1960 - Two of the most important figures in the history of professional wrestling, Shohei "Giant" Baba (founder of All Japan Pro Wrestling) and Antonio Inoki (founder of New Japan Pro Wrestling), make their pro wrestling debuts at a Japanese Wrestling Association show in Tokyo, Japan. Baba defeats Yonetaro Tanaka in his debut, while Inoki loses his match with Kintaro Oki.
1963 - WWWF World Champion Bruno Sammartino & Bobo Brazil & Dory Dixon defeated Gorilla Monsoon & Hans Mortier & The Shadow in Washington, DC.
1966 - WWWF World Champion Bruno Sammartino defeated the Destroyer in Sydney, Australia.

There was a special stipulation where if Nelson didn't beat Weaver, Art would have to pay Johnny $1,000. Nelson was forced to pay.

The two shook hands and embraced before exiting the ring. During the match, George Steele tried to interfere, but was escorted out by security.

The show also featured Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior defeating Andre The Giant via DQ after Andre pulled referee Danny Davis in front of a charge by the Warrior. After the bout, Warrior repeatedly hit Andre with the title belt on the floor, knocking him down

1991 - At a WWF television taping in Wheeling, West Virginia, Tito Santana wrestled his first match with his new "El Matador" character, defeating Bob Bradley with a flying forearm. Also at the taping, Intercontinental Champion Bret Hart, prior to a non-title match with The Mountie, said he would never defend the belt against "a jailbird", in reference to the Mountie having to spend a night in jail after losing to the Big Bossman. In response, manager Jimmy Hart threw a bucket of water on Hart and the Mountie "electrocuted" Hart with his cattle prod.
1992 - Glen Osbourne defeats The Sandman in a tournament final to win the ECW Television Title in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Chestnut Cabaret. The belt had been vacated a month earlier when the first champion, Johnny Hotbody, broke his ankle while winning a tournament final over Larry Winters. On the same show, Don Muraco defeats Jimmy Snuka to win the ECW Heavyweight Title.

1994 - ECW ran a television taping in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, highlighted by a match featuring Sabu and Cactus Jack. Early in the match, Sabu missed a moonsault to the floor and landed on his already injured ribs on the guardrail. Later in the bout, Sabu broke a beer bottle over the head of Cactus. Sabu actually hit Cactus with the thick bottle several times before it finally broke. Sabu then won the match with an Arabian Press. 2002 - WWE held a "Smackdown Your Vote" rally. M Scott sent the following report:
I was at the Smackdown Your Vote event at Rice University. Spike Dudley, Stacy Keibler, and RVD were the wrestlers at the event. Spike talked briefly about how it was important to help the community and use our right to vote. Stacy talked briefly about how WWE was stuck in Houston during Sept. 11. RVD mentioned that WWE was the first to have an event open to the public, which happened to be Smackdown. He did say something a bit noteworthy. He regretted not making any comments for the Smackdown after Sept. 11. He thought making comments would just take away from the victims and would just be a form of publicity. Instead, he realized this was a time to remember the event and express feelings about it. He was moved by the other wrestlers' remarks.
After the three spoke, the fans (about 100 or so) signed the constitution. They then got autographs and had pictures taken. RVD got a huge response from the crowd. WWE better start putting him at the top soon. Just one other note. WWE had a lot of its own "media" covering the event, which I found to be a bit unsettling.
2002 - During an edition of Raw from Houston, Texas, Kane became a double champion and set up an opportunity to become a triple champion. Already one-half of the World Tag Team Champions with The Hurricane, Kane defeats Chris Jericho to win the Intercontinental Title with a chokeslam, despite the interference of Triple H. As a result of this win, Kane earned a title shot a Triple H's World Championship at No Mercy. Tim Whitehead reporting:
The 9/30 episode of RAW IS PARANOID ABOUT MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL aired live from Houston. It was a solid show overall. Nothing was really bad, most of it was okay, and the main event was way better than one would have expected. The crowd was hot. Monday Night Football got mentioned so many times that you'd think they must have been getting paid royalties. Throughout the commentary, references kept being made about how the action you're seeing on RAW is better than on Monday Night Football. Eric Bischoff mentioned football, too. It was such overkill, it looked desperate.
The show opened with Bischoff in the ring with Lita. He said anyone thinking about switching over to Monday Night Football should keep the channel on RAW because that's where the action is. Too bad NFL games air live, stopping Bischoff from giving away the final score. Bischoff promised that Triple H, Chris Jericho, and Trish Stratus would each defend their respective titles during the show, though he didn't mention who their challengers would be. He then announced that at No Mercy, there will be a match between the RAW World Champion and the IC champ to effectively unify those belts. So after creating the new RAW World Title a few weeks back, they're now phasing belts out again. I guess it's just as well, but this could all have been avoided by just not creating a second world title in the first place. Bischoff said his title unification would be unorthodox, unprecedented, and radical, but hey, that's what Eric Bischoff is all about, or so he said. Jim Ross said Bischoff was doing some "ballsy" booking. Bischoff next turned his attention to Lita. He noted that, during a Q & A session at wwe.com, she had called Smackdown a superior show to RAW. She also said it wasn't the RAW talent's fault that the show isn't at the same level as Smackdown. Bischoff took offense and called Lita a little bitch, adding that she's worthless after breaking her neck out in Hollywood trying to be a big TV star. Lita said if Bischoff showed more respect to the performers who risk their lives every night in the ring, they might have more respect for him in return. This reminded everyone who hadn't yet figured it out that Smackdown is, in fact, the better show. Bischoff said he didn't want her opinion, and invoked his three minute phrase. JR got nervous, noting that Lita is still recovering from a broken neck. Rosey & Jamal appeared in the ring, along with Rico. Jeff Hardy charged in to protect Lita but after a brief flurry the heels laid him out. Booker T & Goldust then successfully made the save, sending Rosey & Jamal & Rico from the ring. Bischoff, from the safety of the ramp, ordered the Booker & Goldust vs. Rosey & Jamal match, which he had scheduled last week, to begin immediately. So Rosey & Jamal went back in....
Rosey & Jamal defeated Booker & Goldust in 6:33. Booker dominated early. Goldust got double flapjacked and it looked like it hurt. The fans kept chanting "Rico sucks". Jerry Lawler asked how they would know if he sucks, and JR said it's written on bathroom walls. They also chanted "Rico's gay". Booker hot tagged in after a period of doubling on Goldust. Rosey accidentally splashed Jamal. Booker did the spinaroonie to a big pop. The crowd was really into the match. Booker got a near fall on Jamal with a scissor kick. Rico kicked Goldust. Booker hit a double lariat. He went after Rico and nailed him with a kick, but the distraction allowed Rosey to catch him with a slam. Jamal then splashed Booker off the top and got the pin.
They replayed Jamal's splash twice after the break. Jonathan Coachman then interviewed the heel threesome. Rico said he came to RAW to lead Rosey & Jamal to the World Tag Titles. Rosey & Jamal warned that anyone getting in their way will receive the "three minute warning", which is their big splash off the top, I presume.
Christian blamed Lance Storm for getting pinned last week and costing them the World Tag Titles. Storm blamed it on having a partner who screamed like a little girl as he was being chokeslammed by Hurricane. Christian defended himself by noting that Hurricane's a superhero, as if that makes his chokeslam devastating. Test told them to stop arguing like American babies. William Regal warned them about their infighting and said they all need to support Storm in his upcoming match against Randy Orton. Christian wished Storm luck, but it was sort of sarcastic. There's trouble in UnAmericanLand.
Terri interviewed Jericho. She asked if he was worried that he might lose his IC Title to Kane, who, it turned out, was his scheduled opponent. Jericho boasted that he'll beat Kane and go on to No Mercy for the title unification with the RAW World Champion. He called Terri an ass clown for even suggesting he might be concerned, adding that Kane's chances are about as real as her chest. Gregory Helms walked up doing the mild-mannered reporter gimmick. He asked Jericho how he could possibly think he could beat Kane. Jericho said freaks aren't cool, they're losers. He cited Booker & Goldust's earlier loss as proof. He called himself a champ and a huge rock star, adding that he isn't worried about some giant red jackass in a mask. Kane then arrived, and Jericho quickly found an excuse to depart. Terri reminded Kane about how he kissed her last week, and she then gave him a very sexy kiss. Kane said chicks love his mask.
Randy Orton defeated Lance Storm in 2:38. Orton dominated, as Christian, who was watching on a monitor in back, smirked. Storm kicked the hell out of Orton. Orton came back and hit his high bodypress off the top for a near fall. They started trading roll-ups. Storm tried to use the tights but Orton used them right back and scored the pin. I'm not sure why they didn't just let Orton win with his finisher, but maybe they didn't want to totally squash Storm. Christian came out afterward and put on JR's cowboy hat. He said he didn't know who appeared more stupid, Storm for dropping the ball again or himself for dressing like the locals in Texas. Storm attacked Orton again but Orton backdropped him from the ring. Christian said Storm proved he can't handle the rookie Orton, so he challenged Orton himself.
Orton beat Christian in 2:49. Christian dominated as a "USA" chant started. There wasn't much heat for the match against Storm, but the angle started getting the crowd interested here. Orton still isn't over as a star, but angles like this are what's needed to get him there. Orton hit a high backdrop and a powerslam for a near fall. Christian sidestepped Orton's high crossbody, acting as if that proved he's smarter than Storm. Orton then won with a sort of step-over neckbreaker. Unfortunately they botched it the first time, but it connected the second time. Orton gave JR his hat back as Christian and Storm continued arguing.
Bischoff lectured Jeff for his attack on Rosey & Jamal, warning him to never again interfere in his business. As punishment he ordered Jeff to again wrestle Big Show. I wonder if there's an inside joke in that. Bischoff said he's been hearing a lot of talk about "Mattitude" and thinks he maybe got stuck with the wrong Hardy. Ric Flair walked up, trying to be buddy-buddy with Bischoff now that he's a heel again. He said he tried to give Jeff advice in the past but Jeff wouldn't take it. Rob Van Dam had requested a match against Flair, and Flair hoped Bishchoff would reject that request. But Bischoff said he was still considering it, to Flair's disappointment. Bischoff also wanted to know how Flair was doing on that "ex-Smackdown" deal, and Flair promised to produce results. So I guess this will be another recruitment of some sort.
They aired a good RVD short video feature.
Jeff defeated Big Show by count-out in 3:29. Okay, maybe this was an exception to my earlier statement that nothing on the show was really bad. Jackie, by the way, was special ref here. Jeff charged Show on the ramp but ran into a boot. In the ring, Jeff kept throwing kicks, which finally had a little effect. Show lariated Jeff and hurled him from the ring. Show charged Jeff in slow motion and hit the post when Jeff moved. Show got a chair but Jeff dropkicked it into his face, and show bumped over the rail. Show got counted out. He was angry afterward, showing more fire than he did during the match.
Several Houston Texans players were shown in the audience, which was pretty funny after all the ragging on football during commentary.
Booker confronted Jericho over calling him a loser earlier. Jericho bragged that he was the first Undisputed champ, the current IC champ, the next RAW World champ, the king of the world, and a huge rock star. Booker challenged him to fight right there in Houston (Booker's hometown), but Jericho didn't accept, insisting that Booker was lucky he already had that scheduled match against Kane.
Hour two began with HHH defeating Bubba Ray Dudley in 7:08 to retain the RAW World Title. JR & Lawler, who had found out earlier that Bubba would be HHH's challenger, kept saying this was Bubba's dream to finally get a world title shot, as if this was his first one. They always ignore house show title shots. Bubba came out early and spray painted "HHH" on a table. He vowed that at some point HHH will go through a table. I thought he went through one last week. Bubba said he'd prove he's more than just a tag wrestler and added that he's fighting for all the guys in the locker room who have had to play the game (an inside knock on HHH's backstage maneuvering) and for the fans who have never had something just handed to them (like HHH's title). HHH came out, with Flair accompanying him. I guess it gives Flair a role, but it seems odd seeing him as a sidekick after so many years as a leader. Bubba gave HHH a big backdrop and sent him over the top. He then hauled HHH back in. HHH raked Bubba's eyes and tossed him out. Bubba got into it with Flair on the floor, allowing HHH to sucker punch him. Flair put the boots to Bubba as HHH argued with the ref. HHH hit a neckbreaker for a two count. He hooked the sleeper but Bubba suplexed him. Bubba scored some twos. Flair went to the top but Bubba slammed him off. Bubba hit the Bubba Bomb on HHH, but when he went for the pin, the ref was busy ejecting Flair from the ring. Bubba slugged Flair again, which allowed HHH to make a comeback and win with the pedigree. A solid match. It didn't have heat early but it was fine by the end.
Victoria attacked Trish Stratus backstage and they had a better-than-usual brawl that was pretty stiff. Trish was left laying just minutes before having to defend her belt against Victoria.
Footage aired of a Smackdown the Vote rally at Rice University featuring WWE stars. Shouldn't they call it a RAW the Vote rally on this show?
Trish beat Victoria by DQ in 2:53 to retain the women's title. Trish attacked Victoria before the match. Basically, they brawled, with the idea being put forth that Victoria had gone wild. Victoria did a moonsault. Trish got her knees up. Victoria missed the knees but sold it anyway. Trish hit a huracanrana. They fought out to the floor where Victoria hit Trish with a decent chairshot for the DQ.
Bischoff was spinning a big wheel, like on some game show. It had his face in the middle and a bunch of blank spaces where match stipulations could be added. He told Stacy Keibler that next week, since RAW will be in Las Vegas, he'll pick all the match stipulations by a spin of the wheel. Didn't WCW do that nonsense once? He said the stips could range from cage matches to street fights to kiss-my-ass matches to HLA. Stacy said she's in the semi-finals of the internet babe of the year contest with Trish. She complained that, as women's champ, Trish is getting more air time. So Bischoff gave her a match against Trish for the title for next week, with the stips, of course, to be decided by the wheel. Bischoff bragged they don't have anything like this wheel on Monday Night Football, which probably caused 346,873 viewers to switch channels to see if he was right.
A good Randy Orton video aired. These short videos are great.
Christian and Storm were still arguing backstage. Test called them both losers. Regal said he and Test will win their match by displaying harmony together.
Coach went to HHH's locker room, trying to get an interview. Flair was there with a babe. HHH came out of the shower. They only showed him from the chest up but everyone was acting like he was nude. Two chicks peeped out of the shower and kept begging HHH to come back. That was pretty funny. Jericho came in and wanted to talk with HHH, if HHH could get the blood to go back to his head long enough. Jericho wanted to cut some kind of deal with HHH, since at No Mercy the RAW champ and the IC champ face one another. So HHH dismissed Coach. Jericho told HHH to put some pants on. He then began trying to impress Flair's girl by telling her he's a major rock star. Funny stuff!
RVD & Tommy Dreamer defeated Test & Regal in 4:49. They aired a clip of Dreamer's thrashing of Christopher Nowinski last week in the classroom, explaining that Nowinski will be out six weeks as a result (he is legit injured and that angle was done to explain his absence). RVD's ribs were still taped. The babyfaces were in control until Test hit a knee to the ribs. The heels worked on the ribs until RVD made a hot tag. Regal and Test kept doing spots where they would accidentally hit one another. RVD hit Test with a thrust kick and Dreamer pinned him. Afterward, Storm & Christian ran in for a big UnAmerican brawl. Storm sent Christian out, and Regal did the same with Test. RVD & Dreamer went back in and laid Regal & Storm out. So the UnAmericans are ungimmicked.
Footage aired of the Seattle press conference, which was something of a fiasco, announcing that WrestleMania XIX will be in that city.
Kane defeated Jericho to capture the IC Title in 19:37. This was a long match for sure by RAW standards. Kane started off by tossing Jericho around. Kane gave him a big bodyslam but Flair, who had arrived at ringside, put Jericho's foot on the ropes. Presumably Jericho cut some deal for HHH & Flair to help him retain the title, though it wasn't explained why HHH should care. Maybe HHH is supposed to be scared of Kane or something. Kane threw Jericho from the ring for a huge bump. The referee ordered Flair out. Kane then pounded Flair up the ramp. They went to a commercial break, and Kane was still on offense when they returned. Jericho took command after Kane got crotched. Jericho hit a springboard dropkick, a superplex, and some kicks. Jericho began working on Kane's knee, including a figure four around the post. Kane suplexed Jericho out to the floor. Back inside, Kane powerslammed Jericho for a near fall. Kane threw Jericho out again, and this time he hit the post going over. HHH came out and Kane slugged him, but that allowed Jericho to make another comeback. Jericho hit a bulldog and went for a lionsault. Kane caught Jericho by the throat and was about to hit the chokeslam but HHH caused Kane to bump out. HHH suplexed Kane on the floor. Jericho hit a missile kick on Kane for a two count. HHH distracted the ref and Jericho hit Kane in the knee with a chair. He hooked the walls but Kane made the ropes. Jericho came at Kane with a chair but got a boot to his face instead. Kane then won with a chokeslam. Pretty good main event! Jericho and Kane worked surprisingly well together despite a potential style clash. HHH looked displeased that he'll now be facing Kane at No Mercy.

