By Mike Johnson on 2023-09-12 08:00:00

September 12th

On this day in history in ....

1970 - WWWF World Champion Bruno Sammartino defeats Crusher Verdu in a Texas Death match at the Boston Garden in Massachusetts.

1982 - Sgt. Slaughter & Don Kernodle defeated Giant Baba & Antonio Inoki in a tournament final for the NWA World Tag Team Title. Well, not really. This was totally fictitious, as Baba & Inoki weren't even a tag team at the time. This was simply the NWA's way of putting the title on Slaughter & Kernodle after previous tag team champions Ole Anderson & Stan Hansen split up.

1988 - The Samoan Swat Team (Fatu & Samu) defeat John Tatum & Jimmy Jack Funk (Jesse Barr) to win the World Class Championship Wrestling Texas Tag Team Title.

1989 - Clash of the Champions VIII was held in Columbia, South Carolina at the USC Carolina Coliseum. Here are the results:
- The Road Warriors defeated The Samoan Swat Team when Hawk pinned Fatu after a Doomsday Device.
- Tom Zenk defeated The Cuban Assassin via sleeperhold.
- Sid Vicious defeated Ranger Ross.
- NWA World Tag Team Champions The Freebirds (Jimmy Garvin & Michael Hayes) defeated Rick & Scott Steiner.
- Brian Pillman defeated Norman the Lunatic.
- Steve Williams defeated Mike Rotundo.
- United States Champion Lex Luger defeated Tommy Rich.
- Sting & Ric Flair defeated Dick Slater & The Great Muta via disqualification when Terry Funk interfered and tried to choke Ric Flair by putting a plastic bag on his head.

1999 - WCW Fall Brawl was held in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Here are the results:
- Rey Mysterio Jr., Eddie Guerrero & Billy Kidman defeated Vampiro & The Insane Clown Posse when Kidman pinned Vampiro after a Guerrero hit a missile dropkick and Kidman followed with the shooting star press.
- WCW Cruiserweight Champion Lenny Lane defeated Kaz Hayashi with a full nelson into a forward legsweep.
- Hugh Morrus & Brian Knobbs defeated Dean Malenko & Shane Douglas in a no disqualifications match when Morrus pinned Malenko with a moonsault.
- WCW Television Champion Rick Steiner defeated Perry Saturn with a top rope bulldog.
- Berlyn defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan with a neckbreaker.
- Harlem Heat defeated Barry & Kendall Windham to win the WCW World Tag Team Title when Booker pinned Kendall with a missile dropkick. With this victory, Harlem Heat became the first ever nine-time WCW World Tag Team Champions.
- Sid Vicious defeated Chris Benoit to win the United States Title with a powerbomb after Benoit missed a top rope dropkick.
- Bill Goldberg defeated Diamond Dallas Page with a spear and jackhammer.
- Sting defeated Hulk Hogan to win the WCW World Heavyweight Title with the Scorpion Deathlock after hitting Hogan with a baseball bat. The match saw interference from Bret Hart, Lex Luger, Sid Vicious, and Diamond Dallas Page. This match made Sting a six-time WCW World Champion.

2002 - WWE's Billy and Chuck appeared on NBC's Today Show.  Graham Cawthon filed the following report:

Matt Lauer interviewed Billy & Chuck on NBC’s The Today Show earlier this morning around 7:45 EST. It was a pretty good interview and, thankfully, the two were not in character. Lauer credited the duo of winning over fans through “their prowess in the ring”. Before and during the segment, clips from the taped Smackdown! wedding as well as previous backstage segments aired.

The team talked about how their characters caught on because of how hot they thought they were, talking about having their own calendar to compete with the Divas, etc. They mentioned that the fans see it as entertainment and that when they laugh at them, they are not laughing at homosexuality as a whole. Chuck mentioned that all the WWE did was take people from everyday life and put them in a wrestling situation. Both men say they are not gay in real life and credit Vince McMahon with the concept, since they wanted to do something big for the “premiere” of Smackdown!

In conclusion, GLAAD – who has previously been on the WWE’s case about how homosexuals have been portrayed (Goldust in particular) – is actually happy about how the WWE has handled the situation and in a press release applauds the WWE for not giving out a stereotypical view of homosexuality. The group sent along a gravy boat as a wedding gift.

2002 - Billy and Chuck also appeared on The Howard Sterm Show.  Kenneth Baldwin filed the following report:

Billy & Chuck were on Howard Stern this morning. I heard the whole interview, and here are the highlights:

- Before coming on, Howard introduces them as the 'gay' wrestlers. He also plugs Smackdown tonight and the wedding.

- Howard begins by asking if Billy & Chuck are gay in real life, or are they playing characters. They both say they are playing characters on TV, and Billy says it's been a challenge to play a gay wrestler. Howard begins joking about how 'lucky' it must be to have Vince McMahon tell you that you're going to be gay. Billy and Chuck laughed it off, to them, it's just playing characters. Billy says he's been 'working with Vince for 10 years now' and has played 5 or 6 characters, and this is just another gimmick.

- Howard asked about their backgrounds and how they got into wrestling. Billy says he used to be bull-rider, and just wanted to be a wrestler.  Chuck talks about his days of college basketball.

- There were four phone-ins from fans during the interview. The first caller says Billy & Chuck are ruining the WWE. The second caller identifies himself as 'Big Val' and said he used to be wrestler, and wrestled for the WWE. He said that Billy knows him. The guy sounded bitter, claiming Vince 'screwed' him and that Vince is off the wall, doing whatever he wants to do instead of putting on good wrestling. This guy started rambling on about how Vince stole Taker's gimmick from him. A 3rd caller said that Billy & Chuck were 'killing the WWE' and that ratings are down and it's because of publicity stunts like this.  The last caller was hard to understand, but it seemed like more negativity towards B&C and the WWE. (Billy & Chuck didn't really respond to caller's comments).

- Howard then asked if they are afraid that the fans are pissed, or that if fans are going to have a hard time differentiating reality from TV. Howard also asked what the crowd response was like at Smackdown. Billy says he thinks most fans realize that it's all an act, and actually believes the fans are wanting for some kind of 'revelation' in which Billy & Chuck are NOT gay. Billy and Chuck didn't think this gimmick would reflect on their overall careers.

- The interview was peppered with the usual Howard humor, and many gay jokes. He asked if they ever kissed ('No') and in order to 'mentally' prepare, do they actually imagine performing sex acts on each other (Also 'No'). Billy & Chuck laughed with all the jokes and talked about all the 'stretching' they do on Smackdown. Howard also asked who the 'woman' was in the relationship. Billy says he proposed to Chuck, so Chuck must be the woman. Howard says based off of looks, he would've guessed Billy would be the woman.

- Billy and Chuck had to leave to be interviewed by Matt Lauer, so Howard joked that they should strip and rape Lauer.

- After B&C leave, Howard and Robin comment about how fans of the WWE are probably pretty irate over the whole thing, but that wrestlers basically have to do what Vince wants. In the interview, Howard thought that wrestlers 'made good money'. which B&C did not audibly respond. Robin commented that the look on Chuck's face made it apparent that they don't. Howard said that it seems they were handling it all very well.

Interestingly enough, Billy & Chuck were very open and into the gay angle. They seem to have a positive attitude over the whole thing which came across very well in the interview.

2002 - WWE issued the following press release:

World Wrestling Entertainment Says 60,000 Sign Constitution to Show Support for America

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 2002-- Smackdown Your Vote/Pledge To Participate Tour Stops in Washington, D.C. to participate in National Civic Participation Week activities

With more than 60,000 people signing the Constitution to show their support for America since late August, the national "Smackdown Your Vote!(TM) Pledge to Participate Tour" today made its third stop -- in Washington, D.C. -- to help unveil the Freedom Quilt and participate in the Freedom Fair.

The six-city tour - sponsored by World Wrestling Entertainment(TM) (WWE(TM)), Participate America Foundation and Weekly Reader -- encourages Americans to become more active citizens. During the tour, citizens are invited to sign a replica of the U.S. Constitution to show their support for America, register to vote, and sign up to be volunteer and be active in their community through Participate America Foundation's "Pledge to Participate" program.

More than 60,000 people have signed the Constitution at tour events or on-line since the tour kicked off on August 26 in New York City at Federal Hall on Wall Street with New York State Governor George Pataki, Participate American Foundation President Bob Hansan, and WWE(TM) Superstars The Rock(R), Kurt Angle(TM), Edge(TM), Bradshaw(TM), Mark Henry(TM) and Stacy Keibler(TM). The second Tour stop was at the University of Minnesota on Tuesday, September 10, with WWE Superstars Kurt Angle and The Hurricane, who were joined by Minnesota Secretary of State Mary Kiffmeyer, State Representative Tony Sertich and student leaders.

At today's tour events, WWE Superstar Maven, U. S. Representative Cliff Stearns, George Washington University President Joel Trachtenberg, USA Freedom Corps Director John Bridgeland, and Participate America Foundation President Bob Hansan today joined George Washington University student leaders in unveiling the Freedom Quilt to kick-off a three-day Freedom Fair to celebrate National Civic Participation Week in Washington, D.C. George Washington University students created the Freedom Quilt as a visual reminder of the diversity, strength, unity and freedom of expression that abounds at the University and throughout our country. The Quilt is in the form of a patchwork United States Flag and measures over 90 feet in length and 50 feet in width.

At the Freedom Fair that followed the Quilt unveiling, Maven signed autographs for those people who renewed their shared commitment to their country and Constitution by signing a replica Constitutional scroll, made a commitment to "Pledge To Participate" by volunteering, communicating with elected officials, and contributing to worthy causes, or registered to vote in the 2002 elections.

"As part of National Civic Participation Week, Americans all across the country are undertaking projects to better their democracy and their communities," said Maven. "That's a good sign that Americans will take stock of the tragedy of September 11th and turn it into something that will make us stronger as a nation.

"Yesterday, we as Americans stood united as we mourned again the tragic loss of life that occurred when terrorists attacked against our country. Today, we stand united to make a difference for America and all Americans."

The Smackdown Your Vote!(TM) Pledge To Participate Tour next travels to Denver on Tuesday, September 17, to celebrate the birthday of the U.S Constitution. The Tour's final stops are in Los Angeles on Monday, September 23, and Houston on Monday, September 30. Later in the fall, Weekly Reader plans to promote volunteerism in its various publications and run a national essay contest with WWE(TM) and Participate America later this fall.

If you are unable to attend one of the Tour events, you can show your support for America by signing a Constitution on-line at wwe.com or smackdownyourvote.com.

Smackdown starts off with recaps from last Thursday.

We start off with Cole and Tazz talking about the events to come in the evening.
Then we go into a match with Brock Lesnar, accompanied by Paul Heyman, vs. Hardcore holly.

Brock Lesnar vs. Hardcore Holly

The start off with a face-to-face confrontation then Hardcore punched Lesnar in the face to start off the match. Hardcore tossed Brock out of the ring, but Brock continued to gain control over holly throughout the match. Brock tossed Lesnar back in the ring and tries for a three count, and was unsuccessful with Hardcore kicking out. Hardcore got knocked out with the clothesline, then Brock took him down with a suplex, Hardcore battled back, but Brock took him in the corner and laid in some kicks on Hardcore. Brock gets Hardcore in the middle of the ring putting the bear hug on Hardcore. Brock gave Hardcore a backsuplex and tried for a three count again, but Hardcore kicked out. Brock gave Hardcore the powerbomb, landing Hardcore on his head.  Brock gave Hardcore the F5 to get the pin and win the match.

They show and Instant Replay as Brock and Paul leave the ring.

Backstage we see the Undertaker and Sarah have arrived.

Commercial.

