BY THE NUMBERS: LOOKING BACK AT THE WEEK IN WRESTLING ON TELEVISION FROM WWE, TNA, AND ROH

By Richard Trionfo on 2014-03-10 06:32:31
With the WWE Network becoming the homes for three of the shows after the announcement that Main Event will air live on the Network on Tuesday nights, it means that we are going to get to make some changes in this column. The totals for Main Event, NXT, and Superstars will be considered separately as new seasons.

The totals for Main Event will be based on what airs on the WWE Network in the event that there are any differences between the WWE Network version and the ION Network broadcast as long as the show airs on both networks.

Raw won the week one more time, but they fell below 50 minutes of wrestling for the first time in six weeks. Smackdown finished in second place again, but tied with Main Event. Fourth place went to NXT and Impact while Superstars finished in last place.

The two ties among the shows is a rare occasion and Impact and Superstars matched their totals for last week.

The first match from Main Event on the WWE Network was the longest match of the week while Raw had the next two longest matches as well as the only two one minute matches.

This week put us past 31,000 minutes of wrestling and NXT jumped ahead of Superstars again to take a one minute advantage over Superstars. Over the 208 episodes of television from these two shows, that one minute difference comes out to just under three-tenths of a second per show.

If we get matches from the television taping in Philadelphia instead of the 12th Anniversary Show, we will hit exactly 2,000 hours of wrestling.

The totals for Sunday’s Lockdown pay per view will appear in the March recap.

The times for participation in the Elimination Tag Match on Impact were as follows:

Davey Richards: 15 Minutes
Eddie Edwards: 3 Minutes
MVP: 5 Minutes
Austin Aries: 9 Minutes
Robbie E: 2 Minutes
Booby Roode: 15 Minutes

In this column, I am treating it as two matches since there was an hour between the first part and the second part of the match.

While the matches on this week’s Ring of Honor television do not qualify for this column, here are the match lengths from the program that aired featuring matches from the 12th Anniversary show: Matt Taven versus Silas Young was 7 Minutes; Tommaso Ciampa versus Hanson was 7 Minutes; and Chris Hero versus Adam Cole was 18 Minutes (If you want to see the matches without commercial breaks, they are available in the VOD section on the Ring of Honor website).

The wrestling times below cover the wrestling that takes place during the show so commercials are not included. All times are rounded to the closest minute (examples: a 4:23 match will be listed as 4 minutes while a 4:32 match will be listed as 5 minutes and anything under a minute is rounded up to a minute).
