Byron Saxton and Alex Riley, alone, are back inside the Arena discussing the Awards tonight. They noted a number of awards will be given away during the pre-show.
They went to the stage where Renee Young and Booker T were at the podium, welcoming everyone to the show.
The first Slammy is for “Insult of the Year.†The first insult was Chris Jericho knocking Stephanie McMahon after she was arrested on Raw. The second was Nikki Bella saying she wishes Brie had died in the womb. Well, that should win for worst promo of the year. Third was Heyman hiphopping all over John Cena. Fourth was The Rock showing up in Brooklyn, NY and ripping on Lana and Rusev.
The winner is The Rock, but out came Rusev and Lana to accept. Lana said the only real hero is Rusev and that the insult is that Americans think The Rock is some sort of hero. Rusev promised to crush the Rock the next time he shows up. There’s that Wrestlemania build.
They announced some other Slammys that were "given out earlier today" -
Fan Participation: You Sold Out chant for Seth Rollins.
Double-Cross of the Year: Seth Rollins Betrays the Shield.
Animal of The Year: The Bunny.
Best Actor: The Rock
The next award was for Tag Team of the Year. Renee Young gave out the award. The nominees were Goldust & Stardust, The Usos, Los Matadores, Miz and Mizdown and Slator Gator. Slator Gator? In what alternative dimension are these guys even in contention for this award?
The winners, deservedly, were The Usos. They said it’s been a hell of a year for the Usos. They won their first Tag Team championships and Slammy Awards. They said it was all due to the fans and thanked them. They said they would show Miz and Mizdow this Sunday why the fans voted them the best team of the year.
Riley, Booker and Saxton discussed the Match of the Year nominees.
They went to more Slammys given out “Earlier today†-
NXT Superstar of the Year: Sami Zayn.
Faction of the Year: The Shield.
Best Twitter Handle: @HeelZiggler
Anti-Gravity Moment of the Year: Seth Rollins Balcony Dive at WWE Payback.
The next Slammy was for Breakout Superstar. The nominees were Paige, Roman Reigns, Rusev, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. The winner is Dean Ambrose. Young said he is not here to accept the award due to what happened last week with Bray Wyatt. The announcers noted it was believed Ambrose suffered a crushed trachea but it’s since been confirmed it was just neck trauma. He is cleared for TLC.
Raw Guest Star of The Year: Hugh Jackman.
Best Couple of the Year: Daniel Bryan & Brie Bella
Rivalry of the Year: Daniel Bryan vs. The Authority.
The last award given out was Hashtag of the year. I'm guessing #CMPunk isn't winning. The nominees are #OccupyRaw, #RKOOuttaNowhere (THIS MUST WIN!), #MoscowMooseKnuckle, #EatSleepSuplexRepeat, and oh my God, #NineNinetyNine.
The winner was RKO out of Nowhere. No Randy Orton but instead Seth Rollins came out with J&J Security. If I ever win an Award, I'm bringing Atlas Security on stage. Rollins said that he put Orton out of action and since Randy has no friends, he accepts on behalf of putting Orton out of action forever.
