Cage of Death iPPV can be ordered by clicking the graphic below:

WWNLive.com iPPV

There were a lot of chants for former CZW stars before the show, including Wifebeater, Zandig and Nick Gage.  There was then a sizeable "Free Nick Gage" chant.

Ring announcer Larry Legend was introduced and came out to the the theme to the Price is Right, since he won big on the game show.  He got a massive "Larry" chant and a standing ovation.

Ultraviolent Aerial Assault: 4-Loco vs. the Nation of Intoxication

The only way to win is to get the CZW Tag Team belts hanging above the ring.  Everyone just brawled out of the locker room and its immediate total chaos.  Azrieal hit a big tope con hilo to the floor.  Crissy Rivera swung off the top rope using a rope like Tarzan into a rana.

Alex Colon drilled Danny Havoc with a ladder and attempted to whip him into it.  Havoc nailed him and used it like an airplane spin weapon but was lowblowed by Rivera.  Colon used a back suplex while the ladder was around his neck.  Holy hell, that was nuts.

Alex Colon and Bandido worked over Devon Moore, beating him with a ladder.  They brought a table into the ring.   Bandido sent Moore into a ladder in the corner with a suplex.  Nuts.  The table was placed in a corner.  As all this madness was going on, everyone else was brawling outside the ring.

4 Loco worked over Moore, who held onto the ropes when they whipped him across the ring.  He backdropped Colon and Bandido to the floor.  Everyone battled to the floor as Havoc stood atop the box the belts were in and hit a moonsault to the floor on everyone.

The crowd began applauding in unison.

Thurnteen and Colon battled back and forth in the ring.  Thurnteen used the rope hanging from the ceiling to pull himself to the top and came off with a big swinging DDT.  He then went to the top of a scaffold and was going to leap off, but Colon charged up a table that was leaning against the ropes.  Colon was kicked off and bumped into the ring.  Thurnteen then hit an insane 450 splash off the top of the scaffold to a table Bandido was on below.  The place went nuts.

Devon Moore went to the top of the scaffold.  Rivera followed him and nailed him with a low blow but he no sold it and pulled out a protective cup.  He grabbed her and nailed a Michinoku Driver off the top of the scaffold through a table.  Holy hell, that was insane.  The place erupted.

Someone nailed a cutter off the apron through another table but I missed who.  Azrieal came off the top of the box with a senton.  Havoc was bleeding from the back of the head at this point.   The finish was Havoc pulling someone from the top of a huge ladder and nailing a DVDR through a table that was leaning against the ropes.

Lucky Thurnteen then pulled the belts down.

The winners and new CZW Tag Team champions, The Nation of Intoxication.

Absolutely one of the most insane matches I've seen this year with a dozen insane bumps that would make the highlight reel.   Great, chaotic brawl that the crowd loved.  And that was JUST the opener!

As they cleaned the ring, Pepper Parks and Cherry Bomb walked around ringside cutting a promo.  He put her over as his new fiancé and the fans called her a "crack whore."  Bomb said that they feel they may have gotten off on the wrong foot with the fans because they understand how confused the fans are.  They said they are here because they care about them.  They began pointing out fans and telling them how they could better themselves.  It was great.  One woman actually threw something at Cherry.  They found a planted heavyset fan that they had take off his shirt so they could "see how they can best help him."  Parks then told the fans to take his advice, which is that the body is a temple and if you work hard to get a body like his, one day you can treat someone else's like a playground.  It was a hell of a promo.

Shane Strickland vs. Rich Swann

They began brawling back and forth on the floor immediately.   They fought into the ring, where they went back and forth with some crazy reversals.  Swann was cut off with a big clothesline.  Strickland leapfrogged him and avoided a tackle but was caught with a big dropkick.  Strickland came back with a dropsault, sending Swann into the corner.

Strickland and Swann battled back and forth until Swann dropkicked him out of the ring.  Swann hit a running flip dive to the floor.   Strickland tried to nail a sliding kick through the ropes but was pulled through and brought down hard on the floor.

Swann chopped him hard on the floor.   They fought back into the ring where Swann charged Strickland but was kicked down for a two count.  Strickland began nailing a series of kicks to Swann.  He went for a tombstone piledriver and they went over and over with reversals until Swann dropped him down on the back of his head in a nasty looking attempt.

Swann chopped Strickland back down as he recovered and locked in a rear chinlock, but not before spitting down at him.  Strickland fought to his feet but was dropped back down with a back suplex for a two count.  Swann argued over the count.