2004 - WWE hosted a political debate between JBL and Mick Foley. George Dafnos filed the following report:
I just wanted to offer my non-political thoughts on the debate last night. It was held at the my alma mater, the University of Miami (GO CANES!). About 30 minutes before show time, they opened the doors. WWE were giving out 4 different t-shirts with the Smackdown Your Vote logos on them. In the lobby, there was also one of the 25 original copies of the Declaration of Independence on display. While waiting for the debate to start, Linda McMahon was seen walking around backstage speaking to several people. About 100-150 people attended the debate. I talked to a few people to gauge their interest in WWE and most people said something to the effect of, "I used to watch it, I haven't in a couple years though. Is the Rock still around?" Then when told Bradshaw was WWE Champion, I got the best responses. I received mostly, "Yeah, right." "Are you kidding?" "...and that's why I don't watch anymore".
Before the debate started, the moderator, Jake Tapper, an ABC News Correspondent, told the audience that although questions will be allowed from the audience, they must be strictly on the topic of politics and not on the content of Monday Night RAW. That drew some boos. Then Tapper informed us of the 3 topics to be discussed: the economy, the war in Iraq, and education. He then introduced Mick Foley and WWE Champion John "Bradshaw" Layfield (no belt).
The debate proceeded to begin with the usual WWE intro video that comes on before their programming. Stephanie McMahon was introduced and gave a short speech on the importance of voting and how important the 18-30 vote is. Man, Stephanie has lost A LOT of weight. She looks phenomenal now. It was unbelievable.
The debate started with Foley and his student partner debating with Layfield and his student partner. Without giving any political talk, I'll just say that both men came off very informed and intelligent. The only wrestling references that came up were a DX reference by Foley, a threat to bring out Flair (A huge Republican) by Layfield, and Layfield pleading with Foley at one point to "not bring out that damn sock". The only heat Foley received the whole night was when Layfield disclosed that Foley was an alumnus of arch-rival Florida State University.
After the debate was over, there was a banquet in the lobby where the Superstars mingled with the audience. You could just go up to them one-on-one and shoot the breeze for a while. There were only about 30 audience people attending the banquet. The WWE people in attendance were Mick Foley, John "Bradshaw" Layfield, Christopher Nowinski, Mark Henry, Stephanie McMahon, Linda McMahon, and Vince McMahon. NAWA Rampage Television Episode 1 - includes title match
Match 1: JT Lamotta vs Adrian Ambrose
This is Adrian Ambrose's debut in NAWA.
The match starts off with some good back-and-forth technical wrestling. Lamotta executes a back suplex and follows up with a knee strike, but Ambrose rolls him up for a quick one count. Adrian takes down his opponent with an arm drag and slams his arm down to the mat. He goes for a pin attempt, which is good for a count of two. Double A dropkicks the legs out from under JT, going for another quick pin, and getting another two. AA locks in a half-Boston crab and then an STF (my favorite move!), but unfortunately for the newbie, Lamotta makes the ropes for the break. The NAWA veteran locks in his own submission move, which resembled a Texas Cloverleaf, and this time, Ambrose has to grab the ropes for the rope break. A Squared nails JTL with a spinebuster and Lamotta kicks out at two during the ensuing cover. Lamotta turns the tables with a swinging neckbreaker - Ambrose with the kickout at two when he's pinned. Lamotta with a snap suplex and an X-Factor; he covers the debuting Ambrose, but it's only good for two. JT rushes Ambrose in the corner, but there's no water in the pool, as Lamotta goes crashing into the top turnbuckle. Ambrose kicks Lamotta in the gut a few times, making him bounce up and down on the ropes. Lamotta attempts his Dirt Nap finisher, but Ambrose reverses it by planting Lamotta's face into the mat and getting the victory.
Winner: Adrian Ambrose (pinfall at 6:40)
Match 2: Brown Brothers (Jerry Brown & Jeff Brown) vs Andrew Dalton & Lance Hoyt
Lance Hoyt formerly wrestled under the moniker Dallas and he's now a TNA superstar and a former NWA World Tag Team Champion. The Brown Brothers played football at Granbury High School. Andrew Dalton is a second-generation wrestler.
The Brown Brothers knock down Dalton with a double shoulder block. Jerry nails Andy Dalton with a powerslam and tags in Jeff. Jeff executes a Russian leg sweep and goes for the cover, but Dalton kicks out at two. A tag is made and Jerry comes in, helping with a double team move on AD. Jerry attempts a pin, but Hoyt breaks it up at the two. Jerry gets knocked down with a back elbow and Dalton covers him, earning a two count. A tag is made and Hoyt comes in. As the ref is busy with keeping Jeff from coming in, Dalton claps his hands together to simulate a tag. Dalton fells Jerry with a punch and gives him a nonchalant cover - Jerry predictably gets the shoulder up before three. A bodyslam by Dalton is followed by a tag to the big Hoyt. The former NWA World Tag Team Champion sends Jerry to the corner and rushes him, but there's nobody home. Lance recovers quickly and connects with a wicked clothesline, following with a pin, and getting a count of two. Dalton claps his hands again and comes in illegally while the ref is busy with Jeff. A double clothesline later and both wrestlers are down. Jerry recovers and tags in Jeff. Jeff connects with a dropkick and punches Hoyt off of the apron. Jeff comes in and the Brown Brothers hit a double-team EMERALD FUSION~! and that's all she wrote.
Winner: Brown Brothers (pinfall at 5:50)
Post-match: Andrew Dalton shoves Lance Hoyt, so Hoyt responds with a big boot.
Match 3: NAWA Championship - Gemini (c) vs Robert Evans
Robert Evans is a former NAWA Champion.
Gemini with a hip toss, followed by a couple of clotheslines. He whips Evans to the turnbuckles and smashes him with another clothesline. Evans reverses momentum with a spear to the leg of Gemini and he starts targeting the injured leg, including executing a Dragon Screw. He goes for the cover, but only gets a two count. Rob Evans connects with a leg drop and goes for another pin...1...2...NO! The Champion sends RE to the corner and rushes him, but he eats turnbuckle as Evans dodges out of the way. Evans slingshots Gemini over and rolls through, locking in a Boston Crab, then switching to a half-Boston Crab. Gemini crawls to the rope for the break. The G-Man gets his second wind and nails a Russian leg sweep and an elbow drop. The challenger locks in another half-Boston Crab, but Gemini rolls over and positions himself on top of him - Evans kicks out at two. Gemini knocks him down with a desperate enzuigiri, the sound of the contact reverberated around the room! Gemini runs the ropes and fells Robbie Evans with a flying clothesline and a snap suplex; he presses the attack with a spinning leg drop and a pin attempt, and Evans gets the shoulder up before three.
Gemini, still selling the leg injury, bodyslams Robert Evans and climbs to the middle rope, but Evans catches him and executes a Russian leg sweep off of the turnbuckle. Evans with the cover...1....2...NO! Gemini recovers and gives him an inverted Atomic Drop and a Northern Lights suplex with a bridge - Evans manages to kick out at two. Evans rushes Gemini in the corner, but there's nobody home. Evans locks in the Sharpshooter, but Gemini barely makes it to the ropes to escape the hold. Evans drags him back in the middle of the ring and attempts another Sharpshooter, but he goes to the well too many times and Gemini with the rollup out of nowhere for the three count.
Winner and STILL NAWA Champion: Gemini (pinfall at 10:45)
Post-match: Robert Evans throws a tantrum in the ring.

