Confidential Report for 8/24/2002.
Recorded at the WWE TV Studios in Stamford CT.
Your Host: Mean Gene Okerlund.

Gene welcomes us in with a bit of SummerSlam hype-later on we'll take a look at SummerSlam 2000, in particular the Tables, Ladders and Chairs match involving the teams of the Hardy Boyz, Dudley Boyz and Edge & Christian.
First up: our 'Cover Story', focusing on the man who'll be challenging The Rock tomorrow night for the Undisputed Championship, Brock Lesnar.

We see Brock paying a visit to his hometown of Webster, South Dakota. He grew up working on the family dairy farm. He got his start wrestling at the age of 5-photos show him to be shockingly thin as a youth. Video airs of Brock wrestling during his high school days. His coach then, John Schiley, describes Brock as a strength oriented wrestler-however in those days his physique didn't allow him to compete in that style completely successfully. Brock began building up during his school days-his resistance to 'cutting weight' (an occasionally dangerous practice utilized by amateur wrestlers to enable them to compete in narrow weight classes) led him to compete in the 'big guy' category. Brock admits he had an 'attitude' back then, and though he won as often as he lost in the early days all of his matches were hard-fought, physical encounters. His early failure to become a state champion led him to step up his training. Brock next entered a junior college in Bismarck ND, and started developing the physique we're now familiar with. After some success there he entered the University of Minnesota, where he eventually won an NCAA Championship.

Brock finishes up by stating that he feels the same passion performing as a professional wrestler that he once felt competing as an amateur. Break.

WWE Rewind: From SummerSlam 1992, Davey Boy Smith (The British Bulldog) defeats Bret Hart for the Intercontinental Championship.

Gene again hypes SummerSlam, mentioning this particular PPV has been taking place yearly since 1988. We move on to SummerSlam 2000, and the first Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.

Highlights air and we hear comments from the 3 teams-all seem mildly shocked they made it through the match uninjured. The 6 men issue tons of praise for each others efforts, Bubba Ray stresses that the issue of winning or losing was completely secondary to the overall performance. We also hear from Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, who describe the match as a 'slobberknocker' that 'totally reeked of awesomeness' No argument here. Break.

(Commentary: For those interested, the match saw a Lita run-in on behalf of the Hardyz, and Edge and Christian retaining the Tag Titles.)

Next up, Gene presents us a segment focusing on Shawn Michaels, who'll be making his in-ring return to WWE tomorrow night. Gene mentions that Vince McMahon regards Shawn as the most flamboyant WWE star of all time.

We flash back to HBK's early days in the Fed, teaming with Marty Jannetty as 'The Rockers'. Back in the late '80's/early '90's the two wore pretty generic ring attire. This changed when a pair of costume designers, Julie Younblood-Drozdov and Terry Anderson, took it upon themselves to create attire for Shawn and Marty that more suited their personalities. The 2 girls were quickly hired to design all the Rockers attire.

When Shawn started his solo career, Julie became his primary costume designer. She and Terry continue to work with WWE, and have designed ring attire for The Undertaker, Edge, Kane Rocky, Doink (!), Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Trish Stratus and Stephanie McMahon. The ladies feel that their designs for each performer are highly influenced by the personality of the individual. Break.

Back, Gene refers to Brock Lesnar as a 'genetic freak'. Sadly Scott Steiner does NOT run in to break Gene's leg. Video rolls of Brock working out in preparation for tomorrow nights match. Highlight: Brock immersing himself in a tub partially filled with ice cubes. Break.

When we return we're treated to a shot of Rikishi's butt being ground into Paul Heyman's face. This leads into a discussion of what Gene describes as the most reviled, humiliating finishing move in the biz-the Stinkface.

As video rolls of Rikishi hitting the move on various unfortunates, the big man fills us in on the genesis of the move. During a match back in the day, the Bossman had hit the canvas. Rikishi states an old lady in the crowd bluntly demanded he 'stick his butt in (Bossman's) face'. Rikishi complied, and thus the Stinkface was born. Notable recipients have included Pete Rose, Trish Stratus and both Vince and Stephanie McMahon. William Regal, Booker T, Lita and Rico disgustedly describe receiving the move. In closing, Rikishi understandably states his satisfaction in being paid to stick his butt in people's faces.

