My name is Jason Funk and I will be doing an unboxing of Highspots.com's new subscription Box service. I received the first box today. To say I was a bit excited is an understatement. I subscribed to the Tier 2 box, which gets you a few more goodies than the Tier 1 box. The box weights about 4 pounds and it is a pretty good size as well.
Once I opened it, the first thing I see is an Edge “Rated R Superstar” backpack and two other items under it that are barely visible. After moving the backpack out of the way I get a better look at what was underneath the backpack, a yellow band of some sort and what appears to be a poster. The band turns out to be a Hulkamania Wristband. It turns out that I was correct in having a poster. It is for the Premiere Wrestling Xperience’s X16 Tournament held earlier this month in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
I go back to the backpack and open up the small front pouch and find two DVD’s in there along with a small blue thing. The DVD’s are a set for Premiere Wrestling Xperience’s X16 Tournament while the small blue thing is a WWF Superstars Stickers pouch from 1991, with the classic block WWF logo and Titan Sports, Inc stamped on it, which I think is completely awesome. I ended up with stickers for the Ultimate Warrior (2 out of a 4 piece set), The Barbarian, Paul Roma, Hacksaw Jim Duggan (1 out of a 4 piece set) and The Texas Tornado (1 out of a 2 piece set).
After looking over the stickers I move onto the back pouch of the backpack. Once I open up the pouch I am greeted by and bear looking thing. It ends up being a CM Punk Bear from 2006. It sports his yellow and black trunks with stars on it and it also has his tattoos on it as well. Pretty neat. I also find two more DVD’s here. One of them is titled “Best Friends with Chuck and Taylor” interviewing Brian Myers and the other one is titled “Hitting The Highspots with Rob Naylor” interviewing Drew Galloway. There also was a PWG t-shirt in the backpack as well. It is the Gorilla as Che Guevara one. And last but not least there was an 8x10 Glossy Photo of “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes as the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, which by the way is my favorite thing out of all of this.
In my own opinion, I feel this is a great get from Highspots for ant and all Pro-Wrestling Fan’s. A nice mix of old and new items. I hope that this has hopefully converted some of you guys who maybe were on the fence about this.