This was presented by Liberty States Wrestling. [www.lswwrestling.com] Apparently there wasn't a lot of promotion or advertising for this show job. The reason I surmise this is because the show had the Rock & Roll Express, the Midnight Express, American Dragon, Ace Steele and John Walters on it, and it drew.......45 people. I counted. (It wasn't difficult.) Some more may have come in after that, but not many. At most we're talking maybe - maybe - 60 people.
60 people for the Rock & Roll Express, the original Midnight Express, and the ROH World champion. It takes a special degree of talent to achieve that level of success.
Did I also mention that they were well into the 2nd match before they got the lights turned on in the building? They had some ringside lights for the first match, NOTHING for half of the second. Yes, we had a literal 'dark match'. This after starting almost an hour late. Oh, and they were taping this for a video release!
Anyway, on with the results:
Los Geckos Locos b. The Silver Bullets. Four fat white guys in lucha outfits. Awful.
Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson d. Fred Sampson.
The next match was for the NWA Northeast x Division title. Unfortunately I didn't get any of the names except for Jason Rumble. Match wasn't bad but this when the lights went out entirely, which was more than a little distracting. They finally got the normal house lights for the building on toward the end of the match.
Judas Young b. [masked guy] followed by an intermission. Fortunately the show got better in the 2nd half.
The Rock & Roll Express b. The Midnight Express when Ricky Morton rolled up Dennis Condrey. Obviously not exactly a highspot festival, but lots of fun old school stuff. The 2 teams appeared to be enjoying themselves out there despite the circumstances. Some idiots in front of me were actually heckling Morton over his mullet, which made me want to kill them.
Crowbar d. Josh Daniels. This was supposed to be Crowbar vs Daniels vs X-Pac, but apparently X-Pac no-showed. As it turned out, he wasn't missed. Apparently nobody told these 2 guys that they were wrestling in a near empty building, as they went out there and KILLED each other for about 25 minutes. They did some great in-ring action, including vicious chops by Daniels, who is a Chris Benoit type wrestler and is very nearly as good as Benoit himself. Then they went outside and Crowbar destroyed Daniels with chairshots and whips into the guard rails. Then he took a section of the steel railing, put it on the chairs, put Daniels on it, and hit him with multiple suicide dives. Like I said, these guys KILLED themselves, for around 50 people. You can't fault their work ethic, that's for sure. Eventually they got back in the ring for more stiff action, with a chair often involved. before Crowbar finally suplexed Daniels onto a metal chair and got the pin. They got a well deserved standing ovation afterward. this might have been the best match I've ever seen Crowbar have. This match changed the whole tone of the show as people went from sitting on their hands to really getting into it for the rest of the night, despite the depressing surroundings and microscopic crowd.
Ace Steele d "Hurricane" John Walters. Very good match.
Next it was the main event: American Dragon Bryan Danielson defending his ROH World Heavyweight Championship [it was announced as a title defense] against.....Kamala The Ugandan Giant! No, I'm not making this up. Prince Nana made a surprise appearance as the special ref for this match, and played heel, refusing to count Dragon's pin attempts. Match was basically Dragon playing the 80s style come-from-behind babyface while brawling all over the place with Kamala.
It was actually a really fun match. Finally as they were brawling around the building, Dragon got fed up and clocked both the interfering Kimchee and ref Nana. As they brawled to the back (and back out again), it was announced that Nana had disqualified American Dragon. Your winner by DQ: Kamala!!
Yes, Kamala The Ugandan Giant now holds a victory over the ROH world champion. Ya just gotta love it. I probably sound like I'm mocking it, but in truth this was a really fun 80s-WWF style match. It was a little bizarre seeing American Dragon in this type of role, but he did good job with it.
They announced a tag team rematch in Garfield NJ [I believe NJ is the promotion's home base] next month, with American Dragon and a mystery partner vs Kamala and a mystery partner.
Does this mean Kamala will be getting a title shot on the next ROH show? (Probably not.)
2008 - WWE broadcast ECW on Sci fi. Buck Woodward filed the following TV report:
Welcome to tonight's coverage of ECW on SciFi on PWInsider.com.
ECW opened with Todd Grisham & Matt Striker welcoming us to Green Bay, Wisconsin. ECW General Manager Theodore R. Long and his assistant Tiffany were in the ring, and brought out ECW Champion Matt Hardy. Hardy's challenger for No Mercy this Sunday, Mark Henry, was then brought out, along with Tony Atlas. Tiffany tried to shake Henry's hand, but he just glared at her. Long said he was giving both men the chance to make final comments before the PPV match. Henry said Hardy had a bad week coming, since he has to face Chris Jericho and Triple H on Smackdown this week. Henry said Long won't admit it, but he wishes Henry was still champion, since it would guarantee a victory on Friday. Henry said Hardy would embarrass ECW. Hardy said he would represent ECW proudly. Henry said Hardy shouldn't be in the match, since no one beat him for the title. Henry said he would correct that on Sunday. Hardy said he has a tough week, but he loves the challenge. Hardy talked about representing the ECW locker room and the ECW fans, and said Henry was all about his ego, and getting a Hall Of Famer to "carry his bags". Henry said they could settle things right now, but Long got between them.
The Miz & John Morrison came out on the stage, and started complaining about how Theodore R. Long matched them against each other last week, then let Ricky Ortiz ruin their "match of the year". Miz & Morrison said they wanted the "nerds", Ricky Ortiz & Evan Bourne, in the ring right now. Long made a six-man tag main event of Mark Henry, Miz & John Morrison vs. Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne & Ricky Ortiz for later tonight.
Jack Swagger vs. Lenny Lane.
No mention of Lenny Lane's WCW past. Swagger took Lane down and put him in a front facelock. Swagger took down Lane with a waistlock, then lifted him and hit a gutbuster. Swagger stomped Lane, and Lane tried to throw a few punches, but Swagger hit him with a knee lift. Swagger delivered a gutwrench powerbomb and scored the pin in under two minutes.
Winner: Jack Swagger.
Post-match, Swagger pulled Lane back in the ring and hit a neckbreaker. Tommy Dreamer ran out, and Swagger bailed out of the ring. Swagger left while Dreamer checked on Lane, and the announcers noted that Dreamer was in the next match.
Tommy Dreamer vs. Mike Knox.
Dreamer and Knox locked up, and Knox hit a knee to the gut. They traded hiptoss attempts, then Knox hit a shoulderblock, but missed an elbowdrop. Dreamer battled back and jumped off the second rope, only to have Knox nail him with a lariat. Knox hit a vertical suplex, then delivered a Brody-like kneedrop. Knox applied a rear chinlock, but Dreamer fought up and punched out of it. Dreamer grabbed Knox' beard and delivered punches to the head. Dreamer hit a kick the face, then a bulldog and a neckbreaker. Dreamer delivered an elbowdrop for two, but Knox elbowed Dreamer in the back of the neck as he tried to move him near the ropes. Knox charged Dreamer, and Dreamer gave him a drop toe hold into the turnbuckles. Dreamer charged, but Knox moved and Dreamer went between the ropes and into the ringpost. Knox hit a twisting faceplant to get the pin at the three minute mark.
Winner: Mike Knox.
Jack Swagger came out as Knox exited. Swagger picked Dreamer up off the mat and delivered a gutwrench powerbomb. Swagger walked off smiling.
John Morrison, The Miz & Mark Henry (with Tony Atlas) vs. Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne & Ricky Ortiz.
Bourne started off with Miz. Miz backed Bourne in the corner and stomped him down. Bourne got right back up and hit a jumping knee, but Miz delivered a shoulderblock. Bourne hit a spinkick for a two count, then tagged in Ortiz, who took Miz down with a waistlock and Bourne dropkicked him in the head. Miz hit Ortiz in the throat and tagged in Morrison. Morrison delivered some forearms, but missed a clothesline and Ortiz hit a shoulderblock. Ortiz flipped Morrison out of a corner by his feet and scored a two count. Bourne was tagged in, and Morrison backdropped him to the apron. Bourne flipped back into the ring, but Miz tripped him from the floor. Morrison kicked Bourne to the floor, and Miz hit a shot on the outside. Morrison tossed Bourne back into the ring and went to work on his arm. Bourne came back with some kicks to the leg, but Morrison nailed him with a roundhouse kick. Miz tagged in and hit a legdrop on Bourne for a two count, then applied an armbar. Bourne broke free and gave Miz a standing rana, then tagged in Matt Hardy, who scored a two count on Miz with a neckbreaker. Hardy gave Miz a Side Effect, then backdropped Morrison as he ran in. Hardy gave Morrison and Miz a double clothesline, and they fell to the floor. Mark Henry walked in, and Bourne & Ortiz ran in to back up Hardy. The referee was getting Henry out of the ring as they went to break.
Back from the break, Hardy armdragged Morrison and applied an armbar. Morrison tried to stand up, but Hardy armdragged him back down. Ortiz was tagged in, and he hit a double axhandle from the middle rope on the arm. Ortiz applied an overhead wristlock, then tagged Hardy back in. Hardy hit a elbowdrop to the arm from the second rope. Evan Bourne was tagged in, and Bourne jumped off Hardy's back to hit a flying elbow on Morrison in a corner. Bourne tagged in Ortiz, and they took turns kicking Morrison's back. Ortiz tagged Bourne, who hit a top rope double stomp on the outstretched arm of Morrison. Ortiz tagged in and kicked Morrison in the gut. Morrison kicked away a backdrop attempt and tagged in Mark Henry. Henry clotheslined Ortiz, then headbutted him to the mat. Henry decked Ortiz with a punch, then stomped him. Henry backed Ortiz in his corner and tagged Miz. Miz snapmared Ortiz and applied a cravate. Ortiz spun out of it, then gave Miz a sunset flip for two. Miz hit a clothesline, then tagged in Morrison, who pounded Ortiz with punches on the mat. Morrison applied a chinlock, then put Ortiz in a headscissors.
Ortiz got to his feet, lifting Morrison on his shoulders. Ortiz hit the electric chair, but Morrison tagged Miz, who cut off Ortiz from making the tag. Miz stomped Ortiz, then dragged him to his corner and tagged Morrison, who kicked Ortiz in the gut. Morrison applied a front chancery, but Ortiz began muscling towards his corner. Morrison nailed Hardy on the apron, but then Ortiz decked Morrison and tagged in Bourne. Bourne hit a series of kicks on Morrison, punctuating his attack with a springboard kick off the ropes. Bourne went to the top rope and hit a flying double knee to the chest. Miz ran in, and Matt Hardy came in to fight him. Miz pulled Hardy by the pants, sending him from the ring. Ortiz ran in and clotheslined Miz, sending both of them to the floor. Morrison tagged in Henry, with Bourne standing alone in the ring. Bourne fired some kicks at Henry's legs, then bounced off the ropes, only to be tossed in the air by Henry, who then caught Bourne and planted him with the World's Strongest Slam for the win at the 18 minute mark.
Winners: Mark Henry, Miz & John Morrison.
Matt Hardy, from the floor, and Mark Henry, in the ring, had a staredown as the announcers speculated on what Hardy would do against Henry on Sunday to end the show.