Quick segment of Booker hanging with the Houston Astros follows. The 5-time WCW champ got to throw the opening pitch at a recent game, and later taught some young fans the art of performing the Spinaroonie. Break.

Back, another quick segment, this time featuring current WWE stars filling us in on some of their more unusual past jobs. Highlights: William Regal was once employed wringing out sponges for a one-armed window cleaner (joke-I think…), and the incredibly wonderful Dawn Marie at one time cleaned chicken coops.

Gene finishes up by inviting us to participate in the WWE 'Pledge to Participate' tour, which kicks off tomorrow morning in NYC. Governor George Pataki and various WWE stars will be in attendance. SummerSlam preview video ends the show.

I was real happy to see the bit on the TLC match-I've been thinking that an episode of Confidential that didn't feature a blow-away segment could be bolstered with a resurrection of the 'Classic Match' segment that was a highlight of the old 'Excess' show. Hope WWE goes with it. Besides that, OK show this week.

We had controversy at SummerSlam during the World Title Match. What will happen tonight when Booker T addresses the situation on tonight’s show?

We are live on tape from Bakersfield, California and your announcers is Michael ‘Great, I get to break in a new announcer because Kane went crazy on Sunday’ Cole.

Randy Orton makes his way to the ring and he will have something to say to the people of Bakersfield. We see what happened on Monday night when Randy Orton got the win because of Sheamus’ involvement from ringside.

Randy tells us who he is. He says that he has never been a glass half full person. He likes to take the glass, smash it into a million pieces and then beat up the person who came up with the term. Randy says that he thrives on confrontation.

Alberto Del Rio says that he should mind his own business and that Randy’s win on Monday was tainted. Orton says that is too bad. He says that he deserves to face Sheamus for the World Championship.

Judging on how the internet and social media blew up based on what happened, he is sure that there are a few people who have a problem with what he is saying. Randy invites those people to come out to the ring right now and confront him.

Orton waits for a moment and the first person to accept the Randy Orton verbal challenge is the World Champion Sheamus and he is ready to talk. . . fella.

Sheamus tells Randy that he is not out here to disagree with him. He says that Bertie has had his chances and he has blown them time after time. On Raw, we saw Orton beat Bertie fair and square. At SummerSlam, he beat Del Rio fair and square. Sheamus says that Orton should be in the front of the line to face him and he wants Orton in the front of the line to face him for the World Championship.

Smackdown General Manager Booker T makes his way to the ring.

Booker wants them to put the brakes on because they are talking about something monster and huge. Randy Orton versus Sheamus for the World Championship. Booker asks the fans of they want to see it. Booker says that he wants to see it too.

Booker says that Randy has all of the credentials but he needs to talk about Monday night.

Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez join the party and he wants to know what Orton is doing in there because the title is his. Alberto tells Booker that Sheamus is a cheater and Orton is a crazy animal. Are those the type of people you want for the World Title?

Booker starts to speak and Alberto cuts him off. Alberto says that he should have been the World Champion by now because everyone knows that Sheamus cheated. The referee robbed him at SummerSlam. Then the next night, he was put in a match against Randy Orton and the only reason why Orton won because Sheamus cheated again.

Booker starts to talk and Alberto cuts him off again and he says that Booker doesn’t know anything. He wants to know if Booker is aware that Sheamus is a cheater and a thief.

Alberto says that he never lost the match because he was in control and he was destroying Sheamus. Alberto reminds Booker of the protest he filed and he says that he is waiting for an answer.

Randy says that Alberto is embarrassing himself.

Alberto says that there is a conspiracy and Booker is a cheater and criminal just like Sheamus. Alberto says that Booker, Sheamus, Orton, and everyone is against him.

