By Martin Bentley on 2013-03-28 12:07:50

Japanese female wrestler Ayumi Kurihara, who competed in the United States for both SHIMMER and Ring of Honor, and has competed in Mexico where she was the CMLL Women's Champion, has announced her retirement from professional wrestling aged just 28. Nikkan Sports reports that many nagging injuries, including a collarbone injury she suffered in 2007, have contributed to her decision to retire. Her final match will take place on August 4th at Korakuen Hall.

The Nikkan Sports story is at http://www.nikkansports.com/battle/news/f-bt-tp0-20130328-1104097.html - Google Translate is required.

Also, SHIMMER just released that Kurihara will be facing Mercedes Martinez at SHIMMER 53 at WrestleCon, which will be Kurihara's final SHIMMER appearance.