Back from commercial we go to a match with Eddie and Chavo Guerrero vs. John Cena and Edge

Eddie and Chavo Guerrero vs. John Cena and Edge

Eddie attacks Edge before the bell rings. John Cena holds Eddie off the ring floor by his hair. Eddie finds a way to get out of the hold and back into the ring. Eddie and Chavo try to take over Cena but Edge came in with a double clothesline. And the match is on. Eddie pins Cena for the win.  This was a very interesting match.

After the match Chavo and Eddie are in the ring with Edge lying face down on the mat.
Chavo took his pants off and pulled his underwear up like a thong and Eddie goes to push Edge's head into a Chavo stinkface, Edge stopped Eddie and turned it around and Eddie ended up with the Chavo Stinkface.

Commercial

Back from commercial we, of course, see a "moments ago".  Backstage Eddie and Chavo are arguing. Eddie is ticked about getting the Stinkface, Chavo explains that he didn't know that Eddie was on the receiving end.

Asking why Taker brought Sara to the stadium, he said she had family there.
Matt Hardy came up and congratulated Taker on having a little one andTaker told him to have the conversation another time. Matt tried to walk into the locker room to congratulate Sara; Taker didn't like the idea and tossed Matt Hardy into the door behind him.

Rico is seen on the cell phone saying he had two grooms and no brides.

He walks into Steph's office to ask her to please attend the ceremony. She told him to understand that its not that she doesn't want to be there, its just that she has bad luck attending weddings…Steph said she hopes all is O.K.  Rico said its not O.K. and rattles off a list of problems accruing. Rico was freaking out. And Steph said she will attend and Rico thanked her and left.

Commercial

Back from commercial Kurt Angle walks out to the ring.
He starts off saying how appropriate that he has a return match with Rey in Minni, you know meaning short. The crowd antagonizes Angle with chanting What!?! and You S*ck  (What chants still exist). He says that Rey is a boy in a mans world, then says he's a man who loves to play with boys, he quickly tried to fix that statement. The You S*ck chants came in well there. But what Angle meant to say was that he'd love to man handle Rey. Again trying to fix the sentence and does it again. And says he is going to get on top of Rey, the stops again and tells Rey to get his butt out there.

Commercial

Back from commercial Angle is still in the ring, and Rey enters for a match.

Angle vs. Rey Mysterio

The bell rings and we are ready for a great match. Angle showing Mysterio no respect. Angle running around the ring after Rey and Angle went flying through the ropes. Angle comes back in the ring and is still falling for all the setups Rey is putting in front of him. Rey gets a two count on Angle, Angle tossed Rey across the ring, Angle gains control for a bit and goes for a three count on Rey but is only successful with two. Angle puts a bear hug on Rey. Rey rolls over for a three count but only gets two. Both are on the mat as the ten count starts. They both get up before ten. Angle finally gets an ankle lock on Rey but Rey breaks from it. Rey dialed 619 on Angle, and again goes for a three count but Angle kicked out at 2 ½. Rey is on the top rope and Angle runs up the ropes and gives Rey the Angle slam and finally gets the three-count on Rey.

Backstage we see a limo pull up.  A guard knocks on the window to see who it is, then allows them through.

Commercial

Back from commercial we go to Chris Benoit vs. Rikishi match.

Chris Benoit vs. Rikishi

Benoit gives Rikishi a headbutt, and Rikishi did some move I couldn't explain. Benoit gives Rikishi some chops and goes for a three but only gets a two count with Rikishi kicking out. Benoit puts Rikishi in the sleeper hold. Rikishi gets to his feet and slings Benoit into the ropes. He starts slapping his behind, smells like a stinkface coming soon. Rikishi gets to the top rope and Benoit goes behind him and drops Rikishi to the floor. Benoit goes to the top rope, but Kurt Angle ran out and knocked Benoit of the top rope. Rikishi tossed Angle out of the ring.  Rikishi goes for the stinkface on Benoit, and Angle stood outside the ring holding Benoit in place. Angle left the ring laughing. Benoit wins by DQ.

Commercial

We come back to start off the ceremony. We see the ring getting ready as we go back to Steph's office and Benoit was demanding a match with Kurt Angle for him laughing about the stinkface, she sets a match for Unforgiven. Benoit vs. Angle. Matt barged in and demanded a match vs. Undertaker, Steph told him he doesn't demand anything, and Undertaker already has a match tonight. Steph told Matt since he's so filled with 'Mattitude', she made the match, Matt Hardy vs. Undertaker.

We go back to the ring, we see Rico is out there asking the Justice of the Peace if he was kind of old as he shook his hand. He walked through the ring complaining about all the things wrong. The flowers, the colors, and so on.

Commercial

Back we see Steph getting in the ring. Rico told her she looked wonderful and said the Justice of the Peace was a last minute replacement. He addresses the crowd, presenting the commitment ceremony of Billy and Chuck.

Three ladies are up on the ring entrance singing, "It's Raining Men", as Billy and Chuck come out dancing dressed in tuxes with red ties. The entered the ring and gave each other a big hug. Only people in the ring are Rico, Steph, Billy, Chuck and the Justice of the Peace, all dancing by the way.

The girls stop singing and the Justice of the peace starts. Billy and Chuck have written their own vows. Chuck started. He told Billy he captured his heart. Then Billy goes and said to Chuck that his vows were corny. But that's why he thought Chuck was special and put the ring on his finger. And asked him to be his tag team partner permanently. Rico said how wonderful it was. Rico presented a video of highlights entitled "Our Love Story".

Rico wiped tears from his eyes. Rico said to go on with the ceremony.

But first the Justice had to ask if there was anyone there who did not think that these two should be together, and to speak now of forever hold your peace.  Silence, besides the crowd of boos.

Then we hear music and Godfather has walked out with all his girls.  Godfather spoke saying he was sorry but when he heard that Minneapolis was having a party that he had to be there. So let the good times roll cause the Godfather is back in business. But he had to stop the ceremony and said the truth must be heard. And asked Billy what happened. Said he knew Billy still had the pimp in him. Godfather said he remembered when the fine, fine, fine, fine, ladies liked him so much. And to Chuck he said he was the legendary skirt chaser of all time.  Rico told Godfather to hold on that he wasn't taking the interruption and that no one in the building wanted to see him or his good time girls and to remove himself from the building. And if the Godfather didn't do it, Rico would have security do it for him. Billy and Chuck tried to speak, but Rico said he had it under control. Rico said to go right to the end of the ceremony and skip the interruption. The Justice of the Peace asked Billy if he would take Chuck till death do they part, in sickness and in health, and he said YES! The Justice then asked Chuck the same question. Rico told Chuck to go ahead it was O.K., and that it wasn't time to get cold feet. Chuck finally said yes. The Justice was going to pronounce them when Chuck and Billy stopped them and said it wasn't supposed to go this far, it was a publicity stunt, that they aren't gay (and there isn't anything wrong with it). Billy said if he were gay he wouldn't marry Chuck. Rico freaked out.  The Justice went on to say some words. Some were hard to hear. But the last line he said was three minutes. Then he stood up straight and in his own tone of voice asked, "did I hear myself say three minutes?" And then he took off his mask and it turned out to be Eric Bischoff.  Bischoff grabbed Steph and held her back in the corner, as the Island Boys came out destroying the ring and knocked out Billy and Chuck. One of the Island Boys picked up Steph and dropped her on her back. Rico was holding Steph down, then Rey, Cena and Edge I believe, came running out and after Bischoff; Angle was in the ring to check on Steph while the rest of the Smackdown roster came out.

Commercial

Back from commercial they showed the "moments ago". Torrie Wilson comes down to the ring for here match against Nidia.

Torrie Wilson vs. Nidia.

Nidia came to the ring and Torrie stopped her. They both got back into the ring and the bell rang. Nidia knocked down Torrie and threw her gum at her. It was a quick match with Torrie getting the three count on Nidia.

We see Undertaker and Sara in the back. Undertaker said he would be right back. We see Matt Hardy in the back knocking on Brock's door and asked Brock and Paul if they were ready.

Commercial

Back from commercial we see Matt Hardy come to the ring with Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman, followed by Undertaker entering to the ring with his motorcycle.

Matt Hardy vs. Undertaker

Undertaker came in the ring throwing his shirt out at Brock; Heyman was jumping on the ring acting like a lunatic. Heyman throws a chair in the ring and the ref. throws it back out. UT starts dominating Matt Hardy. Heyman keeps trying to interfere and the ref. gets out of the ring and forces Heyman to leave. Matt had seemed to have got some kind of control, however that didn't last long. Undertaker is outside the ring and Brock takes a shot at him. Brock rolls UT back into the ring and the Ref. steps out telling Brock to leave ringside too. Back in the ring Matt is getting some hits in on UT. UT stopped him with a clothesline. Undertaker gave Matt Hardy some punches that kept knocking hardy down. UT gave Matt Hardy snake eyes on the top rope. They show on the screen that Paul entered UT's dressing room and started to talk to Sara. As soon as Undertaker saw it he was out of the ring and on his way there. He entered the room and attacked Paul. Brock came in from behind and hit UT with a chair. Then went walking towards Sara backing her into the wall. Brock put his hands on her pregnant stomach and said "Life's A Bitch".  Lesnar and Paul left. And that was the end of Smackdown.

2002 - CZW Fake You TV aired on TV48 in Philadelphia.  Phil filed the following TV report:

CZW Fake You TV Episode #61
9/12/02 on WGTW Channel 48 out of Burlington/Philadelphia, PA

This is CZW's first episode in their new Thursday at midnight time slot. They are still listed in the TV guide for this coming Saturday at the pervious 9pm time slot, but from what I heard, that is most likely a replay of tonight's show.

Segment #1- The show opens with The Rockin' Rebel and Lobo in the ring at the Jersey Re-Invasion 9/7/02 show. Lobo says he has a serious leg injury and as much as he would like to beat the hell out of the H8 Club, unfortunately he won't be able to wrestle. Justice Pain comes to the ring. Lobo tells pain that unfortunately he does not have a singles match for him tonight, but that Justice Pain will team with The Rockin' Rebel against the H8 Club for the CZW Tag Titles. Pain says no thanks. Lobo says if he does the tag match tonight, then at Viking Hall on 9/14 he will bring him a challenger like none in the past. Pain says "Who? Billy Fives?". Lobo says no, that this will be a legitimate challenger. Pain asks if the challenger on 9/14 will be worth it to the fans. Lobo says "Scout's honor" and promises next week will be worth it, a challenge of a lifetime. Pain says he has a deal.

Eric Gargiulo welcomes everyone to Fake You TV and says tonight's show is action packed. He plugs the September 14th show at Viking Hall.

Segment #2- Robby Moreno tries to interview Z-Barr but Z-Barr is too busy playing an arcade game. Moreno says that Z-Barr asked for this interview And wonders why. Z-Barr didn't realize he was on TV and yells at Moreno for not telling him. Z-Barr says if he loses this heavyweight title match (on the arcade game) then they (he and Moreno) are not driving home together. Moreno said they didn't drive together, his mom dropped him off. Moreno asks Barr what he will be doing at the Arena on 9/14. Z-Barr said beating someone. Moreno asked who. Z-Barr said someone! Moreno said "A monkey?". Z-Barr respond "Maybe!". Moreno ended the segment with "Fans, Z-Barr will be beating a monkey on September 14th, be there!" .... um, okay.