Booker tells Alberto to calm down. Booker tells Randy that he will always be in line for a title shot, but the person who was in line next is Alberto Del Rio. That was until Alberto came out and ran his mouth. Booker says that he changed his mind. Tonight we will have a rematch from Raw between Alberto and Randy. The winner of the match will be the number one contender for the World Title.

Booker wants to know if we can dig that.

Michael Cole mentions that Josh Mathews is still recovering from the heinous attack by Kane after losing to Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam.

Michael mentions the ‘Perfect Storm’ from SummerSlam and we will recap what happened later tonight.

Dolph says that when he cashes in the briefcase, it will be on his terms. If Sheamus is still the champion, he won’t see it coming.

Teddy Long interrupts the conversation and he sticks his nose in the conversation. He is going to suggest a match between Dolph and Sheamus tonight. If Dolph is as good as he says, he can cash in tonight.

Dolph likes the idea and leaves. Sheamus thanks Teddy and says that the first round is on him.

He says that every moment this last week, he feels like he is becoming less and less American. This morning, he woke up and he could not remember how apple pie tasted, so he ate an apple pie, but that is not the point. Santino says that he feels like he let everyone down when he lost the United States Title. Everyone is asking him if he thinks the cobra can be on the same page as him.

Santino pulls out his puppet and he wants to talk to it. Santino says that he remembers when he was a little baby cobra. He knows that Aksana is gorgeous and there are not too many cobras as gorgeous as Aksana. Santino blames the cobra for losing the title. Santino says that he cannot be angry at the cobra. It is not about how many times you fall down, it is how many times you get back up.

Santino quotes Robert Deniro and asks the cobra if he has nipples and whether he can milk him. Santino quotes some Rocky IV after he defeated Ivan Drago. Santino says that he can be the United States Champion again.

Antonio Cesaro comes out and he has new music. He is accompanied by Aksana. It is time to learn the way to say the word that best describes himself in five languages. The word is winner.

Antonio kisses Aksana and then Antonio says that he personifies being a winner.

Santino power walks up to the stage. Santino blocks a kick and he punches Antonio. Santino gets the cobra uncoiled but it has a mind of its own and goes after Aksana. Cesaro with a forearm and then he takes care of Santino.

2013 - Wrestling is Fun ran Palmer, PA.  Seth Abraham filed the following live report:

Here are the results for the 8-24-13 Wrestling is Fun show at the Charles Chrin Community Center of Palmer.  The show was titled Cruel Summer.  Crowd was about 230-250 people for this IPPV.

Match 1-
Juan Francisco De Coronado w/ manservant Herbert  Vs. Shenron-Insane heat for Coronado.  Francisco started early working the arm, Shenron came back with a leaping front enziguri but was favoring the arm.  Match had some miscommunication on a headscissor spot  but then Shenron nailed an innovative slingshot back into the ring into a neckbreaker for a nearfall.  They did a dragon ball z/hadoken spot in the corner as well.  Shenron then got caught doing a front flip into the ropes and on the bounceback got caught with Coronado's high arching german suplex with a bridge for a 2 count.  Shenron was able to do the same front flip  but this time into an ace crusher for a nearfall.  Coronado was able to get the advantage and then went to ascend the turnbuckles but Herbert distracted him by giving him water.  Coronado batted it into the crowd and and then someone threw it back into the ring.   Not a great situation on either account.  Coronado got distracted enough for Shenron to get the advantage and lock on an innovative octopus like submission on the ground for the tap out victory.Solid opener that got better as it went.

Match 2-3.0 vs. Los Ice Creams-
The Ice Creams were trying to get fans to do the chunky monkey or the bushwacker hand thing at the start.  3.0 argued that clapping was better.  A lot of comedy with that at first.    Referee Bryce Remsberg did the Antonio Cesaro Machine gun arm thing to a pop.  This match was way too short to be honest.  Jagged of 3.0 hit a leg lariat and then tagged in Shane Mathews who nailed an atomic drop.  Eventually all four men got into it and 3.0 was able to hit the their Booyah double team elbow move for a nearfall.  3.0 then followed up with the sweet taste of professionalism for the victory.  Way too short for two very good and entertaining tag teams.