Tonight's episode opens with a recap of last week's festivities involving Abyss and the returning Rob Van Dam, along with the announcement that they will face one another at Bound For Glory on 10/10/10.
Backstage, Kurt Angle is on the phone with Hulk Hogan and thanking him for his support while also promising that he will win the title at Bound For Glory. Angle continues by promising that he'll take care of Abyss tonight in a cage match, but he has to go because a backstage hand tells him that the show's starting. Uh...it's actually already started, Kurt. Good thing we had a camera backstage so we knew why Impact wasn't starting on time.
Okay, now that Kurt's ready, he comes out to the ring for our show opening promo segment. Angle says he knows that Hulk Hogan is somewhere in some hospital bed recovering from another back injury, and wishes him well and says the Impact Zone misses him. The crowd cheers and starts chanting Hogan's name. That is so depressing. Angle thanks Hogan for the confidence he has in him, but the only things standing between him and the TNA World Title are Jeff Hardy and Ken Anderson, and they're both great competitors, but Angle promises Hogan that he will not let him down. As for the favor Hogan asked of him tonight, Angle promises not to let him down on that, either. Abyss has caused way too much damage as of late by taking out Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy, and he keeps warning everybody about 10/10/10, but Angle's warning Abyss about 9/30/10, because tonight he's going to cut the cancer that is Abyss out of TNA. Compliments of Hulk Hogan, tonight's main event will be Kurt Angle against Abyss in a cage match. Abyss' music hits and Abyss comes stalking out of the crowd towards the ring, so Angle does the smart thing and dashes out of the ring and after the guy who's gone around crippling every main eventer in the company. The brawl goes backstage, and it's a good thing they had the Kurt Is Late Cam backstage, because now it's following the two of them around the backstage area. Abyss rams Kurt into the wall before bashing him in the face with a ladder, then takes a chair and goes after Kurt with it, but Kurt kicks Abyss in the gut and gets ahold of the chair, slamming it across Abyss' back and then stomping Abyss into oblivion. Angle chokes Abyss out while telling Abyss that if he wants to cripple him like he did to Rob Van Dam and Abyss, he's up against a completely different animal. Of course, this animal also has a groin, which Abyss punches him in before repeatedly unloading on Angle with rights. Angle comes back with a shot in the groin of his own, but the D-Lo Brown Militia (aka security) comes running in to separate them before it gets too out of hand.
Backstage, the D-Lo Brown Militia is trying to calm Angle down when Abyss comes out of nowhere to try and attack Angle again. The Militia get between them immediately and pull them apart as Angle yells at Abyss that he has his number.
Time for our first match...
Lumberjack Match: Beer Money vs Tommy Dreamer & Rhino
EV2.0 rushes the ring and they start brawling right away. Storm bails out to the floor as Tommy hits a crossbody on Roode and punches his face in. Tag out to Rhino and they whip Roode in for a double back elbow for 2. Rhino whips Roode into the corner and gets a backdrop coming out. Rhino sets for the Gore and Roode bails to the floor to escape, but then realizes he's right next to Sabu and rolls back in. Storm catches Rhino in the back of the head with a leaping enziguiri and tags in and starts choking Rhino. Snapmare and a pair of kneedrops gets 2 for Storm, then Roode tags in and whips Rhino into the fopes and follows him in with a knee to the gut, does it again, and finishes the combo with a back suplex for 2. Tag back out to Storm and they get a double vertical suplex and do the BEER...MONEY! thing. Incidentally, I don't find that as dumb as I guess a lot of people do. They're not supposed to be doing it to pop the crowd, they're supposed to be doing it to piss them off. Anyway, Rhino rolls out to the floor and gets beaten up by Fortune and then rolled back in the ring where Roode covers him for 2. Roode with a bearhug from the side, but Rhino escapes and they go blow-for-blow until Rhino grabs Roode and delivers a belly to belly suplex and makes the hot tag. Dreamer comes in and goes to work on Storm and then baseball slides Roode off the apron. Storm goes for the superkick, but Dreamer blocks and traps Storm in a Crippler Crossface. Roode breaks it up, but Rhino goes after him and both men tumble over the top and wind up in the middle of a big Fortune-EV2.0 brawl on the floor. AJ Styles gets up on the apron and spits something in Dreamer's eyes, and Brian Kendrick jumps up on the apron and tackles Styles to the floor as Roode rolls up Dreamer for 2. Dreamer suddenly gets the Death Valley Driver out of nowhere and covers Roode for the win.
Winners: Tommy Dreamer & Rhino
Sabu comes in after the match and sets up a chair, then hits a triple jump dive to the floor to wipe out Fortune. Mick Foley gets a microphone and says that's enough, he doesn't want to see any more fighting or bodies outside the ring, he wants to see two people inside the ring. He tells Ric Flair that they've been going around and around for a long time, and it's about time they resolve their differences, so he's inviting Flair into the ring to clear the air. EV2.0 try to get in Flair's face, but Foley tells them to let him through because they need to have a conversation. Looks like we'll find out their thoughts on the upcoming midterm elections...after this commercial!
Okay, we're back and Ric Flair asks Foley if he wanted to talk to Ric Flair: The Wrestling God? Flair asks if they're on the air, and Foley says they are and he wants to talk to Ric Flair: The Man face to face right now. Flair asks Foley "What do you want to talk about, you asshole?" Foley says the world is focused on 10/10/10, the biggest show of the year, but he thinks that he and Flair need to focus on some other numbers, such as 10/7/10. He talked to Dixie Carter and said it's time for Mick Foley and Ric Flair to settle their differences on 10/7/10, and he's asking Flair to meet him in the ring, one week from tonight when they go live, in the ring for the very last time. Flair drops the mic and walks out of the ring, and grabs a copy of Mick Foley's latest book out of the hands of some fat broad at ringside. Flair picks the mic back up and asks if he, the bestselling author, father, and couch potato want to wrestle him live? Then he tells Foley to watch this, and he puts the book down, stomps it, elbowdrops it, kneedrops it, and then punts it out of the ring. He calls Foley a son of a bitch and asks him how he's going to get out of it. Foley says he hasn't shown himself to be much of a wrestler out here for a long time, and people have wondered if Foley loves wrestling as much as all his outside interests. Up until a couple of weeks ago, the answer was no, but once he realized how much he hated to admit it, he needed Flair to bring out the best in him. Flair says that's what he does, he brings out the best in everybody, then punches himself in the head until he bleeds. Foley says two can play this game, and punches himself in the face until he bleeds. Flair says Foley is out of shape and Foley tells him to take his best shot, but Flair says that next week, he's going to have his whole family there to see the end of Foley and EV2.0. Flair says that Tommy Dreamer, who he respects as a man, told Flair that he is hardcore. Foley asks Flair how long he's been in the business, and Flair says 39 years. Foley says it took him nearly 40 years to realize he's hardcore and that he's what the wrestling business is all about. Foley says that he's renewed and has been the Nature Boy that he hasn't been in many years. Flair says that next Thursday he's going to beat Foley within an inch of his life. Foley says he feels like he's been coasting since he's been back here at TNA, and he asks Flair that next Thursday night, he wants him in a Last Man Standing match. Flair says that like his infamous saying goes, two men walk down that aisle and one walks out, and Foley's got it. Flair tells Foley that if he wins, he'll kiss Foley's ass and starts going WOO at him and convulsing before bailing out of the ring. Foley finishes by saying that one week from tonight, he'll see Flair in the ring, BANG BANG!
Backstage, Ken Anderson says he's been going through the call log on his cell phone and doesn't see any calls from Hulk Hogan, and asks Eric Bischoff if Hogan knows there's anyone else in that match. Bischoff says that Hogan and Angle have a lot in common because they've both carried companies on their backs for years, and not to take it personally. But Bischoff knows what Anderson's all about, and that's why he's booked Anderson against Samoa Joe tonight. Anderson says that Bischoff ought to bet on him beating Samoa Joe tonight and then winning the $100,000 battle royal next week.
Up next, Generation Me battles Ink Inc, and also the Motor City Machine Guns are backstage, and they're...WALKING!
We go to Mike and Taz, and they run down the card for Bound For Glory, and then send us back to the ring for our next match...
Generation Me vs Ink Inc
GenMe have the tag title belt they stole from Chris Sabin last week. Jeremy kicks Shannon Moore in the gut and whips him to the corner, but Moore leapfrogs over him, gets a couple of armdrags, punches him in the face, and hits a legdrop to the crotch for 2. Jeremy tags out to Max, but Moore armdrags him too, and then tags out to Jesse Neal. They wipe Max out with a double shoulderblock and then Moore hiptosses Neal on top of Max for 2. Neal gets a dropkick for another 2, whips Max across the ring and charges, but Max gets the boot up and goes to the top for a moonsault move, but he comes down wrong on his leg and rolls out to the floor clutching his leg. Neal hesitates, so Jeremy runs in from behind and gives Neal a neckbreaker and then Max, miraculously healed, slides back in the ring and puts the boots to Neal. Jeremy tags in and Max pops him up into a dropkick on Neal and covers for 2. Max back in and he HITS THE CHINLOCK! Neal elbows out but Max dropkicks him right in the face and tags back out to Jeremy, who runs in and immediately cradles Neal for 2. Jeremy with another tag to Max, but Max accidentally clotheslines Jeremy and Neal makes the hot tag to Moore, who comes off the top rope with a flying bodypress and gets a series of dropkicks on Max. Moore with a leg lariat for 2, but Jeremy comes in and they try to double team Moore, but Moore gets a double Frankensteiner on both of them and pitches Jeremy to the floor. Moore with a Lionsault on Max for 2, and then all four men wind up in the ring. Neal misses a charge and hits the ringpost as Max gets a low kick and rolls Moore up for the win.
Winners: Generation Me
GenMe grab the title belt and start to leave, but then decide to rush back into the ring and beat Ink Inc up some more. They go for the double DDT, but the Motor City Machine Guns run out and GenMe heads for the hills. Sabin grabs his belt and makes angry faces at GenMe.
Backstage, Samoa Joe says he's appreciative of getting the match with Anderson because he's a top contender, and when he beats him, it puts him in contention so he can become the World Champion. Oh, and one last thing, Anderson's right about one thing: he is an asshole.
Backstage, the MCMGs say that they've waited four years to get the TNA World Tag Team Title, and if GenMe thinks they're going to take the title, they're sadly mistaken. They're going to see them in the battle royal next week, and revenge will be sweet.
Time for our next match...
Ken Anderson vs Samoa Joe
Before the match starts, the Pope's music hits and he comes strolling out to join Mike and Taz on commentary. Oh, and it looks like Sting and Kevin Nash are with him. Oh yeah, and go visit Dixie Carter's Twitter. Joe takes Anderson to the corner and starts kicking the crap out of him. Anderson goes to a side headlock, but Joe rams him to the corner and knocks him silly with a leaping enziguiri. Joe sees Pope at the broadcast booth and shoots him a dirty look. Joe continues destroying Anderson, chopping and kicking him in the corner and choking him with his boot. Anderson fires back at Joe with rights and rams him to the corner, and now he starts stomping Joe down. Anderson goes off the ropes but Joe charges and bowls right over him. Joe with the facewash in the corner and then glances back over at Pope before covering for 2. Mike and Taz are trying to get some understanding of Pope's situation with Sting and Nash, but as usual we get nothing useful so I'll just tune them out. Anderson gets a boot to Joe's face on a backdrop attempt, and then a back elbow and a clothesline gets 2. Joe dodges a kick and Joe gets the Kokina Clutch, but Anderson gets a jawbreaker and the Mic Check and covers for 3.