Swann came off the top with a big measured elbow for a two count.  Swann chopped him in the corner and monkey flipped him out of it onto a chair in the middle of the ring.  That garnered Swann another two count.  Swann beared down on Strickland with an armbar.

They battled back and forth until Strickland elevated Swann into the air and brought him down on his knees.  He charged Swann but was backdropped to the floor.  Swann went for a sliding kick but it was avoided.  Strickland nailed him with a DDT on the floor, with Swann's body making a sickening thud.

Strickland nailed a springboard moonsault to the floor on Swann.  They fought back and forth with Swann being hit with an Electric Chair into a bridge for a pin.   Strickland was hit with a Van Daminator and then a reverse rana for a two count.  Strickland missed a rana off the top and was hit with a double stomp from the top by Swann, then a standing 450 splash for another two count.

The fans began dueling chants.  Strickland sets up a chair and tries for a powerbomb but it was blocked.  Strickland nails him hard in the face and goes for another.  Swann slipped out and nailed a sitdown bomb, dropping Strickland across the edge of the chair.  He then hit a standing 450 splash and scored the pin.

Your winner, Rich Swann!

Someone is going to watch this and say they did way too much and the psychology didn't make sense, but for this audience, it was exactly what they wanted to see - two guy beating themselves and the other guy half to death with insane moves and hard hitting shots in order to win.  My hat is off to them for an insanely great effort.  Swann blows me away every time.

Greg Excellent & Mother Excellent vs. Drew Gulak & Kimber Lee

Gulak is the top heel personality here, doing an anti-everything deal leading a movement for a better CZW.  He's a hell of a heel and shows a ton of poise and charisma in the role.  Excellent is sort of the macot and comedy guy around here and is loved for it.  He's had a long going off and on storyline with his legitimate mother who shows up from time to time and this time, she's here to team with him against Gulak and Lee.

Lee and Mom started out.  There was a huge "Let's go Mom" chant.   Lee began browbeating her and insulting her in the ring, then offered her hand in apology.  Mom took it and slapped her.    Gulak tagged in, so Excellent wanted in but his mom told him no.  She ducked several shots and grabbed a side headlock, bringing Gulak over to her corner.

Excellent tagged in and worked over Gulak in the corner.  Lee tried to interfere so Mom grabbed her and began chopping her in the corner.  They had them in opposite corners.  They then stuck their hands down their pants, then wiped their hands across their opponents faces.  They then licked each  other's hands.  The crowd chanted "You sick f***s."  Mental note: don't ever visit the Excellents on holidays.

Mama teased a dive but stopped.  Excellent then hit a tope, taking out several of Gulak's henchmen.    Gulak attacked Mom and put her in a Dragon Sleeper.  Excellent saved her but not before she was choked out.  Excellent checked on his mom but was jumped by Gulak.  They exchanged punches and Gulak got the better of it.

Lee tagged in and began working over Excellent.  Mama recovered on the outside and returned to her corner.  Lee dropped an elbow on Excellent.  Gulak came off with a big double axehandle off the top.   He drilled Excellent into the mat and began smothering him with his boot in the corner.

Kimber Lee tagged back in and locked in a cross armbreaker.  Excellent make a comeback and put Lee on the top for a move.  Gulak tried to interfere and was grabbed by the nuts.  Lee jumped off the top but was grabbed in the nether-regions as well.  Gulak was beaten off and Lee was powerbombed in the corner.

Excellent went to hit a cannonball in the corner but his Mother wanted to do it instead.  It didn't look good and she may have hurt her neck.   Gulak worked over Excellent and went to send him into a crutch being wielded by one of his lackeys but the whip was reversed and Gulak was hit.  Lee was locked in a Dragon sleeper as mom worked over the hurt Gulak.  Lee finally tapped.

Your winners, The Excellents!

This was total sideshow comedy mixed with some brawling.  For what it needed to be, it was perfect.  You have to give it to Mother Excellent for doing as much as she did.

As the Excellents celebrated, Colt Caban came out to his music.   He said, "We got a real comedian here, don't we?"  He asked if they thought they were funny people and the funniest one in the building.  They thought they could get a few laughs and steal the show.  He said he would get in the ring and fight him but he had a finger-blasting accident.  He began challenging Excellent to Wrestlecon, but then turned and showed everyone he was challenging Mom.  He told her she had too choices, "fight of f*** and either way, you are going to be bleeding."