Match 3-Frightmare vs. Jaka w/Sydney Bakabella-
Frightmare was introduced as luchadorable...tons of kids at these shows so its good marketing.  Anyway Jaka used savagery and headbutts to ground Frightmare early.  Frightmare was able to come back with a crucifix driver and was able to come back.  Frightmare nailed Jaka with a top rope closeline.  Frightmare went for the friggin sweet driver (pumphandle michinoku driver variant) but Jaka countered.  Finish came when Bakabella hit Frightmare with an envelope of money (gold bars?)and Jaka was able to pick up the with a chokebomb.

Match 4-Colony (Green Ant/Assailant) vs. Azerbaijan and The Proletariat Boar of Moldova with the Brown Mourning of Belarus.

Green Ant started off with Azerbaijan and did some counter wrestling.  Eventually Boar came in and Assailant was tagged in.  Assailant started getting worked over but eventually got Green Ant in who was took out everybody.  The Colony hit an Ants marching double face buster on Azerbaijan and then Green Ant hit a crazy suicide dive on the Boar to a big pop.  Azerbaijan used the distraction of what went on outside to roll up Assailant.  After the match Colonel Hammersickle (I think that's his name) came out and gave flags to Brown Mourning, Boar and Azerbaijan.  They kneeled down and swore fealty.  Looks like they will be managed by him going forward.

Match 5-Dasher Hatfield vs. Mr. Touchdown Mark Angelosetti-
Storyline is these two are step cousins and Dasher is tired of his cousin's cheating ways.  Dasher hugged two fans (a dad in awesome Zubaz pants and taped arms and a younger kid with a Dasher mask) and seemed excited to see them in the front row...they would play a role later  Angelosetti tried to leave the ring but Dasher forced him back in.  Angelosetti roughed up Dasher with his combine body splashes and nailed Dasher with an exposed knee drop.  Dasher fought back  with a baseball slide and some power moves.  Touchdown hit his flea flicker Finisher for a nearfall.  The ref took a bump on a reversal of Dasher's Suicide Squeeze by Touchdown .  Mr. Touchdown got frustrated ad brought the ring bell into the ring.  The kid in the Dasher mask and the larger man got on the apron and told Touchdown to think about family.  Touchdown dropped the bell but then got rolled up by Dasher for the win.  Touchdown dissed Dasher at the end but then embraced the 3 family members as the crowd chanted "family".  We then had an intermission.

Match 6-The Batiri (Kobald, Kodama and Obariyon) vs. The Baltic Sege (Lithuanian Snow Troll, Estonian Thunderfrog and Latvian Proud Oak).

Unfortunately there was a bit of drama at the start as the Batiri threw a small chair and it bounced and hit an older woman in the front row (she was ok though) then Kobald grabbed a Yoshi stuffed animal backpack and jumped on it not realizing there was a GPS or some electronic device in it which broke.  My understanding is Kobald handled the situation (he's a good guy) after the match and everyone involved was very good about it.  Just sometimes things get carried away. Anyway, the match was a pretty crazy brawl with a lot of dives to the outside and double teaming.  At one point the Baltic Seige was trying to do the safety dance but the Batiri put a stop to the dance party before it began. One awesome spot was the entire batiri trying to lift thunderfrogs hammer and failing.  Frog came in and german suplexed all three of them at the same time in a tower of doom spot and the hammer but then the Hammer broke to a massive reaction!  Obviously not planned and the ring crew took the hammer's stick from ringside.  The Batiri were able to hit their drop toe hold knee double team but Proud Oak was able to nail Kodama with a strange joker driver slam and then Thunderfrog hit the Thunderfrog Splash for the 3 count.

After the Match Sicklemeier and his new faction gave flags to the Baltic siege.  Snow Troll wanted to swear fealty but was convinced not to by Thunderfrog and Proud Oak.  The Baltic Seige got beat down big time here.

