By Darren Bongiovanni on 2014-03-10 06:10:09

DARREN’S WIN-LOSS RECORDS COLUMN: WEEK 10

Welcome to Week 10 of 2014. We start March with Raw, and we’re also going to end March with Raw on March 30. This week, we had a live episode of WWE Main Event on Tuesday on the WWE Network, and starting next week Main Event will now be on every Tuesday at 8 on the WWE Network. We also had NXT in its new timeslot of Thursday at 9 on the WWE Network, followed by WWE Superstars. Also, TNA gave us their 1st Pay-Per-View of 2014, TNA Lockdown. Now, to this week’s news & notes.

On Raw, we started with The Usos VS The New Age Outlaws for the WWE Tag Team Titles. This match was the 1st match to take place on Pay-Per-View & 2 weeks in a row on Raw in February & March. It was the 6th Tag Team Title Match of 2014, bringing the Title Match count to 23 overall and 15 for WWE. The title changed hands bringing the Title Change count to 6 overall and 3 for WWE, and was the 2nd Tag Title Change of the year, after The New Age Outlaws won the belts at the Royal Rumble on January 26. This was Jimmy & Jey’s 1st opener since Smackdown on January 10 and Billy Gunn & Road Dogg Jesse James’ 1st opener since Smackdown on January 17. Both teams went from the main event of Smackdown to the opener of the following week’s Raw, which was the 1st time since Rey Mysterio & The Shield to do that on Smackdown on January 31 & Raw on February 3. Next, in the 2nd match in a row to be re-matched from last week’s Raw, Big E wrestled Cesaro. The match ended in a Disqualification, which was the 4th Raw in a row to have a Disqualification and the 2nd time that Big E VS Cesaro ended in a Disqualification. Then, in a re-match from the Elimination Chamber, The Shield wrestled The Wyatt Family, becoming the 5th match out of 7 from the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View to be re-matched. Next, in the 1st Mixed Tag Team Match of 2014, Emma & Santino Marella wrestled Fandango & Summer Rae. This brought the Gimmick Match count to 28 overall and 12 for WWE. Next, in their 3rd match against each other, Sheamus wrestled Christian. They previously wrestled on Smackdown on February 21 & on Raw on February 24, making in the 2nd match tonight to be re-matched 3 times. In the 3rd match to take place 3 times, The Bellas wrestled Aksana & Alicia Fox, who last wrestled on Raw on January 6 & on Main Event on January 22. This became the 1st match to be re-matched in January & March, and not in February. Also, this was the 1st time that Raw had 2 Diva’s Matches. Next in a re-match from Raw on February 10, Dolph Ziggler wrestled Alberto Del Rio. This was Ziggler’s 1st win on Raw since January 27, but 1st win since Smackdown on February 21. Next, Big E wrestled again, but this time against Jack Swagger, in the 6th re-match from Elimination Chamber to be re-matched, and 2nd one tonight. The only matches not to be re-matched from the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View was the World Championship Chamber Match & the pre-show match between The Brotherhood and Curtis Axel & Ryback. Big E wrestling twice was the 1st time since Daniel Bryan on Smackdown on February 21 to do that, when he also wrestled Jack Swagger & Cesaro. This match also ended in a Disqualification, making it the 2nd week in a row that Raw had 2 Disqualifications. In the main event, Daniel Bryan wrestled Batista for the 1st time in 2014. They did wrestle each other on Raw on May 3, 2010. This was Bryan’s 2nd straight main event and Batista’s 1st main event of 2014. Batista went from the opener of last week’s Raw to the main event of this week’s, which was the 1st time since The Shield on January 20 & 27 to do that. The match ended in a Disqualification, making it the 1st time that Raw had 3 Disqualifications.