Segment #3- Ian Knoxx vs. "The Red Bull" Nick Berk. Nick Berk with yet another character. Berk and Knoxx trade drinks. Since Nick Berk does not drink and Ian Knoxx drinks nothing but alcohol, they quickly returned their respective drinks to each other. The fight was back and forth early on with Nick Berk breaking out a bunch of moves including a Split Legged Moonsault. Berk seemed to be dead set on stretching Knoxx but John House noted that Ian Knoxx may be too drunk to tap. Gargiulo mentions how Nick Berk has gotten himself in great shape over the past few months and has obviously made a commitment to the gym. Ian Knoxx hit The Off Switch on Berk but Berk kicked out at 2. Knoxx sets up a chair. After a few reversals, Berk got Knoxx up for a Berk Driver but the ref was kicked in the process. Knoxx hit the Drunken Driver on Berk but with the ref out, The Rachies (Adam Flash & Danny Rose) came in and laid out Knoxx. Danny Rose (who with a new haircut looks like Doc Diamond) whipped Knoxx into a spear by Adam Flash. They continued to beat on Knoxx some more until finally leaving the ring area. Berk made the cover and when the ref came to, he made the 3 count. Nick Berk is the winner by pinfall.

Segment #4- The Rachies (Adam Flash & Danny Rose) are talking backstage (with a lot of background noise making it hard to hear). Lobo appears and tells them that next week (9/14) he wants them to make an example of The Irish Drinking Team (Ian Knoxx & Chris Stylz).

Segment #5- Sonjay Dutt vs. Ruckus. Sonjay Dutt has been referred to as just "Sonjay" the last two weeks so I will use that from now on. The crowd greets Sonjay with chants of "Where's my carpet??". Sonjay does a Suicide Senton to the asphalt outside the ring on to Ruckus and face first into the steel chairs. Gargiulo and House mention how Ruckus has been on a tremendous winning streak and sooner or later should be in line for a shot at Justice Pain or Junior Heavyweight Champion Trent Acid. Sonjay executes a Springboard Triple Jump Moonsault. Sonjay, who kind of looks like a cross between Johnny Kashmere and Tajiri, showed a lot of offensive skills and was very aggressive and charismatic. He looks like a good addition to CZW. Ruckus does the Razzle Dazzle to Sonjay in the corner and then gives him The Chronic, but Sonjay kicks out after two. Ruckus goes for the Razzle Dazzle again but Sonjay kicks him in the back as he comes in. Sonjay executes a Dragonrana from the top but Ruckus kicks out at two. Ruckus powerbombs Sonjay into the turnbuckle then goes outside and gets three steel chairs he puts in the ring. Sonjay takes a chair and nails Ruckus in the head with it. Sonjay does a Moonsault Double Stomp on to a steel chair he laid on Ruckus. Sonjay misses a flying elbow and Ruckus throws a chair at him. Ruckus puts a chair on Sonjay and hits the Infra-Red (sorry, didn't catch the name that Ruckus uses for the move). Ruckus sets up two chairs and bridges them with the third. After a series of reversals, Ruckus balances himself on the third chair and gives Sonjay a Brainbuster through the chairs and gets the pinfall.

Segment #6- The Rockin' Rebel (with Lobo) and CZW Heavyweight Champion Justice Pain vs. CZW Tag Team Champions The H8 Club (Nick Gage & Nate Hatred) (with Dewey). Rebel and Pain made separate entrances which led Gargiulo to mention that isn't a good sign as they obviously have not talked strategy. Just a little thing like that that makes Gargiulo stand out above the rest. Not sure what purpose Dewey serves as the H8 Club don't need a manager and shouldn't have one based on their tough ass characters. The Rachies (Adam Flash & Danny Rose) attack Nick Gage before the bell outside of the ring while the match begins. They Irish Whipped Nick Gage into a barbed board that was on the outside. Rebel gives Hatred a dropkick which stuns House and Gargiulo. Billy Fives continues to get trashed by the CZW commentators as they keep saying Billy Fives is not their idea of a big name mystery opponent and they hope 9/14's will be better. Gage knocked Rebel off the apron leaving Pain to himself for a bit. Gage gave Pain his Choke Slam into a Backbreaker (not sure of the name of the move but it looks pretty good). Hatred goes outside and throws Rebel into the chairs. Gage and Pain soon spill into the crowd as well. Justice Pain gets back body dropped over the barrier set up and threw wooden tables on the other side (this show was at a flea market).

Gargiulo comments "I am sure those ladies selling Beanie Babies® on the other side are not thrilled!". Pain and Gage get back to the ring, each with a chair. Jain whips Gage into the corner and nails him with a good clothesline. He then hits The Blockbuster on Gage, but Hatred makes it in the ring before Pain could go for the cover. The H8 Club then double team Pain. Rebel breaks up a pin attempt on Pain after a Nate Hatred Northern Lights Suplex. Rebel then hits a Leg Drop off the top rope onto Hatred but Pain breaks up the pin attempt for some reason. Pain didn't realize what he was doing. Pain then punches Rebel which sends him right into a Decapitator giving The H8 Club the victory.

Segment #7- Johnny Kashmere, Ty Street, Nick Berk, Danny Rose, Trent Acid, and Adam Flash are standing around talking after the show. John House pulls up in his car and tries to get them all to go to Atlantic City with him so they can hang out with the hookers and druggies. They all refuse saying they have to be prepared for 9/14 and have reputations to uphold.

NOTES: I've mentioned many times that I do not like clipped matches too much, but I do like how CZW does them. Each time they skip ahead in a match they buffer it with a CZW logo, so it is a clean cut.

CZW returns to Viking Hall on Saturday, September 14th. CZW Heavyweight Champion Justice Pain takes on a mystery challenger; The Rachies (Adam Flash & Danny Rose) vs. The Irish Drinking Team (Ian Knoxx & Chris Stylz); BJW Heavyweight Death Match Champion The Wifebeater vs. The Necro Butcher; The H8 Club (Nick Gage & Nate Hatred) vs. NWA Wildside's The Lost Boys (Gabriel & Azreal); M-Dogg 20 vs. Josh Prohibition in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match; The Backseat Boys (Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere) vs. NWA Wildside's T-N-T (Tony Stradlin & Todd Sexton); and more.

Justice Pain's challenger for 9/14 has been rumored to be many people. My guess based on nothing at all other than hope is C.M. Punk. Punk would fit right in with CZW's fan base, and he, along with Christopher Daniels, are the 2 unsigned workers who belong in the WWE the most.

2003 - Takashi Sugiara defeats Michael Modest in Tokyo, Japan to win the Pro Wrestling Noah Junior Heavyweight Title.

2004 - WWE held their Unforgiven PPV. Here is Tim Whitehead's original report on the show:

WWE's Unforgiven (9/12 from Portland, OR) proved to be a thumb's in the middle show from my perspective. There was one real good match and one that was horrible. Everything else was average-to-decent TV type action, including the main event. It was once again clear that they rushed way too fast into the Triple H vs. Randy Orton deal. It was basically standard stuff other than the ladder match. The live crowd was strange. It got hot on occasion but at other times was very cool. Commentary from Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler was fine.

CHRIS BENOIT & WILLIAM REGAL defeated RIC FLAIR & BATISTA in 15:05. Really strange seeing Benoit in an opening match after being RAW World Champion for five months. He went for a crossface early, but Batista made the ropes. Regal tagged in against Batista and they had a major style clash. Flair came in and traded hard chops with Benoit. The live crowd, as always, was into that. Flair took a backdrop. He also took his face-first bump after a series of shots from Benoit. Regal returned, but Flair raked his eyes and chop blocked him. Benoit managed to tag back in and he sent Flair into another face-first bump with an enzuigiri. Benoit tried for the sharpshooter on Batista but he powered out. Flair & Batista cornered Regal and put a beating on him. Flair hooked the figure four. Benoit made the save. Benoit chopped Flair some more and backdropped him again. He did the triple Germans on Flair, and also did one on Batista when he ran in. Benoit put the crossface on Flair, with Batista breaking it up. Batista gave Regal a spinebuster. Regal suffered a busted lip. Batista and Regal ended up fighting out on the floor as Flair laid Benoit out and went for the figure four. Benoit countered it and hooked the crossface. Flair, always the fall guy, submitted. Average opener with decent heat.

Backstage, Christian and Trish Stratus were arguing. Trish wanted Tyson Tomko to accompany her to the ring for her women's title defense, but Christian wanted Tomko to stay backstage with him in case Chris Jericho attacked. Trish said Tomko needed to be out there with her in case she was attacked from behind. Christian said it wouldn't be the first time she's taken it from behind. Tomko didn't know which side to take, but then Trish came on to him and promised some favors to him in the locker room later. Tomko looked at Christian and said, "good luck", as he left with Trish. Christian compained that Trish really is a slut.

TRISH STRATUS defeated VICTORIA in 8:20 to retain the women's title. Victoria did a hip toss. Trish hit some kicks. Victoria dropped Trish across her knee and kicked her out to the floor. Victoria tried to go out after Trish but Tomko protected her. Trish posted Victoria and kicked her hard. Trish scored some twos. Victoria scored twos of her own with a sideslam and a standing moonsault. Victoria headbutted Trish and then made the mistake of doing a plancha onto Tomko out on the floor. Tomko tossed her right back in, where Trish nailed her with the stratusfaction for the pin. An okay women's match, but it had little heat. Afterward, Tomko was planning to slam Victoria but the "mystery woman" ran in and DDT'd him for the save.

TYSON TOMKO beat STEVEN RICHARDS in 6:25. Tomko got on the mic and demanded that the "mystery woman" come out and fight him. To prove he wasn't a complete idiot, he called "her" a cross-dressing hermaphrodite. Poor JR & Lawler had to walk the thin line between pretending not to know the obvious and breaking kayfabe. The "mystery woman" returned and the impromptu match began. Tomko quickly stripped off the dress to reveal a bra & unsexy panty clad Richards. Lawler noted the, uh, bulge in the panties to indicate that the "mystery woman" was a male. The crowd hated this match, and I mean they really hated it. And they were right, because it sucked. Tomko tossed Richards around, seemingly forever, calling him a punk and a big sissy. Richards put a claw hold on Tomko's crotch and rallied briefly. Then, for reasons no one knows, Richards went to pick up his bra (which had fallen off) and Tomko gave him a swinging neckbreaker for the pin. Horrible match.

CHRIS JERICHO defeated CHRISTIAN in a ladder match in 22:28 to win the vacant IC Title. It was announced that no one would be allowed at ringside for this match, to explain Trish & Tomko's absence. They brawled at first. Jericho hit two suplexes. Jericho vaulted Christian high over the top and out to the floor. Jericho threw a ladder at him but the post got in the way and that spot sort of looked bad. Jericho hit an enzuigiri on Christian and successfully hit him with the ladder. They brawled over the rail and into the crowd. Jericho used a cable to choke Christian, which was legal since this match was no-DQ. Christian hit an umprettier on Jericho on the floor, and took the opening to try and climb to retrieve the belt. Jericho pulled him down. Each took turns ramming the other into the ladder. They took some stiff blows here. Christian tried to climb again but Jericho stopped him and then threw the ladder on him. Jericho climbed to the top rope and rode the ladder down onto Christian. That looked scary. Christian recovered and used the ladder on Jericho. Christian started to climb, but came back down when Jericho flipped him off. That spot didn't look all that sensible. Jericho dropkicked the ladder into Christian. He then bulldogged Christian on the ladder and sandwiched him using the ladder. Jericho went for the lionsault and landed on the ladder. He sold his knee big time, and really there's no way to protect yourself on a spot like that. Christian climbed and grabbed the belt but couldn't get it loose. Jericho pulled the ladder away, leaving Christian hanging from the belt. He then used the ladder to knock Christian off for a killer bump. The crowd, which had been amazingly cool for most of this match, erupted into a Y2J chant. Jericho tried to climb. Christian turned the ladder over. Christian went up, and Jericho caught him and put a form of the walls hold on him on the ladder before both bumped off. Jericho went up again and almost got the belt, but he took a seriously dangerous bump when Christian knocked the ladder over. Jericho just missed serious injury when he landed partly on the ladder. Next, both went up separate ladders, and both bumped off hard. Jericho recovered first and climbed to successfully retrieve the belt for the win. Great match and great effort by both guys. Clearly the show's highlight.