Match 7-Portia Perez vs. Heidi Lovelace-

Lovelace has a great look and a lot of energy.  Perez's heel character is great, she just hates everyone.  Portia worked over Heidi's hair early on using a lot of hairpulls and stepping on Lovelace's hair.  Lovelace came back with a trip around the turnbuckles for Perez slamming her head into the turnbuckles ten times to loud chants.  Lovelace then used her hair to whip Perez for a near fall.  Lovelace eventually won by getting Perez dazed on her knees and nailing a Hurracanranna on Perez, the hurracanrana spiked Perez on her head like a ddt and she was out cold for the three count. Loved the match but WAY WAY too short.  Lovelace looked really good here.

Match 8-Devastation Corp (Ax Smashmaster  and Flex Rumblecrunch) w/Sidney Bakabella vs. The Spectral Envoy (Ultra Mantis Black and Hallowicker)-

Rumblecrunch inadvertently hit Smashmaster with his rope walk shouldertackle early on. During the match, Blaster Mcmassive came out (looks like he's recovered from his knee injury) Hallowicked hit a corner enziguri and then Mantis and Hallowicked nailed a ton of chops on Smashmaster.  Bakabella interfered and hit Hallowicked as he was ascending the turnbuckles with his envelope of money.  Hallowicked crashed to the outside and then Mantis got annihilated by the Death Blow Top Rope Splash for the three count.  After the Match Hallowicked got nailed with a Mcmassive chokeslam.  The bad guys left the ring eating pears...

Match 9-Battle for the Potassium-Oleg the Usurper with Sidney Bakabella vs. Amassis.

Amassis came out Dragon Dragon memorial t-shirt.  Dragon Dragon and Murderer chants early on against Oleg.  Oleg took Amassis from the ring and slammed him into a gym door early.  The story here was Oleg's power against Amassis speed.  Oleg chokeslammed Amassis on the apron.  Amassis struggled to his feet and continued to get brutalized by Oleg.  Oleg nailed a nasty closeline back in the ring but then wentto the outside after missing Amassis.  Amassis grazed Oleg with a dive to the outside but then began to pepper Oleg with kicks.  He was able to nail Oleg with several elbow smashes that floored the Viking.  Amassis then dedicated a move to dragon dragon  and hit a 450 on Oleg for the surprise three count.  Again good but a little short for a title match.

Notes-  Cary Silkin was in attendance and introduced and Eddie Kingston was walking around as well.  Next WIF will be in Reading on September 1st.... During intermission the 24/7 championship changed hands as Chuck Taylor defeated Jervis Cottonbelly for the belt.

2013 - Anarchy Wrestling ran Cornelia, GA.  Larry Goodman filed the following live report:

Anarchy Wrestling continued its string of well-crafted television tapings with another fine work of at the Anarchy Arena in Cornelia, GA.

The highlights of the show came during the second hour, which featured the starpower of Wildside alumnus Caprice Coleman and the first singles encounter between Anarchy's giants, Mikael Judas and Geter.

The company is firing on all cylinders of late. The storytelling is cohesive and logical. The shows have a little bit of everything and something for everyone -- drama, comedy, violence, technical wrestling. Their main events are true to the finest sense of the term. Every show has several hooks to get people back for the next one.

About the only thing lacking from the best days of Cornelia wrestling is the experience of seeing future major league stars. Don't get me wrong. Anarchy features some supremely talented wrestlers, but they're more of the ROH variety. Judas had future major star written all over him, but evidently WWE and TNA didn't see it that way. Cody Hall is in that select group, but his availability is limited and there are roadblocks related to how he can be booked.

A paltry crowd of 65 at bell time turned into a raucous crowd of 100 before the night was over. The arrival of a throng of University of Georgia students towards the end of the first hour completely changed the tenor of the show. They treated the event like a UGA football game. It made for the most energized atmosphere at an Anarchy event since that group of camp counselors showed up a few summers back.