Greg Excellent then stepped in and said if they could substitute one set of boobs for another, he would be happy to bring his double Es to Secaucus and they set up a match for CZW that weekend.  Colt then tried to pick up Mom and Excellent said, "You are not going to f*** my mom!" Mom, however, appeared to suddenly have Hanukah plans.

Nice angle to set up what's going to be a big weekend.

No Holds Barred, Falls Count Anywhere: Sami Callihan vs. Adam Cole

They brawled out of the back and around ringside and immediately began tossing weapons into the ring.   They battled all over the ringside area.  Cole began choking out Sami on the floor.

Sami made a comeback and went for a running boot on the floor but ate a superkick.   Callihan  avoided a charge in the corner and Cole ate the buckles.  Callihan nailed a facewash in the corner, then another.  He grabbed a trash can and placed it on Cole's face.  He rebounded off the ropes but was nailed with the trash can.

Cole picked up Callihan and brought him down over his knee.  He teased doing a big move, then sat in a chair while applying a chinlock.  That was funny.  Callihan broke it with a sitdown jawbreaker and Cole took a backwards tumble with the chair,

Callihan set up a chair in the corner but Cole sent him into it.   Cole put a trash can in the middle of the ring and they battled over it until Callihan hit a huge back suplex onto it.   Callihan began beating Cole over the head with hard shots from the can.  Cole responded by spitting in his face.  Callihan grabbed Cole and hit a running powerbomb on a ladder that was leaning in the corner.  This is awesome.

Callihan placed Cole's leg in a chair and began beating it with another.  He then sey up a number of chairs to face each other in another part of the ring.  Callihan went under the ring and tossed a ton more chairs inside as Cole tried to recover.

He set up this insane assembly of chairs, which partially fell apart before they could really be used.   Cole nailed him and suplexed him into another ladder, then properly set up a pyramid of chairs.   Cole tried to pull him up for a move but Callihan nailed him, then hit a superplex off the top through the construction.  Callihan covered Cole, who kicked up, barely, at the last second.

Callihan went to the outside and retrieved a bag...of well, sh**.  He tried to powerbomb Cole into it but Cole fought off.  Callihan began nailing a series of kicks and Cole fell dangerously close to nailing it.  Callihan then powerbombed him into the poo.

Cole was shocked.  Callihgan grabbed him but Cole used a small package and scored the pin.

Your winner, Adam Cole!

Absolutely sick, disgusting and brutal.  Nuts in so many ways.  This is a hell of a great show.

As they started to clean the garbage out of the ring, out came New Jack came out, flanked by Thomas Rodman of BWO fame.   Jack cut a promo and said that he's watching the new generation and he appreciates it.  He said that people tell him ECW died a few years ago and it did, but it was reincarnated as CZW.  He said that he never thought in his life and actually sit at a show and leave him, of all people, sitting there in awe.  He said he has leapt from the highest of the high, but what he saw tonight was a bunch of motherf***ers who don't hold back sh** and everyone showed their a**es.

He said that he has a little problem and he's putting it on record.  CZW is the hardest working locker room that he has seen since ECW died years ago.   He said that this can't be duplicated.   He said he has a problem - Jeez and Ruckus, who are pimples on his ass.  He said he keeps scratching but it won't go away.  He said in a few weeks, they have to come to face him (at Extreme Rising).  He said that they are in an elite group and have surpassed the average indies.  He said they are running with the Pitbulls, The Eliminators, the Public Enemy and the Dudleys, but most of them are dead and they need to prepare for the worst.

Jack said he's at the point in life where he doesn't care if people live or die.   He said they will be there for one reason, to kill them.  He said that they can bring CZW to Philly on 12/29 and they will die...so "Merry f***ing Christmas."  As you can imagine, I cleaned up the language, but the promo was awesome.

BLK OUT - Jeez and Ruckus vs. Dave and Jake Crist

They all nearly got into it with some fans at ringside.  They battled with a series of nice dives early, followed by a brawl in the aisle  It turned into a deal where Jeez and one of the Crists were really going at it and everyone else started holding them back.    This led to a chaotic, long played out scene before everyone was forced to go to the back.  There were some fans throwing things and there was a near-riot feel to the whole thing.

CZW promoter Maven Bentley came out and apologized and said any fans who were involved could meet him at the ticket booth and the company would make it up to them.

CZW Wired TV champion AR Fox vs. mystery opponent

Fox had issued an open challenge to anyone to come and face him.  Out came Robert Anthony, who's been here before and is the current Resistance Pro champion.

