7/26 WWE RESULTS FROM EDMONTON, AB

By Barry Filion on 2014-07-27 09:22:16

Building is probably 50% capacity, so not so good.

First match was R Truth vs Fandango. R Truth goes over in a match that was perfectly fine as the opener.

Next up we had Titus O'Neil, Heath Slater and Hornswoggle vs. Diego, El Torito and Tyson Kidd. Everyone loves midget on midget violence. The face team goes over. Slater was getting the Cena crowd reaction with "let's go Slater, Slater sucks" chants. Everyone in the ring seemed surprised and confused by this and I don't blame them.

We had Miz vs. Kofi Kingston for the Intercontinental title. Miz wins, match was ok but nothing to write home about.

Last match before the break was Wyatts vs. Usos. Good back and forth fun match with Jimmy and Jay retaining the tag titles.

Next up we had Alicia Fox and Rosa vs. Natalya and Emma. Huge pop for Nattie. Eva Marie was guest ref. Match ended with Natty having Rosa in the sharpshooter, Eva didn't ring the bell but it rang anyway and Natalya's music played. She stood in the ring having words with Eva who was looking like she couldn't care less. As soon as Natalya turned her back she got attacked by Eva and the other heels. Layla ran down and made the save. Just a really weird finish.

We got Cesaro against Big Show next. Typical Big Show style match. Chops to the chest in the corner and an abundance of sleeper holds by Cesaro. Fans were calling for the swing, Cesaro went for it only to get his throat grabbed from the downed Big Show who got up and choke slammed him for the win.

Main event time. Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt.

Back and forth match which saw Rowan and Harper get ejected, then there was a ref bump so they ran back out to attack Jericho. Jimmy and Jey came and ran them off, Bray brought a chair in and missed Jericho who turned it into a Codebreaker using the chair between his knee and Wyatts face to get the win. Nothing out of the ordinary but over all it was an enjoyable show and even though many of the "top talents" weren't there I think the show was worth the money and judging by a lot of the kids there I think most would agree.
