TONS OF TNA NOTES AND NEWS LEADING TO THIS WEEKEND'S SLAMMIVERSARY PPV

By Mike Johnson on 2014-06-09 10:40:00
Welcome to TNA Slammiversary week. If you are attending the PPV or the Fan Interaction, we are seeking live notes from the weekend. Obviously, we'll have ongoing PPV coverage this weekend.

After the PPV, TNA will tape TV in Bethlehem, PA on 6/19 and 6/20. I really hope they have something planned for the PPV and post-PPV tapings as the most recent TV episodes have been downright brutal in my opinion.

As noted over the weekend, TNA pulled Bully Ray from his scheduled House of Hardcore appearances and sent him to Spike's taping of the Guys' Choice Awards in Los Angeles. TNA also sent Jessie Godderz, Velvet Sky and Taryn Terrell. While a lot of noise was made about TNA sending Ray, what was lost in all that is that if TNA is sending Spike talent, that's probably a positive sign that the two sides are working on a deal to extend the current TV deal, which expires this October.

On the negative side of the coin, the Maryland house shows over the weekend were said to have had terrible attendance. I was sent photos from a friend that was in Aberdeen and it looked really, really empty. I was told the other dates did not do well at all. One person who was at the show in Bowie, MD guessed 100-200 fans. Obviously, this wasn't a good weekend for the company on that end. Some of the photos floating around online are just brutal to see.

TNA has reached out to several former X-Division champions about appearing on the Destination X taping in June. I've heard of at least two that were contacted in the last week, but haven't confirmed they are working.

Speaking of the June tapings, I'd be shocked if Tommy Dreamer didn't appear since it's his hometown and an easy pop plus he already is there working as an agent.

Animal Planet has launched an official website for Eric Young's "No Limits" TV series at this link. I watched the first episode yesterday and absolutely loved it. Young comes off likable, as you would imagine, and the show is extremely fun. You have to be happy for what the guy has accomplished as he's been working hard for years.

TNA has cleared TV in Trinidad and will debut this weekend on CNC3 there.

Since the Von Erichs tie-in has worked so well locally, TNA is also pushing the return of The Menagerie's Rebel locally as she is a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.

TNA French announcers Célian Varini and Gregory Deas are heading to Slammiversary this weekend to commentate.

The Queens Tribune interviewed Gail Kim in advance of the TNA tapings in NYC at this link. TNA is working on a lot of local media pushes for the tapings.

The lineup for this Thursday's TNA Impact Wrestling Slammiversary "Go Home" episode:

*TNA champion Eric Young vs. MVP (not a typo, yes three days before the PPV)

*TNA champion Eric Young vs. Bobby Lashley

*TNA champion Eric Young vs. Kenny King

*TNA Knockouts champion Angelina Love vs. Madison Rayne.

*Knux vs. Robbie E.

*Gail Kim vs. Brittany vs. Madison Rayne to become the number one contender to the Knockouts title.

*The return of Brooke Tessmacher.

*Also appearing are Samoa Joe, Mr. Anderson, James Storm, Magnus, Willow, Abyss, Bram, EC3, Rockstar Spud and more.