Anthony took the mic and said several months ago, DJ Hyde called him to come here and he told Hyde to suck his d***.  He said he didn't want to come back in front of all these loser fans, but then he saw footage of Fox and realized, he's the man in CZW now.  So, he wanted to come back to expose him as the one dimensional spot monkey that he is.  Anthony promised to take the belt and never come back, then warned Fox to prepare to be embarrassed. It was a good promo.

So, the story is Anthony believes he is the superior wrestler and wants to outclass Fox.

They locked up and Anthony grabbed an armbar and said,"This is wrestling, baby."   Fox reversed but Anthony was easily able to escape and preened to the crowd and stalled.

Anthony grabbed a side headlock and controlled Fox on the mat.  Fox reversed it but Anthony slipped out and grabbed another side headlock.   Fox broke free and went for a move but it was reversed into a rollup.  They went into a series of reversals on the mat and near falls.  Anthony bridged out of one into a backslide for a two count and they faced off.

Anthony measured and drilled Fox into the corner, then whipped him across the ring hard.   He charged but Fox kicked him off.  Fox leapt off the top and used his speed to evade Anthony, then nailed a big missile dropkick.  That sent Anthony to the floor, where Fox hit an insane leaping dive over the top to the floor.

As they returned to the ring, Anthony cut him off with some forearms.  They battled to the floor again, where Fox nailed a leaping kick off the apron.   Fox set up Anthony on the apron and came off the top with leaping guillotine legdrop.  That move is going to kill someone, likely Fox, one day.

Fox then returned to the ring and hit a running dive across the ring, over the ring post and wiped out Anthony on the floor.  That was one of the most impressive things I've ever seen in my entire life.

Fox brought Anthony into the ring and nailed a slingshot elbow in for a two count.   Fox nailed a series of palm strikes and went for a multijump springboard move but Anthony caught him and hit a wheelbarrow suplex into the buckles.  He nailed a suplex in the middle for another two count on Fox.

Anthony backdropped Fox over the top to the apron.  Fox rebounded with a back elbow but was caught with a back-cracker in mid-air for a two count.  Anthony began focusing his attack on Fox's back, working him over.  He picked up Fox and slammed him, then cinched in a surfboard maneuver.

They continued battling back and forth until Fox swept Anthony's legs on the apron and sent him to the floor.  Fox then hit a springboard inverted dive to the floor.  They battled on the floor until Anthony drilled him with a big boot.

Anthony grabbed Fox and hit a running powerbomb on the floor, sending him into a group of :fans" standing in a corner in the crowd.  Good spot.  Fox made a comeback, wiping out Anthony on the floor with a cannonball into the corner and then a big swanton into the ring for a two count.

Fox was sent into the corner but kicked off Anthony and nailed a Sliced Bread #2.  He nailed a big bombs away diving knee off the top for another two count.  They battled back and forth.  Anthony wiped Fox out and hit a springboard, twisting moonsault for a two count.

Anthony locked Fox in a bow and arrow, rolling around the ring and then lifting him up again.  Fox escaped and nailed some explosive kicks and a flying swanton off the top for another two count.  The crowd chanted, "This is awesome."

Anthony caught Fox with a powerbomb for a two count, then turned him over into a Boston Crab.  Fox fought his way to the ropes.  Anthony began jawjacking with the fans.  Fox nailed a big cannonball in the corner, wiping him out.  Anthony nailed a backhanded punch but Fox fought back.  He absorbed a forearm shot and nailed a springboard Spanish Fly for the win.

Your winner and still CZW Wired TV champion, AR Fox!

Another really great match.  Anthony is the real deal and I can see why so many people have praised his work to me in the last few months based on his RP work in Chicago.  This was a really important match for Fox in my opinion as he was forced to really work and not just do awesome athletic stuff.  You can see him growing as a worker and that's a great thing.

This is really a thumbs up show live.

Anthony received a standing ovation and a "Please come back" chant. He seemed really touched and saluted the audience.

CZW champion Masada vs. Drake Younger

They are billing this one as the winner being the greatest CZW champion of all time.  I can see really old school CZW fans taking issue with that one.

They went back and forth with power spots early, using shoulderblocks to test each other.   They traded some wrestling early, going back and forth feeling each other out, as opposed to going right for the blood and guts.

Masada grabbed a side headlock but was rolled into a pinfall combination for a two count.  Younger tried to leapfrog Masada but didn't get all the way over.  Masada wiped him out with a clothesline.   Younger nailed him to the floor and dove off the top onto the champion.

