El Fantasma who is the head of the Distrito Federal Box y Lucha Commission announced recently that they were going to be offering health insurance for luchadores and their families but it was originally believed that only the independent contractors would be taking part but many AAA luchadores and their families signed up for the service on Friday. This is a really good idea on their part especially the high flyers.
Ray Mendoza Jr. stated in an interview with Metro over the weekend that the luchadores that were scheduled to work his retirement show on 3/16 at Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera in Mexico City were informed by the Todos x Todos people that they would be banned from working their show in the same building on 3/23. Mendoza said that he booked the show first and that TxT followed his lead after Hijo del Santo wasn't invited to work his retirement show because of his heat with AAA which would've killed his chances of getting talent from them. Mendoza said that Rayman, Cien Caras Jr., & Hijo del Mascara Ano Dos Mil have pulled out of his show with Rayman in particular saying to him that he would be blackballed from TxT if he didn't pull out. A key factor in the decision making also seems to be the fact that the Mendoza show is also a charity show with the proceeds going to a children's organization so the guys are going for the money. Santo vehemently denied this story on Twitter and said that Mendoza is being highly unprofessional because he has supported them over the years citing Villano IV winning the Copa TxT last year. Santo will have a press conference tomorrow to talk about his show and reveal the main event but I'm sure the main story will be Mendoza's complaint. This is interesting as well because since being basically blackballed himself by EMLL, Santo has complained for years about promotions vetoing talent from working with him on shows and now it is being reported his promotion is doing the same thing.