Kevin Nash leaves the broadcast area and goes down to the ring with a bat to try and talk some sense to Joe. Nash tells Joe to leave Jeff Jarrett and join them, and they glare at each other...and we go to commercial.
Okay, we're back and during the break, Joe left the ring, so now Nash and company are in the ring and Nash has a mic. He says that bad things happen to bad people, and it's amazing that Hulk Hogan is in a hospital bed right now, isn't it? For seven months, Sting's been telling everyone what's been going on since Hogan and Bischoff came on board. Nash says that he guesses everyone's been duped by them, but the three guys in the ring know exactly what's going on. Pope says that Nash and Sting have been around the block a few things, and if there's anyone who knows anything about running with wolves, it's two guys who have run their own pack. It amazes Pope how Bischoff can keep trying to pull the wool over the eyes of Pope, but Pope is calling him out as a liar and a son of a Bischoff. This is a street war, and Hogan and Bischoff are coming out on the losing end. Sting says it's all about Hogan and himself, and it started back in WCW. IT's a classic case of good and evil, and Sting asks the crowd if they came to see the good guys (crowd boos) or the bad guys (cheers). Sting wants to know who's wearing the black and white hat, and there's only one sure way to answer the question: Nash and Sting against Joe and Jarrett, and Sting wants to add to that and make it a six man by adding Pope, and then he tells Hogan to lace them up one more time and join up with Joe and Jarrett. No more games: at Bound For Glory, let's show the world what's really going on.
Eric Bischoff's music hits and Miss Tessmacher comes out...oh, and she's got Bischoff with her. Eric says this is beyond disappointing, it's actually disgusting. With Bound For Glory right around the corner, these three are in the ring showing their true colors. Bischoff says he sees two guys, Nash and Sting, who are at the end of their career and their best days are behind them, but Pope is still green behind the ears and has a lot to earn. This goes back to WCW 15 years ago when Bischoff tried to convince them that it was time to start working with the younger talent, but they just sat their and pouted when they didn't get their way. Nash has always been self serving and all about him and that's no surprise, but Pope is the one in the trifecta that disappoints him the most because he was in the World Title picture, but he lost along the way and bitched about it, so Bischoff gave him another chance and he blew it, and now he's crying about it. Ask Angle, Hardy, and Anderson if there's a conspiracy and they'll tell you they're looking forward to Bound For Glory. They sit there like three cowards calling out Hulk Hogan, who's been in the hospital with a bad back, but Bischoff will tell them that Hulk Hogan will be here live, next week, and he'll answer for himself, and he hopes they like the answer.
Backstage, AJ Styles asks Brian Kendrick if he has a death wish by hanging out with EV2.0 and coming after him. AJ says he's willing to put the TV Title on the line, and he'll see him out there. He tells Flair that he dropped his wallet, so Flair bends over and picks up...another Smirnoff Ice. He says he needed a drink anyway, so he chugs ALMOST the whole thing, goes WOO a bunch of times like Curly, and walks off.
Madison Rayne and Tara are backstage with Miss Tessmacher, who is reading them the riot act and telling them that she has the power to fire both of them. Velvet Sky, Angelina Love, and Lacey Von Erich come in and a brawl almost breaks out, but Tessmacher tells them to stop or she'll fire them all. Tessmacher asks Madison if she brought the waiver to allow Tara back in the ring, and Madison says she'll do whatever she needs to do to get her back in the ring because she gave Tara a job when she was out and flat on her ass. Madison yells at Angelina and...you know what, screw it. I'm not recapping this entire mess. The bottom line is that there's going to be a four way match at Bound For Glory for the Knockouts Title that I assume will include all of them but Lacey. Other than that, total Jerry Springer segment. Miss Tessmacher kicks them all out, then her cell phone rings. Someone wants to see her in 20 minutes for the usual. I'll refrain from the obvious joke.

TV Title Match: AJ Styles vs Brian Kendrick
Hey, cool! The TV Title is going to be defended on TV for the first time in like two months! They must be modeling it after the ROH TV Title. Ric Flair comes to the broadcast booth before the match and says that TNA doesn't know what they got themselves into, but he's going to take Foley out next week because he's a wrestling god. Back in the ring, Kendrick takes AJ to the corner and breaks clean, so AJ kicks him in the gut and gets a headlock. Kendrick tries to roll through but AJ hangs onto the head, so Kendrick whips AJ to the ropes and goes for a dropkick, but AJ moves and Kendrick misses completely. AJ rams Kendrick to the corner and chops him, then whips Kendrick to the opposite corner and tries a charge, but Kendrick dodges and gets a dropkick and a flying forearm, then an O'Connor roll for 2. AJ with a back suplex and then chokes Kendrick on the ropes, and then distracts the ref so Matt Morgan can choke him too. AJ drags Kendrick back to the middle of the ring and covers for 2, then stomps a mudhole in Kendrick. Kendrick catches the boot and nails AJ with a clothesline and a series of dropkicks, but AJ wipes him out with a back elbow and tries a whip, but Kendrick counters with a nasty dropkick to the mouth and a tornado DDT. Kendrick goes to the top, but suddenly turns and dives onto Morgan instead. AJ tries a dive to the floor but Kendrick saw him coming and nailed him with a kick to the face, then goes up top for something, but Flair grabs the ankle and crotches him on the top rope, and AJ casually ppulls him off and hits the Styles Clash for the win.

Backstage, Abyss says Kurt Angle's not making it to Bound For Glory, and tonight, he's going to take him out because THEY told him to. He'll see Rob Van Dam at Bound For Glory, and challenges him to make it Monster's Ball Rules.
Rob Van Dam it back in California and says it probably wasn't the smartest thing to return like he did last night, but it's always been about him putting his body on the line. He's just hoping the doctors will clear him in time for Bound For Glory, and he's not going to do anything to jeopardize his health before then.

Cage Match: Abyss vs Kurt Angle
Angle goes right after Abyss, taking him to the corner and pounding on his skull. Abyss collapses in the corner, so Angle puts the boots to him and then picks him up and rams him into the cage. Angle continues unloading on Abyss, but tries a charge and Abyss runs right over him. Now Abyss starts whaling away on Angle in the corner and then chokes him. Abyss whips Angle to the corner and tries a charge, but Angle gets the boot up and comes off the second rope with a shoulderblock and covers for 2. Angle rams Abyss to the cage again and chokes him with the boot again. Angle picks up Abyss and...that's right, ramns him to the cage again! Now Angle goes to the corner and grabs Janice, then decides against it and tosses it over the top of the cage to ringside. Oh, time for a commercial!
Okay, we're back and Angle is still beating Abyss up, but Abyss catches him with a big boot to the face and then uses Angle's best move, the ram into the cage, against him, and then does it again! That's cold. Angle's busted open, so Abyss repeatedly rams his fist into Angle's skull and rams him into the cage a third time. We get an AWESOME shot of Angle laying on the mat with blood literally flowing out of his head and pooling on the mat. Abyss picks Angle up over his shoulder for a powerslam, but Angle slips out the back and clips Abyss' knee out from under him. Now Angle gets on top of Abyss and starts raining punches down on him, then goes up to the top rope and comes off with a frogsplash for 2. Angle's face is just COVERED with blood as he charges Abyss again, but gets goozled. Abyss goes for a chokeslam but Angle rolls through and gets the ankle lock. Abyss kicks Angle off and chokeslams him for 2. Abyss charges Angle in the corner but Angle moves and tries for the Angle Slam, but Abyss slips out the back and gets Shock Treatment for a close 2. Abyss goes to the second rope but takes his time, so when he goes for his splash Angle moves, then pulls down the straps and goes for the Angle Slam, but only gets 2. Angle tells the ref to open the door, but then tells him to stop and instead decides to drag Abyss out to the middle of the ring and climb his way up in the corner. Angle goes all the way to the top of the cage, but Abyss has recovered and made it to his feet and...we're out of time!
But luckily, Reaction starts right after Impact, so we start the show with the continuation of the match. Abyss chokeslams the ref, but Angle saw him, so he dives off the top of the cage and Abyss catches him coming down and hits the Black Hole Slam! That was awesome. Abyss rams Angle to the corner and goes for another chokeslam, and gets it. Oh, but no ref. Abyss goes over to check on the referee, but he's not very responsive, so instead he goes over and grabs Angle by the throat, but before he can do any more damage, Ken Anderson runs out. He climbs the cage and drops down into the ring and goes after Abyss, who was waiting patiently for him. Anderson beats the tar out of Abyss, but Abyss gets a knee to the gut and rams him into the cage twice before hitting another Black Hole Slam on Anderson. Crowd starts chanting for Hardy, but he doesn't show. Instead, Abyss rips the cage door off the hinges and goes out to get Janice. He brings her back in the ring but Angle attacks him as he comes back in and Abyss backs off. Angle picks up Janice and...we cut to the Reaction opening. Is that the end of the match? Guess so. Let's call it...
No Contest
Lame ending to an otherwise awesome match.