Younger tossed several chairs into the ring while Masada was down on the floor recovering.   Younger hit a flying bodypress for a two count.  Younger slammed Masada with a chair then drove another one down atop of it.  He worked over Masada in the corner and charged but had a chair kicked into his face.

Masada used a broken piece of chair to rip at Younger's head, drawing blood.   He tried to suplex Younger onto a chair but Younger slipped out of the way and used a drop toehold onto the chair.   Younger was then hiptossed on the chair.

Masada fought back drilled him with a chair to the head and powerbombed him against the steel connecting the buckles to the ringpost on the outside of the ring.  He brought Younger back into the ring and set up a chair.  He then placed Younger on the top for a superplex through said chair.

They battled back and forth and finally Masada hit a rana off the top, sending Younger through the chair.   Drake was trapped in a STF but fought for the ropes and finally made it.

Masada beat him with a chair and wedged the chair in the corner.  Younger was whipped hard into the chair for a two count.   Masada charged Younger again but was caught with an overhead throw into the corner and the chair.

Younger grabbed another chair and went to powerbomb Masada onto it but was fought off.  They battled to the top and Young used a sunset flip powerbomb into the ring on the chair.  He began burying Masada under chairs and went to the top again, nailing a double stomp for a two count.

They went back and forth until Younger nailed a full nelson back suplex for another two count.  Masada nailed a frightening looking powerbomb on the remnants of a chair.   He then hit a crazy back suplex and another standard suplex on a chair for another two count.

Masada killed him with a chairshot to the head, then small packed him, chair around the head and all, for the pin.

Your winner, Masada!

A brutal match.

Joe Gacey came out with Christina Von Eerie cutting a promo mad that he had to sit in the back watching this instead of Masada giving him the rematch he deserved.  They began brawling and VE grabbed Masada's leg, allowing Gacey to wipe him out.  He locked a submission hold on the champ, allowing VE to stab Masada with acupuncture needles.  He then laid out Masada again.

Cage of Death: Matt Tremont vs. DJ Hyde.

CZW outdid themselves this year.  They had a cage that features several panes of glass on one side, two panes of plexiglass wrapped in barbed wire on another, different fencing pieces, more panes of glass inside the ring, several steel chairs wrapped in barbed wire, and outside, a contraption that features three different panes of glass that someone who is tossed off of the cage will fall through.  Outside the ring is a contraption of several chairs with a barbed wire board across them. It takes a lot for me to drop my mouth in awe but this might just be it.

Larry Legend announced before the main event he would no longer be the permanent ring announcer for CZW.  It was way too late and took way too long to be doing this as a long drawn out deal.

DJ Hyde came out and said he was making it simple, Legend was fired and to get the hell out.  Fans were throwing toilet paper over the cage at Hyde.  He said Tremont was going to die tonight.

They faced off, circling each other.  The crowd chanted "douchebag" at Hyde.    They went nose to nose.  Hyde shoved and spit in Tremont's face.  He said he was the greatest wrestler in the world, so Tremont slapped him.

They fought and made their way towards barbed wire cage, trying to shove each other into it.  Tremont whipped Hyde into the barbed wire plexiglass cage and it exploded, raining down on the fans.   Tremont grabbed Hyde and dug a piece of metal into his head, before driving it down again and again.

Tremont nailed Hyde with several right hands and ran his head into the barbed wire cage.   He brought a chair down hard over Hyde's back and then over his head.

Tremont pointed at another pane of glass and whipped Hyde at it.  Hyde reversed the whip but Tremont saved himself....only to be speared through the glass onto a piece of railing that was bridged between the ring and the guard rail.  Hyde covered Tremont for a two count on the table.

On the outside and the table, Hyde ripped at Tremont's face and slammed him on the railing.  Hyde nailed a series of headbutts but Tremont fought back.  He picked up Hyde and rammed him through another pane of glass, bringing them back into the ring.  The pane didn't shatter.   Tremont used something and ripped at Hyde's forehead.

Tremont beat Hyde with a chair across the back.   He whipped Hyde into the barbed wire cage and then dropkicked him into it.   He charged Hyde, who backdropped him into a pane of glass set in the corner, shattering it.

Hyde grabbed a bat embedded with tacks and began beating Tremont with it.   He grabbed a cookie sheet that someone had taped a picture of his face on and slammed it down.  He picked up a chair wrapped in barbed wire and nailed Tremont over the head.  A fan threw a roll of toilet paper in the ring and nailed Hyde.