Todd Grisham went to Kane's locker room to interview him. Lita came out and ran Kane down, expressing hope that Shawn Michaels would hospitalize him. Kane arrived and informed Lita that Eric Bischoff had made the match a no-DQ bout. He forced a kiss on her and dragged her off to the ring. This begged the eternal question: Why do male wrestlers who are having troubles with their valets, wives, girlfriends, or whatever, take them to the ring with them?

Jonathan Coachman interviewed Jericho, who was clearly in legit pain from his match. He put over being the first ever seven time IC champ. Edge arrived and said Jericho's win was hollow since he didn't beat the champ to get the belt. He promised to take the title back once he heals up. Jericho said he'll be ready.

SHAWN MICHAELS defeated KANE in the no-DQ match in 18:01. Kane started with brawling. The Heartbreak Kid hit a Thesz press and pounded Kane with fists. HBK kicked Kane out to the floor, where Kane went for a lariat but ended up hitting the post. Back in the ring, HBK came off the top but was caught with a fist. Kane hit a lariat, and then went out to argue with Lita, who was cheering for HBK. HBK hit him with a plancha. Kane used Lita as a shield to block further HBK aggression. Kane slammed HBK on the Spanish broadcast desk. The desk didn't break, so Kane slammed him again and this time it did break. Returning to the ring, Kane did his methodical offense, pounding HBK with legdrops and slams, and whipping him into the corner to hurt his bad back. Kane scored some twos. Kane hit a neckbreaker and a lariat. HBK came back with a DDT and a flying forearm. Kane hurled HBK into the corner and he took the Flair flip bump out to the floor. Kane rammed HBK into the stairs and he juiced. Kane got a chair but HBK blocked the shot. Kane hit a big elbow to HBK's face. HBK posted Kane and hit an elbow off the top. The crowd finally started getting into the match, as their pattern seemed to be to wait for the closing minutes to get hot. HBK went for the sweet chin music, but Kane outmaneuvered him and caught him with a boot to the face for a two count. Kane hit a lariat off the top. HBK used a low blow to block a chokeslam. HBK hit Kane with a hard chairshot, but then went down himself, I guess from exhaustion. Kane revived first and got the chair. Lita struggled with him over it, allowing HBK to recover and hit the chin music for the pin. Overall a decent match, especially the closing couple of minutes.

Grisham interviewed HHH, who took full credit for making Randy Orton into a star. It was the standard HHH bragging promo. He said he'll spit in everyone's face the way Orton spat in his.

LA RESISTANCE defeated RHYNO & TAJIRI to retain the RAW World Tag Titles in 9:40. Tajiri and Sylvan Grenier started off with mat action. Rhyno backdropped Rob Conway. Conway evaded the gore. Rhyno got tied up for a while in the heel corner. Tajiri tagged in and kicked Conway hard. Tajiri got doubled on, and the crowd chanted "USA" for him. Rhyno hot tagged and cleaned house. He put Grenier down with a spinebuster, with Conway making the save. The match sort of got lost for the closing minutes. Tajiri hit Grenier in the balls with the Quebec flagpole. Rhyno gored Grenier, but Conway put Grenier's boot on the rope to stop the count. Grenier then hit Rhyno with the flagpole and scored the pin, even though the ref should have seen Grenier tossing the flag away after the blow. Basically, a standard match.

TRIPLE H defeated RANDY ORTON to capture the RAW World Title in 24:43. HHH shoved Orton. Orton slapped him twice. They brawled with fists. Orton hit a backdrop and sent HHH crashing out to the floor. HHH returned and was caught with some uppercuts. HHH hit a chop block, posted Orton, and went after Orton's left knee. HHH worked the knee over for a few minutes in the methodical, old school style. Orton rallied but HHH put him down with a facebuster for a near fall. HHH hooked the figure four. He held it for a long time, with the idea being to put over Orton's toughness, as he didn't submit despite his injured knee. HHH was eventually caught using the ropes for leverage and forced to break the hold. Orton blocked a second attempt by HHH to hook the figure four and sent him careening into the post. HHH juiced. Orton scored twos with a dropkick and a DDT. They traded sleepers. Orton, despite his knee pain, went to the top and hit a high crossbody for a near fall. On the floor, Orton sent HHH into the stairs. Back in the ring, Orton scored a near fall with a neckbreaker. Orton went for the RKO. HHH blocked it and referee Earl Hebner took a bump. HHH went for the pedigree. Orton blocked it and hit the RKO, but of course there was no ref. Flair ran in, with Orton disposing of him. Ditto for Batista. HHH caught Orton with a low blow and Coach ran in wearing a ref shirt to make the count, but Orton kicked out at two. Orton punched Coach. Batista gave Orton a spinebuster. HHH covered him and Coach counted but again it was only two. Orton backdropped HHH and gave Coach an RKO. Flair came in with a chair but Orton RKO'd him. Orton then gave Batista a low blow. HHH, however, caught Orton with a chairshot and then pedigreed him on the chair. Batista revived Hebner and rolled him in to make the count for the title change. I thought this match was okay. It was solid, but slow paced and had little heat until the end, when there was way too much interference. They really rushed into this entire HHH-Orton deal, and this match seemed to take some of the steam out of what strength it had. An okay match, but disappointing as a main event

2006 - Ohio Valley Wrestling booker Greg Gagne was dropped by WWE from their developmental system. The former AWA star had been hired as a WWE agent shortly after Wrestlemania 22 in Chicago and was then moved to OVW as booker, replacing Paul Heyman.

2006 - WWE signed former WCW star Brad Armstrong for the ECW brand, where he appeared as an announcer.  Armstrong also did some wrestling on house shows with younger talents to help their grooming process as performers.

2006 - The following sad note was posted on the official website for original ECW music guru Harry Slash, www.Slashtones.com yesterday..."Harry Slash & The Slashtones' ECW collaborator Eddie Sperry passed away last weekend in Thailand. The cause of death is not yet known. Eddie Sperry had worked wih Harry Slash on the mastering of the ECW songs "Path Of Rage," "Total Elimination", "Simply Ravishing", "Huka Blues", "Survive! (If I Let you.)", the themes of Taz, The Eliminators, Rick Rude, Sabu and Taz (his 2nd theme) and also worked on the first version of the ECW theme "This Is Extreme!". Eddie also co-produced the ECW themes for Super Crazy ("El Guererro Nomad") and Tommy Dreamer ("Innovation / Man In A Box"). Eddie worked with Harry Slash on various other projects away from ECW including the Joe Lynn Turner / Arno Hecht / Reckless Fortune version of "The Rain" for the Versailles Records' 2001 tribute to The Cult. Sperry's body of work included numerous film scores and soundtracks as well as recordings with Debbie Harry, Mark Ribot, Rob Thomas, Moby and many othes. He also recorded several albums with his own bands, Screed and Hookfoot. Our condolences go out to the entire Sperry family."

2006 - WWE broadcast ECW on SciFi from Madison Square Garden, the first time ECW was ever held in the venue.  Richard Trionfo filed the following report:

When ECW was in its hey day in the 1990s, nobody probably ever expected that the company would do a show in Madison Square Garden, but it has finally happened. What will we see when the Mecca of Professional Wrestling goes extreme? Will Sabu finally get the ECW Heavyweight Title as he faces the Big Show in his first match in Madison Square Garden? What is next in the CM Punk/Shannon Moore feud? Will Sandman get his hands on Matt Striker?

We are live on tape from New York, New York and your announcers are Joey Styles and Tazz.

Paul Heyman and his security detail come to the ring as the show begins and Paul has something to say. He says that the prodigal son, the messiah, the savior of the wrestling industry has arrived in the hallowed halls of Madison Square Garden. He asks the fans if they realize that they are part of history tonight. They have come together in the world's most famous arena and are part of a history making moment. Finally, after all of the years, hard work, sacrifice, and dedication; his ECW flag flies high in Madison Square Garden. To a New York boy growing up, this is the center of the universe, the great synagogue, the ultimate temple, the great church, the grand cathedral. There is no other place to a kid from New York like Madison Square Garden. With all humility, he wants to thank himself for this achievement. Paul wonders who else he was supposed to thank. Five years ago, they were the reason why ECW went out of business. He listened to the fans who wanted more Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Sandman, and Tommy Dreamer. He tells the fans "screw you." He listened to himself because he knows better than the fans. He made compromises with Vince McMahon. He took ECW to a global platform and here were are "…from the bingo hall to the Garden" For that, he tells his children "You're Welcome" for his hard work and his ingenuity. This is his concept. Tonight, his ECW grows even larger when the Big Show comes down the aisle.

Heyman is interrupted by Sabu, and Paul tells him that if he makes one more step to the ring, he will pin him in the middle, just like he did two weeks ago. Sabu hits the security detail with the chair and he takes down Heyman, but they return to the ring and grab Sabu. Sabu hits them with the chair again and then he gives one of the members of the security detail an Arabian facebuster.

Heyman tells Sabu that he nearly stepped in it, and he will pay the price in a giant way. Tonight's match will be an Extreme Rules Match. Sabu with a springboard clothesline onto the security detail and then he returns to the ring as we go to commercial.

Match Number One: Rob Van Dam versus Bob Holly

Van Dam fights back with elbows and punches but Holly with a drop kick for a two count. Van Dam sets up for the Five Star Frog Splash, but Stevie Richards, Mike Knox, and Test come to the ring. Van Dam hits a side kick from the top turnbuckle on Richards and then he hits a spinning heel kick on Knox. Test hits a full nelson slam and the referee calls for the bell.

Sandman canes Richards and then Dreamer with a DDT. While Test, Knox, and Holly leave the ring, Van Dam goes up top for a Five Star Frog Splash.

Joey Styles says that the evening will get more extreme, and Tazz talks about the title match. We see Sandman and Dreamer celebrating in the ring with a few cold drinks.

We see footage of Sabu versus Big Show from three weeks ago when Sabu got disqualified because it was not an Extreme Rules match. Styles points out that tonight;s match is an Extreme Rules Match. We go to commercial.

We are back and before our next match, we see footage from last week when CM Punk called Shannon Moore a poseur and slapped him.

Match Number Two: CM Punk versus Shannon Moore

Moore gets in Punk's face and he slaps Punk followed by punches and an elbow. Moore with more punches and then he gets on the second turnbuckle and tries for a tornado DDT, but Punk tosses him off on the attempt. We are back and the FBI are in the back congratulating CM Punk on his victory. Kelly stops by and she wanted to congratulate CM Punk on his Madison Square Garden debut. Kelly tells Punk that she is a really big fan of his and since she is an exhibitionist, she would love to go to one of those wild, crazy nightclubs. Unfortunately, she is only nineteen years old. She says that they cannot really go out, but they can stay in. Mike Knox stops by and he takes Kelly with him.

Kevin Thorn and Ariel come to ringside and join Tazz and Styles at the announce position.

Match Number Three: Rene Dupree versus Balls Mahoney

Dupree attacks Mahoney as he enters the ring and then he punches and kicks Mahoney. Mahoney blocks Dupree's attempt to slam Mahoney into the turnbuckle and Mahoney responds with punches and an Irish whip but he charges into the corner and Dupree moves out of the way. Dupree kicks Mahoney and he follows that with a springboard elbow and a kick to the back for a two count. Mahoney punches Dupree but Dupree throws Mahoney to the mat. Dupree slaps Mahoney but Mahoney punches Dupree and then he hits a sit out spinebuster for a two count. Mahoney with jabs followed by an uppercut. Mahoney with a spinning heel kick that sends both men over the top rope to the floor. Thorn approaches Mahoney and Balls punches Thorne. Mahoney gets a chair but the referee takes it. Dupree distracts the referee and that allows Thorn to hit Mahoney with his cane and Balls hits the ring steps. Dupree rolls Mahoney back into the ring for the three count. We go to commercial.
Winner: Rene Dupree

We are back with Matt Striker and he reminds us that he is a New York City teacher. For the past few weeks, he has been teaching Sandman some valuable lessons. He says that he is concerned about the amount of "giggle water" that the fans have been consuming while enjoying the proclivity of the Sandman's pugilistic endeavors; or as the fans would say it, enjoy drinking beer while the Sandman beats people up with a Singapore Cane. If he looked at Sandman's permanent record, he is sure that it would be littered with examples of truculent, trepidatious, trench mouthed truancy. Striker tells everyone if they don't know what those words mean, they should look them up. Striker mentions that he saw earlier tonight when Sandman corralled some of his cronies for some extreme violence. Striker says that a man is judged by the company that he keeps, and he says that he keeps some interesting and intelligent company. You can drink beer with the Sandman, or come to class and learn from Matt Striker.