(1) Tommy Penirelli (with CB Suave) defeated Sweet Dreams via submission in 6 minutes. Dreams hit a sweet belly to belly suplex in the early going. Except for the dreadlocks, Dreams looks pretty much the same as he did a decade ago. Dreams rammed his knee into the turnbuckle when Penirelli stepped aside. Penirelli capitalized. When Dreams got rolling on the comeback, Suave jumped on the apron. Suave ate one from Dreams, but Bobby Moore jumped in the ring and put his lights out with the elbow. Penirelli applied an ankle lock on Dreams, who was still in dreamland.

Moore said he wasn't happy despite being the greatest Anarchy TV champion ever. Moore said he singlehandedly (ha ha) ended Billy Buck's career only to have a masked guy named Wildside kick his teeth down his throat. Moore said everyone knew it was Buck under the mask, and since Anarchy management wouldn't do their job, he was putting up a $1000 bounty to anyone that could unmask Buck.

A masked man appeared on the ramp. Moore sent Penirelli and Suave after him. The masked man disappeared through the curtain with Penirelli and Suave in hot pursuit. Meanwhile, Wildside ran in from the front door and superkicked Moore's teeth down his throat again. This segment was fun, fun, fun.

Miss Rachael announced that Anthony Henry wasn't there. She explained that a deranged stalker cost him his last match so she convinced him to take some time off. Azrael came out. Rachel said she was a fair person so she made sure Azrael had an opponent. BJ Hancock jumped Azrael from behind, laid him out with a uranage version of the Orton backbreaker,  and climbed to the top rope. The returning Stryknyn hit the ring to huge pop. Hancock bailed. Azrael and Stryknyn formed a partnership on the spot. A stellar development if you ask me.

(2) Corey Hollis defeated Slim J in 13:03. J was making his return to the ring for the first time since a serious car accident put 15 staples in his head. Hollis has ditched the beard. Clean shaven, there's a hint of facial resemblance to Robert Roode. They opened with the slickest amateur style matwork to grace an Anarchy ring in years. Hollis broke cleanly. J unleashed a furious flurry of offense. Hollis DDTed J on the apron to take control of the match. Hollis abused J outside the ring. Hollis got one near fall after another, cutting off J's comebacks at every turn until J stunned Hollis with roundhouse, and backdropped him over the top rope. J followed with a picture perfect turnbuckle moonsault to the floor. Nobody does a prettier moonsault. Back inside, J got a close near fall with Screwdriver on the Rocks. Hollis answered with his version of Death From Above (Chase Stevens). Hollis missed the killer back elbow. J pulled off a cool reversal to lock in the inverted crossface, but Hollis made the ropes. J went to the top rope. Hollis appeared to suffer an injury and while referee Dee Byers was checking on him, Mike Posey ran out to interfere. J handled Posey but the time lag allowed Hollis to recover. Hollis nailed J with the back elbow for the three count. This was an outstanding technical match.

Postmatch, Posey tried to convince Hollis that everything was on the up and up. Hollis offered to shake J's hand. J pie-faced him. Posey's credibility went out the window, and Hollis ended up walking off leaving Posey in the dust.

(3) Se7en & Shaun Tempers (with Jeff G. Bailey) defeated Jeremy Vain & Brodie Chase to retain the Anarchy Tag Team Championship in 13:51. The UGA contingent piled into the bleachers as the match was underway, and the heat ramped up like crazy. The challengers had their way with Tempers. Se7en crushed Chase with a pair of jumping elbows behind the back of referee Dee Byers. The champions got bigtime heat on Chase, including a slug in the face from Bailey. Chase gave Se7en his signature double arm DDT. and the hot tag was made. Vain hit a DVD on Tempers but Se7en broke up the pin. While Chase was battling with Se7en on the outside, Vain fought off Tempers' hangman neckbreaker and connected with the VKO then the VDT. Se7en returned to the ring to deliver a blatantly illegal sidewalk slam on Vain. Vain kicked out of it but Tempers finished him with the hangman neckbreaker. Good match except for the last minute which didn't flow smoothly at all.

The second half opened with ring announcer Jonathan Feltner asking if there were UGA folks in the house. A small bulldog was brought in the ring, and Feltner asked if Georgia was going to beat Clemson next week. The response from the UGA kids was off the chain.

