LANNY POFFO ON RANDY SAVAGE IN THE WWE HALL OF FAME

By Mike Johnson on 2015-01-12 15:55:30
During a WWE Network Breaking News segment that is currently airing on rotation, Randy Savage's brother, former WWF star Lanny Poffo was interviewed by Scott Stanford and asked his thoughts on Savage getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

"I had no thoughts," said Poffo. "I was so excited. Intellectually, there was nothing. It was all emotional. I was happy for the fans. They waited for Bruno Sammartino for so many years and now they waited for Macho Man."

Lanny also said he wanted everyone to know how much he loved his brother and that Lanny never would have gotten to WWE without him. He said that Randy was never satisfied with any aspect of his performance, loved his fans, and wanted people to get double what they paid for. He said that Savage wanted the fans in the small towns to get what the larger arena received.

Poffo talked a lot about how much family meant to Randy and noted he, his mother and his 30-year old daughter are all excited and happy. Poffo said it's a wonderful day for the "Macho fan" and fans that weren't even alive when Randy was wrestling who get to see Randy today thanks to WWE.com and the WWE Network and because of that, "Randy will never die."

Poffo did not touch upon his previously made public statement that his brother Randy wanted to go into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of his entire family, which beyond Lanny, also includes their father, the late Angelo Poffo, who wrestled and promoted the ICW promotion that gave Randy his start in the business.