On Main Event, which aired live on the WWE Network on Tuesday, and will air live on every Tuesday from now on, we saw Daniel Bryan wrestle Kane. This was their 3rd match against each other, as they last wrestled on Raw on February 17 & 24, making it the 1st match to take place twice on Raw and then on Main Event. This was the 2014 Main Event debuts for both wrestlers and the 1st time that someone from the main event of Raw competed in the opener of Main Event. Next, Nikki Bella wrestled Alicia Fox. This was Nikki’s 1st match on Main Event since January 22 and 1st singles match since Smackdown on February 7 and Alicia Fox’s 1st match on Main Event since February 26 and 1st singles match since NXT on February 5. In the final match of Main Event, The Usos wrestled Los Matadores, who were the replacements for The New Age Outlaws, for the WWE Tag Titles. This was the 7th Tag Title Match of the year and 2nd night in a row that WWE had a Tag Title Match, bringing the Title Match count to 24 overall and 16 for WWE. This was Los Matadores’ 4th week in a row and The Usos’ 1st match on Main Event since January 29.

On NXT, in its new timeslot, Adrian Neville wrestled Camacho. This was Neville’s 3rd week in a row on NXT and the 1st time that someone went from the main event of last week’s show to the opener of this week’s. This was Camacho’s 1st match on NXT since January 29. Then, Emma, in her 5th week in a row on NXT, wrestled Charlotte, in her 1st match on NXT since November 29, 2013. This was the 2nd week in a row that Emma wrestled on both Raw & NXT in the same week. Then, in his 1st match since November 27 on NXT, Yoshi Tatsu wrestled Corey Graves, in his 1st match since February 5. The match ended by Count Out, which was the 1st Count Out for NXT and the 1st for WWE since January 10. Then, we had the debut of Adam Rose, as he wrestled Wesley Blake, in his match since January 22. In the main event, for the 2nd time this week someone wrestled twice, as Corey Graves wrestled Sami Zayn. This was the 1st time since Adiran Neville on January 22 to compete twice on NXT. This was Zayn’s 2nd week in a row on NXT and the 1st wrestler to go from the opener last week to the main event of this week. This was Graves’ 1st main event since February 5 and Zayn’s 1st main event since his last win on January 1.

On Impact, we started the show with a 6-Man Elimination Match between Team MVP of MVP & The Wolves and Team Dixie of Austin Aries, Robbie E, & Bobby Roode. The match started out as the opener but due to Davey Richards’ injury, referee Earl Hebner postponed the match until later on. I will count the match as 1 match in the records, with Team Dixie getting the win and Team MVP getting the loss. This was Robbie E’s 3rd week in a row wrestling in the opener, The Wolves’ 2nd opener in a row, and Aries, MVP, & Roode’s 1st opener of 2014. Also, Roode & MVP went from the main event of last week’s show to the opener of this week’s, which was the 1st time that happened. This was the 1st 6-Man Tag Team Match since February 13 and 1st Elimination Match, bringing the Gimmick Match count to 29 overall and 17 for TNA. Also, they showed The Bro-Mans regaining the TNA World Tag Team Championship, but did not acknowledge that Sanada defeated Austin Aries for the X-Division Title, though they did change the title history on Impactwrestling.com. So, until they mention it on TV, Aries will be listed as the X-Division Champion here. Then, we saw Eric Young wrestle Samuel Show. This was Shaw’s 1st match since January 2 and Young’s 1st match since February 6. The match ended in a Double Count Out, which was the 1st Count Out for TNA and the 1st No Contest for TNA since February 13. Next, we had the 2nd 6-Person Tag Match of the night, as ODB, Madison Rayne, & Velvet Sky wrestled The Alpha Female, Gail Kim, & Lei’D Tapa. This was the 1st time that TNA had 2 6-Man Tag Matches. This was ODB’s 1st match since January 16. Since Davey Richards and Bobby Roode continued the opener in the final match of the night, I will count them as wrestling in the main event. Therefore, this was Roode’s 2nd week in a row in the main event and Richards’ 1st main event of 2014. Samoa Joe did a face off with Magnus, but he didn’t wrestle, therefore ending his streak of competing on 8 straight episodes of Impact in 2014.

On Superstars, we saw Zack Ryder wrestled Titus O’Neil, in a re-match from Raw on February 3, making it the 1st match to take place on Raw & Superstars in 2014. This was Ryder’s 2014 Superstars’ debut and O’Neil’s 1st match on the show since January 16. In the 2nd match of the show, in a re-match from Smackdown on January 24, which was the 2nd time that a match from Smackdown was re-matched on Superstars. This was both teams’ 2nd week in a row on Superstars. Los Matadores also wrestled on Main Event, which was the 4th week in a row that someone wrestled on both shows.