(4) CB Suave (with Tommy Penirelli) defeated The Vandal to retain the Anarchy Young Lion's Championship in 8:33. A back and forth match that had the full benefit of the UGA contingent at their rowdiest. Vandal broke out the curbstomp attack. Suave used a neckbreaker and a swivel hips elbow drop for near falls. A huge Vandal chant erupted and it was comeback time. Curbstomp by Vandal for two and a "CB sucks" chant. Vandal hit the Iconoclasm for the best move of the match. Credit Suave with a taking a big bump for it. Suave hooked the ropes to thwart Vandal's finisher and hit the corkscrew neckbreaker for the pin. As noted, the crowd reaction was awesome, but the ringwork was average especially after seeing Hollis vs. J.

(5) Dango Wynn defeated Andrew Pendleton III in 6:15. Pendleton left his position in the announce booth to make his in ring return (from a nasty back injury). Crisp armdrags from Wynn. Pendleton applied a side headlock and shouted, "See, I'm winning!" It doesn't read funny but Pendleton made it funny. Pendleton taunted the UGA group as he went on the attack. Wynn rallied with a series of pinning combinations that set up another entertaining sequence. Wynn was stinging Pendleton with kicks from all angles. Pendleton covered up. Wynn bided his time waiting for Pendleton to open his eyes and nailed him with a standing dropkick. The finish saw Pendleton try to pin Wynn using the ropes. Nope. Wynn got the win the reverse top rope splash. Wynn's first win since he returned to Cornelia was well received.

Posey came to the ring and said Anarchy owner Franklin Dove was denying the inevitable and vowed to beat the respect out of him. Posey said he beat Dove's boys, Steven Walters and Kyle Matthews and would beat Caprice Coleman just like Alabama beat UGA last year.

Coleman made his entrance and got a "welcome back" chant. Coleman, who had a long run as a top star with NWA Wildside, said there was no place like home. Coleman wanted to make sure that it got into this report that the people still love him. They surely do, and for the fans that didn't know him, Coleman's charisma and showmanship won them over on the spot. Coleman said he had seen Dove train and Posey didn't really want to mess with him. Coleman then did his "show stoppin', crowd poppin', body rockin', pulse pounding" catch phrase from his Wildside days and yes, he still got the pretty face. "Now let's this get this over with before your oil dries up."

(6) Mike Posey defeated Caprice Coleman in 11:30. Dove was out watching Posey with an eagle eye. Posey missed the fire crotch leg drop and Coleman gave Posey's groin muscles a workout with a stretch cradle. Coleman did a leapfrog/dropkick combo and made it look effortless. Posey posted Coleman's shoulder and worked the body part. Coleman hulked up. They traded blows until they both went down after Coleman landed a high knee to the face. Coleman hit a leg lariat for two. Posey answered with a leg lariat off ropes for two. Coleman busted out a trio rolling northern lights suplexes and cinched in a grounded cobra clutch but Posey made the ropes. Coleman tried for his leaping huracanrana but couldn't convert, and Posey pinned him using the ropes for extra leverage. A fine match as expected. Coleman's presence took the entire show to a higher level.

Postmatch -- Posey said, "roll tide". Coleman circled the ring saying his goodbyes to the fans. He switched the hats of everyone in the first row as he went along and put the last one on Feltner's head.

Seth Delay made his return. He said NWA Anarchy (Oops) was still the hottest place to be on Saturday night. Delay said he had suffered a torn rotator cuff and a fractured foot, and was getting to be a beat up old man, but his time at Anarchy was not done. No Seth Delay talk segment is complete without somebody joining Seth for his sexy party swivel hips dance. Announcer Bret Wolverton was the victim. Wolverton is in the superheavyweight division, and this wasn't pretty or sexy, but it was absolutely hilarious. Dove about busted his gut he was laughing so hard.