Booker does not start off this week’s show at the announce table, but he makes his way to the ring to do an interview. Booker welcomes everyone to Smackdown and then he brings out his guest, the World’s Strongest Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry.
Mark makes his way to the ring and Booker asks Mark about when he defeated Randy Orton to become the World Heavyweight Champion. Booker says that he congratulated Mark on his victory and as a former World Champion, he knows how hard it is to climb the mountain to become champion and he says that Mark earned it.
Mark asks Booker if he is supposed to think that Booker is six times better than him because he won six times. Mark cuts off Booker’s apparent apology and he wants to know how Booker can come out here to kiss his ass and then insult him in the same sentence.
Booker says that he was not insulting Mark and if he was insulting Mark, he would know it.
Mark tells Booker that if he was to pick up Booker and put him through a table, Booker would know it.
Mark says that he is out here for Randy Orton and not Booker. He tells Randy that Night of Champions was about the World Heavyweight Championship. Mark hears the cheers for Randy since they are in his home town. Mark says that on Sunday, he will induct Randy into his Hall of Pain. On his wall are the heads of the Big Show, Kane, and Jerry Lawler. Mark says that he has a special place for Randy’s head . . . right above his mantle. He tells the fans to put fuel on the fire by cheering for Randy. Beating Randy on Sunday will not be enough, Mark vows to end Randy’s career.
Booker asks Mark why won’t he try to be the best possible champion because of his influence over the WWE Universe.
Mark says that he knows who he is and what he has done. For fifteen years, he did the positive thing. He shook hands, took pictures with fans, and kissed the babies. Where did it get him? It got him nowhere. It is about dominating. Mark vows to be the most dominant champion in WWE history.
Booker asks Mark what will happen if Randy hits an RKO, but Mark cuts off Booker and he says that it won’t happen. He says that if Randy could have done it, he would have done it already. Mark says that if Randy had done it, he wouldn’t have the title now. He says that he knows that Orton can’t beat him. Even Booker and the nothing fans in the arena know it.
Mark says that Orton won’t beat him at Hell in a Cell. The Great Khali will not beat him tonight. He says that he will beat him down tonight just like he did on Monday. He wants the seven foot giant to come out so they can take out the trash.
We see the footage from the non-match that took place on Monday between Mark Henry and Great Khali.
Match Number One: Mark Henry versus Great Khali
Khali with punches to Henry but Henry pushes him off. Khali with more shots to the head and then he sends Henry into the corner. Khali with kicks but Henry with some punches. Khali with a clothesline and Henry goes down. Khali kicks Henry in the knee and then he connects with forearms and punches. Khali with a chop across the chest. Khali with another punch to the head. Henry punches Khali but Khali with a chop to the head but Henry bounces off the ropes and Khali with another chop and Khali gets a near fall.
Khali picks up Henry but Henry picks up Khali and runs him into the corner and Henry with head butts to Khali. Henry pulls Khali into the center of the ring and Henry with a splash and then he hits another one for a near fall. Khali grabs Henry by the throat but Henry stops him and then he picks up Khali and hits the World’s Strongest Slam for the three count.
Winner: Mark Henry
After the match, Henry gets a steel chair and he brings it into the ring. Henry hits Khali with the chair and then he pulls Khali into the corner. Henry puts the chair on Khali’s ankle. Henry goes to the turnbuckle and he hits a Vader Splash onto the chair and leg. Henry leaves the ring while the medical staff and referees check on Khali.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Great Khali is being carted through the back with Teddy Long at his side. Jinder Mahal stops Khali and has something to say to him. Teddy tells Jinder to get out.
We see footage from Monday night when Mason Ryan showed no respect to his tag team partners in the six man tag match.
Match Number Two: Evan Bourne with Kofi Kingston versus Jack Swagger with Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero
Bourne with a waist lock but Swagger with an elbow and punches. Swagger chokes Bourne in the ropes followed by a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Swagger with a forearm to the back and then he locks Bourne’s arms. Bourne with kicks to Swagger. Swagger blocks a tilt-a-whirl head scissors and he hits a side slam.
Swagger tries for the Swagger bomb but Bourne gets his boots up and then he hits a running knee to Swagger followed by a back heel kick. Bourne with a double knee take down and he gets a near fall. Vickie argues with the referee and Ziggler drops Bourne’s throat on the top rope when Swagger moves out of the way on a kick by Bourne. Swagger tries for the Doctor Bomb but Bourne with a leaping knee to Swagger while Kofi takes care of Ziggler on the floor.
Bourne goes up top but Vickie hits Bourne and Bourne lands on the top rope awkwardly and Swagger with the ankle lock and Bourne taps.
Winner: Jack Swagger
Josh mentions the Sin Cara situation and we see footage of the Sin Caras beating Daniel Bryan last week.
We go to commercial with the announcement that Sin Cara will face Sin Cara at Hell in a Cell.
Match Number Three: Sin Cara (El Original) versus Heath Slater
Slater with a kick and forearm to the head. Sin Cara with a springboard splash followed by a handspring back elbow. Cara gets sent to the apron but Cara with an enzuigiri. Cara goes up top for the Fallen Star for the three count.
Winner: Sin Cara
We see the other Sin Cara on the TitanTron and he shows a black mask. He says that Sin Cara stole his identity once before as Mistico and now it is only right that he does the same thing to him. On Sunday we will find out which one of them should be known as Sin Cara.
We see footage from Monday’s battle royal when Christian helped Cody Rhodes retain the Intercontinental Title.

We are back and Josh asks Michael Cole about Triple H. Cole mentions that the company is in chaos and then he points out that Hunter isn’t even here tonight.
We go to a ‘Triple H is in control of WWE . . . or is he’ video package.
We go to an office in the back where John Laurinaitis is talking to the Disgruntled Five with their ‘not a practicing’ attorney David Otunga. John says that he understands their frustrations and he says that he hasn’t been able to talk to Hunter since Tuesday. He says that he is a company man.
Otunga says that he has put something together to assuage their concerns. Christian says that he feels comfortable with Otunga since he has some experience with lawyers. They are all in agreement that they will do this on Monday. David says that John is a company man so they will get it done.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Beth Phoenix has joined the announce team.
Match Number Four: Kelly Kelly versus Natalya in a Non Title Match
Natalya has something to say to Kelly but Kelly slaps Natalya and connects with forearms and a kick. Natalya runs Kelly into the corner but she runs into a boot and Kelly hits the Thesz Press and then follows that with a waist lock. Natalya takes Kelly into the ropes and catches Kelly in the throat. Natalya with a clothesline and then she works on the arm with a hammer lock using her leg for extra leverage.
Kelly with forearms but Natalya with a forearm of her own. Natalya slaps Kelly but Kelly with kicks and then she gets the three count with a victory roll.
Winner: Kelly Kelly
After the match, Beth attacks Kelly and then hits the Glam Slam on Kelly. Natalya stretches Kelly while she has her legs tied up. Beth says that we will hear Kelly scream on Sunday when she takes the title from the undeserving Barbie doll.
Sheamus is walking in the back fella and we go to commercial.
We are back and Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring and he is joined by his bag men.
We see the footage from Monday one more time when Cody eliminated Sheamus to retain his Intercontinental Title in a battle royal.
Cody says that he is going on the record and he officially states that he is being discriminated against by the WWE. Last Friday night, Randy Orton and the music of the night was ‘ding ding ding ding’. He took the ring bell and smashed it into the side of his skull. Rhodes shows the nine staples in his head. He points out that no action was taken against Randy Orton. He says that instead of punishing Orton, they made him wrestle in a ten men battle royal on Monday night. Now he has to face one of the men he defeated on Monday night, Sheamus. He says that he is being treated like an impudent seven year old to defend his title. Sheamus is an Irish beer guzzling, bar brawling, 272 pound, hard headed braggart. Cody says that he is defending his title under protest.
Sheamus comes out and he asks Cody if he remembers when an Irish beer guzzling, bar brawling, 272 pound, hard headed braggart came to St. Louis and beat Cody unmercifully for his Intercontinental title. He says that isn’t Irish folklore.
Match Number Five: Sheamus versus Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Title Under Protest
They lock up and Cody tries to work on the arm but Sheamus pushes Cody to the mat. They lock up again and Cody hides in the ropes and then he kicks and punches Sheamus. Sheamus sends Cody into the corner and he connects with a series of forearms and knees. Sheamus with a short arm clothesline for a near fall. Sheamus puts Cody into the ropes for the forearms but Cody gets to the floor.
Cody with a shoulder from the apron but Sheamus with a back body drop and he gets a near fall. Sheamus puts Rhodes in the ropes and connects with the forearms across the chest. Sheamus goes to the apron and sets for the knee lift but Cody goes to the mat. Cody with a head butt and then he drops Sheamus’ arm onto the top rope. Sheamus gets sent shoulder first into the turnbuckles and then Rhodes hits Beautiful Disaster and gets a near fall.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Cody with a hammer lock while Sheamus tries to get back to his feet. Sheamus with punches to Cody but Cody with a kick and a drop kick for a near fall. Cody sends Sheamus into the ropes and he wraps Sheamus’ arm in the ropes. The referee warns Cody but Cody does not really listen to him.
Sheamus kicks Cody away but Cody with a Divorce Court to Sheamus for a near fall. Cody wraps Sheamus’ arm in the rope again and wrings the arm around the ring post. Sheamus with punches to the midsection while Cody responds with forearms and Cody gets a near fall.
Cody returns to the hammer lock but Sheamus with punches and an elbow to the head. Cody returns to the hammer lock but Sheamus gets to his feet again. Sheamus sends Cody into the ring post shoulder first. Sheamus with running double sledges followed by a power slam and a running knee lift. Sheamus goes up top for the flying shoulder tackle for a near fall. Sheamus misses the Brogue kick and Cody tries for Beautiful Disaster but Sheamus gives Cody the Irish Hammer as he comes off the ropes but Sheamus can only get a near fall.
Sheamus signals for the Celtic Cross but Christian comes to the ring and he punches Sheamus and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: Sheamus by disqualification
Christian gives Sheamus the Killswitch and then he stands over Sheamus.