On Smackdown, for the 1st time in 2014, Dolph Ziggler wrestled Christian. This was Christian’s 1st opener since Raw on February 17 and Ziggler’s 1st opener since Smackdown on January 31. This was Christian’s 1st singles win since Raw on February 3. Next, in their 3rd match against each other The Usos wrestled Curtis Axel & Ryback. They previously wrestled on Raw on January 27 & February 10. Next, in their 2014 Smackdown debut, Natalya & Eva Marie wrestled AJ Lee & Tamina Snuka. This was Tamina’s 1st match on Smackdown since January 17. In a re-match from last week’s Smackdown on February 28, Sheamus wrestled Alberto Del Rio. This was the 1st time that a match took place 2 weeks in a row on Smackdown. In the main event of Smackdown, we saw the 1st time teaming of The Big Show & Daniel Bryan as they faced the 1st time partners of Batista & Kane. This was Bryan & Batista’s 2nd main event this week, Bryan’s 3rd straight main event, Kane’s 2nd week in a row main eventing Smackdown, and Show’s 1st main event of 2014. This was Show’s 1st match since the Royal Rumble on January 26 and 1st match on Smackdown since January 24. This was the 1st Smackdown since February 14 to not have a Disqualification and the 1st Smackdown since February 7 to not have a 6-Man Tag Team Match.

At TNA Lockdown, the 1st TNA Pay-Per-View of 2014, we saw all 7 matches take place inside of a Steel Cage, which was the 1st time since 2012 that Lockdown had nothing but Cage Matches. All of the Cage Matches brought the Gimmick Match count to 36 overall and 24 for TNA. This was the 1st time since January 23 that TNA had a Cage Match. Lockdown gave us 2 Title Matches, bringing the Title Match count to 26 overall and 10 for TNA. The opener saw the TNA debuts of The Great Muta, the new X-Division Champion Sanada, & Yasu against Bad Influence & Chris Sabin. This was the 3rd 6-Man Tag Team Match of TNA. Next, we saw Mr. Anderson wrestle Samuel Shaw in their 1st ever meeting. Ethan Carter III came out for an open challenge, which was accepted by the returning Bobby Lashley, but since it wasn’t an official match, it won’t be counted here. Then, we saw Manik, in his 1st match in TNA since October 31, 2013, wrestle Tigre Uno, in his 1st match in TNA. Then, we saw Gunner wrestle James Storm, in a re-match from Impact on January 23. This match was held under Last Man Standing Rules, which was the 1st Last Man Standing Match for TNA. Then, in the 1st match to take place 4 times in TNA, Madison Rayne defended her Knockout’s Title against Gail Kim. They previously wrestled on Impact on January 2, January 16, & February 20. This was the 1st Knockout’s Title Match since January 16. This was the 3rd year in a row that Gail Kim competed in the Knockout’s Title Match at Lockdown and 2nd year that she was the challenger. Then the World Title was decided in a Submissions Only Match between Samoa Joe and Magnus. This was the 1st TNA World Title Match since Impact on February 20 and 1st Submissions Match of 2014. This was also Joe’s 1st loss of 2014. In the main event, we saw Lethal Lockdown with Team MVP of MVP, The Wolves, & the debuting Willow VS Team Dixie of Austin Aries, The Bro-Mans, & Bobby Roode. This was the 1st time since 2012 that Lethal Lockdown had 8 participants and also no one from last year’s match competed in this year’s match. This was the 1st 8-Man Tag in TNA in 2014. The match also had a special referee in Bully Ray, which was the 1st time since Austin Aries was the special referee on Impact on February 27. This was the TNA debut of Willow, who looks like Jeff Hardy, but since he was given another name will be listed separate here if Hardy also competes. This is the same thing as Joseph Park & Abyss both wrestling though they’re the same person.

Now without further ado, here are the Win-Loss Records for this week, followed by the results of the week that was. Thanks again to Mike for posting it and all of you for reading it.