Styles reminds everyone that Matt Striker was banned by the New York Board of Education. Tazz and Joey talk about how regardless of the result of the match tonight against Sabu; he will be part of the Hell in a Cell match at Unforgiven. We see footage from last night's Raw when Big Show attacked Shawn Michaels.

Before our main event, we see footage from Sabu's attack on Paul Heyman and his security detail at the start of the show.

Match Number Four: Big Show versus Sabu for the ECW Title in an Extreme Rules Match
Before the bell rings, Sabu brings out two tables and sets them up outside the ring as we go to commercial.

We are back and Sabu has a chair and he tosses it at Show, but Show just swats it away. Show throws Sabu to the mat. Sabu with a waist lock but Show uses his rear end to get Sabu to release the hold. Show with a chop in the corner followed by a head butt. Show throws Sabu out of the ring and Heyman's security detail attack Sabu on the floor. Show with more head butts to Sabu and then he picks up the chair and Show destroys it. Sabu punches Show but Show responds with a clothesline when Sabu comes off the ropes but Show only gets a two count. Show punches Sabu while the fans show Big Show their disapproval with his performance. Show steps on Sabu's chest. Sabu with a low kick to Show and then Sabu gets a chair and he throws it at Show's head twice and then he hits a drop kick to Show's knee. Sabu with a camel clutch on Show, but Show is too big and Show turns it into a side slam. Show tries for a big boot but Sabu moves out of the way and Show crotches himself on the top rope. Sabu hits a side kick and Show goes over the top rope to the floor. Show returns to the ring and he head butts Sabu. Show tells the security detail to bring him a table and Show sets it up. Sabu gets a chair but Show still grabs Sabu and he tries to choke slam Show through the table, but Sabu counters with a DDT through the table, but Sabu can only get a two count. Sabu hits Show in the back with the chair and then he hits Show in the head with the chair. Sabu is thrown back into the ring and Show with the cobra clutch back breaker and the step over leg drop for the three count.

Winner: Big Show

2007 - Former WCW and WWE star Bill DeMott posted a blog entry at www.myspace.com/billdemott, noting that he was intending to retire at the end of 2007 as he's contacted both WWE and TNA and neither have shown interest in him working for their companies.  DeMott noted that he would still be doing training seminars and that we can add him to the list of guys working on a book about the business. DeMott's book "The Last Laugh" was published in 2011 and he eventually returned to WWE working as a trainer for the revived Tough Enough before signing on as a talent scout and taking over as Head Trainer for WWE developmental.

2007 - Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. who was forming his own Mixed Martial Arts promotion at the time, mentioned a potential partnership with World Wrestling Entertainment during an interview with MMAWeekly.com.  Cuban noted, "We've been in discussions with the WWE, Vince and Linda McMahon and Shane about doing some cross promotions under the HDNet Fights banner.  Since they do a great job of putting together events, within some of the restraints that I talked about, the no ring girls and obviously the events have to be straight up, there's no scripted anything, but they want to get into that side of the business. They realize that if they just brand it as WWE, that people aren't going to believe that it's not scripted, but if they work with Mark Cuban and HDNet Fights and the Dallas Mavericks approach, then people will trust it."  In the end, WWE and Cuban never worked together on any MMA venture.

2008 - WWE broadcast Smackdown.  Taylor Millard filed the following TV report:

Welcome to PWInsider.com’s coverage Smackdown coming from the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The show begins with a recap of the Scramble match from Unforgiven, showing the various changes in the WWE title before the King of Kings, Champion of Champions, husband of Stephanie, won the match and retained his title.

Speaking of the King of Kings…out he comes. Jim Ross and the Tazz welcome us to the show and mention a number one contender’s match between Jeff Hardy, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and The Brian Kendrick. JR talks about Triple H retaining his title with one second left (Tazz saying the title changed hands seven times during the scramble match). JR says he’d love to see the scramble concept again (thanks Vince). Triple H says everyone should go see Unforgiven, buy the DVD (saying he gets good residuals), but says “It’s awesome” and a great night. Talks about how CM Punk got “punked out” by Randy Orton, says Matt Hardy won the big one. But only one man walked in and out with his title. That, of course, is him…The GAME! Says it’s a “sure thing” if his name is on the card. Puts over the scramble match again but…

Out comes Jeff Hardy with a mic. Hardy congratulates Triple H (calling him “the man”) and says he truly is the King of Kings. Says everyone in the locker room looks up and respects him. He sucks up more and Triple H says he appreciates it, but then reciprocates. Says he respects and admires Hardy’s desire and passion for the business. Triple H says he respects Hardy for reaching up for the brass ring, but he’s always one second away. Hardy says he may always be one step away, but maybe he just never has the right people to push him along. Talks about the Kliq, DX, and the family Triple H has (Hi Steph!). Hardy says if he had all that, he might be WWE champion. Triple H reminds him about Hardy’s brother Matt. Says people thought Hardy was better than Matt, but Matt is now the ECW champion and Jeff isn’t. Triple H says Hardy had Matt to keep him on the straight and narrow and focused. Talks about Hardy’s extracurricular activities and Triple H says he doesn’t want to get into some argument about it, but the truth is, he does respect Hardy and everything he’s done. Puts over the fatal four way match tonight between Hardy, Benjamin, MVP, and Kendrick. Hardy says he’ll win and Triple H says if you get to No Mercy, Hardy will prove he can’t do it. As Motorhead plays over the loudspeakers, the King of Kings gives a look at the Charismatic Enigma and leaves. And we head to commercial.

Back from commercial and I’m still shocked Kansas got only NINE yards against USF in the third quarter. It’s also time for the Vince McMahon/Kevin Dunn.…anyway.

Out comes Maryse with Victoria and Natalya Neidhart (to Maryse’s music). Tazz says he has no complaints with the trio. Out next is Michelle McCool, Maria, and Brie Bella and JR says, “Here comes the lovely opposition”.

Match One: Maryse, Victoria, and Natalya Neidhart vs. Michelle McCool, Maria, and Brie Bella:

Maria is wearing some interesting ring attire and McCool and Natalya start out the match. McCool gets a roll up but only for one. Another cover but only one. Maria tags in and gets a one count.  Brie Bella then tags in and keeps working on Natalya. Natalya finally with an offensive move and Bella is down. Maryse tags in and is called Pat Patterson’s favorite diva. Maryse with forearms to the back of the head, then tags in Victoria. Victoria in control, but Brie climbs underneath the ring.  Victoria drags a Bella back out, but the Bella (supposedly Brie) gets a roll up and the win. Winner: Michelle McCool, Maria, and a Bella Twin.

JR says at some point we’ll find out why the Big Show attacked the Undertaker at Unforgiven.

Back from commercial and it’s time for the WWE Slam of the Week, focusing on R-Truth’s victory against Bam Neely. After that’s over, R-Truth makes his way through the crowd rapping towards the ring. He is getting a “What’s up” reaction. Truth also dances in the ring.

Out next is someone who gets boos: Chavo Guerrero with Bam Neely. JR talks about Truth’s past and says he hopes he makes it big in WWE.

Match Two: R-Truth vs. Chavo Guerrero (with Bam Neely):

Truth asks the crowd, “What’s up” before locking up with Chavo. JR and Tazz put over the scramble matches again, as Chavo and Truth exchange arm locks. Truth with an arm drag takeover, but Chavo with a hard spin kick. Chavo gets two, and then connects with an uppercut. Truth with punches to the gut, but Chavo counters. Truth with two clotheslines and a reverse elbow to Chavo’s sternum. A bicycle kick by Truth, but Chavo counters with the Three Amigos.  Chavo goes for the frogsplash but Truth counters. Neely pulls Truth off the turnbuckle and Chavo takes a disqualification. Winner by disqualification: R-Truth.

After the match Chavo and Neely argue about the Neely’s involvement with Chavo saying Neely works for him. Neely shoves Chavo to the ground but takes an axe-kick from R-Truth. Truth then gives Chavo a 364 and heads up the ramp.

Backstage, Shelton Benjamin is talking to Eve Torres but Triple H interrupts. Triple H says he doesn’t know why he’s competing in the fatal four way because Benjamin didn’t get pinned at Unforgiven. Triple H says Jeff Hardy is pretty intent on winning and Benjamin says he doesn’t reach for brass rings but for Triple H’s gold title. We go to commercial.

Back from commercial and JR says Wrestlemania will be shown on broadcast TV on the first week of October. He also puts over Smackdown’s “All-Star Extravaganza” that same week.

Meanwhile, Jesse and Festus (dressed as movers) are headed out to the ring. Festus gets in the ring and out next is Kenny Dykstra, who says he could be an all-star in any professional sport. Dykstra says he’s a 22-year-old stud, with no respect. He wonders what he has to do to get noticed. Says he’s taking the garbage out and attacks Festus. Jesse gets involved before the match starts then rings the bell.

Match Three: Festus (with Jesse) vs. Kenny Dykstra:

Festus with attacks on Kenny (don’t call me Lenny) Dykstra, leaving him rattled. Jesse gets back in the ring and the two duct tape Kenny up and place him on the dolly. JR asks where Kenny’s getting moved to and we go to commercial.

Back from commercial and Kenny is demanding someone in the back come help him. Kenny is wrapped up in bubble wrap and Jesse tapes up Kenny’s mouth. The two roll him up the ramp and disappear. Result: No Contest.

JR says Big Show and Vickie Guerrero will be out next. A recap of Vickie and Big Show’s attack on the Undertaker is shown.

Justin Roberts asks everyone to welcome Vickie Guerrero to the ring. Tazz says he’s still shocked what happened at Unforgiven with Vickie spitting on the Undertaker and JR wonders if answers will be given. Vickie says, “Excuse me” (which of course the crowd doesn’t). Looking rather smug, Vickie says the Undertaker made threats towards her before Unforgiven. But he failed and Smackdown’s GM says she spit in his face. She then introduces the man who helped her, the Big Show.

As Show comes out to the ring, JR and Tazz say they still can’t believe the Big Show’s power. Big Show says he was approached by Vickie for help after her family abandoned her. He thought about it and wondered what Undertaker was thinking, threatening the GM. Show says everyone has to follow the rules and the Undertaker thinks he’s above all that. Show says he knows what’s best for Smackdown and what’s best for all of us. He says he has a good thing with Vickie and that they’re a true power couple. He says the arrangement is strictly business and the two can help each other. He says Vickie wants an apology from the Undertaker (and if she gets it, Show gets a chance at the title). Show and Vickie exit the ring. JR and Tazz put over the main event with the fatal four way and we head to commercial.

Back from commercial with a promo for next week’s RAW between CM Punk and Chris Jericho in a steel cage match for the World Heavyweight Championship. In the ring are Funaki and Scotty Goldman, as Vladimir Kozlov head towards the ring.

