EVOLVE 36 REPORT: STRONG VERSUS GALLOWAY; GARGANO FACES A SWERVE; RONIN RETURNS TOMORROW NIGHT; AND MORE

By Richard Trionfo on 2015-01-09 23:13:36
Welcome to PWInsider.com’s coverage of Evolve 36 from the Orpheum in Ybor City, Florida.

The Open the Freedom Gate Champion Johnny Gargano comes to the ring.

Johnny asks how everyone is doing. He wanted to come out here to start off 2015. He ended 2014 as your Open the Freedom Gate Champion. He says that he knows what you are thinking and he is going to do things a little differently. He is the face of the WWNLive family. He wants to be the guy who looks at all of you and say ‘Thank You’.

It is because of each of you that Evolve is some of the best professional wrestling in the world. You look at the locker room and you have some of the best young talent. He is not talking about tomorrow’s stars. He is talking about today’s stars. If you are hungry, you come into this ring to prove it.

Guys like Uhaa Nation, Biff Busick, Timothy Thatcher, Roderick Strong, and Drew Galloway. Drew is a guy who reinvented himself and showed what he could do.

Johnny says he has an idea. Since new talent is coming to Evolve, but management should not be the ones who choose new talent. He says the wrestlers should pick someone. Every roster member should be able to endorse someone.

FIP World Champion Rich Swann makes his way to the ring.

Rich takes the mic and he says they came a long way. The last time Johnny had the belt, it made him a little loopy. All jokes aside, in 2010 it was him and Johnny and Chuck Taylor who were being held back by the guys on the top and they created Ronin.

Even though it is a new year, it was a few months ago they beat the hell out of each other in an alley in Jacksonville. At the end of the night, he got jumped, but who was there who had his back? It was Johnny Gargano.

If you want to talk about endorsing young talent. He knows that Johnny was supposed to face Caleb Konley, he is here to endorse the King of Swing . . . Shane Strickland.

Shane comes to the ring and Johnny tells Rich that you said something. You mentioned Ronin, that was a group built out of frustration. If you want an opportunity, the people paid to see a DGUSA title match so he would be a hypocrite if he didn’t give him a chance. Let’s do this now.