Tremont nailed a belly to belly suplex through two chairs for a two count.   The crowd chanted for Tremont.  He slammed the barbed wire chair down HARD across Hyde's back.  The crowd chanted, "This is awesome."   Tremont nailed Hyde across the face with another thumbtack bat.

Tremont then hit Hyde with a shovel embedded with tacks and grabbed another pane of glass.   He placed it atop several chairs and began choking the hell out of Hyde.  He put Hyde under the glass and climbed to the top of the cage.   He hit a frog splash off the top of the cage through the glass onto Hyde.  That was certifiably insane...and it was only good for a two count.

Tremont continued working over Hyde.  He grabbed wire cutters and cut through pieces of the barbed wire fence as a way to send Hyde through it.   He tried to powerbomb Hyde out through a pane of glass that was being  bridged by four chairs, but Hyde fought back and nailed him with a chokeslam through the glass to the floor below.  Beyond brutal.

Tremont was down and didn't get back up so everyone came running.  Hyde went to the floor and threw him back in the cage,  Tremont was bleeding from all over his back.  Hyde covered him for a two count.  Hyde nailed a side slam for another near fall.

Hyde picked up Tremont and gave him a running powerslam into a pane of glass wrapped in barbed wire.  The crowd chanted for Tremont.   Hyde picked him up and slammed him down hard.    The crowd was all over Hyde.

Hyde began climbing to the top of the cage, over the structure that had three panes of glass stacked up.  Tremont followed.  They battled at the top of the cage and Hyde went for a chokeslam off of it but Tremont grabbed him for a Death Valley Driver and off they went through all three panes, shattering them in all directions.

The crowd went nuts, chanting "CZW" loudly and then "This is awesome."  Tremont was the first to rise and  rolled Hyde in.  He covered Hyde for the pin.

Your winner, Matt Tremont!

Absolutely sick, awesome and insane stunt show for a main event.  I can't help but shake my head at the sheer lunacy I just witnessed.

That's all from CZW tonight.  Thank you again for logging in to PWInsider.com.

Seth Rollins goes to the award area and he tells Seth to get out of here. Seth yells at the award and he wants to know what makes Sting worthy of a Slammy? Is it because he cost him the biggest win of his career? Is it because he is the reason why the Authority is out of power. Either way, Seth says he is accepting this award on behalf of Sting because he doesn’t deserve it and Seth says that he does.

Paul asks to retort and he says that Brock is the current reigning and defending Undisputed WWE Champion. Brock should be called the champion for life. Seth can still be the future. Seth earned his respect when he curb stomped Brock. It is not Brock who is keeping Seth from being recognized as the Future. It is John Cena who is holding Seth back. We see a video package for Charlotte, the current NXT Women’s Champion. She says to be the best you have to beat the best. She says it isn’t about her dad, it is about her. She is genetically superior. Every time she steps into the ring, she shows why she is better than every other diva.

Bray Wyatt’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

Bray says that he will never forget the first time that he saw her. She was sitting in that rocking chair underneath the cypress tree. That was her chair.

We see Dean Ambrose destroying the rocking chair.

Bray says Dean broke a piece of him that night. He took something that did not belong to him. He took something that Bray could not replace. Bray says that he thought he should take something from Dean.

We see Dean being attacked by Bray Wyatt on Smackdown and being sent throat first into a chair that is sent onto the ring steps.

Bray asks if that shocks you. Does that frighten you? Bray says that no one realizes what they are dealing with. He is a monster. He is evil incarnate. He despises everyone one of you. You are just moths drawn into his flame. If you get too close, I will burn you. This Sunday at the TLC pay per view, you will view that fire as he stands above Dean Ambrose’s mangled body and none of you will shed a tear. Bray says that he will not allow you to cry for him because he will deserve everything coming to him.

Bray repeats Tables, Ladders, and Chairs.

An ambulance siren is heard in the arena and it backs into the building.

Dean emerges from the back of the ambulance and he has a neck brace.

Bray is shocked to see Dean.

Dean grabs a table from the back of the ambulance and throws it onto the stage. He does the same thing with chairs and a ladder.

Dean throws a chair into the ring and then he hits Bray with the ladder when Dean tries to use the chair. Dean gets more chairs and a table from under the ring. Dean throws the chairs onto a prone Wyatt in the ring. The table is brought into the ring and he sets it up. Bray gets out of the ring and Dean wants him to come back inside.