Match Four: Funaki and Scotty Goldman vs. Vladimir Kozlov:

Kozlov (who is undefeated) beats up both men dropping Goldman on the ring posts and kicking him. Kozlov gives Goldman the “Head Butt of Doom” but pins Funaki for the win. Winner: Vladimir Kozlov

After the match, Kozlov demands tougher competition and better challenges. Kozlov says if no one gives him challenges, he’ll find one for himself. A recap of the ending of the match is shown, as Kozlov heads up the ramp.

Backstage, Triple H looks over Ezekiel Jackson’s shoulder and the two go nose to nose. The Brian Kendrick asks Hunter if he can help him. Triple H wishes him best of luck in the match tonight and Kendrick says he should be number one contender anyway because he was the longest reigning champ in the scramble match. Triple H says Kendrick was the biggest loser in the match and walks off. Tazz and JR talk about the fatal four way and we head off to commercial.

Back from commercial and JR thanks Motorhead for providing the sounds of Unforgiven.  Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins are headed out next and Tazz says they’re too cool to hang out with. Out next are their opponents, Carlito (with afro) and Primo Colon. The inset box shows the two saying Smackdown will never be the same and that it’s cool the two are together.

Match Five: Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins vs. Carlito and Primo Colon:

Carlito and Ryder start off the match and JR asks Tazz what he’s look life if he had hair like Carlito. Carlito with a neck breaker and gets a one count. Primo tags himself in and gets a spring board dropkick. Carlito is tagged in and power bombs Primo onto Ryder. Ryder gets the advantage on Carlito and tags in Curt Hawkins. JR says if the two stay together, Hawkins and Ryder could be really good. Ryder tags back in and after a quick cover, gets a two count. The former Edgeheads keep Carlito contained in their corner, while Primo tries to get Carlito to his corner. Ryder gets another cover but Carlito kicks out. Ryder with a backslide and Hawkins steps on Carlito’s chin. JR says the two are trying to dispel any possibility of Primo and Carlito challenging for the titles. Carlito continue to be dominated, but keeps kicking out. Tazz praises Primo for keeping his cool while he’s stuck on the outside. Carlito fights his way to his feet and tags in his brother. Primo starts unloading on Hawkins and knocks Ryder to the outside. Primo gets a two count, but Ryder breaks up the cover. Carlito with The Backstabber and the brothers win. Winner by pinball: Carlito and Primo Colon.

The two hug in the ring and JR says he can’t believe the Colons have defeated the tag team champions.

MVP through the back and Triple H wonders where he’s headed. After MVP tells Triple H he’s headed out for his match, Triple H wonders why he’s in the fatal four way. Triple H says MVP got pinned several times in the match and MVP says he’s in the match because he’s going to take his title from him. Triple H says, “Hope you don’t choke” and we go to commercial.

Back from commercial and JR says we’re moments away from our main event. The WWE 24/7 Classics on Demand moment is Ric Flair’s victory over Harley Race in 1983. Tazz says JR has to be pumped this month is Forever Flair month on 24/7.

MVP is the first man out towards the ring for the fatal four way match. JR says the King of Bling is looking to make his way into the main event of No Mercy to face the King of Kings. Tazz talks about the comments Triple H had for all the men in the match.

Shelton Benjamin gives a promo on the Titantron saying everyone to realize why he’s the Gold Standard and will win the match. JR puts over Benjamin’s athletic ability and his resume. Tazz says Benjamin has an opportunity to get a shot at the WWE title.

Out next is The Brian Kendrick with Ezekiel Jackson. JR says Big Zeke will be at ringside of tonight’s match, which can’t be good for the other opponents. We go to commercial.

Back from commercial and JR reminds us Wrestlemania will be shown on broadcast TV on October 3rd. Out next is Jeff Hardy and the fatal four way is ready to begin.

Match Six: Jeff Hardy vs. The Brian Kendrick vs. MVP vs. Shelton Benjamin for the Number One contendership to the WWE Title:

The bell rings and Kendrick quickly gets out of the ring. Hardy with punches to both MVP and Benjamin and Tazz says it’s best to get momentum in the match. MVP breaks up a roll up by Hardy and Benjamin and MVP work over Hardy. Both Benjamin and MVP face off for the right to cover Hardy but decide to go after each other. Meanwhile, Kendrick slips into the ring to cover Hardy but Benjamin breaks it up. MVP then attacks the Gold Standard and goes after Hardy again. Kendrick tries for The Kendrick on Benjamin but is stopped by MVP, who then uses Kendrick’s feet to knock down Benjamin. Benjamin gets back up and gives Kendrick a T-bone suplex. But Hardy nails a Whisper in the Wind on Benjamin for a two count. We head off to commercial.

Back from commercial and Hardy is shown getting thrown out of the ring (his knee glancing off of the steel steps). MVP with a cover on Shelton Benjamin but gets only a two count. Tazz says The Brian Kendrick is waiting for his spot to catch a pin or break one up. According to Tazz, that’s good strategy. Kendrick nails Benjamin with a dropkick then nails another one. Kendrick with a two count then puts Benjamin in the Camel Clutch. Big Zeke nails Hardy on the outside, leaving him out by the security wall. Benjamin fights his way out of the Camel Clutch, but Kendrick keeps a submission hold locked in. Benjamin finally counters out of the submission maneuver and goes for a cover (but only gets two).  MVP with a low dropkick into Benjamin and the two start exchanging punches.  MVP gets a two count on Benjamin, and then locks in a neck vise. Jeff Hardy slides back in the ring but gets tumped out again. Benjamin with a belly-to-back suplex but only gets two. Kendrick nails Hardy with a kick and he is out.  Benjamin and MVP exchange covers, but Kendrick comes in and tries to steal one. MVP tries to get a cover on Kendrick but he fights out.  Benjamin throws Hardy out of the ring and gets a cover on MVP for a two count. Benjamin goes for a cross arm breaker, as Hardy takes out Kendrick. Hardy attacks both MVP and Benjamin then covers Benjamin for two.  Hardy goes for a two count, but MVP pulls Benjamin out. Great sequence where MVP has Hardy held for Kendrick to punch him but instead, releases Hardy and nails Kendrick. Benjamin throws Hardy thrown out of the ring again. MVP goes for the Drive-By Kick but Benjamin nails Paydirt. Kendrick nails The Kendrick on Benjamin, but Hardy with a swanton bomb and pins Kendrick for the win. Winner by pinfall and new Number One Contender: Jeff Hardy.

Suddenly, Vladimir Kozlov strides out to the ring and faces off against Hardy.  Kozlov gives Hardy the Head Butt of Doom, then attacks Hardy’s sternum. Kozlov leaves Hardy lying in the ring and JR and Tazz recap the end of the match and Kozlov’s attack.

Tazz says Kozlov was waiting in the wings for attention and we go to credits.

2009 - The WWE legal department, among others, took issue with the advertising for the September 12 Georgia Old School Wrestling show in Barnesville, due to local advertising listing Batista and Warrior on the card.

According to Bill Bailey, the Program Director of FUN101.1FM in Thomaston, the station received a call Lauren A. Dienes-Middlen, WWE Vice President of Intellectual Property concerning guest appearances on their station by the promoter of the show, Big Steel (Joey Roberts). Bailey said he informed Dienes-Middlen that 101.1FM's role was limited to having the promoter for a series of guest spots, and he had no way of knowing the authenticity of the talent being advertised.

Bailey said he gave Steel (Joey Roberts) the phone number of Dienes-Middlen and advised him to make contact with her.

The station proceeded with the final pre-show interview on the morning of September 11, this one featuring the wrestler known as One Warrior Nation along with Steel. During the interview, One Warrior Nation made it crystal clear that he was not Warrior (known as "Ultimate Warrior" Jim Hellwig prior to the legal name change), although Steel continued to refer to him as "the Warrior".

It was apparent to Bailey that One Warrior Nation had no idea he had been advertised as Warrior.

Bailey said he also received a call from a person identifying himself as Warrior, who made it clear that he was not the person appearing in Barnesville. GWH has obtained a copy of an email from Warrior verifying that he did call the station.

In addition, the poster for the event listed Steel and Batista (Carolina wrestler Jay Batista, later changed to "The Beast" in the online poster) as the new Carolina NWA Tag Team Champions. GOSW did not obtain permission from Bill Behrens, the NWA member for Georgia, to use the NWA brand and no such title exists according to the current list of NWA champions.

2010 - WWE Smackdown star Matt Hardy was sent home from a WWE tour of Europe today, sources within WWE confirmed to PWInsider.com.  There was concern about Hardy's condition that manifested themselves backstage at an event on the tour yesterday.  Those issues followed an incident at the previous week's house show in White Plains, New York where Hardy was scheduled to team with R-Truth against CM Punk and Luke Gallows. Sources indicate there was concern about Hardy's condition at that event as well. Hardy was said to have left the show after officials spoke to him and never returned, not working the house show.  Hardy was eventually released from the company and would sign with TNA before being released there in August 2011 following a DUI arrest.

2011 - WWE broadcast Raw.  Richard Trionfo filed the following TV report:

We are live on tape from Kanata, Ontario, Canada and your announcers are Michael ‘Are you sure we aren’t in Ottawa’ Cole, Jim ‘Even with three downs, it is still football’ Ross, and Jerry ‘Tim Horton’s or bust’ Lawler.

We start off tonight’s super show with a super champion in the super ring with his super ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez. He asks if it is going to be like this where the people are going to boo him. He says that it is okay because he can take that. He cannot take being disrespect. Ricardo starts to yell at the crowd but Del Rio takes the mic away. He says that last week John Cena hit him with an AA and the WWE Universe made fun of him. Alberto reminds us that he is the Undisputed WWE Champion and no one makes fun of him.

Alberto reminds us that he took care of Rey Mysterio and he retired somebody and he reminds us that it was Edge. Alberto says that he forced Edge to retire. He beat CM Punk at SummerSlam and he is going to teach John Cena a lesson at Night of Champions. Alberto tells everyone to stop making fun of us. He reminds us who he is and that he is the Undisputed WWE Champion. He says that he is the greatest of the great.

Since we are North of the Border, if someone is called great, that means that Bret Hart has to come out to the ring.

Bret talks to his amigo in the ring and he says that he didn’t come out here to disrespect him. He wanted to give Alberto some advice and an education. When he looks at Alberto, he sees him wearing the WWE Championship belt, but he sees a man who does not know what it means to be the World Champion.

Alberto reminds Bret that he destroyed Rey Mysterio and Edge.

Bret says that you don’t call yourself a champion when you beat up a crippled wrestler. He says that Alberto is all style and no substance. He tells Alberto to be a champion and a man with pride. A man who fights all challengers day in and day out. That is how you become the World Champion and the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.

Alberto asks Bret if he wants to make fun of him. Why not have a former champion who looks like a bum with the 1994 jacket and greasy hair. He says that Bret looks like one of those illegal Canadians he hires to clean his house. Alberto says that he is the best there is. He is the WWE Champion. Tonight, he will make an example of Bret.

Alberto better make that example quick because John Cena’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring, but he takes his time coming to the ring to help Bret.

Cena welcomes everyone for the welcome and he says that he disagrees with Alberto. He says that he doesn’t see what Alberto described about Bret. He sees a WWE Hall of Famer. Cena says that he has no visible proof but it appears that Alberto has grown a set of jalapenos. He says that after a month of running away like a coward he stays in the ring. Cena tells Alberto to leave in his car and go back to Mexico and party like there’s no tomorrow. Cena says that Alberto is the WWE Champion for six more days.

Cena says that he has told everyone but he will tell Alberto to his face that he will beat him at Night of Champions.

Alberto says that they should give the fans what they want. Cena says that if he wants to fight, let’s do it now. Alberto asks Cena if he has the cajones to see John Cena face Ricardo Rodriguez.

Rodriguez drops Alberto’s scarf to surrender. Alberto says that Ricardo wants to make Cena pay for what he did a few weeks ago.