Match Number Six: Zack Ryder versus JTG in the Battle for New York Supremacy
They lock up and JTG with a forearm to the back followed by a punch. JTG with a wrist clutch swinging neck breaker for a near fall. Ryder with a head butt to the midsection but he misses a clothesline. JTG with a belly-to-back set up into a neck breaker for a near fall. JTG chokes Ryder in the ropes.
JTG with a rear chin lock but Ryder with a punch. JTG with a forearm to the back followed by an Irish whip. JTG charges into Ryder’s knees. Ryder with a clothesline followed by an elbow and then he sends JTG into the turnbuckles. Ryder with a forearm and then he hits the running boot in the corner for a near fall.
Ryder with a forearm but JTG with a sliding uppercut. Ryder with a Rough Ryder for the three count.
Winner: Zack Ryder
John Laurinaitis is texting in the back and Triple H arrives. John is shocked that Hunter is here but Hunter apologizes for keeping John out of the loop, just like John is keeping Hunter out of the loop by holding secret meetings with disgruntled superstars. Matt Striker is in the interview area with Randy Orton. Randy says that Mark says that he is proclaiming that he is going to end his career on Sunday. Randy wants to know if Mark knows who he is and then he points out that he has committed some of the most sick and sadistic atrocities in WWE history. He is not intimidated by anyone, not even Mark Henry. He asks Matt if Mark saw what he did to Cody last week. He forced Cody to get nine staples in his head and Randy says that he has not one ounce of regret over that. Randy mentions that he has been in three Hell in a Cell matches while Mark has never been in one before. Mark better hope that Randy hits him with an RKO and ends it early because Mark does not know how many ways he can hurt Mark in the cell. Something will end on Sunday. It will be the end of Mark Henry’s reign as champion that will end.
Match Number Seven: Christian versus Randy Orton
Orton with a waist lock take down and side head lock. Orton with a shoulder tackle and Christian retreats into the ropes. Christian with a kick and punch to Orton after teasing a Greco Roman knuckle lock. Orton with a shoulder tackle but Christian with an Irish whip and Orton with a clothesline out of the corner. Orton with a boot to Christian but Christian sends Orton into the ropes and Christian slingshots to the floor for an uppercut. Christian with a missile drop kick from the second turnbuckle for a near fall.
Christian punches Orton but Orton with a kick. Christian with a spinebuster to counter the Thesz Press and Christian gets a near fall. We go to commercial.
We are back and Christian works on the head and neck. Christian with a kick followed by a neck breaker and he gets a near fall. Christian puts Orton in the ropes and Christian stands on Orton’s back. Christian hits an inverted DDT for a near fall. Christian yells at Orton in the corner before the referee warns Christian.
Orton with a European uppercut and a Thesz Press followed by punches. Christian with a punch of his own. Christian with an elbow drop and he gets a near fall. Christian returns to working on the neck. Orton with a hard Irish whip to the sternum and both men are down.
Christian and Orton exchange punches and then Orton adds a European uppercut. Orton with a drop kick and clotheslines. Orton with a back body drop after Christian avoids the power slam. Orton with punches in the corner followed by an Irish whip. Christian avoids a charge by Orton and hits a pendulum kick. Orton with a back breaker into a driver for a near fall.
Orton tries for the IEDDT but Christian escapes it. Christian tries for the sunset flip off the turnbuckles but Orton was waiting for Christian to come off for an RKO but Christian holds on to the ropes. Orton with a rollup for a near fall. Christian with a punch but Orton with a power slam for a near fall.
Christian kicks Orton and then he goes to the turnbuckles. Christian tries for a cross body but Orton moves. Orton tries for the RKO but Christian blocks it and hits a belly-to-back suplex. Christian waits for Orton to get up for the spear. Christian hits the spear and Orton kicks out at two. Christian tries to figure out what he needs to do to win the match and he waits for Orton to get up for the Killswitch. Christian tries for it but Orton with elbows and kicks. Orton sends Christian to the apron for the IEDDT and he hits it. Orton twist to the mat for the push ups and Christian goes to the floor when he sees Orton set for the RKO.
Orton follows Christian up the ramp and Orton with punches and kicks as they fight on the floor. Orton with an Irish whip and Christian flips over the ring steps. The referee gets to ten and he calls for the bell.
Double Count Out
After the match, Orton sends Christian into the announce table and then Orton rearranges the table. Orton pulls Christian onto the announce table and he sets for an RKO but Cody Rhodes makes his way to ringside. Orton hits Cody as he comes off the announce table but Christian attacks Orton from behind and they send Orton into the announce table. Cody hits Beautiful Disaster off the apron and Christian rolls Orton into the ring.
Cody and Christian attack Orton and Sheamus comes to the ring to help Orton and Sheamus with a Brogue Kick to Cody. Christian runs through the crowd and Sheamus follows after him.
Mark Henry’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring. Orton gets the first shots in on Henry but Henry stops Orton from hitting an RKO and then Henry with the World’s Strongest Slam.
Henry thinks about leaving the ring, but he has second thoughts and he goes for the steel chair. Henry enters the ring with the chair but he takes too long and Orton hits the RKO as Henry gets back into the ring.

2011 - The Pilot in North Carolina ran a story detailing Matt Hardy's legal situation, stating that Hardy was only released from jail after his September 14 arrest with a "promise to appear" because magistrate Charlie Smoak also ordered that Hardy would only be released if he underwent treatment for substance abuse. Of course, Hardy did a video after the arrest stating he was going into WWE sponsored rehab. As it turns out, he had no choice. If he hadn't agreed to do so, he would have been place in a detention center under a $1 million bond.

WWE and Susan G. Komen are expanding their joint “Rise Above Cancer” campaign to include all WWE Superstars and Divas wearing pink ring gear starting tonight on Monday Night Raw. The campaign will continue throughout National Breast Cancer Awareness month with WWE Superstars and Divas wearing customized “Rise Above Cancer” t-shirts to help raise awareness and funds for Komen. Punk says that there are a lot of people who say that this show thrives on unpredictability and he is as unpredictable as they come. He does not know what he will say or do at times. Sometimes predictability works. He was in his home town and he was beaten up. It was predictable that Paul Heyman would tell the people in Chicago about what he did to Punk.
It was also predictable that Punk would go after Paul for what he said. Punk says that it was predictable that he would get jumped by Ryback and Curtis Axel. That is okay. He is okay with predictability because this story will end when he gets his hands on Curtis Axel and he puts him to sleep. It gets wrapped up when he gets his hands on Ryback and he shows him what happens to bullies. This story ends when he gets his hands on Paul Heyman and he realizes that there is no one to come and save him.
Punk tells the people to make sure that the world knows if they think Ryback sucks. The story with Paul Heyman could end on Sunday when he gets his hands on Ryback. It could end next week on Raw. It could end right here and right now, on the USA Network.
Punk says that he has been in a fighting mood for months. He does not care who he has to fight. Eventually he will get his hands on Paul Heyman. The record books might say that Paul Heyman pinned him in the ring, but everyone will know that he will put Heyman out of his miseries.
Brad Maddox comes out and he tells Punk to take it easy.
Punk wants to know why Brad doesn’t get music.
Brad says that he knows what it feels to fight like a man. He knows that Punk was embarrassed last week and Punk wants to make sure that the people forget about that. Punk will not get hands on Paul or Ryback right now because that is not what is best for business. Punk will be getting his shot at revenge at Battleground.
Brad reminds Punk that he is the general manager of Raw so he has the power to give Punk a match . . . if he would like one.

Randy says that he wants to know because he wants Brie to schedule the wedding sooner rather than later. If it is after Sunday, her fiancé might not be able to make it down the aisle because he won’t be able to walk.
Renee Young is in the interview area with Paul Heyman. Renee asks Paul about CM Punk’s comments and his obsession with getting Paul.
Paul says that everyone must be afraid to see a man fall into obsession. After Sunday, Punk will no long bully anyone. Punk went from a nobody to a Paul Heyman guy to a WWE Champion to a guy who forgot why THEY were the Best in the World.
Renee asks Paul if he has another trap for Punk.
Paul says that his mere existence is a trap for CM Punk. Every breath he takes is with gleeful spite of CM Punk. Paul says that he has huge night planned for Raw and he tells Punk to get the manhood to make a move tonight and TRY.

Match Number Three: Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal versus Los Matadores (Diego and Fernando) with El Torito
Diego and Jinder start things of and Jinder with a waist lock. Diego with an elbow and rana. Diego with an Irish whip and he tags in Fernando but he gives Jinder a monkey flip. Slater tags in and Fernando with a leg sweep and a head scissors take down. Diego tag in and they hit a double back body drop. Slater runs Diego into the corner and Mahal tags in and they punch him.
Mahal with a high knee to the head. Mahal with a suplex for a near fall. Mahal with knee drops to the chest. Slater tags in and Mahal slams Diego and Slater with a knee drop for a near fall. Slater with a knee and slam but Diego with a spinning head scissors take down. Fernando tags in and hits a flying forearm. Fernando takes care of Mahal and then hits a double sledge to Slater.
They set up for a double fireman’s carry drop for the three count.

We are back and Stephanie McMahon and her husband, Triple H, make their way to the ring.
Triple H wants the Rhodes family to make their way to the ring. He says that he guarantees their safety just like any WWE Superstar.
Dusty, Cody, and Goldust make their way to the ring.
Stephanie welcomes them to Raw and she congratulates Cody on his wedding and she wants to make sure that Dusty gave Cody their present.
Hunter wants to know why they are so angry. How many opportunities is this? It started with Cody getting the chance to get his job back by beating Randy Orton and he failed. Then they gave Dustin the opportunity to beat Randy Orton and he did what he always does, and he failed.
They offered Dusty the chance to give Cody his job back, but Dusty made it about Dusty. Is Dusty still bitter about not being able to make it outside of Florida and the NWA? He couldn’t even succeed with the polka dots.
Then Dusty tells Stephanie to go to hell, and Dusty got knocked out for it.
Stephanie points out that Dusty trains superstars in Orlando at the performance center. He holds their futures in the palm of his hand. Meanwhile they hold the futures of Cody and Dustin in their hands. She wants to give Cody his job back and to give Dustin the opportunity to have a job. They will have to beat the Tag Team Champions at Battleground.
Hunter says that if they win, they will get their jobs back . . . but if they lose, Cody and Dustin will never work in the WWE again. In addition, Dusty Rhodes will join them on the unemployment line.
Dusty takes the mic and he tells Hunter that he is big on getting in people’s faces. Dusty gets in Hunter’s face and he puts his hand in front of Stephanie’s face. Dusty says that he will in his children’s corner and he will be Hunter’s huckleberry all night long.
Stephanie says that it looks like the Dream is looking for a fight and he might just get it.
Roman Reigns gives Dustin a spear and then The Shield attack Cody. Dusty gets a chair and he brings it into the ring but The Shield attack Dusty. They continue their attack on Cody and they set up Cody for the Cerberus Bomb and connect.

Match Number Four: R Truth versus Curtis Axel (with Paul Heyman) in a Non Title Match
They lock up and Axel with an arm drag and he wants to know what is up with that. Truth dances around and he does a leap into a split. Axel wants to know what that is and he tells Truth there is no dancing. Truth with a punch. They lock up and Axel pushes Truth but Truth with kicks to the back of the leg and Axel flips like his father.
Truth punches Axel and then climbs the turnbuckles and he punches Axel but Axel with a hot shot to Truth. Axel with a kick to the midsection followed by punches. Truth with kicks and forearms but Axel with a drop kick. Axel with a knee to ht back and a reverse chin lock. Truth with punches followed by an elbow to the back of the neck.
Axel with an Irish whip but Truth with a boot to Axel. Truth with an elbow followed by clotheslines and a kick. Truth with a suplex into a stunner for a near fall. Truth tries for a drop kick but Axel holds on to the ropes.
CM Punk’s music plays and Heyman and Axel don’t know what to do.
Axel waits for Punk to come to the ring but it is a ruse and Truth hits the Lie Detector for the three count.

They lock up and Alicia works on the wrist. Brie flips using the ropes to reverse and she takes Alicia down with a fireman’s carry. Alicia with a clean break and she offers her hand but it was a trap and she kicks Brie in the midsection and she goes to the floor.
Alicia sends Brie back into the ring and she chokes Brie in the ropes.
We see AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka watching in the back. Alicia with a Northern Lights suplex for a near fall. Alicia slams Brie’s face into the mat and she gets a near fall. Alicia with a head scissors. Alicia sends Brie into the mat and gets a near fall.
Alicia with a reverse chin lock. Brie with elbows and then she hits a flying clothesline followed by a drop kick or two. Alicia with a running knee to the head and Alicia goes to the floor. Alicia with a kick from the floor and Alicia with a clothesline to the back of the head. Alicia tries for a belly-to-back suplex but Brie lands on her feet and she slap Alicia and hits an X Factor for the three count.

Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman are in the locker room and Paul is trying to get to Curtis. He says that Curtis is looking at this the wrong way. Punk thinks that he is clever but he is out of his league with them.
Ryback stops by and he tells everyone that nobody has to be threatened by the presence of CM Punk. After last week, if Punk wants them, why not give them. Paul tells Ryback to get something to eat and he will find him in a few minutes.
Paul suggests that Ryback is beautiful and Curtis wants to know what Paul is thinking. Paul says that the food tastes better and the flowers smell sweeter since Ryback saved his life. Paul is going to go to the ring and he is going to propose to Ryback.
Before we get to the Big Show interview, some people think that Stephanie McMahon is using Show to deal with her issues.
We go to the WWE Rewind with footage of Stephanie telling Big Show to knock out Miz.
Renee Young is in the back with the Big Show and he is in a suit. Show says that he is doing as good as he can right now. Renee asks Show about what happened on Friday night when it appeared that he was going to explode.
Show says that his financial situation has been held over his head like Damacles’ sword. He has been told to be a man and do the right thing. It is easy when it isn’t your neck on the line. The people who judge his decisions do not understand. He is choosing between the lesser of two evils. Show says that he would not choose evil because he is a good man. He is doing what is right by his family.
Show says that he has been forced to do everything that he has done. He knocked out a WWE Hall of Famer who he has idolized ever since he entered the business. Show says that he cannot help Dusty and now he cannot look Dusty in the eye because of what has happened. Show says that there is only so much that he can take.
Every sick and weird thing he has been told to do, he has done without question. Show says that he can’t take it any more. He is not going to take it any more. Show says that he will find Triple H and he will show him exactly how he feels.
Renee wants to know what Show is saying.
Show says that he is going to knock Triple H out.

We are back and R Truth wants an Intercontinental Title match against Curtis Axel. Brad Maddox says that he will take it under advisement.
Big Show enters and he wants to know where Triple H is. Show tells Brad to go find him and bring him into the office.

They lock up and Ryder backs De Rio into the corner and Del Rio with a kick on the break. Del Rio with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Ryder with a hip toss and then he punches Del Rio in the back. Del Rio retreats into the ropes. Del Rio with an Irish whip but he misses a splash in the corner and Ryder with a flapjack.
Ryder clotheslines Del Rio over the top rope to the floor. Ryder tries for a pescado but Del Rio moves and Ryder hits the floor. Del Rio sends Ryder into the ringside barrier and he kicks Ryder. They return to the ring and Del Rio with a near fall. Del Rio with a rear chin lock. Ryder with punches and a sunset flip for a near fall.
Del Rio with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker followed by a kick and boot to the head. Ryder with punches but Del Rio with a knee. Ryder with a face buster and then Ryder waits for Del Rio to get up and Ryder with a knees followed by a missile drop kick. Ryder with the running forearm into the corner

We are back and it is time to talk about the business proposition given to the Rhodes for their jobs.
Ryback makes his way to the ring and Paul Heyman has the look of a lovesick puppy as he follows.
Paul introduces himself and he says that not only was he man enough to pin CM Punk to prove that he is the Best in the World, but he is also a world renowned expert in Political Science. You cannot put down insurgencies on their home soil. He had to go against his theory and try to squash Punk’s rebellion of 18,000 forces in Chicago. Paul says that he had to be put down by Punk in front of his friends and family. Paul presents Exhibit A.
Paul says that he gives Punk credit because he is a man of commitment. However, that commitment has been to break his face. The only reason this face is here tonight, smiling on worldwide television is because of the independent actions of one man who decided to stop the bullying of Paul Heyman.
That man is Ryback.
Ryback says the one thing he hates is a bully. Seeing Punk take all of that knowledge, friendship, and sacrifices and hurl it in Paul’s face. He cannot let it stand. He tells Paul that he is a genius and there is nothing that he wouldn’t do for Paul.
Paul says that 2013 is such a progressive year. It is time that in this progressive society that people live in denial of their true feeling and that they are honest about their true feelings. Paul says that he wants more than a superstar/advocate relationship. Ever since Ryback saved his life, he has had an extra spring in his step. He feels more like a man. He feels more virile and free. Paul says that is because of Ryback. He wants to feel that way for the rest of his life. In front of the entire world, he wants to make . . .
Paul yells at the crowd for interrupting such an intimate moment between him and his hero, Ryback.

Punk limps at ringside while Paul continues to wonder what is going on. Punk limps to the ring and he gets on the apron, but he falls to the floor. Punk has the doctor check on his knee and Paul thinks that he might really be injured, but he is not sure.
Paul goes to the ropes by CM Punk and Punk gets a kendo stick from under the ring and he hits Heyman and then he hits Ryback. Ryback blocks the Kendo Stick but Punk hits Axel and then he hits Ryback. Punk hits Axel in the head with the stick and then he hits Axel in the midsection.
Punk hits Axel in the shoulder and then he hits Go To Sleep while Heyman and Ryback watch.
Big Show is still waiting for Triple H.
We go to commercial.
Match Number Seven: Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins versus Dolph Ziggler, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso
Ziggler and Ambrose start things off and they lock up. Ambrose with punches to Ziggler instead of giving a clean break. Ambrose runs Ziggler’s eyes across the top rope. Ziggler with a leap frog and a drop kick for a near fall. Ambrose with a knee to the midsection and Ziggler with a cross body and punches.
Rollins tags in and Ziggler with a hip toss. Jimmy tags in and he punches Rollins and slams him. Jimmy with a diving head butt for a near fall. Jey tags in and he hits a flying forearm and gets a near fall. Rollins with a punch and he tags in Ambrose. Ambrose with punches and a head butt. Ambrose with a snap mare and he tags in Rollins who kicks Jey.
Rollins with forearms to the back and kicks to the chest. Ambrose tags back in and they miss a double clothesline. Jimmy tags in and he hits a double drop kick to Jey’s back. Jey with a super kick and Ziggler with a clothesline that sends Reigns over the top rope. The Usos send Rollins and Ambrose to the floor and then they hit stereo planchas onto Ambrose and Rollins as we go to commercial.
We are back and Rollins with a reverse chin lock on Jimmy. Rollins tries for a suplex and Jimmy blocks it. Jimmy with a suplex of his own and both men are down. Ambrose tags in and he slides in the way of Jimmy’s path to the corner. Ambrose with crossfaces to the upper chest.
Jimmy with elbows but Ambrose with a back elbow to stop him. Ambrose with a snap elbow drop and Reigns tags in. Reigns with a kick to the ribs. Reigns with a leaping elbow drop for a near fall. Reigns with a reverse chin lock. Jimmy with elbows and punches but Reigns with a belly-to-back into a uranage for a near fall. Jimmy with an uppercut and then he drops down and Reigns goes over the top rope to the floor.
Reigns returns to the ring and he cuts off Jimmy. Jimmy with a savate kick and both men are down. Rollins tags in and he takes care of Jey. Jimmy with a back body drop and Ziggler tags in and he connects with clotheslines on Ambrose followed by a Stinger Splash and punches. Ziggler with a neck breaker and then he sets for the elbow drop sequence. Rollins tries to interfere but Ziggler with a drop kick. Ambrose with a rollup for a near fall.
Ziggler with a Fameasser but Reigns breaks it up. Jey sends Reings to the floor but Ambrose with a knee. Rollins with an enzuigiri. Ziggler with a Zig Zag to Rollins but Reigns with a spear for the three count.
Winners: Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose
Big Show is still in Triple H’s office and now it is time for the jacket and tie to come off. Big Show rolls up his sleeves as we go to commercial.
We are back and Big Show smells the flowers and he throws them aside while he continues to wait for Triple H. Security enters the office and they tell Big Show to come with them for threatening people.
Stephanie says that Show is under a lot of pressure. He has seen the look on his face as he knocked out Daniel Bryan, The Miz, and Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes. All he is trying to do is put food on his table. Now Big Show has a huge mortgage payment. Stephanie will vouch for him.
Stephanie tells Show that he talked to Show’s wife. She said that Show has not been measuring up to her expectations at home.
Show sits down for a moment and then he rises up because he sees a triple H poster and he punches it and there is a hole in the wall.
Renee Young is in the interview area with Rob Van Dam. Renee asks Rob about the stipulation for the match. He says that he could talk about this match but he would rather show how he can excel in these type of matches. Let’s go to the video tape.
Rob says that Alberto Del Rio is vicious, but he does not know what hardcore rules mean. Anything goes so you do everything to survive. You throw the rulebook out. They will go hardcore for the title and the perfect translation for hardcore is easy even for ADR. It is Rob Van Dam.
We go to commercial with Santino Marella, Great Khali, and Hornswoggle walking in the back.
We are back and Zeb says that Mississippi is like a third world country and a little lower on the ladder than Alabama. Only Real Americans can say ‘We The People’ with them.
Match Number Eight: Santino Marella (with Hornswoggle and Great Khali) versus Antonio Cesaro (with Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger)
They lock up and Santino with a side head lock and Santino holds on when Cesaro tries to send Santino off the ropes. Santino with a shoulder tackle and he hurt his shoulder. Santino with a hip lock take down but Cesaro with a European uppercut.
Cesaro with an Irish whip and a running European uppercut in the corner followed by a slam and a double stomp to the midsection for a near fall. Cesaro blocks an O’Connor Roll and he tries for the Giant Swing but Santino kicks him away. Santino with a split followed by a hip toss and diving head butt. Santino goes for the cobra but he is distracted by Colter and that allows Cesaro to put Santino in the Giant Swing.
Santino gets up but he falls back to the mat. Santino throws the cobra away. Santino tries for a hip lock but he cannot do it and then he falls to the mat and gets the three count.
Winner: Santino Marella

We are back and Jerry Lawler is in the ring and he reminds everyone that Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella got engaged.
It is time to bring out the participants in the main event at Battleground. Out first is Daniel Bryan. He is followed by Randy Orton.
Jerry says that this is intended to be a verbal confrontation only so the physicality has to wait until Sunday.
Jerry mentions the controversy of stripping Daniel Bryan of the title.
Orton says that he was upset at the time when Triple H did not give him the title. However, it motivated and inspired him to reach the full potential as the Apex Predator. He was no longer the Viper who cared what the idiots thought. He was the Viper void of morality. The Viper who decimated the Miz in his hometown in front of his parents, while his mother begged him to stop.
Randy says that he will beat Daniel on Sunday because he is genetically superior to a weak, goat faced, B+ troll like Daniel Bryan.
Daniel says that Randy talks a great game. He says that Randy is a little monotone and he sounds like he practiced in front of the mirror. Why did Triple H feel the need to inspire and motivate Randy? Maybe it is because Randy is marketable and Hunter wants to put him on magazines or DVDs.
Maybe it is because Randy cannot reach his full potential without it. Daniel says that he might be some small, weak, pathetic, B+, goat face troll, but he never needed anyone’s motivation to reach his potential.
On Sunday, he will regain the WWE Championship when he beats RandyOrton.
Orton says that just because they chant ‘Yes’ that he can be champion? Daniel is on a roll. He is marrying a Bella. Randy wants to know what can be so incredibly wrong with Brie to settle for someone like Daniel.
One day, Brie is going to wake up and realize that she is not sleeping with a virile, handsome champion like him, but she is sleeping with a barnyard animal.
Bryan attacks Orton and he sends Orton over the top rope to the floor. Bryan attacks Orton but Orton sends Bryan into the ring steps and Orton punches Bryan. Orton sends Bryan into the ring post a few times.
Orton pulls Bryan into the ring post a few times. Orton drops Bryan on the ringside apron. Orton punches Bryan and then he hangs Daniel on the apron. Brie comes out and she watches Randy give Daniel the IEDDT.
Randy rearranges the announce table while Brie begs for Randy to stop. Randy sends Daniel into the announce table and then they get on top of the table. Orton looks around before he gives Bryan an RKO through the table.
