THE ROCK EXPLAINS WHY JOHN CENA WAS HIS ONLY LOGICAL OPPONENT AT WRESTLEMANIA, REY UPDATE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2013-02-28 13:24:50
In an interview with IGN.com, The Rock pretty much said that John Cena was the only logical opponent for him at Wrestlemania this year, commenting, "He was my pick, yes. Definitely. You have to understand that my return back into the WWE was years in the making. And since I've been back, it's been a three year-long journey that started at WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta. So John has always been my first choice. Here's the thing. The question was that if I was going to go back in the WWE, how could I go back and make the most impact? With who can I headline WrestleMania in that company and make the most impact? And the bottom line is that it continues to be John Cena. Just in terms of, and we'll use a Hollywood term here, box office appeal. Universal appeal. Athletic pairing. So there are a lot of reasons." You can read the interview by clicking here. Rey Mysterio is still being advertised for Raw TV appearances. Thanks to Steven Fernandes.

Rob Hoffman sent the following....Miz is doing a phone interview with the horse racing network TVG tomorrow night (2/28) at 10:00pm Eastern. Why? TVG’s evening host, Gino Buccola, is a rabid wrestling fan who frequently drops wrestling references into his race previews and predictions… but this will be, as far as I can tell, the first wrestler to appear on TVG in quite a while. In fact, the last wrestler to appear on TVG was Jerry Lawler – who actually wrestled TVG host Todd Schrupp at Sam Houston Race Park (near Houston, TX) in the summer of 2002.

Miz is actually all over the place promoting The Marine 3 DVD release. He had an awesome appearance on Conan O'Brien last night as well.

Haku has been added to the WWE Alumni section.

Tickets for the 4/30 Smackdown taping in Detroit, Michigan will go on sale on 3/2. There will be an online pre-sale tomorrow using code BigShow. Thanks to Gregory Davis.