Cena says that he did not expect to see Alberto throw Ricardo in his way. If Alberto wants to make a special match for tonight, Cena suggests that we have a match with Alberto Del Rio defending the title against Bret Hart tonight.

John Laurinaitis interrupts and he reminds us who he is even though John Cena said it a few seconds earlier. John says that we give everyone the match that they want to see. Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez versus John Cena and Bret Hart.

We go to commercial.

We go to commercial, but there is going to be a confrontation between Triple H and CM Punk.

We are back with the WWE Rewind: Triple H firing Kevin Nash last week.

It is time for our main event and it will involve talking. Out first is Triple H and he is dressed in his COO suit. Out next is CM Punk and he is in his I am trying to get rid of the COO wrestling gear.

The fans appear to be fans of Punk over Hunter.

Punk speaks first and he says that he is fascinated that the entire world is watching and they are wondering what each of them are going to say. Punk says that he will start and he says that he respects Hunter for doing what needed to be done last week by firing the charisma vacuum and ratings killer Kevin Nash. Just because he respects Hunter, it doesn’t mean that he likes him.

Punk says that he knows that Hunter never liked him because he heard from people what Hunter would say behind his back. Punk says that he can see Hunter’s skin crawling whenever they are in the ring. Punk says that Hunter called him a pompous undersized internet darling who couldn’t last in the ring with Triple H.

Hunter says that it has changed a little and Punk says that is the problem.

The fact that the perception has changed a little bit, it isn’t enough. It is just like little has changed since he got rid of Vince as COO. He says that Hunter is just like Vince. He lets everything pass him by while he stands still. He says that Hunter has the belief that someone like him doesn’t belong in the ring with Triple H. He also talks about the bodybuilder fantasy that him and Vince have so the people who share this image are afforded ten times the benefits.

Hunter mentions Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, Bret Hart, Rey Mysterio. He says that they are biggest WWE stars and he says that they wouldn’t be considered bodybuilders. Hunter asks Punk if he is going to use that excuse and Punk says that he isn’t.

Hunter tells Punk that if he wants to use that as an excuse for his failures then he can go ahead. Punk laughs at the thought of ‘failures’.

Hunter says that Punk is worried about his opinion because his opinion doesn’t matter. It is the opinions of the fans that matters. Punk asks Hunter if he is listening.

Hunter says that it is the first six years when he didn’t get this reaction and he felt that he was being held back. If Punk wants to be a star, he needs to get over with the people. When you get them on your side, they will come in droves to see you and when they do, you will get what you want. Punk won’t have to call to beg and plead to be on the cup at 7-Eleven. They will call and ask for Punk to be on the cups.

Punk asks Hunter if they are really listening because Punk wants to know where his ice cream bars are. Punk says that he doesn’t want to hear the ‘brass ring’ speech. He remembers his first brass ring speech in 2006 when he was getting ready for his first pay per view at the Survivor Series when he was on a team captained by Degeneration X. The fans in Philadelphia weren’t chanting DX, Shawn Michaels, or Triple H, they were chanting CM Punk. Punk says that he grabbed that ring and he went nowhere. He does not play games and he would rather be hated for what he is than loved for something that he is not.

Hunter says that it is mighty heroic of him to say that he isn’t given opportunities. Hunter mentions the multiple World Championships, Money in the Banks, main events of pay per views. Maybe Punk should look in the mirror and think that he isn’t the best in the world.

Hunter brings up the story when John Cena came up to Punk when he won his first World Title. He says that Cena is guy who came from nothing to become the biggest star in this industry. Some people love him and some people hate him, but he sells out arenas all over the world. He did it on his own. He did it by winning them over. He says that people ask him his opinion and he tells the truth. Some times he is right and some times he is wrong.

Hunter says that he looks at a guy and thinks that he will be the best thing in the business and he turns out to be nothing. Then he sees a guy who he thinks won’t amount to anything and he becomes John Cena. He says that he needs to win the fans over.

Punk asks Hunter if he is really listening to this audience. He says that he doesn’t have to win these people over. Last year they weren’t cheering his name. Punk just started to get these people and he shouldn’t play the martyr over the last six years.

Punk says that he wasn’t given anything and he busted his ass to get everything. Hunter tells Punk that you leave everything in the ring to earn it because you are given nothing.

Hunter says that it might be Punk’s warped internet philosophy. This isn’t about business, this is personal. Hunter says that he tried to keep it business. They will go into the ring together and Punk will be facing a man that he insulted and a man who will kick Punk’s ass.

Punk says that they can add that chestnut to what Hunter is wrong about. Punk says that he is the best in the world. Hunter will kick his ass but Punk will kick his ass and he will pin Hunter in the center of the ring. His quest for change in the WWE will not stop until Hunter is no longer COO.

Punk says that this isn’t Punk talking to Triple H, this is Phil Brooks talking to Paul Levesque.

Punk’s mic is cut off and Hunter tells Punk to tell him to his face and he doesn’t care if anyone hears it.

Punk gets Hunter’s mic and it goes out too.

Hunter wants to know what is going on and he gets another mic. He gives it to Punk and then he hits Hunter in the head with the mic and he leaves the ring.

We go to credits.

2012 - ECW documentary "Barbed Wire City" was funded by fans completely via Kickstarter.  The film was released in April 2013 via DVD to great acclaim.

2013 - TNA broadcast a "No Surrender 2014" branded-edition of Impact Wrestling.  Stu Carapola filed the following TV report:

elcome to the Impact Wrestling Report, as TNA presents this year's No Surrender event live on SpikeTV!

The show opens with a terrific video package looking at the final four in this year's Bound For Glory Series and what it took for them to get to this stage of the tournament. It puts over how much tonight means to each man's quest to become the TNA World Champion, then the video package turns to tonight's TNA World Title match between Bully Ray and his Vice President, Ken Anderson. We look at the build of the dissension between the two men and the breaking point last week when Anderson refused to save Bubba from Sting's Scorpion Deathlock.

We then go to the arena where Bully Ray comes out to the ring with Brooke Tessmacher on his arm and the TNA World Title belt over his shoulder. Bubba says that he is in a very bad mood and it's in everybody's best interests to not piss him off. Things haven't been going great in his family lately since he and his Vice President haven't been on the same page, but he's willing to forgive Anderson since the cause of all their problems has been "that piece of crap" Hulk Hogan. The fans start chanting for Hogan, and almost as if on cue, Hogan's music hits and he comes out to make fun of Bubba for whining and crying. Hogan thanks SpikeTV for making tonight's show free and live in St Louis, Missouri, and he promises that by the end of the night, we'll have our main event for Bound For Glory. But before we get there, Hogan says Bubba needs to worry about defending his title against one of his brothers, BROTHER. Bubba tells Hogan he's the reason there's problems in Aces & Eights and he knows Ken Anderson will do the right thing, but Hogan again says he needs to worry about putting the title on the line against one of his brothers, BROTHER. Bubba says that if he's here, he wants him to come out and tell him face to face, so the Aces & Eights music hits and Ken Anderson comes strolling out of the back. Hogan extends his hand, but Anderson just walks right past him and gets into the ring to face Bubba. Bubba points out how Anderson turned his back on Hogan, and it's because their colors are stronger than Hogan will ever be. Bubba tells Anderson that all he has to do is apologize and this is all over, and Anderson says Bubba is absolutely right because he was out of line...and he can't friggin' wait to get out of line again tonight! Anderson drills Bubba in the face with a right hand, then yells to Bubba as he runs up the ramp that we're going to have a new World Champion and his name is MISTER ANDERSON...ANDERSON. Hogan throws one more log on the fire and announces that the match is now a Last Man Standing Match.

Mike and Taz run through tonight's Bound For Glory Series matches, and then it's time to start the semifinals!

Bound For Glory Series Semifinal: Austin Aries vs AJ Styles

Aries and Styles start off trading wristlocks and headlocks, but Aries catches AJ with a dropkick that sends him rolling out to the floor, then follows right up by taking AJ out with a dive. Aries rolls AJ back into the ring and goes for a missile dropkick, but AJ swats him aside and drills Aries with a pinpoint dropkick of his own. Now AJ tries a dive, but Aries slides back into the ring and AJ lands on the floor. Aries waits for AJ to get back to his feet and goes for a heat seeking missile through the ropes, but AJ nails him coming in with a leaping enziguiri. They unload on each other with chops in the corner, then trade forearms and have knocked each other silly as we go to commercial.

We're back as AJ and Aries are still going toe to toe with forearms shots. Aries goes for a roaring elbow, but AJ clocks him coming in and unloads with a series of strikes. Aries goes for a crucifix bomb, but AJ holds his ground and flips Aries off his back and into an over the knee neckbreaker for 2. AJ goes for the Styles Clash, but Aries gets to the ropes, so AJ dumps him to the apron and drills Aries with an elbow that sends him out to the floor. AJ slingshots over the top rope with a crossbody onto Aries, then rolls him back inside and prepares for a springboard forearm, but Aries sees him coming and shoves him off the ropes, causing AJ to take a nasty spill and basically land on his face on the floor. AJ seems okay as he climbs back up to the ring apron, but Aries knocks AJ back out to the floor and goes for the heat seeking missile again, but AJ springboards off the ropes as Aries charges toward him and drills him with the flying forearm for 2. AJ goes for the Styles Clash again, but Aries counters to a Frankensteiner and goes for the IED, and AJ gets the boot up and catches Aries in the face coming in. Now AJ runs off the ropes and right into a dropkick from Aries, who goes for the brainbuster, AJ escapes, but Aries goes back to the brainbuster and hits it the second time. AJ kicks out at 2, so Aries goes for the Last Chancery. AJ still won't quit, so Aries goes up for the 450 splash, AJ gets up and goes after Aries, but Aries boxes AJ's ears to knock him to the mat and goes for the 450. AJ moves, but Aries lands on his feet and goes for the IED again, and AJ moves and causes Aries to impale himself on the corner. Aries is hanging upside down in the corner, so AJ goes to the second rope and steals the finish from their 2005 match in ROH by hitting a Styles Clash off the second rope for the win.

Winner: AJ Styles

Great match, and though they threw in a couple of spots where it looked like Aries would grab this one, AJ goes to the finals as expected.

We go back to the locker room where Sting is telling Brutus Magnus that they made an exception to the former World Champion rule because they knew he was only two wins away from a shot at becoming a World Champion. Magnus tells Sting that with all due respect, he's tired of being referred to as the future of wrestling. Sting and Joe have taught him so much, and tonight, the future will become now.

We come back from commercial and Bobby Roode is demanding that Magnus come out right now, so it looks like we're not wasting any time getting to our second semifinal!

Bound For Glory Series Semifinal: Bobby Roode vs Brutus Magnus

They start brawling as soon as Magnus enters the ring, and Magnus dominates the action and forces Roode to roll out to the floor to break the momentum. Magnus gets too close to Roode and gets dragged under the bottom rope and rammed into the ring apron. Roode clotheslines Magnus out on the floor and then rolls him back inside and delivers a pair of knees to the gut and a back suplex for 2. Magnus looks like he's added even more muscle mass than he already had, but it doesn't do him much good as he gets choked on the middle rope by Roode. Roode catches Magnus with a flying knee for 2 and then goes to a rear chinlock. Magnus gets out of the chinlock and goes for the Marufuji clothesline, Roode ducks it, but Magnus turns around and rips his head off with another big clothesline. The tide has turned, as Magnus catches Roode coming off the second rope with a crossbody and counters to a Michinoku Driver for 2. Roode goes to the eyes and hits a spinebuster for 2, then he puts Magnus on the top rope and goes for a superplex. Magnus counters to a gourdbuster and comes off the top rope with the elbowdrop, but Roode kicks out at 2. Magnus waits for Roode to get to his feet, Roode rolls him up with a handful of tights, Magnus kicks out at 2 and Roode immediately tries to get him in the Crippler Crossface, but Magnus rolls right out and puts Roode in the Texas Cloverleaf. Roode nearly gets to the ropes, Magnus drags him back out to the middle of the ring and Roode nearly taps, but Roode manages to drag himself back to the ropes to force the break. Roode rolls out to the floor and Magnus goes out after him, but Roode goes right back in and kicks the middle rope into Magnus' ding ding as he comes back inside. Roode goes for the Perfectplex, but Magnus picks a double leg takedown and catches Roode in a jackknife cradle for 3.