(7) The Anarchy Heavyweight Title match between Champion Geter and Mikael Judas was ruled a no contest at 3:13. Judas did this tremendous psychological deal where he kept his back turned to Geter until the bell rang, then a wheeled around and unleashed a ferocious flurry of blows. Geter withstood the attack and asked Judas if that was all he had. They did three shoulder block collisions with neither man willing to budge. The action spilled outside the ring where they beat the hell out of each other. At one point, Geter ran into the post and the entire ring moved.  Byers had not choice but to throw the match out. This was just what it needed to be. The atmosphere was thick with drama and gave the fans just a taste of things to come.

Byers tried to get in between them and they both grabbed him. Byers covered his eyes. I would have done the same. They spared Byers and started going at it again. The entire locker room ran out to break it up as the crowd chanted "let them fight".

Dove ordered a rematch for September 14 with lumberjacks surrounding the ring. At this point, Judas was inside the ring and Geter was on the floor. Judas took a running start and went hurtling over the top rope onto Geter. Seeing a guy 6-6, 275 fly like that was amazing and a spectacular way to end the show.

NOTES: The September 14 show also has Hollis vs. Steven Walters in his first Anarchy match upon his return from his summer tour of England...Penirelli dedicated his match to his friend Marty Fareri. August 24 marked the first anniversary of his passing.  Delay said his shoulder was almost healed. Wolverton announced the wrestlers with Anarchy ties ranked in this year's PWI 500: Sugar Dunkerton (443), Kyle Matthews (404), Mike Posey (320), Corey Hollis (318), Mikael Judas (250), Shaun Tempers (121) and Gunner (86).

2022 - Former NWA President Howard Brody passes away.  Mike Johnson penned the following:

PWInsider.com is saddened to confirm the passing of former NWA President Howard Brody earlier today.  Brody had recently undergone a quadruple bypass surgery and unfortunately caught an infection while during the aftermath of the surgery.

Over the course of his time in professional wrestling, Brody promoted numerous shows in the United States and internationally.  He headed the Ring Warriors promotion and TV series alongside the late Hiro Matsuda, nearly bringing New Japan Pro Wrestling to Saturday morning TV syndication in the United States.  He made international distribution deals that allowed Jim Cornette to close Smoky Mountain Wrestling in the black.   His Ring Warriors show was among the first Internet shows available to be downloaded and viewed, well ahead of the technology that would make streaming commonplace today.

Brody was the first promoter to bring professional wrestling internationally to China under the MACW banner in 2003 and was among the first to bring ECW (Dory and Marti Funk being the others) to Florida when that promotion was starting to expand.   This wasn't known to many, but Howard was also the point person for Carlos Colon to sell the WWC/Puerto Rico library to WWE several years ago.

These are only a few of his accomplishments, as he was something of a real-life Forest Gump in and around professional wrestling, crossing paths with everyone from Vince McMahon to Antonio Inoki to ECW and beyond.

Brody held the post of NWA President from 1996 through 2001, bringing that brand back from near extinction via an agreement to allow WWF the usage of the name, initials and for Jeff Jarrett and others to appear as NWA personalities for a short time on WWF Monday Night Raw.  While the storyline and use quickly fizzled out on WWF programming, it was a HUGE boon to the NWA, which suddenly had a surge of interest from promoters wanting to be official members.

Most importantly, Brody pnned one of the most underrated books in wrestling history, Swimming with Piranhas: Surviving the Politics of Professional Wrestling, which I highly suggest.  The book was extremely personal and important to Brody after he co-authored Dusty Rhodes' autobiography and when that book wasn't 100% embraced, Brody took it very personal and poured a ton into his follow-up, wanting to prove himself as a writer.  He nailed that accomplishment with flying colors.

Howard was always one of the truly good guys in professional wrestling, who chased his own dreams and in doing so, helped lots of others to get opportunities and indeed, in some cases, make a good amount of money for themselves.  Howard was a friend and will be greatly missed.  I enjoyed every single conversation I ever had with him and with his passing, an important piece of independent professional wrestling history goes with him.  There is zero argument Howard had a huge place in his heart and soul for professional wrestling and today, the business will be far emptier than it was with him around.

Our deepest condolences to the family, friends and fans of Howard Brody.