Winner: Brutus Magnus

Wow, that is one hell of a final! I really have no idea who is going to win this one, you could make a good case for either guy.

We go backstage where Roode is trashing the backstage area while Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian try to calm him down. Roode says that since Hogan screwed them, it's time for them to screw Hogan, and if he's not going to Bound For Glory, nobody's going to Bound For Glory.

Speaking of Hogan, we go back to the locker room where Hogan is telling TJ Perkins (minus the Manik mask) what a great job he's doing, and TJ says that's why he wants Jeff Hardy in the ring. Hogan starts to tell TJ that Hardy's no walk in the park, but he's got it. Dixie Carter comes into Hogan's locker room and asks TJ to take a hike so she can have a word with Hogan, and says the Bellator attorneys sent TNA a letter to tell them that Rampage Jackson and Tito Ortiz have both been pulled from TNA. Hogan says that's great, he's tired of Tito Ortiz and his drama, and the deal with them is done.

Bully Ray is backstage in the Aces & Eights clubhouse saying that he can't believe how Ken Anderson turned on him, and looking around at the three remaining members of the gang, they look happy over what happened last week and it looks to him like they want Anderson to beat him for the title and become the new President of Aces & Eights. He put the club together for them, and that selfish bastard did nothing. He brought Anderson in and made him one of them, and he asks each of the remaining members if they want Anderson as their new President. None of them answer, so he tells them they don't, they all make him proud because of the way they wear their colors, and he hopes they all feel the same about him.

We take a quick look back at the semifinal matches in the Bound For Glory Series from earlier tonight, then we go to a video package looking at the history of tonight's Bully Ray-Ken Anderson match. We see how Anderson failed Bubba when Chris Sabin beat him for the title, the arguments they got into over Tito Ortiz being inducted into the club, and Anderson leaving Bubba to twist in the wind at the end of last week's show. Now it's time for President vs Vice President for the TNA World Title!

TNA World Title/Last Man Standing Match: Bully Ray vs Ken Anderson

They start brawling in the aisle before the bell, with Anderson getting the advantage and dumping Bubba into the ring where he continues the assault. Anderson rams Bubba hard into the corner and then mounts him to rain down punches to the champion's face. Anderson launches Bubba out to the floor where he lands right in front of Taz, who says he can't help Bubba but tells him to regroup. Anderson goes right back after Bubba, who pulls Christy Hemme in front of him as a shield, but Anderson goes right back after Bubba as soon as Christy is out of the way. Bubba goes to the eyes to slow Anderson down, then drills him with a big right hand and rams him into the ring steps. Bubba tells Brooke to get him a steel chair, then rams Anderson into the steps again and lays him out with a short clothesline. Brooke comes back with the chair, but Anderson gets ahold of it and wallops Bubba over the back with it before hammering him with more right hands. Bubba rolls into the ring to try and escape Anderson, but Anderson comes back in with the chair, punches Bubba in the ding ding when he goes to the second rope, and carries him out of hte corner to hit a Finlay Roll. Anderson rolls back out to the floor and yells "Anderson...GET THE TABLES!" He pulls a table out from under the ring and slides it inside, but he took too long on the floor and eats a big boot from Bubba as he comes back inside. Now Bubba has the chair, nudges the referee out of the way with it, and smashes the chair over Anderson's back. Bubba sets the table up in the corner as we take this very inopportune moment to go to commercial.

We're back, the table is still standing in the corner, and Bubba is smashing the chair over Anderson's back so hard he almost bends it in half. Bubba backs Earl Hebner to the corner and starts yelling at him, but Earl loses his mind and starts yelling back at Bubba, backing him to the middle of the ring. Bubba calmly shoves Earl headfirst into the corner and knocks him out, but turns around and takes the Mic Check into the chair fro a revived Ken Anderson. Anderson waits around until it becomes clear that Hebner isn't conscious yet, and he tries to pick Bubba up but finds himself in the receiving end of a Bubba Cutter onto the chair. Knux, Garett Bischoff, and Wes Brisco come out to the ring and appear to be there to help Anderson to his feet, but we see what's coming a mile away here. Indeed, Brooke comes into the ring and low blows Anderson from behind before making out with Bubba, who orders the gang to finish Anderson off. Anderson tries to fight them off, but the three Aces & Eights members hit a triple powerbomb and lay Anderson out flat. Bubba finally revives Hebner and tells him to count, but Anderson barely makes it up at 9. Bubba is irate and yells at Anderson that he just doesn't know when to stay down, but Anderson starts firing back on Bubba with right hands. Bubba drills Anderson with a BIG clothesline, then picks up the chain from the corner and wraps it around his fist. He waits for Anderson to get to his feet and then drills him square in the face and knocks him out again. Hebner starts to count as a bloody Anderson struggles to his feet, and Bubba confidently puts the chain back in the corner since he assumes it's over, but Anderson is up again at 9. Bubba is in shock as Anderson stands on his own two feet and tells Bubba to come again, but Bubba charges and spears Anderson through the table and knocks him out yet a third time. Bubba picks up a jagged piece of the table and holds it ready to nail Anderson if he gets back to his feet again, but Anderson is totally out of gas this time and stays down for the ten count.

Winner: Bully Ray

That was a hell of a brawl and a great match to go out on if this really is it for Anderson. Ringside medics put a hard collar on Anderson and they drag him onto a gurney as Taz says he hopes Anderson learned his lesson. The medics load Anderson onto the stretcher and start to wheel him to the back, but Bubba charges the stretcher and the medics run for their lives. Bubba rolls the stretcher to the top of the ramp, flips it over and sends Anderson crashing to the ramp, then yanks the collar off and tears the Aces & Eights cut off of Anderson before whiping him with it. Bubba picks Anderson back up and piledrives him on the ramp, and then Bubba hovers right over Anderson and asks if he knows who he is. He says he's Bully Ray, the World Champion, and the man who just took him out. Bubba takes his belt and holds it high as he stands over the fallen Anderson and we go to commercial.

Next week: No Surrender continues as ODB challenges Mickie James for the Knockouts Title, and we go to an interview where ODB says she hasn't been the Knocked Up Champion for three years, and she almost gave up drinking to prepare for this one, but she's taking that Knocked Out Title next week, BAAAAAAAAAAAM!

James Storm and Gunner are in the ring, and Storm says they were going to just sit around drinking and watching the finals of the Bound For Glory Series, but Gunner wants to fight and Storm says they can do both in one night. Now all they need is opponents, and it doesn't matter who it is because someone in the back needs to man up. Chavo Guerrero, Jr comes out with Hernandez and reminds us that Bound For Glory was where they first won the TNA World Tag Team Title that Storm and Gunner now hold. Chavo tells Storm that he's one half of one of the greatest tag teams of all time, not THE greatest because the greatest team of all time is whichever team he's in, then he puts Gunner over for being one of the strongest guys in TNA. Not THE strongest guy, because that's Hernandez, but he sees that Storm and Gunner have been on a losing streak for a while now, and they think that if they get a shot at the title, that losing streak will continue because they're the greatest tag team, period. Gunner says that Storm likes to drink and he likes Johnny Cash, but Gunner likes to fight, so they'll face Chavo and Hernandez next week, and if they win, they get a title shot. Gunner finishes by holding the belt up and telling Chavo and Hernandez that if they stick their nose in his business again, he'll flatten it with the belt.

AJ Styles is backstage, and he's...WALKING! And so is Magnus! The finals of the 2013 Bound For Glory Series is up next!

We look back at earlier tonight when Bully Ray destroyed Ken Anderson to retain the World Title, then destroyed him some more after the match and made it seem like he wouldn't be around for a while. Now that we know who's walking into Bound For Glory with the TNA World Title, let's find out who his challenger will be, as it's time for the finals of the 2013 Bound For Glory Series!

Bound For Glory Series Finals: AJ Styles vs Brutus Magnus

Just for the record, while I don't believe these men have wrestled since (including in this year's BFG Series), Magnus did defeat AJ in a regular season match in last year's BFG Series, so going by that, Magnus actually comes into the match as the favorite. AJ takes Magnus down with a side headlock, but Magnus picks him up and hits a back suplex for 2, then shuts AJ down with a rear chinlock. AJ gets out, but Magnus nearly backdrops AJ into next week and covers for 2. Magnus whips AJ to the corner and charges, but AJ drop toeholds Magnus into the second turnbuckle and snapmares him out to the middle of the ring and hits an indy kick. AJ rams shoulderblocks into Magnus' ribs in the corner, but Magnus shrugs AJ off and hammers him with big right hands. AJ hits Magnus with a back elbow, snapmares him again, and misses the leaping kneedrop. Magnus slams AJ and goes for an elbowdrop, but AJ rolls out of the way and small packages Magnus for 2. Suddenly, Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Bobby Roode run in and attack both men. Referees run out of the back to try and restore order, and they finally succeed to herd Fortune out of the ring as we go to commercial.

We're back, and AJ Styles and Magnus are back on their feet and trading blows in the middle of the ring. Magnus catches AJ with a good shot, but AJ nails him with the Pelle Kick and both men are staggered. They charge each other and hit a double clothesline that puts both men down on the mat as the referee starts the count. AJ gets up first and starts to rally, nailing Magnus with a series of strikes and chargin him in the corner. Magnus backdrops AJ out to the apron and AJ tries to springboard back in with the forearm, but Magnus drills him with a European uppercut on the way down, then immediately follows up with the Michonoku Driver for 2. Magnus goes for the Texas Cloverleaf, but AJ counters to the gogoplata (also known as the Hell's Gate), Magnus tries to power him up, but AJ rolls through into a sunset flip for 2. AJ tries to go for the Styles Clash, but he can't hold Magnus up, so he hits the Pelle Kick instead and gets 2. AJ goes for the Calf Killer and has Magnus trapped in the middle of the ring, but Magnus refuses to give it up. Magnus badly wants tp tap, but he fights for his life and makes it to the ropes. Magnus is free, but his leg is in bad shape and he is unable to move as AJ leaps into the corner and nails him with a forearm. Magnus catches AJ on another leaping move and counters to a sidewalk slam for 2, then he puts AJ on the top rope and tries for a superplex. AJ fights him off, Magnus climbs back up and gets knocked off again, but Magnus goes back up a third time and gets knocked off yet a third time. AJ goes to the top rope and hits the Spiral Tap to become the 2013 Bound For Glory Series Champion.

Winner: AJ Styles

Well, it was the guy we all pretty much expected to win the whole thing, but sometimes the obvious choice is the right way to go, and this was a hell of a way to wrap this year's BFG Series up. Magnus looks like he wants to die as the outcome of the match sinks in, and looks as defeated as defeated can look as AJ Styles gets a microphone and says he told us he would do it, and he did it right here in St Louis. He tells the fans he couldn't have done it without them, and he got a lot of response from what he said a few weeks ago, but one person he didn't get a call, text, or tweet from one person in particular, and we all know how much Dixie Carter likes to tweet. AJ tells Dixie to get her secretary to remind her to show up next week because he's talked about a lot of mistakes that have been made around here, but he's about to bust the biggest mistake of them all when he sees Dixie next week.

Thanks for following PWInsider.com's live coverage of Impact Wrestling - No Surrender! We'll be back with the second half of No Surrender next week, but Dave Scherer and I will be back tomorrow to discuss Impact and more on the Stu & Pid Show!
